BESH is BACK for Spring. Come in, admire the cocktail bar stylings I have created for you. It's all lowlights and smooth sounds, and there's a rehearsal room in back for the GLEE practice.

The barman are beautiful, the Pit has been well stocked with beanbags and gin. So roll up all you 30-something BESHies who stopped counting cycles sometime in the last century, and grab a martini.

What are you shopping for?

CUNextTuesday · 30/05/2010 16:20

There's lots of manly grunting coming from the futility room - I am both intrigued and reluctant to find out what is going on...

Anyone like to hazard a guess?

Medee · 30/05/2010 16:24

a handbag, which I saw in a branch of Hobbs in Glasgow and didn't buy, and now can't find. PLus some trousers fell into the shopping basket.

Scorpette · 30/05/2010 16:44

I has been forced - FORCED, I tells ye! - to nyom my Mum's Sunday Lunch and then be generally worshipped as a living god by my Gran and Auntie (eldest grandchild/only niece syndrome, innit). It's a hard life

'Futility room' - Cunty always has the best lines

Scorpette · 30/05/2010 16:45

I'd like to see how trousers can fall into an online shopping basket, Meddler

Medee · 30/05/2010 16:50

accidental clicking?

I've just made vanilla cupcakes from the Hummingbird Bakery cook book. Om nom nom.

Scorpette · 30/05/2010 17:06

Oooh, TYF has that book! Have you tried the black bottom ones? I can't, of course, but everyone who tries one goes into raptures about them

I've been reading craft books, looking at ideas I'll forever be too lazy to try out

Medee · 30/05/2010 17:30

not yet, this was my first recipe. I really fancy the strawberry cheesecake ones, but I didn't have digestive biscuits in.

Headbanger · 30/05/2010 19:12

Poor Scorpie. That made me wince so hard I had to see an osteopath to get my shoulders back down. Howzit now? I suppose you don't really want to look. "Gore jelly" is a perfect phrase. Last year I amputated my fingertip (true story. And it grew back! I'm like a LIZARD!) and when they took the dressing off two days after Idunnit it was SOUPY. Our bodies are strange and marvellous things.

Off to make masala omelette. Let's hope Nigella wasn't lying.

Scorpette · 30/05/2010 19:55

Headbag, that makes me feel light-headed at the very thought. But was part of you thinking 'how deliciously Plath-esque!'? at the fingertip nastiness? 'Soupy' is very, very wrong but am intrigued by notion of it growing back! I get to take the dressings off on Tuesday, so can update on the gore jelly then! ('Yay' thinks everyone, looking like this: )

BTW, I realised I didn't portray TYF as the most macho of men, with his Hummingbird cookbook and whatnot, but that's-a why I love him. He also swears by the Hope & Greenwood sweeties recipe book I got him for all sorts of wicked treats.

Masala omelette sounds a bit . Let me know what it's like!

Bah, TYF won't play scrabble or Triv with me. Just because I always win...

PollyPoo · 30/05/2010 20:32

I love Triv... TG won't play either, git.

at 'Futility Room'. Is no-one else intrigued to know what Hom's been up to? Come on Cunty, do tell.

CUNextTuesday · 30/05/2010 20:53

I'm not sure I have the words to explain it

Ariesgirl · 30/05/2010 20:54

No one will play Triv with me either, not because I always win, but because I always get so obnoxiously and noisily competitive. Troo. Boardgames are banned at Christmas.

I do mostly win though

I wonder how Gin's weekend is going. Do you think she's in a vodka induced coma?

Casserole, if you're there...well...hi my sweet and I hope you're all fine.

Scorpette · 30/05/2010 21:05

I haz mildly exciting news - y'all know how I always start spotting about 6 years too early before my droid, which makes implantation impossible? Well, my droid is due on Tues or Wed. When I had the Lap, I knew it makes you start spotting as a result of the wimbledon common being manipulated, so I just presumed that I'd spot from last Monday after the Lap until the droid proper. I did have spotting after it, including proper, fresh red blood on Thurs., which made me think droid was coming early. Except it didn't. And in fact, I've had no spotting since (cue trip to toilet to discover russet gusset)! Which means that even though I would normally be spotting by now in my cycle (DPO11), I'm not doing, despite having the Lap! I think this must mean Good Things! If my body will revert to non-spotting even though it'd usually be spotting at that stage then I reckon that if I hadn't had the Lap, this would be a normal and long Luteal Phase! Am now cautiously optimistic about What It All Means

PollyPoo · 30/05/2010 21:29

Scorps that is very Good News indeed! I tell ye, those needles are magic.

I've heard some good news which has put a lovely big smile on my face... TG's step brother and his wife had a little boy about 15 months ago, gorgeous happy little chap he is. Anyway, they needed IVF cos of deformed swimmers on his part, but it worked first time. I've just heard that they are duffed again, IVF again, and it worked first time again. I am so chuffed for them, but even more excited as she is due about a week after me, so we can be duff buddies! I was/am still dreading TG's sis getting duffed and having to 'share my pregnancy' with hers, pathetic I know but she was been such an insensitive caahhh over the last year or two wrt our fertility ishooes that I just can't help myself. Anyway, the blow of her most likely getting duffed first month of trying has now been softened by the fact that SB and SSIL are duffed. Hoorah!

Anyways, am thinking of Camel speshly and hoping it works as easily for you too, because you are lovely and amazing and you damn well deserve it to be so.

PollyPoo · 30/05/2010 21:32

Cunty if words will not cover it, how about photos?

Headbanger · 30/05/2010 21:36

at thought of Aries thumping her fists on the TrivPoo board and flinging plastic cheeses in the faces of her bemused rellies.

Score that is SERIOUSLY fabbo news. Seems to me your body may be settling down and gearing up, if the things are not mutually exclusive

Poo I read that and squeaked Camel! in excited fashion. Wondrous to hear such poz IVF tales.

Masala omelette comes highly recommended. Is delumptious.

PollyPoo · 30/05/2010 21:43

I should point out also that they are not mere baybees themselves - they are both 35/36.

Ed I will have to take your word for it but I am not convinced on the curry/egg combo. In fact it is making me feel rather queasy.

Medee · 30/05/2010 21:47

great news, Scrofula

PollyPoo · 30/05/2010 21:48

I'd like to see Scorps and Aries playing Triv together... would be a sight to behold I reckon.

CUNextTuesday · 30/05/2010 21:54

poo I can't oblige on the photo front, although FWIW it did involve him being up a ladder, covered in plasterboard dust with no pants on.

Well, he's just informed me about the no pants thing, although he is wearing jeans

PollyPoo · 30/05/2010 21:58

Ooh I'm going to have some lovely dreams tonight, thanks Cunty [grin} Well... TG is away... what's a girl to do?!

CUNextTuesday · 30/05/2010 21:59

Be my guest

PollyPoo · 30/05/2010 22:04

Ta love, most obliging of you! Have this pint of gin in thanks.

Scorpette · 30/05/2010 22:07

I don't get angry or competitive when playing Triv (or whatever). What I favour is mindgames; subtly undermining the confidence of the other player(s) so they question their belief in their answers, all the time being as sweet as pie and appearing very laid back, BUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Scorps don't have the reputation for being the most twisted of all star signs for nowt, ya know

Yeah, am v chuffed with the spotting situation. I have v good feelings about Summer Diffment - for all of us! And I have super-strong good vibes about Ver Humpster and what you said about the SB and SSIL also made me get goosebumps thinking about her too. Are you listening, Cameletta? If all the BESHhope for you works, I hope you can handle being the UK's first Octomum

That masala omelette does look yummy - will have to try this week.

And Hom's pantless DIY sounds porny intriguing. Maybe we need a BESHman calendar for all our fellas to flaunt their wares in...
