littlebellsmum · 24/02/2010 20:22

Now, while we wait for a fuller update from the estatic MLS, can any one remind me of the things that help conception - i have a friend who has had 2 MC's and is keen to be pregnant again. I remembered grapefruit juice and brazil nuts, what else should she do?

Her doctor has told her to take aspirn once she is pregnant. Any advice would be gratefully recieved

Thank you!

anniebigpants · 24/02/2010 20:30

mls-I am over the moon for you honey! A tingle went down my spine when i read Neekos post saying 'MLS is really pregnant!'

Just on quickly, sorry no time for individual posts, had hectic day today. Had E to Drs has he is refusing his feeds during the day and will only feed when he is sleepy-ie during the night, doc said he has viral infection and has blisters in his mouth the poor darling, he advised i rub Bonjela on them a few minutes before feeding. He has slept quite a lot for him today, but still went down to bed fine.

I got him weighed today, and weirdly he is excactly the same weight as DS1 was at the same age-15lb 2oz-the little chubster.
Ive also had to visit A&E with DS1 this afternoon, DH had day off today, so we decided to go to a local family friendly pub for our lunch, whilst there Ds wanted the toilet so his daddy took him. Poor mite was stood there answering the call of nature when 2 tiles fell off the wall above DS and smashed on his head cutting it open!! DH come out of toilet with a screaming DS with blood running down his neck. We got the manager over who was veery apologetic-obviously, he filled the incident book in then too DS straight to hospital and were seen immediately. Thankfully no stitches, he just as a egg shaped lump and had a headache until the Calpol kicked in.
I am absolutely livid though, and made my feelings known to the pub manager, as where the tiles had come off,it was pretty obvious that some had come off earlier as there were tile shaped grout patches just along from the tiles that had fallen on DS.
Im sleeping with DS tonight just to keep an eye on him, even though he's his normal checcky self tonight.

Sabs1981 · 24/02/2010 20:32

lbm now dont laugh but when we conceived Saara I always used to stick my legs in the air after bd'ing! I'm convinced that helped the swimmers! I also took a supplement made by the folks that made pregnacare, called pregnacare conception and I got pregnant the first month of trying

HTH

anniebigpants · 24/02/2010 20:33

Apologies for typos.

Sabs1981 · 24/02/2010 20:34

Oh annie poor DS1 and DS2

Hope you're OK too

anniebigpants · 24/02/2010 20:35

lbm- i took 75mg Aspirin daily as soon as i got my BFP. Same as sabs i kept my legs in air after bd'ing for about 10 mins or so.

anniebigpants · 24/02/2010 20:38

Thanks Sabs-im ok thanks, just very tired now and have headache caiused by stress probably.

bluesatinsash · 24/02/2010 20:39

MLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! x 1000. So over the bloody moon and relieved for you (thanks for txting me Neeks as I couldn't get back on earlier). A beating heart, the most amazing thing to see ever (until you meet them in person ). Let this be the first of many happy milestones and we wil be here hand holding the whole way lady!

Vjay did your DH make it home? He was welcome to stay although would have had to top and tailed it with my DH who is still 'in situ' in the guest room

Neeko - love the 'puggled cuddles' reference your DH shoudl copyright it! We have alot of them round our way, just too cute for words Agree with your opinion on VBAC DH on last nights 'one born' - I could have throttled him or at least chucked his Dan Brown book at him . Hope he was sitting cringing watching it last night. Well done her for getting her VBAC though and had a wee cry at the other Mum who got to take Jack home...

Curly I'm also still in big pants to avoid chaffing of section scar but have lost 2.5 stones of the 3 I put on. Tummy and thighs need serious toning but hell that can wait a few months under all these winter layers

LBM - other conception aids are: give up caffeine, acupuncture!!! (worked for me and MLS), eat eggs (protein v. good for conceiving), lots of water, oh and regular shagging

Off downstairs for part two of CSI trilogy x

awww annie what a day you've had, hope your 2 little ones are both ok, and grrr to the negligent (sp?) pub manager

neeko i was thinking perhaps a little test on saturday/sunday if no af?

my mouth tastes like sellotape... or the gum from those cheap crappy envelopes, my back aches so much, and i still have funny crampy pains along with sore nipples and i seem to be very aware of my belly today, but that is coincidence no? also df keeps coming up behind me and putting his hands on my belly, when i ask why he just says no reason and walks off happily i am making all this up in my head aren't i because i want it so much?

bluesatinsash · 24/02/2010 20:42

x-post Annie - your poor DS's and you too! Hope you all sleep well tonight x

OP posts:
littlebellsmum · 24/02/2010 20:50

Thanks for the tips - will pass them on. Also remembered preseed .

Annie what a rotten day - pleased you are all alright, poor ds

Moon yes your body could be playing horrible tricks ( we've all been there) or you could actually be pregnant..... Time ( and testing) will tell - good luck!

VJay · 24/02/2010 21:07

blue very at you losing nearly all your weight, how have you done it? Please tell me, I'm desperate, I even think I've put some on!!!

annie for you too at the pub, that is shocking, and poor DS1 too. Hope they both feel better soon.

moon you could well be pg, but as lbm says, only testing will tell

MummyLovesSadie · 24/02/2010 21:30

Hellooooooooooooo!

Firstly Annie your poor little chaps! You must have been in pieces to see ds1 emerge from the loo covered with blood. That's just not nice.

Secondly, Moon TEST TEST TEST.... ad infinitum!

Thirdly, BLOODY HELL I'M REALLY PREGNANT! I was soooooooo scared in the waiting room. I was the only person there but they kept me waiting for over half an hour. Then when I went to see the doctor she spent ages asking me loads of questions she's already asked me three times before when all I wanted to do was drop my pants & jump on the couch! Anyway, once the probe was in it took her about 10 seconds to say that looks great! I then started gushing telling her I'd been trying to imagine her giving me good news & I just couldn't, all I could imagine was her giving me bad news as that was all she'd ever given me. She was taken aback by that & started quizzing me on how bad I felt every time I went to epu & did I dread going there..... uh, like YEAH! Then she was called out of the room & I had to lie there holding onto the probe myself like some kind of half-dressed porn queen! That was when the tears started, I lay there staring at the ceiling saying 'thank you, thank you, thank you'. I asked her if the egg had come from my left ovary as that's where most of the twinges are & she checked & said yes, then she checked the right one & said 'Hold on a minute, you have released an egg from this one too'. She then had to have a proper rummage to make sure there wasn't a second baby & then made a note of the fact for my maternity notes, just in case I suddenly have acute pain & it's found that there is a twin ectopic pregnancy.

The doctor was so lovely she suggested I take a photo of the scan on the screen to text to people, namely dh & Neeko! I also have a print-out of the scan which I'll be adding to my profile shortly. I've calculated that I'm 7+2 but the measurements are showing 7+6, I'm sure that'll change. I'm going back in two weeks for another scan - can't quite believe this is happening.

Thank you all for your lovely texts & emails today, it's you lot that are getting me through this.

Btw Iggy it could well have been the acupuncture that made me release two eggs as believe it or not I did ask my lovely acupuncturist if she could make me have twins!

Right off to put my scan pic on my profile now.
