Trigger warning

How did we go from, did Israel bomb a hospital? To patients being killed by Israel in their masses and the hospitals becoming a war zone and cemetery.

It has been reported that there are so many dead bodies, they can't be buried. Dogs are actually eating them.

Israel-Gaza live news: WHO says Gaza's biggest hospital becoming a cemetery - BBC News

Kidney patients and premature babies are at risk, and the hospital's morgue is not functioning, the World Health Organization says.

There are thread titles and there are thread titles. Would you have liked the other thread to stand where the OP, who had watched loads of videos of babies covered in blood, asking for more of them being beheaded as well? That was a distressing title.

There is talking about atrocities and there is clear addiction to devouring everything that's going on and acting excited about it. plenty other threads manage it ok.

I didn't see the original thread title, I'm just going on the many posts that appear to be an attempt to minimise what is a very distressing reality for people in Gaza.
I'm putting the words "addiction" and "obsession" into my hasbara category now, again they seem to be used within the context of trying to make posters who are talking about the plight of Palestinians as suffering some sort of mental health issue. That is one of the worst, but most typical forms of gaslighting.

Yes, I get the sense that telling people who are admittedly very critical of Israel that they are pro Hamas terrorist sympathisers hasn’t done the job and “you’re all mentally unbalanced” will be the next “argument”.
Watch this space.

Thanks @feralunderclass for introducing me to the term ‘hasbara’. I have read up on it from various sources and my god, it is eye opening and what you say makes so much sense

I mean, how many times have I and others been told we're pro killing children because we're pro-Israel? I keep saying pro-Israel doesn't equal anti-Palestinian but people seem to ignore that. I still get accused of wanting them all dead. So maybe stop pretending you guys are somehow superior. It's really, really boring to read.

Also stop pretending hasbara is some kind of dirty word 🤦🏻‍♀️ Every government and organisation has a hasbara department. It's just public diplomacy / PR.

To be fair I've never said that someone pro Israel is a baby killer (that is quite a reach). I would though say that someone who is pro Israel must be fairly content to ignore the huge human rights violations of Palestinians that has resulted from the state of Israel.
Hasbara isn't a dirty word, I don't think anyone said it was? I think the hasbara of Israel is slightly more caustic than your everyday organizations PR department. It aims to discredit, pathologize and even harm those who are critics. And a quick Google tells me you can book a course to be "armed with a hasbara toolkit" in US. This goes way beyond governments trying to deflect criticism, it infiltrates right down to the ground.

I’ve never backed the child killer narrative, or genocide (as my post history should show)

For my part I have been accused of being antisemitic, a terrorist sympathiser and wanting Israel wiped off the map. That also gets pretty boring. And superior? Some of the pro Israeli supporters here could have their user names under the word “superior” in a dictionary (IMO). Perhaps <whisper it> we’re all as bad as each other.

No, pro-Israel, to me, means that I think they have a right to defend themselves and the right to exist. A lot of people on here and in real life seem to think that's unreasonable, which I take great issue with.

I don't support Israel in everything. I eg don't support settlers in the West Bank. I don't support Israel having not allowed water and food in to Gaza for a few weeks, and now only allowing minimal amounts.

I do support them hunting down Hamas though.

You've implied hasbara is something quite shocking on multiple threads now. It really is just PR. Yes, other people all over the world might also participate in it because we know that if we don't defend Israel, no one will. Where I'm from we called it "being an ambassador for Israel". It was felt it was needed to combat anti-Semitism. Obviously hasn't worked though. The concept stems from us, as Jews, constantly being demanded to give our opinion on what happens in Israel. That in itself is anti-Semitic, but at least we were given some tools to help us defend ourselves.

I'm not sure I've explained that very well, but all I'm saying is hasbara really isn't something sinister. Please stop implying it is.

Hamas are also very good at hasbara / PR - that's how they've won over all of social media. They also have people all over the world whose job it is to spread their version of events. They are being interviewed on the news as well, which shocks me - why on earth would you ever interview a terrorist?!

I've said on other threads that we really are all as bad as each other, so I don't see the need for you to whisper ;) I think I'm just getting to the end of my tether with it now. It's exhausting and so repetitive. Ugh.
