Thanks all for the congrats

v brief birth info, I have written whole thing on another thread, but don't want to put too much here. Basically I did hypnobirthing whole way way through, which worked amazingly. Arrived t hosp 7cm dilated and calm and fine. They thought she would arrive in a couple of hours, and ran birthing pool, which I didn't like, so got out after 30 mins! Basically I did 39 hours with hypnobirthing and some of the start of that with the tens machine on. It was all fine, and was in the zone, but sadly as it took so long, her heartrate started to drop so I had o have epidural and forceps (they prepped me for em cs and warned me it was likely) but that was just the last hour and she then came out fast.

All in all a fab experience, just bit sad about the end, but was for the best.

Am spending much time staring at her. She is just perfect

VJay · 27/07/2010 07:43

Welcome to the diet club jools , we can share our pain together.

mls and blue I wasn't completly on my own when I gave birth I did have a midwife. DH and ds1 dropped me off at the hospital then had to go home It was a busy night so was on my own a lot, but it was all good

mermaid every bit of food and drink has a point value with weight watchers, it's really easy and means you can eat anything as long as you don't go over your points for the day. At your weight you would start with 18 points a day for the 1st week, then have 20 points a day thereafter, and like someone else said you can earn points through exercise, which I have NEVER done

Have a fab meet up today blue and neeko.

Right got to go and feed my boys, Ajay has just waddled in eating toilet roll

Oh well done iggy, you did amazingly well You go back to staring at your gorgeous girl

MummyLovesSadie · 27/07/2010 07:54

Congrats Iggy you did really well. The staring at them when they are sleeping thing NEVER stops, this is your life now!

Vjay you had a 1950's birth! I do remember somewhere in the dusty recesses of my mind when you went into labour, various Emmsy's volunteering to be your birth partner. I think you had not long moved up to Scotland then hadn't you?

mermaidspurse · 27/07/2010 08:10

iggyyou sound like you managed very well she is so beautifulx

vjay 18 points......ok and excersie =points means prizes, will have to find out what food is a point in a bit.

how many points does loo roll have then ajay

MummyLovesSadie · 27/07/2010 08:19

Mermaid here are some examples of how many points are in what food. I did it a few years ago & it worked for me.

MummyLovesSadie · 27/07/2010 08:39

Blue rofl about Morven having cats bum face & frizzy hair! This is why I'm not going to reveal my chosen name until after the birth, then you'll just have to smile politely & say "Hmmm lovely" through gritted teeth!

Iggy was your hypno cd the same as Gracies? If so I'm going to start to listen to mine again tonight!

mermaidspurse · 27/07/2010 08:46

oh golly 6-10 points for just one measy slice of pizza, am shocked, knew I shouldn't look. Looks like it's cups of lettuce and tomatoes for me then.

MummyLovesSadie · 27/07/2010 09:02

zero points soup recipe. There are a few of these on the web. You could use all your points on rose wine!

Yellowflowers · 27/07/2010 09:32

really sorry to put this on wrong thread but noticed it has my old conception friends on it - iggy, jools and C1ndy - and wanted to say hi and congrats iggy.

x

Neeko · 27/07/2010 10:45

Quick nip on as leaving to meet Blue in an hour - eeek!

Iggy Glad all went well. Clever girl for going so long on own. Enjoy.

Mermaid I'm kind of following WW too as had real success in the past with it. I was good yesterday and will aim to be good today despite Blue's attempts to lead me off the straight and narrow. No points soup is a life saver. I made the carrot and corriander - yum!

Jools welcome to the diet club. Hope the PMT eases. I'm dreading my first AF cos I'll be like a monster.

Someone asked about shoogling.. It just more or less means rocking and shushing but is a much better word I think.

Aim to be back on here later tonight as I'm conscious that I'm consistently missing posting to people such as PFJ and Louey No offence meant. Remind me again how you all have time for Facebook??

loueytbg · 27/07/2010 14:20

Oooh neeko and blue hope you have a fun time meeting up.

iggy well done you for getting all that way using your hypnobirthing. Please don't feel sad that you didn't get to the end - babies have their own agenda and the important thing is you have a healthy gorgeous little daughter to stare at. I still go and look at my sleeping boys every night before I go to bed. Can't imagine not doing it.

mls am kind of with your DH on morven. Sorry. Think you are quite right not to tell us what names you have until after he she is born . If it makes you feel any better, DH was equally an arse when it came to name choosing. His list consisted of cyril and sidney. I kid you not. He vetoed everything on my list and didn't come up with a single sensible alternative. Then, the night before they were born, we went out for a last supper (we'd found out that day we were going to have c-section next morning) and I put my foot down and said we had to have names before they were born. Lo and behold we came up with 4 names over dinner....

mermaid I remember looking at the WW list and couldn't believe how many points there were in pork pies You are a lady after my own heart if you want to find out how many points there are in wine

vjay LOL at Ajay and the toilet roll. Was he trying to tell you something Well done on day 1 of diet. Can visualise the pounds melting away and a bit of exercise and they will vanish into thin air. (And no, running around after children doesn't count but it does help )

jools sorry about the PMT. Your description of snoring DP made me laugh though. So there is some consolation from working away from home.

blue thank you for kind words about the pics. Am quite pleased with it although actually decor came totally from the next directory...can you tell I'm one of their biggest customers.

cupcake bbq sounded like fun, especially when you have a well behaved baby

barbie are you in loved up heaven

4ever how did the jabs go?

Waves to mrskate, curly and all the other emmsys.

Thank you for all your help re acupuncture. mls the one you posted is a bit too far away but I will have a look using the website and see if I can find someone nearer. I went out to dinner with my little sister last night. She is TTC#1 but no AF after coming off the pill last August and they've recently found out that her DH has a low sperm count as well . She's waiting for a referral to a fertility specialist but in the meantime, she's going to try....wait for it....acupuncture. I hadn't even mentioned it to her either.

4everhopeful · 27/07/2010 17:42

Hi girls, sorry in advance for me post.. S jabs were fine, Dh held her, she did scream, but seems ok, everything else good with her thankfully! 11lb & 75%tile still.. However as for me & post natal check, i have prolapse of the rear wall of my fanjo.. Tmi but was checking stitches healed & noticed little lump thought maybe piles in bottom of fanjo, not causing probs as dh & i (gently) had sex last week, but am struggling goin to loo which thought was due to constipation & piles? Been googling & is caused by long labour, difficult delivery, forceps, episiotomy & constipation so i tick all the boxes.. Doc reckons dont need treatment as still want more babies asap, unless it starts causing problems, in which case will eventually involve surgery! More than a little freaked out, keep trying to focus on fact that sex & future pregs dont have to be affected but still not nice! Anyone know anything about this, any experience etc? What an embarrassing problem cant believe im sharing but hey you lot kno enough other details!

VJay · 27/07/2010 20:39

Hi 4ever I've heard of prolapse before but don't know anybody that's had it, or know much about it, so not very helpful, sorry. Well done to S being a brave wee girl today

OP posts:
VJay · 27/07/2010 21:05

DH is sitting next to me eating crisps and drinking full fat coke, the b@$&@£d

neeko my no point soup is the one from WW, you need a can of chopped tomatoes, 2 chopped carrots, a chopped onion, a chopped courgette and halp a pint of veg stock. Just cover and cook until veg is soft, and blend.

OP posts:
Neeko · 27/07/2010 21:08

Evening all.
Had a lovely, lovely day with Blue and her gorgeous boys. M and I got on really well and were well behaved. Even hard work H behaved herself.
Biggest stress of the day for me came when I was leaving the car park as the two idiots drivers in front of me hadn't paid for their tickets and caused a queue of about 20 cars whilst they sorted it out. H was screaming the place down as she was tired and needed a moving car to sleep and M was moaning about H crying. Grr.

Louey Sorry to hear about your sister's problems TTC too Hope you both have BFPs soon and can support one another. Lol at the pork pies though I remember being distraught when I saw how many points were in puff pastry too.

Vjay Carrot and corriander soup. Bag of carrots peeled and roughly chopped, 1 chopped onion, 2 veg stock cubes, some black pepper and a handful of fresh corriander.

Put all ingredients in a pot and cover with water. Boil until carrots are soft then blitz with a hand blender. Delicious and really easy.

I'm hoping DH will be home soon as I'm trying to stay out of the fridge...

4ever sorry to hear about the prolapse. Did the doctor say anything about using pelvic toners? Glad Summer got on ok. Jags are horrible but a necessary evil.

Neeko · 27/07/2010 21:10

Hark at us and our recipe swapshop Vjay Shouldn't your DH be working on the garage conversion?

MLS Are you still playing with your new pram?

VJay · 27/07/2010 21:15

Lol, poor DH, it was his day off today and he spent the morning in work and the afternoon fitting a tow bar onto the car.

OP posts:
Neeko · 27/07/2010 21:18

Poor nothing. When's your day off Vjay

MummyLovesSadie · 27/07/2010 21:22

4ever my next-door-neighbour had a prolapsed fanjo & she found that dtd was quite painful. She had an op last year & is now back to normal. If you can live with it then it's probably wise to wait until you've had more babies as you don't want an op if there is a possibility of you tearing again in childbirth.

Louey it sounds like both your sister & her dh could do with treatment. Maybe if the three of you went you'd get a family discount!! I still think you should try & get a recommendation from someone on mn because they have probably been treated by someone who specialises in fertility issues. Don't ask me which section of mn you should look at though!

Neeko glad to hear your meet with Blue went well. So....... what did you both eat??!

Barbie I meant to say to you the other day, try to counteract your fears about dd not being a baby forever by thinking of the positive points to her becoming a toddler. For example: making cakes together, her first 'drawings' that you will display on your fridge with pride, painting her toenails pink, singing silly songs together, letting her play hairdressers whilst she totally tangles your hair up in a hairbrush, dressing her up as a fairy so she can run around on her tiptoes 'gracefully' knocking things over with her wand - can you tell I like being a Mummy to a girl?!!

Talking about my girl, she came out with a classic today. She followed me to the toilet & said "Mummy you've got a beard on your bits"!

VJay · 27/07/2010 21:23

I'm having an afternoon off on the 5th August , it's scheduled

OP posts:
VJay · 27/07/2010 21:26

mls that's ace

Good advice to barbie, I've had some real teary moments over Ajay growing up so fast, but I'm getting used to it now, I bloomin well have to really, he's practically a toddler now. I'm resisting buying him shoes, but know I've got to do it soon.

OP posts:
MummyLovesSadie · 27/07/2010 21:32

Vjay that soup recipe sounds great, I think I'd have to put a bit of garlic in it though & maybe some coriander or parsley. Oh & lets not forget the bloody great big slab of white bread dripping in butter! I wonder how many points Mermaids fab watercress soup has. It has milk in it & I always use low fat Philly instead of cream.

VJay · 27/07/2010 21:33

Good idea mls. Did you watch enders tonight, I was yelling for her to RUN thinking Lucas would chase her. Ican't wait til Thursdays episode , so exciting!

OP posts:
Neeko · 27/07/2010 21:35

MLS That really made me laugh! Actually didn't eat much. I had a cappucino and a quarter of a sandwich plus a bite of DD's extortionate cookie.Couldn't get a table at a food place where we could see the kids play. We were nattering too much to eat anyway.

Vjay Where are you going?

Barbie D will always be your baby. M is almost 4 and curls up on my lap for a cuddle far more now than she did as a baby. H is not a cuddly baby either but I know I'll get them eventually.
