Blue Yes I noticed that, but even so I'm too shattered to do anything most of the time!

LBM Hello! How is Babybelle doing today? Glad you're not so uncomforatble today.
I did ask my friend and she said that she was trying to be discreet about it. Bit as I asked her specifically to do it, and explained why. Maybe it's because she's pg and didn't want to tell them?
Anyway, I feel even more stressed out about going back now, and I really can't cope with being stressed at the moment. At least I don't get as upset when I explain it in french - most of the people at work don't speak english, so I can be a bit more detached when I tell them. It's their faces though isn't it that's the hard thing. Makes me cry just thinking about it. They are all such lovely people that they will be devastated for us, but I can feel myself panicking already knowing it's up to me to tell them...

monkeybumsmum · 12/05/2010 10:06

Have a good meeting Iggy. Lovely bump pic You do look very slim!
Did you/do you have horses? Saw your pic... I used to have ponies growing up, but haven't ridden for years now. I miss it!

Re AF, I haven't a clue how long it'll take. Am intrigued to find out! There's no chance anyone can explain now as it's half term and so no-one's back till Monday, which is when I go back. Aaagh!

cupcakefairy · 12/05/2010 11:34

Morning girls lol, vjay and monkey I hate cats killing things too! My parents had two grey cats and one once killed a squirrell; when we saw him dragging in this grey-tailed thing we thought he'd killed the other cat

iggy you look fab! That's a great bump

monkey to your friend not having told people...when I had my mc a friend at work offered to be my 'newsbreaker' telling HR, senior managers and some of my friends there and it was so helpful; that's really sad your friend hasn't explained it properly, and that you'll have pg ladies to deal with (moon & 4ever can def sympathise there!) will be thinking of you loads Monday and I hope it doesn't upset you too much.

4ever you're sooo close now can't believe it! Got quite emotional reading your posts too; you have come full circle lady and all those medical staff will be reminded why they do the job they do when they meet your dd

LBM congrats on the iron being up...I had blood taken again yesterday to check mine. Have been a bit naughty not taking the prescribed amount of pills & trying to make up for it with diet... just couldn't handle the nasty bowel movements anymore (tmi sorry!) Hope your friend makes it to lunch! I was meant to meet the only other still-pregnant girl in my NCT group today but she had to be induced yesterday so I am well and truly lagging behind! And having a cinema date with just bump today
Thanks for reminding me re curtains- we seriously need to get some blackout blinds for our room...

I've been meaning to say thanks gracie & Isabelle for the CDs too they are so fab. Problem is I always fall asleep about 10 mins in though so probably missing some vital breathing exercise! But it's lovely to have that rest

Hi mermaid and also where is jools...hope you're ok if you're lurking.

OP posts:
iggypiggy · 12/05/2010 11:46

oooh - I x-posted with blue earlier - good luck with the bottles - as i am a worrier, it is one of the things I worry about already... well first of all I won't that I somehow won't be able to breastfeed - then I worry that I won't be able to feed ebm in a bottle..

monkey I think I love you - am far from slim! Although I do appear to be all bump at the mo. The pic up there is me on my horse last year - he is now on loan to a teenager who loves him and will have him until I am ready to get back on! You should have a go at riding again - especially going out on a hack or something - just being in the countryside on a beautiful horse always clears my head

Shame they didn't say how long it could be for AF - although I guess it mgiht be one of those things that just varies... everything crossed for an arrival soon tho.

cupcake what you going to watch? I love the cinema!

cupcakefairy · 12/05/2010 11:54

Going to see that J-Lo film The Back-Up Plan.. I'm a bit scared though as I'm sure there will be some unpleasant birth type scenes!!

Can I join your worriers' club? I am just worried about everything to do with feeding and sleeping and bathing and...

OP posts:
iggypiggy · 12/05/2010 12:02

cupcake of course you can join - but we both have to tell ourselves that we will be fantastic and everything will be fine I am trying to tell myself that cos it makes me feel better!

Meant to say - i also read the new mum tips - and one really good one was that babies are really good at telling you what they need.

4everhopeful · 12/05/2010 13:54

Hey girlies your all so lovely & ill pop back later for proper posts to you all! I just made myself cry writing a 'father' card to dh to in with his daddy gifts! It started 'to the best daddy in the world, im so excited to finally meet you...' Gulp! I want to make it all extra special for my wonderful ddddddddh as he has just been so amazing! Gush! ....Cupcake & Iggy can i join your worriers club too? Cupcake so pleased u mentioned that thread, its fab isnt it?! .....Must just offer a hug to Monkey will def be back to post properly later! X

loueytbg · 12/05/2010 14:25

Hello - I'm just popping in to say I have been lurking and reading. Just have no time to do a proper post at the mo. DS1 has lots of appointments which I am dealing with, along with all the other crap. Nursery appt yesterday, 2 speech therapy appts and an occupational therapy appt tomorrow. Somewhere in amongst all that I'm supposed to be working...

Hopefully things will calm down by the end of the week .

MummyLovesSadie · 12/05/2010 14:25

Good morning afternoon all. I must say it's nice to log on & sense the excited vibe that is running through our thread today!

Monkey I'm feeling fine thanks except I keep getting really shocking headaches but I'm not complaining. I'm glad to hear you sounding perkier, but of course you are not just going to 'bounce back'. It's not like you're recovering from an illness or something. On the subject of you wanting to ttc again eeeeek! I'm really excited for you. Have you considered temping? It's something you could start now & it would make you feel like you are in control & taking a step in the right direction. If I were you I really wouldn't go into any detail with your colleagues at this stage about what happened to you. I'd just say something like "I was pregnant but it didn't work out & I had to spend some time in hospital". You can save details for when you feel more able to explain.

4ever 10 days!!!!! Omg, it's going to whizz by for you now. I know what you mean about missing your bump, maternity clothes & the positive attention you get when you are pregnant. It is all a bit of a shock to the system when you transform from a radiant smiling pregnant woman to one of those women in the supermarket with a screaming baby in the trolley, massive bags under her eyes, baby puke down her top & tripping over her own feet with tiredness! I'm sure it won't be too many months until you'll be needing to wear your maternity clothes again!

Blue I can't believe you go back to work in 9 weeks - where did that time go?

Neeko thinking of you today having to go to your meeting, hope you are not too stressed. Will text you after I've sent this.

Cupcake I'm 18+2 according to my calculations but according to the hospital I'm 19+1. I have another super-douper scan at Kings College in a week and a half & later that week my 20 week scan at my local hospital. I'm glad the mlu has given you a positive outlook for your labour.

LBM what are you up to today? Still sorting things out or are you finally managing to put your feet up?

Iggy I'm loving the new bump pic on your profile & I love the way you have taken them all in the same position so you can really see the difference. Is that a snowman in your bathroom???!

Right I have bump pic envy now so I'm going to try & take a decent pic of mine!

iggypiggy · 12/05/2010 14:56

mls it gets far sadder than that... I have collated them in photoshop into one big picture so you can see the week by week growth (I take them on the same day each week).

Def take pic of yours

barbie1 · 12/05/2010 15:23

hello....

monkey im for you because of your colleague. Could you perhaps send a card into work or email them all saying what mls has just said. Just so they have a heads up on the matter and can digest the news before you show your face back at work? Just a though...I don't think any of us 'bounce back' more like a slow crawl to the surface where we can eventually see the sunshine on the horizon. I did smile when you wrote about ttc again, i do really believe it will happen for you.

mls 19 weeks????? jeeeeezzzeee that went by very quickly (not for you i'm sure!) as for the headaches i had them too, try rubbing the (white) tiger balm over your forehead, works a treat!

iggy lovely bump! Glad you liked the email... cupcake and 4ever did you receive it
Makes so much sense, well it did to me and curly, speaking of which im glad it cheered you up.

Dh is here peering over my shoulder and putting me off, he keeps asking the history of each and everyone of you, bless! but now isnt the time when im making the most of Devon (finally) being asleep. Im going to send him to the gym and come back soon x

VJay · 12/05/2010 15:40

Lovely busy thread today

4ever 10 days and , so so exciting

mls 19 weeks, that has gone by very fast. I was thinking of your dd's bogie beehive the other day as I watched darling ds1 pick his nose

barbie enjoy D's nap time, Ajay is napping right now and it's nice to have some me time, on here

blue I hope B starts to take the bottle for you soon. Ajay was really hard to take to it, he just didn't like it, but when I stopped feeding him he just did it, no idea why, but I did give him his first one when he was half alseep in the middle of the night, so he was maybe too sleepy to realise , not sure really.

iggy love your bump picture, and what's that sitting next to your sink, a snowman?, it wasn't there last time

louey good to 'see' you, I hope the appts. settle soon, I had this in the beginning with ds1, but it has settled a lot now

pfj where are you?

cupcake enjoy the film, and take a pillow and ear plugs so you can block out the birth scene

monkey I understand where your coming from about 'bouncing back', I'm sure PIL didn't mean to offend, they just meant it in a nice way. Other people really can't say the right thing at times like this. Am a little bit at you wanting to get pg again, mls's idea of temping is a really good one, like she says, gives you some control, that's what I liked about it.

mermaid hello lovely

Big waves to eveyone

MummyLovesSadie · 12/05/2010 15:44

Waves to Barbie, Vjay & Louey.

Bump pic added.

iggypiggy · 12/05/2010 15:48

ah yes vjay and mls it is actually a penguin... wearing a scarf...

VJay · 12/05/2010 16:06

mls that's a lovely pic and I love your living room

iggy thanks for clearing that up, how nosy are we!!!

Hermya321 · 12/05/2010 16:07

Hello,

don't mind me, I'm just being a bit nosy and popping over to see MLS, I hadn't seen you on the October thread for a while and was wondering if everything was ok for you.

I can see from your bump picture that you're still going strong though and that makes me really happy for you.

cupcakefairy · 12/05/2010 16:44

Hi louey glad you are still lurking somewhere...hope the appointments for ds1 have positive outcomes.

MLS wow so nearly 20 weeks, that's amazing! Hope the scan at Kings is really reassuring so you can just start to look forward to everything

barbie yes did get the email, thank you though I think it will resonate with me a bit more in a few weeks' time! At the moment it just scares me a little

iggy of course we will be fantastic at everything

4ever I'm really going to miss being pregnant too! Making the most of my last few days! Dh and I off out for dinner again tonight (neeko, another date clocked in ) and just trying to savour it all!

The JLo film was quite sweet actually bump and I enjoyed.

OP posts:
barbie1 · 12/05/2010 16:57

arrrghhh bloody men, decided to hang around me and nosey at all of you girlies instead of going to the gym Devon then woke again, so that makes only 40 mins sleep all day.. just fed her back to sleep without her regualr bath and she still isnt in her pj's...oh well i doubt she will sleep too long and next time ill change her.

Quick question more a wwyd? She like too sleep on her tummy for the last few days she has slept a full 6 hours but it meant one of us staying awake to watch her as im too paranoid to let her sleep like that even though she can lift her head and turn it to either side. The thing is we cant stay awake until 2am each night and if we try to turn her she wakes so do i have a very over tired baby each day and let her sleep on her back for a few hours only or have a happy baby and increase risk of SIDs or 3rd option let her sleep on her tummy but one of us takes in turns to stay awake

lovely bump mls nice house too...

leouy glad you havent left us..sorry rl is very busy for you at this time, look forward to your return, hope all your appointments go well..

neeko was it today the marking started?

Today i met with 6 other mums in one of the villas and we all had a pedicure while we passed the babies around! Devon was the only one who didnt sleep for the whole 5 hours we were there while all the others slept at least twice....but on the plus side she is the most advanced, ie turning head, interacting and generally the most alert oh and all the baby boys were besotted with her!

mermaid you ok my lovely?

vjay snort at the tits comment! how are you doing? hope ajay says asleep longer then my tiny terror!

moon i hope things are improving in rl for you...

Barbie waves to everyone else, must dash to make some dinner while hoping baby sleeps through...

Love to you all xxx

barbie1 · 12/05/2010 16:59

whoops didnt mean to scare you cupcake prehapes i was a little to hasty in sending it too you so soon...sorry!

MummyLovesSadie · 12/05/2010 18:45

Hermya I'm really sorry I didn't mean to worry you . I know I've been slack & that is very sweet of you to check on me.

I had no laptop for a week as it was being repaired & then I went to Scotland for a week & when I came back I had a quick look at the thread but saw the amount of posts & thought I'll read through it properly when I have a bit of time & it just didn't happen . I will be back on the thread shortly for a proper catch up.

MummyLovesSadie · 12/05/2010 18:49

Barbie, normally when a baby is old enough to turn it's head, it can sleep on it's tummy if it is most comfortable like that.

If you don't feel happy with letting her sleep on her tummy, perhaps you could invest in one of these for the sake of your sanity & to get some sleep!

MummyLovesSadie · 12/05/2010 18:57

Oh & the other thing I was going to say Barbie is that your dd sounds just like mine was when she was a baby. She was always the first to reach milestones like lifting her head, sitting up, crawling etc. but she was always the most hard work too! It was almost as though she was impatient to get to the next stage of her development, whereas all my friends' babies were happy to be rocked in their car seats & gaze around. I wouldn't be surprised if you find that your dd starts to talk early & quickly develops a large vocabulary too.

bluesatinsash · 12/05/2010 20:37

monkey - sorry I didn't have time to reply to your post this morning but echo what the others have suggested. I asked my boss to tell colleagues and nothing was ever mentioned to me other than them asking if I was OK which was all I could cope with anyway.. So feeling for you having to work with pg colleagues . 4ever had to contend with that too and it broke her heart some days but we did say to her it will be your turn and by golly it was and she was sent packing with her baby shower gifts a few weeks ago. It will be your turn and you will get there Thinking about ttc is a teeny tiny step into the light x

MLS - loving the bump and your hair and your coffee table o chuffed for you being 19 weeks - way to go!

Neeko txted me earlier to say H only took 1.5 oz of bottle whilst she was at markers meeting and had petter lip when she arrived home - poor love. Bet she pounced on the mummy milk

barbie - B slept on his side for the first few weeks, he was just comfier that way.. I can see why you are anxious as books say big no no but can she move her head yet? Its a tricky one as she is obivously v. comfy in that position (I love to sleep on my tummy).

Vjay - Ben took 1oz from bottle this morning, no crying either but interspenced it with my boob so he saw it as more of a game. Going to keep it up every morning at that feed... Dare I ask how the birds are tonight ?

Iggy - loving your bump photo. DH took a polaroid of me a la Demi Moore every month on my EDD 'date' with DS1 and its really funny if you flick them fast its like my bump is growing before you eyes apart from last one as I have bright red tummy from sunbathing in the gorgeous month that was May 2006!

Louey - man, you're having a stressful bust week . Hope you can rest up this weekend and partake in some vino.

Cupcake - loving that you are savouring time with your DH .

LBM - you are the Cath Kidston of this thread . Can so picture you with your sweing box. Hope you enjoyed tea at your friend's.

Right, off to join DH on couch x

littlebellsmum · 13/05/2010 08:35

Ho hum, another morning nearer to meeting my baby!

blue cath kidson - I'd love to think that was the case but not really. Having said that, if this baby doesn't hurry up the whole house will be padded at this rate! I've just measured up for more curtain type things in the kids rooms - if anyone wasn't worked it out, I only do square sewing. Will make anythng as long as its square but clever things like clothes - not me! I'm now planning some flaps of material to cover the kids storage bench - my very clever DH has built a long bench in the kids room that has loads of sections underneath to store toys and the idea was that I would put material on the front so that it would look tidier. 15 months later this hasn't happened (he is so much quicker than me!) , but it's looking like today is the day! Will post some photos as I'm getting quite pleased with my handiwork! Think I need to make the most of this sudden energy burst that I have.

And now other people
blue and neeko - naughty Ben and Hannah - playing games with bottles. Don't they know that it is the key to their salvation? ( and yours!)

barbie I love the idea of the group pedicure! What a great plan and getting started so early. Yummy mummy status is yours!

cupcake hope you had a lovely dinner last night. DH and I need to go out soon - if we can tear ourselves away from making things! And I so know what you mean about the bad effects of iron but for me it's worth it to go to the birthing centre. And I have now fiished doing anything to do with work!

MLS Nearly 20 weeks! Wow, that went so fast ( but probably not for you) and the bump picture of you and DD is just so lovely.

iggy are you at 30 weeks now? That also flew - the power of the sand...
Tempted to start bouncing but might wait untill I've finished the next job...

Anyway, got to go - got consultant appointment soon, need to put washing out and am hoping for a 15 minute hyponobirth sess first!

GracieGirl · 13/05/2010 12:25

Just a really quick post. Iggy and Cupcake don't worry you will be fine! Either that or you'll be too tired to worry about it.

4ever 9 days!!!!!!!!!

Isabelle's asleep on my bed, I'm also a fan of Barbie style james bond manoevures to escape from my room after feeding her to sleep.

Monkey I told my boss to tell everyone about my miscarriage so no one asked me where I'd been or said anything inappropriate. I'd got pregnant on my honeymoon so I was getting lots of "isn't it about time you got up the duff" comments, that seem to be the usual thing after a wedding. Only one person didn't get the message and asked me loudly in front of lots of people to hurry up and get pregnant (on my first week back). She was mortified when someone explained.

I'm just off out with my sister in law to be, we're going wedding dress shopping!! how exciting!! I've leaving Isabelle with DH who is off work today with a bottle of EBM that I know she won't take either!
