Hi all,

Brand new thread!

I started it so I must get a BFP before the end - them's the rules.

OP posts:
emptyshell · 15/07/2010 12:13

I'm now considering drastic measures...

There's a pregnancy chair in the Old Trip in Nottingham... I'm seriously considering going for a good long sit.

Goodluckbear · 15/07/2010 13:01

Wahay Magic8!! Just saw your news, congratulations!!

Manic waves to everyone else. empty - pregnancy chair sounds good to me, my mate told me about a particular vineyard in South Africa that made a wine that supposedly helped with conception - she claimed her DD was conceived after drinking a bottle of it. I actually considered flying there just to get it.

(I suspect the wine probably had a helping hand in conception as people were getting wasted and forgetting to use contraception, but I could see how the rumour started).

Hope you lovely ladies are all ok xxxx

lucysnowe · 15/07/2010 13:21

Congrats Magic8!!! aces news.

digi I am 9 dpo (er, possibly) and if I can hold off, so can you. Not testing until at least next Weds. :-)No symptoms tho so shall prob allow RTD to save me a test this time.

empty or you could try SWIing on top of the Cerne Abbas giant, that's said to do the trick. hope you are okay. Are you due to test soon or are you starting a new cycle?

congrats WYG also!

PrettyVacant1 · 15/07/2010 14:54

Hi GLB How do?

Empty anything is worth a shot, I suggest like Lucy said, a bit of SWI whilst sitting on said chair.
Depending on where you live Notts or Dorset?
Bit too much out in the open in Cerne...

What GLB said though sounds like a fair excuse to skip both and go to SA and get krunk!

dorcas111 · 15/07/2010 14:57

Congratulations magic8, northerngoldlilocks and anyone else I've missed who has recently found themselves knocked up! Fantastic news. I just wanted to say to everyone who is recently pregnant and still in that early stage of terror- knicker checking and wishing more symptoms upon themselves- hang in there. I had my 12 week scan today and despite having convinced myself that there would be nothing in there, there is an actual real baby wriggling around. To be honest I have found the last three months incredibly hard, I have been so stressed out about things going wrong again, and I too couldn't bring myself to move properly to the grads thread. Hopefully now I might start to relax... I just wanted to add another positive story as I know how horrible it is. I think once you have had a pregnancy go wrong your experience of pregnancy is never the same again, you lose a bit of confidence in the process.
Everyone else on the 2ww/ SWI / WTTC, sending you lots of luck and wet haddocks (actually that's just for those on the 2ww).

Aww thanks Loopy
I hopefully make a fortune at the party.

Dorcas that's wonderful news.
You can start to relax a little more now which will be fab for both of you.
Enjoy it x

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 15/07/2010 18:03

dorcas that is great news x

saffronbun · 15/07/2010 18:31

Excellent news WYG anddorcas* , you give us hope!

Btw I'm also a wedding/other random stuff photog. & £350 sounds like a bargain if your mate is a proper wedding photographer - we only cost so much cos we have to spend hours editing out zits etc post-wedding before we hand over the photos! I reckon I actually earn not that much above minimum wage given the hours I put in. Make your own book afterwards on blurb or YoPhoto, they are both cheap, decent quality and easy to use.

Going off topic a bit, sorry

See you all on the Cerne Abbas giant shortly then?

hairytriangle · 15/07/2010 19:21

great news, Dorcas

I've been researching and diarising next months' maximum SWI'ing dates

Here I come, wheatgrass, Zita West supplements, Brazil Nuts etc etc etc!

Freezingmyarseoff · 15/07/2010 19:35

Lovely to hear from you WYG and Dorcas, great to be able to see your little beans and here's to being able to relax a little bit more now

am liking the excuses to go to SA to get drunk knocked up

Julia1969 · 15/07/2010 19:53

Pretty V I'm already hitting about 8 on the Loony Meter, if I ratchet up any higher the Menkul police will make me stand in Menkul Corner with Lindsay Lohan.

Hairy you is on a mission! If the bitch arrives for me (as I suspect she will) this weekend (on my blimmin' birthday weekend too) then I'll be looking for a cheat sheet from you!
Please, I might add. . ..

Now, Zita West I know is renowned but is she and her team really top notch? Anyone have experience? I'd hate to assume that they're some of the best just because of the name.

clareanna · 15/07/2010 20:08

dorcas wonderful news- see you on the grads thread now?!

hairytriangle · 15/07/2010 20:25

Julia I sure is. I might book three days off work in advance

I will gladly give you my cheat sheet LOL.

I have no experience of Zita except for taking her tablets (recommended by my lovely sister who is 19 weeks pregnant ) - all the advice I can offer is don't be alarmed by your luminous yellow wee!

Zita West's book is really useful.

BunnyBaby · 15/07/2010 21:11

Magic great news, congratulations

digitalgirl · 15/07/2010 21:30

dorcas and wyg in all my 2ww self obsession I forgot to say congrats on the scans.

Now please pass that haddock over here, why on earth would poas at 8pm only 1hr since the previous wee a whole week before my period is due result in anything less than a bfn. Or to be exact: an overly scrutinised evap line, fished out of the bin a total of three times.

I am [shame]. I fear I have opened the floodgates now the seal on the box of Internet cheapies has been broken.

digitalgirl · 15/07/2010 21:31

I meant not [shame]. How

Muser · 15/07/2010 22:13

Congrats on the scan dorcas.

digitalgirl I have a large tuna here to give you a good thunk with. STEP AWAY FROM THE TESTS.

Freezingmyarseoff · 15/07/2010 22:46

digital after a scaley splat with the haddock and tuna please allow to me to fling over a trout followed by herring, finishing up with a wafer thin sardine for good measure
Had enough yet

PrettyVacant1 · 15/07/2010 23:10

Sorry it's all I could "Plaice" my hands on. Geddit?

dorcas wyg congratulations, you give the rest of us hope.

digital I fear too many fish have been thrown at you.. how about a mollusc or two?

I am having the when to test dilemma myself. I am off on a short break on 9dpo for 3 nights. Too early, but I am not sure I can wait until we get back. Even worse, it is with friends, who will notice if I don't drink.
We are taking my car though, so I am hoping to volunteer to do a lot of the driving

Hopefully · 16/07/2010 07:29

I am proud not necessarily because I won't test early (we all know I will ) but because I have made it to CD20 without obsessing over the 2WW and working what the earliest date I could test is.

Had minor meltdown last night - went to a new toddler group yesterday and literally about 50% of the mothers there (with toddlers similar ages to DS) were pregnant, including a good friend who announced she is 14 weeks. Managed to hold it together till I saw DP. It's just so bloody unfair - I was the first of all my mummy friends to be PG with DC2, and now I'm (apart from one who is also trying) the last of those who intend to have number 2 to not be PG .

Just feels so crap that all these grand plans we made - small age gap, have a 1 year old by the time got married, be ready for DC3 if we decided to do that etc etc, have just been squashed from a great height. Grrr.

Sorry, just having a minor mememe moment.

batteryhen · 16/07/2010 09:07

Morning all,

hopefully I hope this is our month - I am sorry you're feling crappy at the moment. 2 of my friends have announced on facebook this week that they are about 16 weeks pregnant. I want to shout 'well I would have been 27 weeks by now ' I know its not a competition but still

I am also holding off testing - I am also CD 20 and DPO5, so far too early. Thing is DP is here this weekend, so wanted to test when he is here, otherwise I will end up testing on my own next week - providing I can hold out that long!

digi I too fear you have been hit my many a flying fish, so I will offer up a raw prawn and see what you make of that

delilah - go- have a good time with friends, the fact that you wont be able to test might be good ?? (who am I kidding - I am thinking of testing on DPO7 for gods sake

PrettyVacant1 · 16/07/2010 09:23

Hopefully well done for not stressing and caving in to the two weeks of lunacy

Sorry to hear you're being stalked by wimmin that are preggers.
I know what you mean with plans too.
Ours was baby first, wedding then house.
I had dreams that we would be taking a 12-18 month to Cuba with us and it toddling up the beach aisle before me wearing linen or a pretty dress.
We've been trying for over 2 yrs, continued MC and I was trying to break a record by working my way through the medical dictonary so I've come to accept it's really not going to happen in that order.
The Cuban wedding is now on back burner and we are eventually buying the house

But hey ho, I've more than many so until I get some more I'm happy with my lot.

Can you let me in on how you go about that non stressing malarkay please as I'm approx 6dpo (if I even did O )
and I've convinced myself somethings going on.

That is not possible is it?
According to Pregnology OV calender it could not have even implanted yet. (D20)?
Although I may have OV'd earlier
Tell me that I'm being a loon.

It was a long time on that bench and I think it's done things to my poor Brian.
He's a little addled but I'm sure he'll be fine next month
