So - any news yet?
I've just spent the last 30 mins catching up - you ladies are so chatty , you would think that new arrivals are afoot!

Thank you for all the lovely messages - they mean such a lot.

BabyBelle finally has a name - after a few days of thought. We love your suggestions and have thought about most of them - we already have a Jenny, Jocelyn and Jessica in the family , so that limited us a bit. Also, when we met her, we didn't like the more flowerly names - Jocasta/ Jocinta or Juliet. My fave was Jesme but when you add it to our surname, it becomes too close to Jezabell ( sorry, Mermaid or MLS!)

So, we even tried voting but at the end of the day the dc's had the final choice and she is now Joanna Emily.

And very lovely she is too - the spitting image of her sister at the same age. Normally very chilled with very loud hicups.
Loads of hair and has already found her thumb. DH adores her as does the rest of the family.

You were all right as well, as an elective section, we had to be in for 8am but didn't go to theatre untill after 12. Which was odd as on the post section ward, I was the only section done that day [hmmm]

But in the end it didn't matter as she's here and lovely.

I will try and add photos to my profile and also get back with more personals later in the week
Thanks for all the section tips - they have been great and you are right, barbie, it really wasn't that bad, although I tried a bit of light pruning in the garden today and thought I'd strained something!

Got to go - BabyJ is looking for food and as she has lost too much weight ( and they nearly kept us in for an extra night as she isn't pooing as much as she should be), I need to feed her as often as I can.
Has anyone else tried introducing formula in the first week and still managed to keep bfeeding? I really don't want to give up completly but need her to gain weight as the midwives were really quite worried about her and I have a history of not having enough milk?

Will be back tomorrow - if I resit texting 4ever in the meantime!

QuestionsAgain · 23/05/2010 20:41

Checking in again! They say no news is good news....

4ever keeping everything crossed that things are progressing well and you are all zen like and enjoying it all!

Lol at mermaid time checking cupcake! C'mon cupcake it's only fair that you get on with it before mermaid goes on her hols, though to be fair it does sound like you are doing your bit to get it going Er, but we will forgive you if you don't feel it necessary to take it that step further, injesting?

mls great that you have got your scans coming up this week. Meant to say the photo of you, your DD and bump is just gorgeous

gracie you probably had other things occupying your mind at the time of labour, rather than texting. I didn't contact anyone when I went in to labour and agree with cupcake that I wouldn't again either. Though that's fine when it is me, but when i am waiting for news like now, i am soooooo impatient

vjay 18 days overdue, wow!

barbie it's must be lovely to have your mum there helping out

monkeythedomesticgoddess In your nightie and coverered in berry juice, how very Nigella of you

Thanks to you all for the kind words about the bad dream,it's awful how vivid your imagination can make it cupcake sorry that you also had them too. did they last long? Am hoping it was a one off as have been thinking about it a lot today.

4everhopeful · 24/05/2010 02:44

I love u ladies cant tell u what it means that ur all rooting for us! Well sunday was a bit of a non entity, she wouldnt behave for monitor so until they got good hb trace they wouldnt give 2nd pessary, tho think the midwife may not of been the best at it cos fine since others did it, also ward chocca block with labouring ladies so was also a space issue, this resulted in my nice regular contractions stopping & Dh & i goin stir crazy but we kept jokin thru the many boughts of my anxiety, he has been great.. Love him so much.. Alot of mixed emotions today, will tell all in birth story! So feelin a bit p'd off it had all stopped & 2nd pessary not given as our midwife ended up delivering baby next door, then about midnight finally new midwife did internal, but hurt so much she stopped, finally doc came nearly an hour ago, & bingo, pessary 2 is finally in! Head is v low but still not dilated so in 6hrs hopefully will be enough to break waters then they reckon will be quick! Am posting while lying down bein monitored for this 1st hour of pessary then gonna sleep while i can, & hopefully, as u have all said, when active labour finally kicks in, ill be rendered totally useless & unable to use phone, hence this rambly long update now! DDDDH sleepin soundly on his mattress on the floor next to me bless him! Hopefully will happen before mermaid jets off, good luck to mls tomorrow too! Thank u so much to you all, specially all the lurkers posting bless ya! Love u all so much & been talking of u constantly, as usual u have helped stop me goin insane! Hoping tomorrow will be our day & wont be in need of the distraction tho! X x x x x

barbie the time difference may work in your favour as you will up in the middle of the night (our time) and it seems most babies are born then!

cupcake hope you are ok too, at least this hot weather is meant to cool down quite alot this week, so you can labour and not be so hot

Looks like summer is going to be born on my anniversary!
Ive got a date tonight with the dh

Nearly book a hotel room.....just so we can sleep!, decided instead on a movie date, something we cant do with Devon.

mls 20 weeks congrats!

mermaid you do make me chuckle!

lbm well im no expert but i was told to introduce a formula bottle as soon as possible (we didnt though)... express as much as you can while the formula feed takes place. the more you express and feed her the more your milk will come in...your lo will soon be back to her fighting weight!

GracieGirl · 24/05/2010 08:55

Morning!

LBM - are you wonderwoman?????? Pruning?? Please stop it you are putting us all to shame!! you are supposed to be in your PJs, with unwashed hair, and doing nothing useful except looking after your baby for at least the next month or two! What a lovely name! I don't know about formula feeding but looking back at my feed chart days 3-7 she was feeding up to 27 times a day!!! It definately sorted my milk supply.

4ever I hope you be giving us some news soon. Well done for posting.

MLS 20 weeks!

Moon pleased to hear you had a lovely weekend.

Mermaid - Edwina!

Barbie I so understand about booking a hotel to sleep.. My Mum babysat for us for 2 hours a few weeks ago so we could go to the pub, we were so tempted to just go to my parents house whilst they were out and sleep at theirs and just pretend we'd been to the pub!

Waves to QA.

Hello Curly and Buddha!

littlebellsmum · 24/05/2010 09:22

Just lurking for news - thanks for the updates on feeding. I thought you had added formula in early, curly and your words are especially helpful as it might give her more strength to feed better. I'm trying to avoid the bottle as it feels ( to me) that I'm failing again but it might be a good thing. Think we'll try tonight with a little bottle and see how we go.

BTW - I know that formula feeding is not failing but bfing is a big challenge for me and this time I determined not to let it take over, so I don't have a pump and will not be expressing as I'd rather she fed as often as she likes, which, as GG says seems to be all day at the mo!

And as for the pruning - I was sitting in the garden and just needed to prune a couple of dead twigs whilst directing the dc's to water the plants for me!

Back later to hear more about baby4ever

iggypiggy · 24/05/2010 09:38

Hello all am back from my holiday!

Lurked on Phone yesterday for baby news - am so excited/ impatient about hearing from 4ever

Also cheering on babycupcake LBM huge congratulations! Lovely name too! xxx

Quick wave to everyone else and will catch up as soon as I can!

anniebigpants · 24/05/2010 09:59

Lurking for baby news! Come on baby 4ever and also baby cupcake-come on baby cupcake-its nice out here-honestly!

iggy-Hope you had nice holiday and came back all refreshed.

LBM-Love your new DD,s name! Good luck with the BF, i found it so hard and have utmost respect to ladies who can manage to keep it going.

Barbie-Happy Anniversary and enjoy your night with DH, i had a little smile when you said you were tempted to book a hotel room to sleep, on our first night out after having Ellis, DH and i were tempted to ask our friend who was watching the DC,s at our house, if we could go to her house to have a few hours sleep! We decided to go out and have a meal instead-which was nice.

MLS-Wow 20 weeks! Is it today your next scan?

Moon-Glad you had nice weekend away.

QA-Thanks for nice comment about my boys, DS1 is so protective over his brother, and DS2 just loves his big brother to pieces. The age gap suits me just fine, as DS1 is so good at keeping his brother entertained like when im getting dressed.

mermaid_hello lovely lady, bet you are looking forward to your hols tomorrow-all packed yet?

Right, gotta go, E is demanding my attention! Big waves to ggBQVJayBlueBuddhacurlySabs and anyone else who is lurking.

Joolsiam · 24/05/2010 10:34

Hi Ladies

Sorry to be absent for so long, and what a momentous day to pop my head round the corner of the greenhouse

OK, shaking my pom poms for baby 4Ever and baby Cupcake

Huge congrats to LBM and baby Joanna

Happy anniversary to Mr and Mrs Barbie

Have a fantastic holiday Mermaid

Congrats on 20 weeks MLS Monkey - you are still in my thoughts - it must get a little easier every day I hope.

Hello to QA - glad you are TTC'ing again - we need some 2WW nailbiters to get us all going ! Hope the mucky weekend was productive Moon

Waves to everyone else - I'm working manic 12 hour days away with work and living out of a suitcase - kind of loving rediscovering part of the old me, but it doesn't leave much time for anything but work at the mo.

counselling sessions started last week - apparently I have post traumatic stress disorder from the 2nd MC bloodbath. Talking about it freaked me out for a few days, but I think talking is the way to go, rather than bottling it up. Still on AD's but hoping to start wearning off them next month.

Still no real TTC action to speak of, and still trying to restrict my MN time and consider life without kids ....

Back soon to check on our almost saggy panters

monkeybumsmum · 24/05/2010 11:01

Hello!!! No news yet? Come on baby4ever and babycupcake Wonder if 4ever's pushing yet!

LBM Lovely to hear from you, you sound like a supermum Gorgeous name, it's really pretty! Don't beat yourself up about the bf'ing, it is so difficult so whatever you manage to do is great. Hope the little bottle this evening helps.

Jools Lovely to see you back, you sound very busy! Sounds great re rediscovering yourself, sometimes it's good to do that. I was reminded last night of the old me - we ended up having a late night with the neighbours, and we got a little tipsy - felt like I did when dh and I had just met all those years ago Funny what a glass and a half of red can do
Sorry to hear about the PTSD, but not surprising considering what happened. It's a very positive step to be getting it all out. The longer those feelings are left to fester the more damage they can do imo.

MLS Good luck today x

Am sure I had something else to say to somebody...no...it's gone Will pop back on if it comes back to me!

Right, back outside it is for me - been planting lavender and those big daisy plants - anyone know what they're called?
Come on cupcake and 4ever!!!
