So, I thought I'd take it upon myself to kickstart the new thread. As the title suggests, this is a wonderful home full of the bravest, funniest and most inspirational women on Mumsnet, who are always ready to lend an ear and a virtual glass of wine.

The new thread is kicked off with 3 bfps in 3 days, so here's to more love and luck along the way

morning girls,

clareanna the magic cream is called Serenity natural progesterone cream, if you go to www.progesterone.co.uk you can buy it from there, it costs about twenty quid. I don't even have the pre menstrual rage I usually get on the build up. Apparently it's supposed to help my bean stick. We shall see!

cheepz glad all went well and you're doing ok. Good to hear docs are being helpful about it too. Even though it's proper shitstick circumstances and would rather not have you back here if you know what I mean?! it's jolly nice to have you around Oh, and don't get me started on goodwill texts. They make me want to text back 'fuck right off!'

viv i think i looked at my monitor too early yesterday morning, am on cd27 today so think list was only a day out. Would update it but am using my phone so can't, would you do the honours for me please lovely? Merci x

jules & kado i hope i got that right?! Welcome, sorry you are here, as the others have said this is a great place to vent and share it all and a great support when you are going through something that
can sometimes be quite hard to talk about in RL.

Still no sign of RTD. Or any pg symptoms either. i guess it's my WTF cycle and I did ovulate a couple of days later than usual. Nothing to do but wait! Have a good day all x

Ooh Clareanna, how funny! Whereabouts were you staying? And what kind of PR do you do?

I was in a hotel near Blackfriars as my office is just off Fleet Street - was supposed to be having a meeting with The Times this morning but it got cancelled.

Feeling a bit less maudlin after my kick up the jacksy. Had a dream last night that my friend's cat wouldn't stop following me around and sitting on my lap, and that this was a sign that I'm pregnant because the cat had some sort of feline sixth sense.

GYAC - I'm allergic to cats!

littlemiss72 · 01/04/2010 09:31

Funny you should mention cats, when I was pregnant my DP's cat kept sitting on my lap and purring! How strange, the damm thing didn't like me before that.

Ooh maybe a sign ViV hope your stay in the London hotel wasn't too painful.

MrsGazebo · 01/04/2010 09:31

Hi de hi campers,
How are we all on this lovely spring bleedin gale force 9 of a morning?
I'm thinking today will be probably not be the best time to get my hair cut.

Welcome Jules and Kado, sorry you've found yourselves here but we're a mad good bunch.

Cheepz < unravels scroll > as it has been said and will be said again, you really are an inspiration.
I read your "onwards and upwards" post on the train and had a lump in my throat.
It is ok to still throw things and vent occasionally though

Mothercare, opposite hell work opened yesterday, a day early.

It was supposed to open today.
I was not supposed to be there.
As I was made agreed to move stores to be used help.
But I was there and I had to go in and tourture myself.
When I found out that we were getting a Mothercare I'd just got my successful scan.
I'd envisaged I would be first in the queue with a big bump, elbowing the ribbon cutting shite local DJ outa the way.
But no, I wandered around stroking things trying very hard to picture these items in my life.

Not to even mention* how much footfall it's going to bring in = money!!
Something we've not been seeing much of in my store.
I'm not going to be there! = No bonus for me!

*ooops I did mention

Time for a bit winge me thinks, but I promise to end more positive, well kind of .

Jules, Kalo sorry you're here. Your stories are all too familiar . But here you know you're not on your own and you can feel normal in the obsessive ups and downs of recovery and TTC again.

UtheS are you really going for barron old hag status? Tis a strong move and I respect you for it, if you really believe that time has come for you.

GLB I feel for you on the seeing duffers that are due when you would have been. I feel things starting to haunt me now. A friend just had a little boy last week by elect CC - she announced she was 13weeks preg the day I confirmed my last preg with Dr - I thought we'd be doing maternity leave together. Also the partner of someone at work is due in 3 weeks and the birth planning and excitment don't make great cheer up conversation for me. Neither of these people know I had MMC at 12 weeks.

Cheepz just wanted to say thanks for your positive posts. A life of counted blessings is a wonderful life. But before we all hoist you onto a pedestal remember that this is also the place where you can stamp your feet and shout not fair, not fair!!!! Because sometimes it's not.

So the best bank holiday of the year IMO is upon us and RTD is here. Boo. Tis also my birthday and I shall be bloated, spotty, ratty and generally not very sociable - I think I shall drink myself into a temporary state of jollity.

Wine, beer and champers in the fridge to share - help your elf when you feel the weekend has begun - I think I may have to wait until later but the thought is there.

Clareanna I will be raising a glass of chilled champers to you at the weekend - Happy Friggin Birthday!!!! I shall be celebrating hitting 38 with everything I wish I couldn't have, and lots of it .

Goodluckbear · 01/04/2010 11:05

Word up ladies.

Cheepz - so glad it went ok. That was a superstar post there. Tell them to stick their platitudes.

Underneath - will miss you, hope the red wine is top nothc and the blue cheese suitably blue. All the best to you xxxx

Barrenbrook - hmmm, yes, the wait - am keeping fingers crossed for you!

Kalo - welcome, sorry about your mc. The stats are:
TTC# - for you this is 2
UCL - usual cycle length, (e.g. for me 28 days)
Cycle - this is the number cycle you're on - i.e. cycle 2 means you've been ttc for 2 cycles. Often we call the first cycle post mc as the WTF cycle, because we don't know what's going on...
CD - cycle day, i.e. what day of your cycle you're on. Anyway, if you like you can post what your stats are and someone clever (Littlemiss, Viv,...) will put you on the list!!

Slimyak - sorry RTD arrived, hope you treat yourself to some pampering over the long wknd.

Viv - cats. Brilliant. Despite the PMT (which has started over a week before RTD is due) I am now searching out for a cat to see if I can use that as an early pregnancy sign. A black cat did walk in front of me this morning. That could be a sign. Or is it bad luck? I can't remember.

MrsG - what's the chat with the HR goons? Sharp poke to the eye - they'll never see it coming.

Right then ladies, I'm off on hols. I'm going to be drinking lots of wine and eating lots of food. I shall not be logging on, so when I get back (in over 10 days - get in) I expect to see lots of BFPs. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE. Have a happy Easter everyone!!

xxxxxxxx

P.S. Sorry I didn't name check everyone but it turns out that I'm supposed to be working - who knew.

MrsGazebo · 01/04/2010 11:07

Happy Birthday Slim

Goodluckbear · 01/04/2010 11:33

Birthday cake for you Slimyak - tuck in.

Pollyanna · 01/04/2010 11:35

hi there everyone. Sorry not to namecheck, but urd I'm really sorry about your dad and thinking of you also alba and cheepz. Welcome to this thread jules.

Life is such a f*cker sometimes I think.

Anyway, a question about me if I may! despite not wanting to be obsessive about it, on Monday I tested and got.... a very very faint positive (possibly if you held it up to the light squinting!) . (I think I was about 9 days dpo at that stage).

Didn't have long to get excited as I started spotting and cramping and thought RTD was on its way. 5 days later I am still spotting and cramping on and off. Did a test today - bfn, but no RTD still when i would normally have something after 2 days of spotting. Temperatures are still high too - last month (first day of temping) temps went down as spotting started. Now is this just RTD messing around and I'm likely to have a horrendous bloodbath on the train later on or is it something else? I am about 13/14 days dpo I think.

I hate it - it's reminded me of mc when I was going to the loo every few minutes to check for progress.

slimyak · 01/04/2010 11:37

Beware of cats they are fickle beings - I have lived with 2 of them for nearly 15 years now.

They can apparently predict pregnancy, death, the possibility of a tin of tuna opening and cheese being grated. They will sit on your knee if their usual place is cold, dirty, obstructed or it is inconvenient for you to be pinned to the sofa.

Pollyanna · 01/04/2010 11:44

welcome kalo -sorry you're here. I'm 39 too and finding the fact I'm geriatric in fertility years very hard to cope with. Still there are lots of people our age and older who manage to conceive successfully! I'm 40 in May and really hope I'm up the duff by then.

slimyak · 01/04/2010 11:49

Polly sorry for the cross post, your question didn't need my cat ramblings.

I can't think that it's anything other than RTD just messing with you, sorry. Unless you're late and it could be implantation spotting? But I would have thought you'd get a BFP on a test.

I'm terrible for seeing a second line on tests, as in I can always see a faint one, I think I've burned one on my retina.

Hope you know either way v. soon.

Redheadgal · 01/04/2010 11:56

Hello ladies. I've been lurking for a little while - was told I had mmc at 12 week scan a week last Monday and had erpc last Thursday. Although I'm still spotting I'm now feeling brave enough to join you all in the fun and games of ttc

My stats are (I reckon): TTC#1, UCL 28-30, cycle WTF, CD ??

p.s. cheers GoodLuckBear couldn't join until I'd figured out all the acronyms

AlbaDeTamble · 01/04/2010 12:56

Hi Pollyanna - didn't want to leave your question unanswered... I got my faint bfp last tues, not sure dpo, but on usual cycle stats guessing it was about 10 or 11. A couple of days later had lots of cramping, but no RTD, tested on the Friday because I was convinced from cramps that RTD was about to arrive. BFN. Has carried on in the same way till yesterday (with a few more tests along the way), when at long last (and 5 days late when I'm never, ever more than 2 days late) RTD arrived. Somewhat heavy.

Did cling on to hope that bfn's were less sensitive tests, and therefore wrong, for a few days and hoped cramps were implantation -- this could well be the case for you and I'm crossing fingers that it is.

But if CP, I have read this can delay RTD arriving... often a late and heavy period is what happens after a chemical pregnancy that you may well not have known about if you hadn't tested very early. I've vowed not to buy any more super sensitive tests so I won't know if it happens again.

Pollyanna · 01/04/2010 13:05

Thanks Alba, I did see your situation and wondered whether I was also going through a chemical pregnancy as I also tested positive and did have signs of pregnancy at that stage i think (well sore boobs anyway!).

I have had cramping for 5 days now, so can't really believe I am pg. I am never late though and don't think I have had spotting for 5 days before, but otoh I have never had a mc either, so everything is new for me.

I am also going to avoid early testing in future, particularly since I know I ov late in my cycle and even when I've had successful pregnancies I've only ever tested positive long after my period is due.

I just want bloody RTD to come now so that I can get back to normal (whatever that may be atm).

how many days of cramping did you have before RTD appeared? I am getting rather fed up of it now!

slimyak · 01/04/2010 13:24

Hey Red

Sorry you've found yourself here. It is awful to find out at the 12 week scan.. That's what happened to me last time and although I'd had 2 MCs before that, getting to the 12 weeks and having a scan is a milestone that I couldn't help feeling positive about. It felt like a big come down that I really wasn't expecting. It's early days for you yet so take care of yourself.

I lurked for a while too. I think sometimes lurking is good.

Anyway you're here now - welcome to the rollercoaster!

I'm handing out birthday booze and cake - enjoy!

AlbaDeTamble · 01/04/2010 13:38

Polly -- nearly a week... but don't go overboard on the red wine just yet, you never know, you could still be pregnant... (slimyak's birthday booze sounds good though!) It's not over till it's definitely over. I did have all the signs for a few days (metallic taste and hyper sensitive sense of smell etc etc) and for the first time, felt like I 'just knew' I was pg. And DH could see the line too on that first test. Didn't last long though. Just knew when it was going wrong too

Red, sorry you've found yourself here. It's an awful time you're going through, impressed your first post is with smiles! Feel free to rant away too....

Not opening the easter eggs yet, or they'd all be gone in one go, but have some lovely little coffee choc cups if anyone wants one (full caff, especially for Cheepz!)

AlbaDeTamble · 01/04/2010 13:42

And happy birthday Slimyak and apols for no more namechecking than that -- I get too confused with so many posts to catch up on!

Oh, but finally - thanks for that beer last night Viv... lost signal so couldn't say at the time... what a pain the whole trip was for nothing. Hope the train back isn't quite so depressing for you

clareanna · 01/04/2010 14:29

Hi all- managed an Easter glass of wine with lunch so am now pleasantly anaethetised for the hell that is the train on a bh weekend.

Viv - mainly consumer, but also some coorporate and professional. Am in house not agency side. Hotel was just off Oxford st as meetings all west end ( that's my story and I'm sticking to it- had nothing to do with thought of shopping opportunity sans pushchair and toddler!)

comedy moment of the day- forgetting to poas for new cbfm toy mid way through morning ablutions... I'm not proud of what happened next, but suffice to say I rescued the situation

red so sorry to hear your news- I also had an mmc at 12 weeks and that image on the scan still haunts me. It does slowly get easier but it is a tough journey- will be thinking of you.

WTF cycles seem to continue- despite all the literature, although cycle length is normal symptoms and length of RTD totally different still to pre mc- this rtd has gone on for 8 days now- argh!

Pollyanna- my thoughts are with you - fingers crossed.
