So, I thought I'd take it upon myself to kickstart the new thread. As the title suggests, this is a wonderful home full of the bravest, funniest and most inspirational women on Mumsnet, who are always ready to lend an ear and a virtual glass of wine.

The new thread is kicked off with 3 bfps in 3 days, so here's to more love and luck along the way

wyg sounds like you might have had early mc as your symptoms sound alot like mine were in jan, good news is you get pregnant prety quickly so no fertility issue!! and early mc like this is very common, more so than you would think because most people are not symptom checking like mad and wouldn't necessarily know they were having an mc. I think you should carry on with the trying but maybe put a little less emphasis on it if you can. big supportive hugs going out to you (by train though what with all the air travel problems!}

dorcas retesting is horrid, i had to do one last week, 2 weeks after erpc so i knew i was not pg and there was still a line so hcg still going down, it was one of the more upsetting things to deal with - i wish it had been BFN then it would have been over and I could move on completely. I know a BFN feels pretty raw now but it does mean you are in good shape to go on and try now as all is normal with your hormones and the like. tough times xxxx

so we got an offer on our house this morning, going to negotiate a little but its a good offer so fingers crossed!!!

malteser1981 · 19/04/2010 13:16

Crossed posts WestYorkshire - I think you should change your GP, I'm a good example of asking for help in all the right places.
The scan today told me not alot, but the words of encouragement where invaluable. We all deserve that much.

VivClicquot · 19/04/2010 13:37

Awww malteser, that's fab news. Am so thrilled. Here's hoping for a very boring 35 weeks or so.

dorcas - sorry about the BFN. Try and go easy on yourself over the next few days and weeks x

westyorkshire - I would also probably change GP if I were you. Do you think you'll be able to do it within your current practice?

cheepz - hurrah for house moves! DH and I were meant to put our house on the market in Jan but we've still not got around to it. Just want to sort the garden out first and then we'll maybe have a think about it.

OP posts:
Gi1da · 19/04/2010 13:47

Malteser Get In! Now sit back, relax and have a very uneventful dufferdom.

Cheepz a hoorah for you too on the house. Just think, now you won't have to keep the place viewer-ready any more! (not that I'm calling you a domestic slattern or nuffink)

Westy I'd try to change is I were you. I have vowed never to see the bloke I last saw last at my GP surgery. I was in tears and he said "well its no big deal, one in every three pregnancies fails at your age, one in two". I swear I nearly leapt up and slapped him. This is NOT the doctor I said 'fanjo' to btw. Though I did say a few choice words under my breath as I left.

Eights felt quite choked for your ceremony, what a good thing to do though. I hope this allows you and DH to move peacefully onwards.

MrsPretty at subterranean planting.

Dorcas be very kind to yourself and DH. It will get easier.

And in Gilda-world, gusset watch was still on status Clear, and I just happened to pass a Boots on my way back from lunch. I still don't quite believe it, but I appear to be upduffed. Bloody ell!

Cheepz · 19/04/2010 13:55

holy mallowly Gils talk about dropping the bomb at the end, nice cliffhanger for the next installment

big cheerleader woots to you

very nice news

ps I am a domestic slattern
pps we have counter offered - I hope we don't scare them away!

saunters off for cuppa to celebrate gildas upduffness

Unbuffy · 19/04/2010 13:59

hello hello, just poppin' by (have been lurking keeping an eye on you all, naturally)! All still well as far as I can tell, although no mw contact yet so cannot ask for early scan . Jumpin' up and down for Malteaser and Gilda - congrats ladies, woot woot!
(very brief mad cheerleader dance interupted by feeling sick, sits down in a hurry)

Hellos to everybody else!

Unbuffy · 19/04/2010 14:00

Cheepz - crossed posts - clearly on the same wavelength here with the dancing and wooting...

Gi1da · 19/04/2010 14:04

Barfy and Cheepz thanks - and for the comedy badaboom... my due date is apparently.... yup, 25th December! Is there NOTHING I won't do to get out of spending the festive season at the teetotal inlaws?

Freezingmyarseoff · 19/04/2010 14:09

Flipping heck, that's fab news Glida and Malteser

I AM working, honest

lucysnowe · 19/04/2010 14:10

Hi all!

Just popping by to say hello. Miscarriaged a few months ago and my cycles are really long so am just at the end of my first 'proper' one (I think). Have got sore nips so was thinking hmmm so did a test and a BFN. Bah!

Both DH and I wanted to back in the saddle (as it were) straight after mmc, but it looks as though we will be here for the long haul... I didn't chart my last cycle as I wanted to be kind of relaxed about it but I think for the next one I am going to be v. scientific about it.

Meantime, my boobs are pg at least :-)

Muser · 19/04/2010 14:25

Wonderful, wonderful news Gi1da, I am so happy for you.

Hope things continue to look good malteser.

Allthe8s · 19/04/2010 14:27

Way to go GI1DA !!!!!!

ok now on serious knicker watch girls as RTD amounted to sweet FA this morn and has now vanished.........started wondering if it was breakthrough bleeding.........too scared to test will leave it a day or 2.........

Welcome to the madness Lucysnowe You are in the right place x

Good news on the move Cheepz

Hi unbuffy glad you are well

WYG I agree with the others x

Allthe8s · 19/04/2010 14:28

and good news Malteser I knew I had missed you!

BunnyBaby · 19/04/2010 14:39

muser light at the end of the tunnel! Yes!

allthe8s glad the service went well, our is in May. Also fingers crossed that you are pg and that was a breakthrough bleed!

Dorcas the ignorance of people can be unbelievable. I honestly wanted to knock some of them out. However chose to bite my lip and down the line can see well intentioned not malicious. However at the time they hurt, hurt, hurt. Take all the time you need and keep talking xxx

malteser and gilda well done you super fertile mums to be!

lucysnowe glad you've found us, we're a lovely bunch!

As for me, have decided to get on with life and not be as obssesive with ttc. So have shed a monster 5lbs this week, joined ladies only gym.

I also spent a small fortune on clothes as DH and DS1 took the car transporter up north to collect a car. My first weekend day to myself since DS1 was born. Got lots of lovely things to wear to get me out of the 'should be in mat clothes now' mentality.

Even managed a smile when the lady next to me at DS1 swimming lesson was stroking her bump and proudly telling me she is due the 1st week of August (my original week too).

Now working from home!

Went to reflexology and my lady mentioned a warm spot in my uterus so we will see, still too early to test.

Have a lovely Monday all and some healthy fruit!

Redheadgal · 19/04/2010 14:49

Woot woot Gilda !! So happy for you and brill news for you Malteaser. May things go swimmingly well for both of you.

Fingers are tightly crossed for you 8s Long may this winning streak continue

Congrats on the offer Cheepz. We're on the other end of it and it's a nerve wracking time.

Sorry to see you here Lucy, but it's not a bad place to be.

Hope you begin to feel a little better soo WYG and I agree with the rest, a sympathetic doctor (or at least one who you feel gets it) is essential.

VivClicquot · 19/04/2010 15:35

Bloody hell G1lda, love - way to casually drop that into the end of a conversation . Seriously, that is bloody fab news.

allthe8s - I'm keeping my eye on you, missus...

And hi lucy - sorry you've had to find us but welcome to our lovely home

OP posts:
Cheepz · 19/04/2010 16:14

we have agreed a price... we are moving and no chain anywhere so we could be moving soon!! eeek and big excitement too, would be better commute if take job move too, love it when a plan comes together, now just need to hold out for a few months then get royally preggers once moved and in new job - although might just try in the interim just in case

allthe8s dark horse - watching and waiting

bunny 5 pounds - thats more exciting than Gilds BFP - well not quite but its bloody good - go you! and top job on the managing the prego lady in the pool - more powers to you

i can't focus on anything because we are moving hurrrrahhhhh

dorcas111 · 19/04/2010 16:57

Thank you for the lovely welcome and kind words everyone. I keep telling myself that the negative result is better, at least for my sanity, and it's good my body seems to be recovering etc... but seeing the empty window on the test stick has hit me harder than I thought it would. I feel very down now. I still have a drawer full of positive results from last month which I can't bear to throw away. Oh well, I think I will have to chalk up today as one of the Bad Days and hope tomorrow is brighter. I was trying to get some work done in the garden but all I could hear was my neighbour and her friend playing with their babies... retreated back inside before I collapsed into a sniveling heap! I do think I may be going a little demented- if I'm not thinking about the mc then I'm thinking about getting pregnant. I am driving myself insane!
Congratulations all those of you with good news- about babies, 5 pounds, selling houses and whatever other lovely things have happened to you this week.

Goodluckbear · 19/04/2010 17:19

Hi guys - popped in to snoop catch up - congrats Gilda!! OMG, that was THE BEST way to drop that in, right at the end of the post, I did the best comedy double-take. Brilliant!!

Good news on the scan Malteaser - I am having one in two weeks to see if there is a heartbeat then (will be over 7 weeks then) and I think it's really good that they offer these things, I am hoping for reassurance then. (I know they don't offer it everywhere, so I also know I'm really lucky to get an early scan).

WYG - nice doctor needed, I wish you could have the one I saw on Friday, she was super nice. I don't think it's just that he's not saying what you want to hear - you need a supportive one, you deserve it too. Hope you feel better soon, being ill on top of everything is just shit.

Welcome to Dorcas and Lucy, sorry you had to come here, but these ladies are the best.

Muser yay to month 3, nearly there!!

Cheepz - fantastic house news!! That is so exciting, and no chain is really good (we are in crap chain) - soon it will be new job AND new house AND up the duff!!

Hi to everyone else, sorry not to namecheck, but waving like mad to all of you.

xxx

PrettyVacant1 · 19/04/2010 17:40

Hey,

gi1da wow, reading the last few posts in a daze and nearly missed that.
I'm so pleased for you.

As Dorcus said congrats also for all the lovely news/house moves/weight loss.

I'm sorry, I need to go away for a bit.

LW Hospital rang and said they'd flagged futher results back from cytogenetics from mc in jan.
Ironically the Dr had just got back off Mat leave and checked my file as I was taking part in the NK cells study.

Something about a duplication of chromosome 22.
Dispite what Sheffield told me (seperate) I can't try again and I have to go in for futher tests tomorrow.

Of course today I have tons of EWCM to boot and was planning my damned hardest to do it this month.

No point getting hysterical till I get results but I'm thinking what else can fucking be wrong with me.
All I've ever wanted is to have a baby.

I feel sick

Sorry for lowering the mood

Pretty - I'm so sorry. That's crushing news, it's really unfair. I know there are no platitudes at a time like this, hope you know we're all here for you and will be rooting for you to get the results you need from these tests.

Hope you are at home now and getting lots of hugs from MrPretty, thinking of you guys.

xxxxx

Allthe8s · 19/04/2010 18:58

Oh Pretty I am so so bloody sorry, nothing anyone can say can make you feel better I know but we are all hear for you - please keep in touch don't stay away. Will keep my peepers on you on FB too xxx

Muser · 19/04/2010 19:05

I'm really sorry to hear that PrettyVacant, big massive hugs to you.

malteser1981 · 19/04/2010 19:14

Gi1da, Gi1da, Gi1da! Woop woop!

Cheepz, good news. The best bit about moving is the snooping around houses whilst 'viewing'. Or am I alone in this?!

Allthe8's - fingers crossed.

Pretty - don't really know what to say. How devastating for you, but (and remember this is the new and improved postive Malteser)there might be some really useful information and advice given at the consultation that may help in the long run. In the meantime, have a drink, a large one, nobody deserves it more. xx
