Trigger warning

How did we go from, did Israel bomb a hospital? To patients being killed by Israel in their masses and the hospitals becoming a war zone and cemetery.

It has been reported that there are so many dead bodies, they can't be buried. Dogs are actually eating them.

Israel-Gaza live news: WHO says Gaza's biggest hospital becoming a cemetery - BBC News

Kidney patients and premature babies are at risk, and the hospital's morgue is not functioning, the World Health Organization says.

Was that thread title actually necessary?
And exclamation marks like it's exciting 🙁

But that's just the point; it appears that it is exciting to a certain mentality

I think I know what the problem is. People are more likely to protest for a title than for international law being broken.

People can be concerned about major and minor issues at the same time.

That is true but it doesn't seem that some posters are concerned about both the minor and major issue. That's what is concerning! :/

You said change it out of respect which I completely get but some people just don't want to acknowledge what is happening

Thank you @SadTimes96 for trying to raise awareness about the atrocities that are happening in Gaza.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 14/11/2023 11:04

All British mainstream news channels have not reported that Hamas fighters have been killed in Al-shifa hospital
Only patients have been killed

Leaving aside the fact that an injured fighter would potentially be a patient, how would they be able to tell the difference? After all it's not as if Hamas have a formal uniform ...

FrancescaContini · 14/11/2023 11:17

SadTimes96 · 14/11/2023 08:55

Would be nice if you could criticise the Israeli government for making this happen rather than me for simply relaying.

I'm trying to let people know how horrific this all is. Some people are still in denial.

I’m referring to your sensationalist thread title. I don’t comment on the unspeakable horrors of what the IDF has been inflicting on Gaza within the framework of a sensationalist thread as I would find this tasteless, in the same way as I wouldn’t pick up Take A Break! to read the news.

How would any Hamas fighters [uniformed or not] have got into the hospital?

No-one could leave or enter because of the bombardment/sniper fire

People died where they fell because no-one could go out to rescue them

Just a video to prove that Hamas don't all wear uniform. Some of them showed up to the massacre on 7th October in jeans and a t-shirt. Seems like some people need to be reminded they often dress up as civilians. On the day of the massacre some also dressed up as IDF soldiers.

Here 's some coverage of the babies who are now without incubators:

Interesting how the biggest atrocity right now has been ignored. No posts about this?

For one thing, your thread isn't 'reporting' the conflict. It is personal entertainment.

Hmm

SomeCatFromJapan · 13/11/2023 21:47

They would deny it. There's comfirmation coming from the US though:

https://edition.cnn.com/2023/11/13/politics/al-shifa-hospital-us-intelligence/index.html

Also quite a lot of footage from the IDF on twitter although I know most here will say it's fake.

People can easily identify IDF propaganda. Their actions are despicable. How anyone can justify bombing a hospital is beyond me. Israel needs to stop. Tired of the excuses, and Israel weaponizing antisemitism to carry out these atrocities.
This is also against international law by the way.

Ah right. So that makes it ok to kill civilians and babies.

Agree OP. People offended by a title that they can just skip on their feed.

It's so weird, I don't remember saying or even thinking that.

Oh, you not read other comments in the thread? Just jumped straight on mine? That's fair enough then that you'd be confused by it. Others mentioned the difficulties in telling Hamas apart from civilians at times. I posted to say you can see why it would be difficult when Hamas frequently dress in civilian clothing

feralunderclass · 16/11/2023 07:49

So much horror and outrage over a thread title with faux concern for families of dead victims being eaten by animals. I highly doubt they are going to be reading mumsnet 🙄. Anyway the truth needs to be told, this is part of the atrocities. Attempts to police tone of wording and punctuation marks are just a pathetic attempt to derail. If the thread title is upsetting then don't open it, simple as.

Humdingerydoo · 16/11/2023 07:50

You know what, I'm sorry for my previous post. It was too snarky. It's genuinely possible that you didn't read all the other posts, in which case I really can see how my comment appeared incredibly random and out of place and as though I was trying to derail the thread. I wasn't though.

You could just answer the question you know. Being a dickhead isn’t mandatory.

At least you’re not arguing that the men in the October 7 videos were actually civilians (must of been if they were wearing blue jeans and trainers) (that was on another thread)

Reallifelurker · 16/11/2023 08:28

Sorry, I don’t know if it looks like I’m implying you were making that argument. It was someone else.

That’s ok

There are thread titles and there are thread titles. Would you have liked the other thread to stand where the OP, who had watched loads of videos of babies covered in blood, asking for more of them being beheaded as well? That was a distressing title.

There is talking about atrocities and there is clear addiction to devouring everything that's going on and acting excited about it. plenty other threads manage it ok.

Xenia · 16/11/2023 10:35

Immediately after the Hamas incursion/murders when Hamas slit the throat of Jewish babies in Israel, Israel told those in the North to leave and go South as Israel was at war. there was a lot of warning given.

I think it’s possibly shock rather than excitement. I didn’t get the sense that the OP was gratuitous just that what it described was awful.
I did think FFS when I read it, I won’t lie, but I see no reason to assume she’s reviling it it as you imply.
