Here it is girls - the all new, trying for a spring baby thread. Hope everyone from the Febraury thread can come on over and join us - plus any newcomers too of course!

Just wanted to wish lilaclotus happy holidays

Jersey, you can be fertile straight after coming off the pill, however if I could go back in time, I would have stopped a couple of months before wanting to start TTC and let my cycle get regular (obviously using other form of contraception in between times). Now I am all over the place, not knowing when ovulating and just spent too much money on tests because AF was 2 1/2 weeks late.

With DS I fell pg first month of trying, but had stopped the pill 4 month before that (for other reasons)

Last time I started taking folic acid when I found out, I was pg. This time I have taken them from starting TTC.

MandM, how are you feeling today?

MandM · 22/07/2005 10:31

Good morning!

I feel OK today thank you! Stomach pains have calmed down now and I just want this AF over with then we can get back to BDing!

How are you?

Lilaclotus - have a brilliant holiday! We went up to the Lake District for the day (we don't live too far away) the other weekend and it was gorgeous.

Jersey - thanks for that link. I'm going to go on and have a look in a minute

thanks dana. i hope to be able to test when we come back. i finally got those ovulation pains last night. it seems i ovulate 11 days before AF.
take care all and good luck with BDing and testing! there better be some BFPs when i get back!

Artoo · 22/07/2005 11:04

I'm tracking my temperature - I bought a kit from Boots with the thermometer and book to fill in, but I'm also using Fertility Friend (www.fertilityfriend.com ) to track my temperatures. I'm interested in seeing how it works (only done 5 days so far), and if it helps me learn anything about my cycle

Congrats MrsQ on your BFP Baby dust to everyone else.

Hugs,
Artoo.

homemama · 24/07/2005 09:09

Hi everyone! It's nice to be back (although not as nice as being away IYKWIM)
Congratulations MrsQ!!!
Sorry about the BFN MandM!
I finally got a blue line on the OV sticks on CD16. Trouble was, we were travelling then DH got v. drunk with his cousin and wasn't up to the job So all in all we managed it once during the fertile time. I know once can be enough but there's nothing wrong with wanting to maximise your chances!! I'm on CD24 now so we'll see at some point next week.

CroNanny · 24/07/2005 11:25

I was using first response monitor, for nearly 2 years and no luck.
I am annoyed now, as my gp does not want to help.
Funny thing is, 5 years ago I was on the pill and got pregnant but had a MC and since than have come off the pill and haven't been able to get pregnant. Shall I just go back on the pill
I don't know where else to turn for help. Any ideas or advice? I just don't know what to do any more, and my GP is horrible and does not want to help

MandM · 26/07/2005 10:26

Just bumping this up as we're slipping down the list!

Where is everyone this week?

Any news or updates?

Hi CroNanny - I'm sorry I don't really have any advice for you but some of the others might when they finally put in an appearance! Just a thought, are there any other doctors at the sme practice that you could ask to see instead of your normal one?

OP posts:
Dana · 26/07/2005 11:48

I am here MandM, but not a lot happening. Had a day off yesterday as we have friends to visit.

CD7 for me. AF still here, but nearly gone . Friends are here for 2 weeks, so any BDing will have to happen very quietly, as our house is not very sound proof .

Homemama, welcome back. Hope that one time will prove to be enough for you this month!!
Did you have a good holiday?

CroNanny, I have no advice either, but have a look at this thread which might help you. I would also suggest to change unhelpful GP if possible.

sarjon · 26/07/2005 12:11

Hi everyone, I've been trying to finish my dissertation for my degree so have been busy just lurking for past week!

Unfortunately, what with the dissertation and my DH working long shifts, BDing hasn't really been feasible!! I guess we'll have to try in ernest next month...

However, my BF has told me that shes 6 weeks pregnant!!! Yay! I'm proud Godmother to her 19 month old son and can't wait for the arrival of this little one! She had an awful 2 weeks where the dr thought she had miscarried but was still carrying the baby and she had to wait for 2 weeks til they would give her another scan. Turns out she'd worked her dates out wrong and all is fine, baby just 2 weeks younger than she thought!!!

Hope all is well with everyone?

x

homemama · 26/07/2005 13:32

Hi girls, I'm getting a little excited now as AF due on Fri. Despite only having managed it once during fertile time I'm ever hopeful. Got mild period like cramps today but then I also had those when I conceived DS so who knows.
CroNanny, sorry I has no useful advice for you but I would def recommend seeing another G.P
If AF hasn't arrived, I'll test on Sat am.
Hope everyone is well.

homemama · 27/07/2005 08:49

Morning ladies!
DS and I each have the most awful cold. The difference between us being that I just want to snuggle up quietly on the sofa whilst he still wants to rampage the entire house!
All DH said on the matter was don't let him get snot on the sofa!!!
Am I mad to want another one and have two under two?
Oh well, still looking forward to testing so I guess I'm just glutton for punishment.

homemama · 27/07/2005 08:50

p.s Good luck to your friend Sarjon! x

homemama · 28/07/2005 08:43

Is there just me left on this thread?
May as well bump us up anyway!

hope4bump · 28/07/2005 09:03

hello homemama, doesn't seem to be many people sending messages this week, may be because schools off. i don't think i have added a message on this thread before, but i do keep reading. just to fill you in, i'm ttc going to do an ultra early pg test on sunday, if i can wait that long, im 10DPO. whats your situation?

homemama · 28/07/2005 09:24

Hi H4B, I'm on CD28 (of 29) so if AF is a no show I'll test on sat.
This is our first month of trying as I've been waiting for AF to come back after giving up BF 2mths ago. We have one DS (8mths) and we would like them close in age.
What about you?

jersey · 28/07/2005 09:55

hi everyone, I've just been away for long weekend and then on course for work so haven't been near a PC!

I came on this morning so my mess up hasn't resulted in a preg after all. Now I'm broody and a little dissapointed. Have to wait till Xmas now as finances need sorting first.

Sis in law expecting twin girls no later than 2nd sept! Lucky her!!

Congrats to homemama and thanks to Dana. I'll get planning for xmas, fingers crossed.

hope4bump · 28/07/2005 10:19

Homemama - i had last depo inj Dec 04, got 1st AF in June, although has slight bleed in May. I have DD 14 and DS 11 from previous marriage(i was young). got married in May to DH who has no children so this will be our first, fingers crossed for us all.

Good luck to Jersey for xmas, and to all ttc.

We need some BFP on this thread

pigleychez · 28/07/2005 10:21

Hi,
About 2 weeks ago i started having symptoms of sore boobs, headaches, tiredness and grumbly belly. This was about a week before my AF, so i was wondering if thesewere pregnancy symptoms. However AF arrived one day late but only lasted for 2 days instead of my usual 4/5 days. I am now wondering if this could of been implantation bleeding or something as i am still (nearly 3 weeks later) feeling extremerly tired, having headaches/light headedness, backache and strange grumbly belly thats worse in the morning.
What do you think?

hope4bump · 28/07/2005 10:56

no expert, have you tested???

Dana · 28/07/2005 11:58

Homemama, I am still here but haven't had a lot to report. AF finished yesterday, so will be BDing like mad for the next 2-3 weeks (have no idea when I will be ovulating). Hope your AF doesn't show tomorrow and that you get a BFP on Sat.

Jersey, sorry that it wasn't to be this time, but maybe it is for the best if you weren't planning to start til after xmas. Really difficult if you're feeling broody, though. Took me 6 months to convince DH he was ready to try for another one.

H4B, welcome to the thread and good luck on Sunday .

Dana · 28/07/2005 11:59

pigleychez, a lot of women have light bleeds in early pregnancy, so could be the case for you. Only way to know is to do a test. Let us know how you get on....

MandM · 28/07/2005 12:51

Hello! I'm here too - don't panic Homemama.

Got a "polite" reminder from my boss the other day about my use of the internet in work time so have been trying to be a bit more restrained than normal! I might have to request a DSE assessment and complain about glare on my monitor so I can get my desk away where it can't be seen!

Goodluck to H4B and Pigleychez!

Nothing new here really, CD9 today. Dh has got a busy couple of weeks coming up!

I'll check in again soon when the boss isn't around!

OP posts:
Dana · 28/07/2005 13:13

MandM I am lucky - my desk is in a really good spot and my boss is in another country. Still, I try to limit my use of the internet, as I do have work to do as well

Sounds like our hubbies will be walking around with big on their faces for the next few weeks.

homemama · 29/07/2005 09:50

No AF yet today so I'm off to do the shop and I'll pick up a test whilst I'm there. I'll try not to test until tomorrow. (yeah right )
I'll let you all know.
