Hi again, where is a good place for one to order pre-seed?

Frosticle · 06/02/2010 00:30

SilverSB I ordered pre-seed from Amazon (believe it or not). Came in a handy tube so you can decide how much you want to use rather than pre-measured amounts. Good luck with it. My DP caught me mid-insertion - my own fault, I should have told him about it beforehand or shut the bathroom door - and found it all very amusing!

rowing my parents live in Comely Bank/Orchard Brae area - just off the Queensferry Road. Very handy for the West End.

Lightlyric you changed your name - aaargh!! Don't you know, I already have enough trouble remembering who everyone is? LOL at your drunken arpeggios. Fantastic!

Frosticle · 06/02/2010 00:40

My DD has her best friend staying with us tonight - it is their first ever sleep-over. They've been talking about having a sleep-over for months and they have both been so excited tonight that by the time I turned off the lights, they only chatted for a couple of minutes and fell straight to sleep. I've just been to check on them and they look so sweet!

Hi Dechen Welcome, sorry to hear about your situation. The fact you have already have two children means you may have a great chance of getting pregnant naturally. How long have you been trying? Is your dh keen to have children too, have you considered adoption? Just a thought. I often hear about people in their 40s getting pregnant naturally, oldest I know personally is 48.

Thanks LightLyric breast pain has eased off, just a bit embarrassed that the first time I met my new doctor, who is much younger than me, I needed to get my boobs out!

hairytriangle Good luck for the day 21 test.

Frosticle How old is DD? Mine is 5 and desperate to have a friend for a sleep over or go over to someone?s house. We just want to get past the bed wetting stage before we inflict her night-time antics on another family!

Boobs fine, needles bloomin? annoying, wish we had got the right ones! Still excited.

Waves to all

Hi everyone,

Still doing lots of lurking but not much posting. Here's a new roll call:

Hippy Chick - I added a week for your bump--I may be a bit off)

New people - please copy the list to a new message and add your info.

Kiwi Kat & Rowing--are you both starting an IVF cycle with your own eggs soon? I will start injections for my first IVF cycle ever in about 2 weeks and am trying my own eggs. I'd love more support and to hear your meds protocol. My RE is prescribing 450 IU of Follistim daily and nothing else. I'm wondering why only Follistim when I see so many other combinations of drugs (e.g. Menopur, Lupron)

Italian Greyhound - watching your DE cycle with grey interest too!

I am 45 and my hubby is 29. He would love to have a child. But we had a bad episode yesterday because I can't seem to cope with the pain and hopelessness of our TTC situation. I asked him to leave if I keep feeling like this. Idiotic...I know But when I look at him, knowing I can not give him that child ... it tears me apart.

We have both had all the NHS tests and came back normal. This is a few years ago. I had Clomid for 12 months and then it was over.

No more help.

Adoption ... Tried that. The process is harrassing to the point of degrading. I will never go there again.

I had AID to conceive my son and daughter. With my daughter I did not need any Clomid.

Does pre-seed help? Or is it just for when the sperm needs little leg up?

hairytriangle · 06/02/2010 10:03

Oh Dechen, so sorry to hear about your situation. have a virtual hug ((((Dechen)))) x

hairytriangle · 06/02/2010 10:05

I'm pretty sure I'm ovulating (i'm around day 12) - got a mucus cascade and a spot, but so far no rage (yet)

hairytriangle · 06/02/2010 10:07

Oh (sorry I'm being very self indulgent) the GP said although I've been 'trying' (well, off the pill) for almost six months, they will refer me for help after my 21 day progesterone test rather than expecting me to wait for a year, because i'm forty two! GP was really lovely

praggy · 06/02/2010 12:59

Hi all, I'm a newbie and wondering if anyone here with a history of recurrent miscarriages has had any success with chinese herbs. I'm over 40 and have had 3m/c in 12 months, all at around 9 weeks. Recurrent m/c clinic found no cause, and lost the tissue sample from last m/c , just told me to come back when I get preg again. Now TTC again but no success so far. (Became pregnant within 3-4 months of trying each time before) Periods are light and only two days, wondering if chinese herbs could help, and if so, any recommended herbs? Or practitioners in London? Greatly appreciated, thank you.

Woodelf · 06/02/2010 15:12

Hi Praggy and welcome. I can't really recommend any chinese medicine people as I tried this and it didnt do anything for me at all. However when I stopped trying with the foul tasting teas a few months later I finally got pg and had my son. Iwas 42 at the time and like yourself had had several early m/cs too. SO hang in there... sending a hug [praggy]

Woodelf · 06/02/2010 15:13

Actually forgot to add that at the grand age of nearly 47 am hoping to get pg again - although the arrival of AF the otherday after only a 24 day cylcle peed me off a bit. Anyone else having short cycles? And how the heck can you tell when you are ovulating??? An exasperated elf here!!!

ALFIEMAC · 06/02/2010 15:31

Just a quick hello while my boys (twins) watch CBBs!!!
Hopeful45 - you say you are about to try your first cycle of IVF using your own eggs.
I will be 44 later this year and would like to use my own eggs if possible for IVF treatment - are you using a UK clinic and if so do you mind letting me know which one.
We had successful ICSI fertility treatment and had twin boys aged 4 at the end of May but would love to have another child. Have had 3 x further attempts at IVF (FET and ET) but unfortunately not successful.
Must dash

hippychick66 · 06/02/2010 15:47

woodelf I was having short cycles (nothing longer than 24 days - 1 was only 21 days) when i fell preg. We'd just been to see a consultant to find out why the short cycles when I found out i was preg. Not sure when I ovulated cos I never got a positive on those horrid bloody OPK's.

What I'm trying to say is that it is still possible to get preg with short cycles, just try to do the deed about every 3 days to cover all your bases.

You could still go the GP to try to find out why cycles are short. My GP thought it was cos I had recently removed the coil and things were still settling down. Good luck

praggy · 06/02/2010 19:03

Hello all,

Hope you mind me joining in, have updated the list to include myself. Hopefully can turn my name from praggy ( pragmatic ).. to "preggy" soon (and this time have the beanie stick around!)

Thanks for the [hug], and the encouragement. I'll give it two more months and then try IVF methinks. As for the short cycles/telling when you're ovulating - I'm guessing OPK's and all the other supposed signs aren't working in your case then?

KiwiKat · 07/02/2010 00:13

Rowing - or anyone else in the know - help again, please! (Apologies to those on the Assisted Conception thread for exact repetition of this question.) My drugs were dropped off today, with a note to keep them in the fridge, but I'm not sure if it means to keep them ALL in the fridge, or just some of them. There are lots! There's Pregnyl, which I KNOW needs to be in there, but what do I do with the Cetrotide and Menopur? I rang a friend to ask her and realised how little I know about the whole thing when she started talking about 'downregging' - what?! Need to do a bit of research, I think, and take my head out of the sand - this is HAPPENING!

Welcome to the newbies, this thread has some great advice, superb handholding, and fabulous feisty females so you're in very good company.

hopeful45 · 07/02/2010 07:50

ALFIE MAC - I live in Canada and am going to the U.S. for treatment since no one will try here. I am told the odds of success are in the 1%-2% region with my own eggs but still feel I need to give it a try. I'm just trying to figure out the meds protocol to ensure my RE has me on the best program. I am high FSH (15-20), low AMH (Preggy!)*Rowing I see now from the roll call you are trying FET in February (now?)

Kiwi Kat I've lost track of what you are doing. Can you please let me know?

Anyone know why the bold works sometimes and not others??

Bye all!

hairytriangle · 07/02/2010 09:49

Hi, Praggy, I'm 42 and also TTC for first time, although never tried before. Welcome! x

Hi, HairyTriangle, and thanks for the welcome .How long have you been trying? x

KiwiKat · 07/02/2010 11:45

Hi Hopeful, we're having ivf, and I have my first scan on 17 Feb, and start the injections then. Am trying (and failing) not to freak out, which is ridiculous - I'm a grown woman, for heaven's sake!

I think I've figured out the bold issue - you have to put a star on each side of each word - so it would be spiral queen, if you see what I mean.

hippychick66 · 07/02/2010 12:42

Nothing to do with conception but - you have to run the whole name into one to get it bold. (as Kiwi said).

eg Italian grey hound Italiangreyhound

My thrush is back (with symptoms this time!!!) That's the colour of my face - I'm not actually angry, just red in the face from trying not to scratch. Docs tomorrow morning - counting the minutes.
