Will let you know how it goes tomorrow just need to build up the courage ready for tonight wish me luck xxxx

df says to me tonight when i got in from work, 'you're due on about now aren't you?' goodness knows how he always has such a good track of my cycle, he has always been like that for some reason, i just smiled and said yes, and he smiled too and that was that! i am thinking i may test saturday

littlebellsmum · 25/02/2010 19:53

Thank you for all the advice for my friend - I've passed it on and also told her where we are if she wants to join ( not that I think she will) but the advice was gratefully recieved and she is starting on a protein, eggs and grapefruit diet!!

No time to post tonight but love to all

Neeko · 25/02/2010 19:56

Moon I'm getting so excited for you and your DF Hope 4evers dream is right though I'd never heard of that either.

BQ I'd love to do pole dancing! (No judgements, please ) Let me know how it goes.

Buddha lovely to hear from you. Sorry you've been cut off. I just assumed you were really busy (which I'm sure you are)Glad to hear that E is doing well and good advice to Curly. It's hard to hear advice like that these days over all the BF info. Motherhood is hard enough without being made to feel guilty for something you have no control over.

Off for a bath. Night all. Grey's on later - yay!

bluesatinsash · 25/02/2010 20:50

oh Moon fingers and everything crossed for you

4ever - hope you're tucked up in bed! All the HR/redndancy/leaving toing and froing must be knackering in itself without all your additional pg worries - TFI tomorrow!

Hey Buddha - E is exactly the same weight as B was this week - 12lb 6oz - we were due withing days of each other too, funny how it all maps out even though they were born a month apart . Great to hear his bedtime routine is going well had a at you typing that was him until 3PM - if only eh?! We've started putting Ben down in his cot for daytim enaps and the first stretch at night time (7-10pm) and it seems to be working!!! He's still in with me over night but has taken to his cot and sleeping bag much to my utter amazement as DS1 was a nightmare!! It helps that I tank him full of milk...

totally agree that BF can be so bloody hard, I nearly gave up after 10 days as was so engorged and B latching on was excrutiating but thankfully it eased off. My mantra is always happy mummy = happy baby regardless of how they're fed

BakingQ pole dancing is supposed to be &excellent^ for the thighs and bum - go girl!

Vjay - re: weightloss. I lose my appetite a bit after birth and do think bf helps. both pgs have been 'all bump' too not that i'm a skinny malink, no way. My tricky time is when I stop bf but still eat all those chocolates I'm 'allowed' to whilst bf . I went on big health kick Jan 2008 as weight was creeping up. Cut out bread during the week and that made a huge difference as well as going to two spin classes every week. Remember you're bf though and shouldn't be going on any strict diet just nw

Kate - yay! to being on mat leave but that its bittersweet timing being the year on from your lost lo.. Today can be filed under "what a difference a year makes"

Jools - please post if you feel like offloading on us. I'm thinking there wasn't any bd this month as you are normally on 2ww at this time? Hope you and your DP are supoprting each other through the loss of your friend x

LBM - you friend's head will be spinning with all the advice!

I'm off to memorial service tomorrow for colleague who died on valentines day. She was a lovely lovely lady, frightenenly bright but was acutely anorexic for years and had several cancer ops and finally passed away. A very private person who always deflected any questions about her but took a genuine interest in others, she was only 46 .

Anyway leaving B with my Mum and two bottles of EBM, fingers crossed he behaves but everyone tends to behave around my Mum, she just has that vibe about her .

Hope barbie and Devon are tucked up at home.

MLS still for you my lovely!

Night all x

CurlyBigPants · 25/02/2010 22:35

jools hope you are okay honey. Hang in there, and let us know when you're feeling crap. Maybe we can help, or at least make you some hot chocolate and tell you how wonderful you are and how much you mean to us xxx

buddha thanks for the advice. Doing a combination of expressing, breastfeeding and also a formula feed at night and she is putting on weight so doing something right but sometimes I really want to give up.

gracie curlygirl only got the hang of the right boob after two and a half weeks and still doesn't latch on as well but is getting there. My advice for what it's worth is to start with the unpopular boob each time and also make sure you are not too engorged (express a couple of hours before the feed) as it makes it harder to latch on. I'm also trying to feed my little one every two and a half hours during the day so she doesn't get too hungry and is more relaxed and likely to latch on Stick with it, we'll hopefully get there together and if it doesn't work, there is always formula!!!

4ever just a quick one re the thrush. Have you tried bio yogurts or drinks? I find chucking down a couple of actimels each day at the first sign of it really makes a massive difference. I used to get it all the time especially if rundown or taking antibiotics and never get it now

blue still laughing at your comment about your mum. I could do with her help around feed time I think. I will think of your mantra every time I get frustrated though.

kate so happy for you starting mat leave and sad that it is the anniversary of losing your little angel. Have a big hug and some hairstrokes xxx

Moon so excited for you and also a little nervous in case your body is playing cruel tricks. I can't promise a waddly dance any more but I will literally be dancing in the streets with happiness if you are up the duff!!!

baking have fun pole dancing. I'd love to do it (might make it a new years resolution to try it )

neeko I reckon I deserve being one of those annoying mums after 9 months of puking If it helps though, I look rubbish under my granny pants with 3 mini rolls for a tummy

lots of love to everyone. I'm a bit excited I've actually had time to post on my laptop. I'm guessing I'll be back to grabbing minutes on my phone tomorrow!!

barbie1 · 26/02/2010 08:02

barbie1 · 26/02/2010 08:27

barbie1 · 26/02/2010 08:33

Sorry ive not been on too much...i have made dh check everyday while i was in the hospital and he kept me updated on everything, i have been thinking about you all...

Not had the best of times, im home now but still suffering from very bad headaches, migranes and disturded sound, in fact everyone sound like they are speaking like stephen hawkins

Hang on i have to go...but ill be back x

MummyLovesSadie · 26/02/2010 09:27

Welcome back Barbie! We've all already seen those pics (even the non fb'ers!), have you got any of the two of you together? Sorry to hear about your after-effects, what could have caused them? Lol at your dh lurking on mn!

cupcakefairy · 26/02/2010 10:20

Hi lovelies lots of catching up to do!
My bf is coming over in a bit, the one who just found out she's pregnant..she's so funny, keeps ringing me asking what she shouldn't be eating and what vits she should take etc...apparently I'm the 'pregnancy oracle'- all my info came from mn

LBM I know you've passed on a wealth of advice already to your friend but I second blue on cutting caffeine. I used to drink loooooads then cut down to strictly 2 cups of tea a day & that was the month we conceived (could be coincidence) also agree with iggy that relaxing totally helps. I can't pinpoint the exact day we conceived as we were doing the deed a lot but I think it was actually when we were camping...in a tent I know!!

annie for your poor ds!! Can't believe it poor mite, hope he's ok now.

Moon all sounds very hopeful! I remember gracie saying she was very 'protective' of her abdomen just before her bfp...could be a sign!

MLS I'm still massively grinning for you, bet you woke up with a massive grin yesterday and today Lush pic; I bet you will treasure it.

jools lovely to see you and as others have said, please don't be a stranger.

gracie sorry you're still having trouble with the 'unpopular boob' but glad you are keeping the ebm now!

neeko bless your dd with the jabs I've almost finished s1 of Grey's! Just 2 eps left in just over a week I love it! Which season is currently showing on tv? (I don't wanna google incase I find out spoilers!)

buddha lovely that E is getting into a proper routine, well done!

4ever yay for your birthday next week! I predict it'll be a mega special one. Eek to all your job worries but hope you get the best deal out of it & all that matters at the moment is your gorgeous girl. I just found out my old work (the one I left last summer) have announced they're cutting a third of staff & everyone has been offered voluntary redundancy. I'm soooo glad I'm not there anymore!

BQ hi! LOVE the sound of pole dancing! Have you seen The Wrestler? Marisa Tomei looks AMAZING in it pole dancing and it does look like great fun and good exercise!

Kate congrats on the mat leave! Yay, let the nesting begin

Barbie!!! welcome home. Devon is BEAUTIFUL! Bet she is tiny and you can't stop staring at her sorry about the complications...how weird about the sound thing! What have they said about your heart now?

Curly hello I think you deserve the most angelic and trouble free baby ever after the 9 months you had! Give curlygirl a little kiss from me

Well, dh and I think we have found 'the' house...we had an appointment to go round yesterday 9am and the tenant cancelled it at 8.30 - so sick of all the messing about. She's moving out Sunday so we're seeing it first thing Monday but not holding my breath as we've been 'promised' before we're the first to see it! Dh says we can have the weekend off 'house brain' but I feel guilty not doing anything about it

I'm waiting on some deliveries today after going mad on ebay seems once the floodgates are open, you can't stop buying baby stuff!

barbie1 · 26/02/2010 10:42

Me again....
So much to catch up with, ill have to do it in shifts around madam but ill see how i get on.

Firsty a huge smile for mls on a great scan, told you i had a good feeling for this lo I hope you let dh look after you when he arrives home later today (or it it tomorrow)... lovely that you were allowed to take a picture of the scan too...you see there are some nice nurses out there.

Also another huge smile for 4ever i was so frustrated both tues and wednesday knowing what important days it was for you two ladies, I just could face a computer screen, but like i said dh kept me informed so i heard your good news. You must be so relieved, are you tempted to get your moses basket from your mums yet?

neeko its you next I have the advent electric breast pump, first time i used it today and its great! Dh is looking forward to being able to feed his little girl....

cupcake i have everything crossed for you that this house in the one ...what have you bought on ebay (nosey cow emotion)

Gosh so much i want to write but my head isnt up to it ....i have been checked, doubled checked and tripled checked for all manner of things, ranging from a stroke to menagitis (sp?) i either have a small leak from the spinal block or post tramatic stress from the labour I am on a number of pain killers but have to go back for a mri scan later in the week if the headaches havent eased...only time will tell.

I have periods of feeling normal (ish) and then it feels like i have slammed into a brick wall.

At least the headaches have distracted me from the pain of having a c section im feeling a little like frankinteins bride! The cut isnt causing me too too much pain, i got out of bed the next day and was walking around the ward, my vistors didnt believe i had a c section so im pretty pleased with that, although no so much about the state of my body, im black and blue from all the drips, injections (for my heart thing) painkillers etc etc but then i look at Devon and remind myself that its all worth it.

I will write my full birth story if you want, but im a little scared of scaring cupcake

Oh and i think i might of told gracie the wrong second name Devons surname is NIMAH as in nee mah, its arabic for little blessing. I think niamh is such a close match most of my friends and family thought i had spelt it wrong and her surname was the same a nieve.....

I will get back on soon, need to take my meds

I have missed you all so much, and hope to be back to normal soon xxxx

VJay · 26/02/2010 11:29

morning, don't worry blue I am certainly not dieting, but am trying to eat more sensibly now.

barbie welcome back sweetie and so sorry to hear how poorly you are. My step sis had this headache after her epidural and it was a small leak from the spinal block, she spent a few days in hospital then was ok, I do hope you feel better soon. Now onto the lovely stuff, Devon looks gorgeous, well done you , and I did think her middle name was pronounced 'Nieve', Nimah is just lovely . Would love to hear your birth story, sorry cupcake, but it's good to have variety.

Need to go, Ajay is getting hungry xxxxx

cupcakefairy · 26/02/2010 12:56

Haha, barbie you can tell the birth story! I think I need to face reality at some point! And if you, my fellow terrified-of-birth-and-motherhood friend can go through it it gives me hope
So lovely to hear from you again, and love Devon's middle name. How appropriate- both with the arabic as she was born in Dubai and the meaning
Have bought lots of vests, a jacket with little bear ears and a really cute hooded bath towel on ebay keeping my eye on lots of Close carriers too.

Meant to ask earlier, iggy have you started feeling proper movements yet?

BlueMoon1981 · 26/02/2010 13:17

welcome back barbie and family i havent been able to look at pics yet, mn seems v slow at the minute but im sure shes just gorgeous

well af arrived this morning what were all those symptoms about then and why have i still got them

decided to take a little break from mn to preserve my sanity (or whats left of it) because there are so few of us small panters left that it is hard for me to deal with and i need to keep my distance from all things pg related for a while. hope you understand. please look after each other lots xxxxxx

bakingqueen · 26/02/2010 13:37

Moon so gutted for you that af arrived so sorry to hear you are thinking of leaving for a while please come back soon I know there are very few of us small panters left but that shows how lucky this thread is and our turn will come soon I promise look after yourself will be thinking of you xxxxxxxxxx

Joolsiam · 26/02/2010 13:56

Moon - I think you are in the same place I was / am - have had two cycles where I was convinced I was PG and each time AF was late and I'd built myself up. This last time, sickness, sore boobs etc continued for over a week after AF started and was really freaking me out

The few days after AF are always awful but it does get better. You can always email me if you want to talk small pants

CurlyBigPants · 26/02/2010 14:34

moon I'm so sorry that the evil cow arrived. You don't deserve all this messing around. I totally understand that you need a break from MN for a while, we've all been there and the longer it goes on, the harder it gets. I waited 8 months after my second MC and there were so many months I thought it was going to be good news only to be crushed when AF arrived. All I can say is take all the time you need, don't give up and come back whenever you need a hug. I will really miss you so hope that we see you back very soon xxx

jools lovely to see ya

barbie she is a stunner. I'm so pleased for you hon

CurlyBigPants · 26/02/2010 14:36

cupcake best of luck with the new house honey. Hope this one is the one

VJay · 26/02/2010 17:16

cupcake meant to say earlier good luck with this next house, I hope you get it

moon so sorry af had arrived, I was pretty convinced too that you were pg, don't go too far, but do understand why you need some distance. We will always be thinking of you .

iggypiggy · 26/02/2010 17:25

Hi All!

barbie so lovely to hear from you! Sorry about the headaches but Devon is totally gorgeous

Cupcake I am feeling movememnts right now! I usually do at the same times of day I notice... just fluttery moevemnts tho.

moon so sorry AF arrived I totally understand what you mean about this thread - I too found it incredibly hard and totally understand the need for a break. Come back when you ready xx

MummyLovesSadie · 26/02/2010 17:39

Moon I'm really sorry tew showed up, it was looking so promising too. Is af heavier than normal? Do you think you may have had a cp? The only way I knew I had 2 cp's last year is because I like to test early. I don't know if it helped at all but the month I started taking aspirin at the beginning of my cycle was the month I fell with this pregnancy. I've read that it helps the baby to implant. Please don't stay away too long.

Cupcake everything crossed for the next house you see. You made me laugh with your Ebay splurge as I did exactly the same with my dd! I have to admit though that she only wore about half of it because as soon as she was born I wanted to put her in girlie clothes rather than the non-gender specific clothes I'd bought from Ebay!
