I can only answer for myself - I didn't have a diagnosed progesterone issue (I requested the injections as I was concerned about my luteal phase) so only had injections for the 13 days pst TX (infact we dropped one so only did 12 days).
There is a anesthetic cream you can buy - though I didn't - try fertility friends website for info. Are they injecting in leg or bum? Think I recall leg was more painful - assume they are getting you to take weight of the limb they are injecting into and encouraging you to relax the muscle?

BTW - no point symptom spotting as the injections have their own side effects so just try to go with the flow.

Do as much or as little as you fancy doing. Forcing yourself to do nothing [goes into daydream trying to imagine the bliss] is as stressful as keping yourself busy.

good morning Gilly It's very interesting to hear about the progesterone injections. Are they in addition to the prog pessaries? I also bled on day 11 on ivf cycle #1 and on day 12 of ivf cycle #2. I will definitely ask about prog injections when I meet with the clinic nurse in 4/5 weeks time.

Did you go to blasts this time? I can't remember and am being lazy. My clinic, Barts, London have never mentioned us going to blasts. But they did say that anyone going to blasts would need to realise that there could be no embryos (or just one) to transfer if they don't make it do Day 5.

My fingers are crossed for you and DH. I hope you can find peace and tranquility during your time off work. Remember to keep your core/abdomen warm at all times as i've read that it helps the implantation process. Godd luck to you girl.

KC - Prog injections are the old way of doing it - & usually requite a nurse to inject (it is a muscle inj - so a little sore - I had a numb patch for months when one went in a but of a bad angle!).
I just wanted to get through the tww - as I felt my body was moving PERHAPS too soon for the pg to take hold. Our 2nd cycle worked for us - which may or may not have been due to the prog injs. Hope that helps. Feel free to ask more.

Hi domestic godess! Poor u having to do these injections. I had to use prog until 14 wks and injected blood thinners every day, it's a complete pain! But worth it if it gets u nearer to that goal!
Bern thinking of you and sending lots of positive vibes your way. I think it's only the injections that release your eggs that can give you a false positive not the progestrone.

gilly I remember you from some of the other threads and was wondering about you too. I've just been through my first (failed) IVF and now starting second. (but in the overall picture, I'm in the 4 year ttc club)

This part is the most agonizing, those last few days of waiting. Hold on - symptoms don't mean anything at this point (could be good, could be bad - no one knows), your whole body is shifting from the stimming and the progesterone, just hold on and keep taking all of your meds and injections - you will know very soon. Everything is crossed for you!

I had to do the prog inj at home, I'd stab then DH would pull air into the syringe then inject - he absolutely hates touching it! However he can put up with it if I do the actual stabbing. Sometimes if I hit a nerve, I actually pull out and stab again while he cringes. If I could bend back that far I'd do the whole bit - and he'd be much happier. The injections really do help in my opinion, gives you a much higher level in your bloodstream over time. I also did the suppositories twice a day, but no pessies.

I know I have no exp of IVF but I had the WORST cramps for 2 days before my bfp - was sure it was AF on the way. Don't want to give you false hope but if it is positive your uterus and ligaments would be starting to expand/adjust so you never know what the cramps are

Gilly - prog injections can do all kind of things - so try to be as neutral as you can about any symptons - maybe the drugs, maybe signs of good or bad - you'll only know later.
Update only if you feel you want to - we are all supporting of you & we will all understand if you don't feel like chatting - equally if you want a chat then post as must as is useful.

Try to get as much rest as you can.

Hoping its not what you think Gilly. FWIW - another one here with period cramps before BFPs (all of them I think, except maybe the m/c).
