Morning MLS
Insomnia is a really good sign for you.

Moon MLS Thopught she was out too and now she's 6 weeks up the duff!

Iggy Glad the shopping obsession has begun? What mat stuff did you buy yourself?

Kate I'm still waiting on DH getting my stuff from the loft so I can nest properly [I need a huffy emoticon!]

Barbie how's the twinges?

Both women on that show last night were pathetic. What a waste of their energy.

iggypiggy · 17/02/2010 09:43

moon I noticed that I got more noticeable AF signs after the MC - don't know if you become more senstive to the hormone changes maybe? Although - I agree with MLS that you still don't know for this month!

MLS Floradix was recommended to me by a friend - I was looking v. pale and feeling a bit lethargic again this week - so got some and it had really helped already. Would recommend it. Also am liking the postive attitude

Neeko some cardigans, a wrap top and a dress - very pleasing!

barbie1 · 17/02/2010 10:10

Twinges???? bah...this baby aint moving, well it is moving loads but not down south!

I did have some very sharp pains while trying to sleep, thought i was having a heart attack made dh wake up and to check they were at top of tummy and not in chest!

Dh is very excited to watch the next episode of one born every minute on catch up tv when he gets home tonight, guess thats me back upstairs with hands over myears-- again

moon dont give up my lovely....i got all the way to day 32, period pains, spotting, back ache and still ended up with a bfp! Glad you are enjoying time with your dp

mls how are you enjoying the peace with dh? i also agree, not being able to sleep is a good sign and twinges are positvie too

neeko want us to come around in the barbie mobile to give your dh a kick up the ass? Hope you get everything down from the loft soon and can start arranging and rearranging the nursery!

iggy i remember being so excited buying mat clothes and mentally making a list of everything i wanted to by in mamas and papas!

Where is mermaid and jools??? hope you ladies are ok..

Back to bouncing on the ball....

Neeko · 17/02/2010 10:26

Hi Barbie Don't worry. Baby will come when it's ready (or when they induce you)Meant to say that my BF was induced in October and although they started the drip at 9.30am, the contractions didn't really start until about 7pm so don't expect it to happen too quickly. (The baby was born at about 2.30am though so wasn't too long for a 1st labour)

DH was working from 7am til 9.30pm yesterday and likely to be doing the same today and tomorrow so we'll let him off with the butt kicking. If he hasn't gone up the loft by Friday night, however...

Iggy mat clothes sound good. Hope you're showing them off today.

Right, must go and tidy room. Running out of time...

cupcakefairy · 17/02/2010 11:27

Hello girls, a very huffy cupcake here. Friggin estate agent let the flat to someone else yesterday even though I was promised ours was the first viewing and I said we were bringing cash to it. She's been a right bitch about it too saying 'Oh that's just how rentals work' I know that's how rentals work, that's why I phoned 3 times to check ours was the first viewing
Spent most of last night awake worrying about where we're going to live, then cried into my breakfast and all over dh this morning.

Sorry to be me me me but I'm going to crawl under my desk now and think about how my baby will be sleeping on a kitchen floor.

barbie1 · 17/02/2010 11:51

oh cupcake your baby will Not be sleeping on the kitchen floor, this flat just wasnt meant to be, you will get a nicer, brighter and bigger one in the next week or so....
The rental market does suck though for you.

You still have time to find a place, move and make it your own, dont go rushing into anything....oh and phone the manager of the letting agency to say how angry at the service you have recieved, but you get the first viewing on your next property

GracieGirl · 17/02/2010 11:51

Hello! Isabelle is sleeping and so is DH so sneaked ont Mumsnet. I've tried to catch up on the thread as best I can whilst running downstairs every other minute to check on Isabelle!

Barbie sounds like you've been having a really rough time. Induction on monday - exciting!

Cupcake glad you approve of the name!

Iggy welcome to Big pants!

Thank you so much for all your kind wishes. It was exciting reading the bit of the thread whilst I was in labour, I remember doing my DH's head in trying to get him to text one of you as soon as she was born, before I'd even got the placenta out!

Any how here's how it went....

Wednesday was the day I'd had 10 minute braxton hicks all afternoon, wednesday night I had all those hot sweats, thursday I felt fine if a little uncomfortable. I walked miles and miles with my Mum and kept refusing to head home as I was comfortbale walking. Felt fine thursday eveing, in fact cooked a shephards pie big enough to feed about 8 people (only 1 portion got eaten as I ended up a bit busy!). Went to bed early and woke to go to loo at 3:20am (as well as probably 6 other times but thats the memorable one!). Went to loo, then stood up, heard 3 little popping noises and a big gush. Then shouted my DH who leapt out of bed to find me grinning like a loon!!

For some reason we could only find 2 packs of maternity pads so DH went to Tesco at 4am to buy more. I had 2 contractions and another bigger gush, then rang the labour ward. I thought they'd say wait till you're having proper contractions but they said to come in to be checked over. By 4:45am when DH got home I'd had about 4-5 contractions that were a bit hurty but I was expecting a lot worse so wasn't getting worried. DH had to help me get dressed cos my brain didn't seem to be working (looking back we should have realised why my brain wasn't working). Got in the car, wasn't too comfortable at all as couldn't bend in the middle. Kept eyes shut most of the way, then opened them to find DH driving on the wrong side of the road!!!! - obviously not just me without a brain!!!

Waited about an hour on arrival as I "obviously wasn't in labour", the midwife said she'd examine me to check it hadn't just been urine not my water, apparently I was "far too calm and comfortable".

I had a contraction that made me go dizzy so I lay down. She examined me and I'm not sure who was more suprised when she said, I was fully effaced and at least 4-5cm dilated. I really was expecting to feel a lot worse by that point.

Anyhow I refused a wheelchair to get to labour suite as couldn't figure out how I would bend in the middle and had a few strong contractions whilst walking there. Got in the pool and managed quite well for about an hour. Then got really strong urge to push. Midwife said I couldn't be 10cm dilated yet so gave me gas & air to help me stop pushing. Stayed like that for another hour ish, and was struggling with not being able to push. She agreed to examine me again, opened my legs and just said "ooh its a head". I ditched the gas & air as I felt my body obviously knew what it was doing and pushed out my baby girl into the pool at 11:56am.

My mum and DH were both there (Mum had come in to bring the hospital bag that was in the car as I wouldn't let DH leave to fetch it). My DH was amazed, he's never seen a normal birth before being an obstetric anaesthetist he only sees the complicated and those who are in much more pain. I'd spent so much time worrying about giving birth, it really wasn't that painful at all, it felt like it wasn't really me doing it but I was floating around on the ceiling constantly reassuring my DH and Mum that I was ok.

It started getting a bit less perfect after that. Tried for a physiological 3rd stage. Cord cut after it had stopped pulsing. But then an hour and 10 mins later placenta still wouldn't come out. Had the sintametrin injection then out came placenta and a litre of blood! Then they examined me to find either a 2nd or 3rd degree tear (no one could decide which!)

I stayed in hospital for 4 days as very anaemic, dizzy, kept collapsing, fast heart rate, then Isabelle wouldn't feed and got jaundiced.

I can hear a squeaky noise coming from Isabelle's direction, back later. xxxx

barbie1 · 17/02/2010 11:53

neeko try telling that to my dh....i think he thinks that as soon as the drip is in my contractions will start and we will be enjoying a pizza delivery while looking at baby on monday evening ...

BlueMoon1981 · 17/02/2010 13:38

awww cupcake please dont despair. like the others have said, maybe this one wasnt right, and a better place is just around the corner. but truly honestly, your baby really will not care where he/she lives for its first few months, as long as they are warm, well fed and loved. my mum loves telling me the story of when i was born, and my mum and dad had moved into a new house and were very poor, with no central heating, they could only afford to heat one room, so for the first 3 months of my life we all lived in one bedroom, and look at me i turned out fine (i know some would say debatable )

gracie lovely to hear your story, i just have one word for you photos

barbie oooooh so close now its so exciting. can't believe we have more saggy panters than anything else now.

mls and neeko i am pretty sure tew is on her way, but i guess you are right, until she turns up i have every possibility...

curly hope you and your lo are doing ok

blue i forgot to say before that your new ds is beautiful!

just heard today that my assistants dad passed away i'm so sad for her, i wish i could do something. i offered to go into work but my manager told me not to. feel a bit bad cuz im not actually doing a lot, but am enjoying some me time and i didnt really want to go in.

Neeko · 17/02/2010 15:59

Moon You deserve me time, and more to the point you need it so don't feel bad. Your assistant will still appreciate the concern and offer of help when you return.

Cupcake so annoyed on your behalf but remember what my gran said and know that the best is yet to come.

Barbie Men!

Gracie Nice to see you. Very pleased you had such a lovely birthing experience. You clearly have a high pain threshold. Wish every birth was as good as that. On the plus side I think all women can amaze themselves with what they can endure and the end easily outweighs the means. Enjoy this special time with Isabelle.

I Had midwife appt today. She's unsure whether baby is right way up but will check again in 2 weeks. She's also testing my blood to see if I have antibodies to slap cheek as my nephews have it and DD may have had it mildly. Test results will maybe not come back until after baby is born though!

We've just been invited to a christening when I'll be 38.5 weeks. Not really what I'm hoping to be doing then but can't say no. I normally love a christening but will have nothing to wear and can't face all the bump pats and irritating questions.

cupcakefairy · 17/02/2010 17:04

Thanks girls, you are very lovely. Still feel gutted but better than this morning!

Second pancake night round our best friends' tonight should help ease the pain!

Hi gracie what a lovely birth story

Moon thank you so much...I know baby will be fine as long as it is loved...I just come over all Monica in situations like this and want it sorted. Meh. So sorry for your assistant

Neeko eek to naughty baby poss being the wrong way...turn baby TURN! Thanks, I love your gran's sayings

cupcakefairy · 17/02/2010 17:05

Oh and barbie thank you too...I did consider phoning the manager of agency but I think I'd just be wasting my time. Their attitude seems to be that it's a cutthroat business and I should shut up my moaning. Hmph.

mermaidspurse · 17/02/2010 18:03

sorry, hoplessly behind with everything, going off visiting for a few days so in the meantime cupcake fingers crossed for your new home.x

gracie lovely to see you on here and give that wee pink girly a kiss from me. You did do very well btw

neeko massage can sometimes turn them? think it may have to be special masdsage though. Hope your stuff comes out the attic soon.x

barbie I don't know where to start with you except to say you are a brave, couragious(sp) lady. will so, so be thinking of you. I will be back probably sunday so in time to grab the popcorn and ear plugs.xxxxxxx

moon glad you had a good valentines with df I will keep my fingers crossed anyway and am thinking that the year is still young.

I have a pain which is now consistent, feels like an af pain but just stays and is getting a bit uncomfortable. Had it for weeks now - yes, yes I know

right better go, am cooking up an anniversary dinner, not just any dinner either, thank you m&s

VJay · 17/02/2010 18:06

Hello fairy godmothers, I've not has time to catch up yet, but will do later. Had a fab weekend and the Christening was lovely , I've posted a pic of Ajay in his outfit . Bathtime beckons for both boys...

mermaidspurse · 17/02/2010 18:10

However I still love the father Christmas hat bestest along with annies little snowman picture too.xx

BlueMoon1981 · 17/02/2010 18:28

awww vjay he is just gorgeous he has the best ever grin and looks like a proper little man

mermaid lovely to see you, i have no idea about your ovaries, but would guess right is your right? if its constant you must get it checked out

cupcake i hope you didnt think i was just dismissing your fears earlier, i went away and thought about what i'd wrote and hope i didnt come across as unfeeling. i too am a bit of a monica, in fact df calls me it from time to time and i know i would be worrying like you are, but things will turn out for the best

VJay · 17/02/2010 19:01

Just had a quick catch up,
graice well done you, that was a good birth experience for you, apart from the after parts, but again, well done, big gold star to you

barbie poor you, but 6lbs isn't too bad. My sil had a 6lb baby first time, then the next two were 5lb somethings, and all three are thriving children now.

blue Ben looks scrumtious , and I think he looks just like his big bro too.

moon when do you test?

Right both boys are in bed, DH is out, so I'm going to make a cuppa and put my feet up.

BlueMoon1981 · 17/02/2010 20:32

vjay dont encourage me im only on cd22 although today i have been put off my cuppa tea cuz it tastes metallic and nasty

CurlyBigPants · 17/02/2010 22:01

I've managed to read the last page of this and now the lovely curlygirl is stirring again. Some day I will get to tell you all about the birth and to write one of my curly special posts to all of you. I so miss you all, wish you could drop in for tea and we could catch up properly but anyway.. tomorrow is another day. God do I love this little girl though

Lots of love and big hugs to everyone and hopefully I will catch up tomorrow. You wouldn't believe how such a wee angelic looking thing could scream so loud so I best be going

CurlyBigPants · 17/02/2010 22:03

Just gotta to say fingers crossed for Moon and all our small panters

And go on barbie, I reckon barbiebabe won't be waiting till Monday

MummyLovesSadie · 17/02/2010 22:11

Moon what do you mean only cd22??! I usually start testing on cd21! My very first symptom this time around was when I was eating ice cream & I couldn't stand the taste of the spoon in my mouth.

Gracie well done on having such an unusually effortless labour. Like Neeko says, you must have a very high pain threshold! Now can we have some pictures please?!

Vjay what a gorgeous pic, they sure do grow up quickly don't they?

Iggy yay for maternity clothes! I love my maternity clothes & my guilty secret is that I can't help myself from trying them on!

Cupcake really disappointed & on your behalf. I bet in your head you had already hung your pictures on the walls & put some pot-plants on the balcony. Have you tried Gumtree.com for flats? I know in London it is the only place to find rented accommodation & I think it covers the whole country.

Mermaid I'm with the others, I think right means right. Now please go get it fixed immediately!

Neeko just wear a t-shirt that says "Keep your frigging hands off my bump" - there ya go, two problems sorted in one go!

Have any of you checked out this thread? It's hilarious & I can't bloody believe some of he names that people have come up with!

Off to have an early night now & I'm hoping that tonight I won't get woken up at 3.30am by a little voice saying "Mummy I need wee-wee"!

MummyLovesSadie · 17/02/2010 22:16

Curly loving your dreamy little post!

BlueMoon1981 · 17/02/2010 22:29
