Hi everyone,

After having a few months break from Mumsnet I thought it was a good time to come back. I am now entering my 10th month of TTC, I am finding it really hard and frustrating tbh!I also stopped using my CBFM but I am thinking about switching it back on - although to late this month as i dont have the sticks.

My DP went to the docs and they mentioned that he had 'lazy sperm', this has really worried us both and don't know what this means in terms of TTC. He is awaiting further results from another sperm test - so we will see. In the meantime he is going to start taking Zinc to see if that meakes any difference! Hopefully it will all work out.

Hi NewMember, it's nice to have your company again, I wondered where you had gone and hoped you were ok. I had 6 weeks off MN too as was getting myself very worked up about TTC and it seems to have worked as i'm feeling quite relaxed now Please don't worry too much about the sperm test, it only takes one! A friend of mine was told he had a low and lazy sperm count on his first test but the second came back normal - must have caught him on an off day the first time! Good luck for second set of results.

InTheMidnightGarden I do know exactly how you feel, when we first started to officially TTC I was convinced we were infertile ! But the longer time goes on the more relaxed I feel, like it must be my turn soon and it's reassuring seeing other people get BFPs, makes me realise it is actually possible. I think we all feel a little at times if we're honest, only human afterall

How is everyone today? I have bought a very tight pencil skirt today, thought I might as well invest some time in tempting fate seeing as there is nothing else I can do to TTC just yet this cycle!

Tea x

misshoohaa · 03/10/2009 18:11

Hi all,
Feeling confused and frustrated. Period is late - day 39 of my cycle now, and 3 BFN!!

Did one Thursday, one Friday and one today all negative. It may be that I came of the pill in July, but my cycle seemed to get bac kto normal straight away......

Any chance these could be wrong or am I delusional!

Wld be interested to hear if anyone has had a similar experience and the end result.

I am so tired this week, and felt pretty rough this morning, so could be signs of being up the duff, but these negatives are pretty disheartening!
Almost want AF to arrive, so at least I know!

Thanks everyone, enjoy XFactor!

liahgen · 03/10/2009 18:49

Welcome newmember good to see my cycle buddy back, (well not really but you know what I mean)

tea i'm glad you're feeling relaxed, they do say it makes a difference. Now,just teach that tyo myself.

Dh out tonight, he's dreading counting the days till next weeks shagathon bless him

Have nice weekend everyone.

NewMember · 03/10/2009 18:52

Ha ha liahgen I know what you mean. How r u getting on?

liahgen · 03/10/2009 18:56

Bit crap to be perfactly honest. I jumped off the June bus in a strop cos I was sooo convinced I was preggers this month and was sooo disappointed when i wasn't.

Am now starting on vitamins, seeds, off coffee, coke, (liquid variety )Off to docs Tuesday, we've been trying a year now, had early mc at Xmas but zilch ever since. Not even a hold it up tothe light and really squint knid of suggestion of a line since.

Part from that ok thanks.

Sorry for moan. You?

liahgen · 03/10/2009 18:57

and to make matters worse, I can't even spell
perfectly.

NewMember · 03/10/2009 19:16

We've been trying a year now, had early mc at Xmas but zilch ever since.

I copied your line, as thats exactly what has happened to us! The doc called my mc a 'chemical pregnancy'! We have been told to wait until Jan and if nowt has happened we will go through fertility checks!

It is so frustrating, especially when everyone around me either has a child or is preg lol

WickedWitchSouthWest · 03/10/2009 19:20

evening all

hi newmember! Good luck for this cycle! I'm amazed how many of us are now racking up the cycles, it's brilliant to have somewhere to moan and strop like this without bothering dh with all my hormonal nonsense!Oh my dh is taking zinc too as of late last month as he does a lot of running and cycling and apparently hard exercise can affect sperm too.

lia good luck with the docs. I hope you get a helpful one like mine! I'm quite scared about having tests just in case there IS something wrong coz it's like failing in some way! But then if it's something treatable then that's a good thing, surely? Argh my brain hurts.

tea I've treated myself to a rather tight denim dress...

liahgen · 03/10/2009 19:46

tight denim dress sounds very nice. Sadly my rather tight sz 16 figure wouldn't do it justice I fear. I am rather tempted to book our holiday next year for July though, or early August

newmember I hate it when people refer to it as chemical pregnancy, the little bean must have implanted somewhat for the hormone to be produced and the test to show positive. Was still a loss to me. That's 3 i've had altogether although not in a row and at varying stages.

Also I have just realised that you are TTC#1 I have walked in your shoes and it's completely crap. It took me 9 years to fall with my 1st. Test after test just showed endemetriosis and docs just told me, you've virtually nil chance of conceiving on your own, come back when you're ready to try IVF

Started on the run up to ivf, and bingo, 5 wksa after yet another laparoscopy, period 5 days late, then those wonderful 2 blue lines.

I really really hope it happens for you soon.

WWSW did you just buy normal zinc from boots or similar, getting dh some on Monday when I go shopping, and someone else suggested effervescent vit c for the chaps too. Bloody ttc is costing us a fortune.

WickedWitchSouthWest · 03/10/2009 19:52

misshoohaa I'm sorry I didn't intentionally ignore you! I know of quite a few women who have had odd extra long cycles while ttc but bfn. I guess it's a waiting game and trying not to think about it (ha!). Hope something happens for you soon, it's the not knowing that's such a nightmare.

lia yes just Tescos own brand. It's was 3 for 2 so got zinc for him and pregnacare for me It was ridiculously cheap, I think £2.49 for 180 one-a-day tabs :O Have alos heard that Vit C is good, we have some of that in the house but not effervescent? Is it that specifically that helps? He's not taking that as well - baby steps in our house! Typical man believes he's perfect lol

liahgen · 03/10/2009 19:55

No I don't think the efferervescent makes a difference, think she might have been referring to the way her chap takes it.

Baby steps, yes us too, we are now on plan B, ie vits and extra healthy foods, oranges every day for us both and no more chocoltae and coffee. (except Monday when our local Starbucks is closing and we are having our weekly coffee morning in there )

NewMember · 03/10/2009 19:58

Thanx liahgen

My DP got Zinc today from Holland & Barret, I think it was £9. Hopefully they will help 2!

Catch up soon ladies - take care!

TeaFan · 03/10/2009 22:19

Evening all, do you think zinc would work if I ground it up and hid it in his food - there is no way he'd take a supplement otherwise

Does anyone else get really achy restless legs when AF visits? It's either that or all the walking round the shops today!

misshoohaa · 03/10/2009 22:32

Thanks Wicked Witch........ The sensible part of me knows that it is just a late AF, but the little part of me is still thinking I am PG!
DP also is convinced I am, not based on fact obviously but says he 'has a feeling!'. Bless him, I think he is a bit excited about being a daddy one day! Although it doesn't help that he keeps making references to me being pregnant.
Anyway my nipples ar hurting. Weird they have been hurting for the last week in the evening only. WTF?

How we stay sane duting TTC is a miracle!

pointsmakeprizes · 03/10/2009 23:34

Hi, would love to join this thread for some support and distraction to pass the time. Was convinced last cycle was it, had timed everything right (using CBFM) - had all the symptoms - blue veins on chest, heavy sore boobs, dreamt I was pregnant and thought I felt implantation pains - it doesn't get any more desperate than that!

TTC No.2 at the moment. Am on Cycle 3, UCL anywhere between 31 - 36 Days, on CD 2.

DS took a year so understand the frustration of TTC.

Does anyone have any information on irregular cycle lengths - does it mean anything, mine could be anywhere between 31 - 36 days, i'm pretty sure i ovulate each cycle using the CBFM. I used the CBFM last time and charted and i did ovulate each month.

mousemole · 04/10/2009 15:40

hi all
day 22 for me so time to start imagining those symptoms all over again .
So far I have slightly sore nipples,a lot of CM ( slippy and wet, sorry if TMI) and a LOT of moodiness ! Oh and a DH who keeps asking 'do you think you are pregnant ?' !
How about everyone else ? [grin}

nymphadora · 04/10/2009 16:59

Still lurking! Expecting to join you all later this week but for now still have fingers crossed!

Pinkwine · 04/10/2009 18:21

Hi, day 26 for me and I am beginning to get the back ache that I normally get just before AF, but also thinking it could be a sign!! Resisting testing as only two days to go and don't want to waste a test... why do we put ourselves through this?
