C'mon girls, this is the year. We will form a circle and concentrate hard on diffment.

Meanwhile, David and Jenson have popped the corks and are pouring out the Bellinis. Truckle of stilton anyone?

OP posts:
RunLyraRun · 26/01/2010 11:32

Thanks all for understanding, it helps just to know there are other BESHes in the same boat.

Although I hadn't even considered the mum-mates angle, so that's something else to worry about! Like you VAG, I'd always assumed I would go to NCT, but no point if I intend to move shortly afterwards...and like you, Curly, we don't have friends in our current area (moved here 5yrs ago from opposite ends of country to be together...oh those heady days).

Trying to think of something positive...aha, droid = wine every night for a week.

iggypiggy · 26/01/2010 11:34

honey i met someone the other day who got diffed with twins first month of trying... fertile feckers...

Actually - we did have a v. comedic conversation where I said 'what are they? one of each?' and she says 'yes a boy and a girl' - so i say - with slight giggle 'so how many people ask you if they are identical?'

AND SHE SAYS 'It's funny you say that cos actually there is a really small chance that they could be - it's rare tho'

FOR FUCKS SAKE!!! There is NO FUCKING WAY that they can be identical if they are opposite sexes....

RunLyraRun · 26/01/2010 11:36

Eadwanker, problems with your profile:

  1. Nothing wrong with having favourite books. I agree that "book", singular, would be odd. 2)You say your favourite thread is AIBU. Err, hello?!?
RunLyraRun · 26/01/2010 11:39

Piggy FOR FUCK'S SAKE! That level of idiocy is making steam come out of my ears. Yet baby Jebus has seen fit to give her two icklub babies, while Darwin has given me fuck all.

iggypiggy · 26/01/2010 11:41

runny I know - it's fucking nuts innit...

Eadwacer · 26/01/2010 11:41

lyra - yup, I fink I well-earned the wankery bit!

Can't recall why I thought 'favourite bookS' was a no-no. Have dim recollection of raving drunken argument about with a pal about it once, but since the drunken argument wasn't last night thassnot an excuse.

ACKSHERLY my favourite book is prolly 'I Capture the Castle'. So there.

AIBU is the light of my life. Last night I was laughing so hard I sprayed Turkish poo-tea out of my nose and I think I might have done a wee at the same time.

salander · 26/01/2010 11:46

ead i fink i lurve you- i also luuurve 'i capture the castle', and am a bit addicted to AIBU - makes me laugh so much a tiny wee comes out

RunLyraRun · 26/01/2010 11:51

Wanky I too love AIBU, but what about US??? You will notice that I avoid having my own profile mocked by neglecting to create one, so I shouldn't be too hard on you.

Eadwacer · 26/01/2010 11:53

Unhand me Sal

Eadwacer · 26/01/2010 11:56

lycra I thought the BESH gin-palace too precious to be sullied by a mention ahem hem hem

I fink you should do a profile now if only to construct character entirely at odds with the real RLR.

skihorse · 26/01/2010 12:01

Lyra All I know is that before TTC I was adamant I'd fall pregnant in Jan/Feb so as to be good to go for the following ski season. HA IN YOUR FACE! First ikkelangelbaybee would've been due end of March and as it goes of course now I'm diffed and my ski buddies are skiing beginning of March and it's a total no-go for me. Planning pregnancy my arse. I think you just have to get on with your life... in October I made the decision to fuck it all off a bit and get on with my riding and start competing in 2010. End of October iggy/curly cosmic forces caught up with me in all their glorious spunkiness. So now for 2010 I will not ski and I will not compete. So much for well-laid plans!

Scorpette · 26/01/2010 12:15

'Gawdelpus' is my new fave word. I shall be using it far too much from henceforth.

I have fave books, but can admit that this is cos I'm deeply immature Although I no longer tape the Top 20 every Sunday, heh. Shame bloody ovaries aren't immature. Do you hear me in there? Get with the programme!

My fave book is We Need To Talk About Kevin. Read it yonks ago and was pissed off that it became v popular, like a true book nerd. It's so good that it gave me Writer's Block for about a year. Happily, I don't think any of her other books are anywhere near as good. Ead, I is a writer too, innit. A proper author who comes into my work gave me an advance copy of his new novel yesterday cos I chat to him about books and lit an shiz. AAND he asked me ages ago which one of a selection of covers he should go for and he told me also that he had gone for the one I suggested for the reasons I gave (least cliched)! I won't name names as it is best if nobody speaks of remarkable things (subtle clue ahoy!).

And sometimes, AIBU is the only thing that keeps me going. It is certainly the insomniac's best friend.

Iggy, that twins twat made me facepalm. I often wonder if in many cases, thickness makes women more fertile. Although the PESHes disprove this theory

Eadwacer · 26/01/2010 12:26

Scorps .... 'Kevin' is an awesome awesome book - and yar, I freaked out when I started seeing people reading it on the Tube with a fucking Watersatan's '2 for 1' sticker on it. In my darkest moments I 'member what she said about getting pregnant being like leaving the back door open for any stranger to walk through because you never know what you're going to get...

HAR HAR that hint was subtle like Jordan's knickers! Is the author's name nothing whatsoever like for instance Gregor MacJohn .

I wanna know about your writing pliz. Spill. Thank you.

Bessie123 · 26/01/2010 12:34

Oh I have never been able to read that Kevin book, firstly in case I ever got updiffed then because I was updiffed and then because I have a small child. It was too scary.

ChoChoSan · 26/01/2010 17:10

Bon Soir!

A bit of catching up to do...Lyra grr..fuckin' droid ...let Scorps go to work on you with the gimp outfit to distract you.

Okay I too love Donnie Darko...I am thinking of hanging around outside boys' sixth form colleges...is that asseptabul or would it make me a sick fuck?

Also, loving Lionel Shriver, but I do like her other books - though learnt a little bit more about snooker and tennis than I would have liked...I like the bits about relationships 'n' that, which is why I am the only person I know who liked the film 'Closer' (apart from French friends).

Top Tip of The Day: Don't book your self on a conference around the corner from Bond Street when the sales are on, and you have not yet been paid...I am sure I saw my bank card literally smarting.

rollerbaby · 26/01/2010 17:38

Lionel Shriver. Bad name, good book. Was quite a while ago now that I read it, but very disturbing in a moreish, fascinated kind of way.

Donnie Darko also v v good. Not sure about Americas Top Model... haven't tried that out for size yet.

Have you seen the film The Fountain? Very weird but beautiful and christ whatshischops is sexy. I even love him in Australia.

Back to work tomorrow after a couple of days off. Yuck.

ChoChoSan · 26/01/2010 17:55

'The Fountain' was really freaky - never seen anything like it! Still don't quite know what to make of it.

Scorpette · 26/01/2010 19:46

Sorry, Moo, but me and TYF refer to The Fountain as the worst film ever made. It was pretentious ultra-shite. Beautiful pretentious ultra-shite.

Ead, can't find the link to the eBay seller I got the cheapy Ov test from. But just seach for 'ovulation tests' and you'll get loadsa results, most v cheap. They work for me.

Cho, I like your style. Got any new togs you can lend me so we can go pester the sixth-formers in style?

ChoChoSan · 26/01/2010 19:58

I got a VW pencil skirt, for work, though if I put an ounce of weight on I can forget about wearing it! Also got two cute skirts from reiss in their 70% off sale and a really nice jumper. Sales rock! And we can draw those boys in with our youthful complexions, it will be too late before they cotton on to our Dorian Grey ladyparts!

Scorpette · 26/01/2010 20:14

To be fair, Cho, their teenyspunk will be the elixir of life our Dorian Greys are looking for. Just ask Sam Taylor-Wood about the rejuvenating properties of teenyspunk! Have told TYF I'm severely disappointed in him - what's the point of having a boyf in his 20s if he doesn't have superspermz that knock me up if I so much as take his pants off the clothes horse (disclaimer: I don't. I ain't his maid).

Scorpette · 26/01/2010 21:47

Yay! Anne-Marie Duff & James McAvoy are expecting their first child! She's one of my fave BESHes (39) and I wholeheartedly approve of their cougar-love. Now cue hilarious headlines about her being 'up the Duff'. Sigh.

SilverSky · 26/01/2010 22:01

Fellow Besh'ers,

You can keep Glee's Finn. I will happily take a Mr Schuester and hot skinhead but with mohawk football player sandwich.

No spectators I am afraid!

Now is the time of the fertile period. According to the books, the internets and the Gods, so we are using what Mother Nature gave us and I am hoping that at least one tiny swimmer is heading for the finish line.

Originally we were trying to avoid certain dates/months etc but since we didn't have any pot luck last summer, we are going with the when it happens it happens and we should be grateful that baby jebus has answered our prayers.

SilverSky · 26/01/2010 22:22

Check out BBC1 @ 10.35pm "Too Old To Be A Mum?" Though I think this refers to females in their 50s rather than us yoof-all types what are cruising through those glorious 30 something years..........

Bessie123 · 27/01/2010 08:48

SilverSky what did you think of it? I only saw the last 15 minutes or so but it really made me think about my prejudices. I had always thought it was just weird before but that woman who had the little girl in her 50s seemed like a really good mum.

CurlyCasper · 27/01/2010 15:11

Distinct lack of action here today, so I might as well add the daily
