Hi everyone and thanks for making me feel welcome. I've added myself to the list.

In answer to your question claire we're moving from the North West of England to Sydney. Can't wait to actually see the sun.

WhiteRoses I've told a couple of close friends that we're TTC. A friend's SIL has been trying for a while and her MIL felt she was not being supportive enough. So she's gone to stay with them to help them.......not sure how she's intending to "help" them conceive-hopefully she's not going to check they're doing it right!! This has convinced me that I'm not going to tell anyone else in case they turn up to help us!

Congratulations Stevens. Looks like November is turning out to be a lucky month!

Welcome back Claire, glad to hear you've decided to recomence TTC.

I think I spotted some EWCM this afternoon, so I'm just stopping off briefly at MN en route to leaping on DH.

WhiteRoses · 16/11/2009 23:13

Hi.

Aww Vix, sorry to hear that...

Good luck Yorkshire!

Sevans - you think you'll keep it to yourself for another twelve weeks?! Really?!

Bunny - haha! Really don't even want to think about what that means!

No, we've told nobody. The one person I've never kept secrets from before is my mum, so it feels a bit odd to be keeping this from her. But at the same time, I cringe at the thought of her knowing we're having sex. I know she knows we're doing it anyway and that I'm being really silly, but I don't want her knowing we're at it so constantly. Is that really insane?!

CONGRATULATIONS EMSIE!!!

Ozziegirly · 17/11/2009 00:55

Great news Emsie congratulations!

Back to CD1 again for me this month.

I'll not be trying this coming month as I am on holiday with my parents, but actually a month off seems like quite a nice thought in a weird way!

claireinthecommunity · 17/11/2009 01:19

Congratulations Emsie - what a month!

Ozzie - sorry about your AF. I understand what you mean completely about having a month off, I've found it quite refreshing and am now ready to start again. Enjoy the holiday

DH and I have told a few close friends and neighbours that we are TTC, funnily enough we haven't told any family members - just people we see most days and that we know are discreet and considerate.

WhiteRoses - it'll be great to have a cycle buddy - but you never know, you may get a BFP this month and have already graduated before I get working on it

Yorkshire - hope you made good use of that EWCM

Bunny - another Ozzie (to be) how exciting - when are you hoping to be set up over there?

Sorry about your AF Vix - here's to next month!

kkas · 17/11/2009 09:06

congrats emsie!!! So happy for you

vix and ozzie sorry to hear about AFs. treat yourselves to something nice

ozzie i've updated you on the list, but not sure what cycle you're on hun. hope you have a lovely holiday

I've told my mum and sis and my 4 closest girlfriends. DH hasn't told any of his family, but I think they have their suspicions too. At least none of them are trying to "help".... not sure what that means!

My temp raised a bit more today, so am getting a little too excited for my own good. I'm sure it's just gonna end in disappointment, but here's hoping while it lasts....

good luck any more testers today!

Congrats Emsie! How about those First Response tests!!! Came through for you too! I am really happy for you and understand what kind of week you have been through!

November seems to be a great month for this group! Bring on more BFPs!

pixiestix · 17/11/2009 15:34

Congratulations Emsie !!!

Claire its so good to have you back, you are always so lovely to everyone!

Kkas - I think I'm going to try to hold out until next Tuesday before testing as I had a freak 30 day cycle last month. If the same thing happens again that would make me due on Monday, if I get my normal cycle I will be due Saturday. Argggh! I hate this time of the month!

Sorry AF got you, Vix, Ozzie and Chalky

Calyx · 17/11/2009 16:18

EmsieRo whoopeeee congratulations! Brilliant news! So the faint lines did mean there was a BFP coming... Maybe we can call those SFPs (small faint positives) LOL Good luck for a gorgeous pregnancy xx

NovemberAli · 17/11/2009 18:11

Congratulations sevans and Emsie!

AF due Monday for me but seen as my last cycle was 54 days if it's late I won't be holding my breath - I don't think I'll be able to resist testing though

Fingers crossed for a BFP for you pixiestix!

bunnygirl80 · 17/11/2009 18:32

Congratulations Emsie

WhiteRoses · 17/11/2009 19:48

Hi,

Sorry to hear about AF Ozzie. But at least you've got a nice holiday to look forward to!

Emsie - have you come back down to earth yet?! And Sevans, how are you feeling? Spireal - hope you're well too.

Claire - that'd be lovely if I did get my BFP this month but to be honest, I'm trying not to get my hopes up. I'm not 100% sure I've ovulated this month and have had quite a few crampy days, so I don't know what that means. But anyway, it's only cylce 2 for us so I guess early days. Have you taken any chances yourself this month?

Kkas - temperature rise sounds good! When are you thinking of testing? Next Monday? I think that's probably when I'll do one too.

Interesting to hear that you all seem to have told at least someone else about TTC. See, I think part of the problem with me not wanting to tell anyone too, is that if I told my mum (and she'd be the one I'd want to tell most), my husband would then want to tell his mum, and she would then tell the rest of the world! Dunno how it'll work if/when I get pregnant! I may not have the choice to keep it quiet till after the first scan, which would be what I'd like... Wow, am I getting ahead of myself here or what?!

homebound · 17/11/2009 19:58

Hi everyone!

Im back after a couple of months post ?MC and back 'back on the horse' so to speak...lol!

Im a bit sad though...ive not had any signs of anything even resembling a period this month which normally would make me very excited....but Ive been testing like a maniac and all negative...pouting. How am i supposed to try when i am lost in the midst of my cycle!!!!

I have a flight booked in a month to boot and ill be away from hubby for a month.....so if we dont it will be another wait

I know i shouldnt be anxious and should just sit back and enjoy the ride...but...hey maybe this is just pms! LOL

Sorry fro the gripe folks and looking forward to getting to know you all as you seem really nice x

claireinthecommunity · 17/11/2009 23:00

Ahhh thanks pixie

WhiteRoses - there is no change at all I could have fallen this month, I've been a moody cow and DH hasn't seen any action for ages

It's going to be interesting this week for me, I bumped into an acquaintance today (she has recently had a little boy) she is coming over to visit later in the week - her little boy is six weeks old! What will be interesting is how I will feel with a relatively newborn baby in my home.

Hello homebound - sorry to hear of your recent MC and sorry to hear you are feeling sad at the moment, don't worry about having a gripe now and then - I think we all have at some point! Yeah you're right it's a great bunch here If you post your stats (how many months you've been TTC (cycle?), your usual cycle length (UCL?) and the cycle day you are currently on (cycle day?)), someone will add you to the list. Happy riding

WhiteRoses · 18/11/2009 10:13

Hi everybody!

Welcome, Homebound. Sorry to hear you're feeling bad. Hopefully a good night's sleep has made things seem better.

Aww Claire, I'm sure you'll more than make up for it next month! ;) Meeting up with your friend and her baby will be a good practise if nothing else! How are you with babies? Have you got a lot of experience with them?

What about everyone else? Do you all have a lot of experience with babies? I worry sometimes that I don't have a LOT of experience, but I was the first baby my mum ever held and she did a pretty wonderful job so I guess it can't be that big a deal!

Any word about Hamster, CJ and Blueberry? They're our next hopefuls, aren't they? Fingers crossed!

No real news from me... Last night with DH was just lovely. We went to bed nice and early and we did nothing but cuddle up and fall asleep! Makes a change from all the BDing, which has been nice, but has also been happening nearly every night! I'm still not sure if ovulation's happened or not, but I'm past the middle of what would be an average cycle now and I don't seem to have a particularly large amount of CM, so I'm not really feeling like it was bad to pass up an opportunity last night either. Having said that, we'll keep doing it again from tonight onwards, just in case. Such a pain having such irregular cycles! I know it's only our second cycle but I really hope it doesn't have a negative impact on TTC...

Spirael · 18/11/2009 11:37

Morning all, just checking in on everyone in this mad flurry of BFPs!

I've had zero experience with children younger than around 10, myself. I have one younger brother, but he was born when I was nearly 2, so I really don't remember a whole lot about it. All my cousins were born around the same time period, so I don't remember that either, and I'm the first of my generation to be getting to the point of starting a family!

My friends aren't much help either, to be honest. One set are in Canada and I haven't seen them since before they fell pregnant and had their daughter. The only other set, of acquaintances via DH, had a child accidentally because "they didn't think she could get pregnant" while going at it like bunnies. I also despair at some of their parenting techniques, though I guess it could be educational in the way of what not to do.

Anyway, the point of that long rant was that I also have little/no experience, so you're not alone WhiteRoses. I'm mostly figuring that I'll get by reading books, being taught and figuring it out on the fly.

Things aren't going too bad here, though I've had a bit of a wobble over the last 48 hours when I discovered on Monday evening that I was very lightly spotting. Since it was almost exactly the same time and method my MC started last time, cue the panic. Fortunately, it had stopped by Tuesday morning and not got any heavier. After a panicky duvet day yesterday, I'm starting to believe that it's not coming back, so hopefully everything is ok!

Hope things are going well for everyone else. Who's next up for testing? Anyone over the weekend..?

WhiteRoses · 18/11/2009 12:15

Hi Spireal,

Good to hear from you. Sounds like you had a bit of a bad time, right enough, but didn't you say your BFP was better than last time too? Just need to hang onto that thought and try and not worry. The spotting was only light and didn't last long too. [hug]

I've had a lot of experience with children but not so much with newborns. Like you, I'm the first in the family to TTC (my sister's only 16 so that's a relief!) One good friend had a baby a year ago, but we don't live very near to each other and mostly communicate over the phone nowadays, rather than actually meeting up, cause we're just so busy. I think I do wonder sometimes how I will cope, but DH reminds me of some people we know of (maybe a bit like the couple your DH knows, Spireal!) and the fact that their DCs somehow manage to survive despite the odds! Plus, as I say, I was the first baby my mum (and my dad, for that matter!) ever held and they did a great job. And they're around now too, Dad having just retired, as is my mother in law, who had 6 children. Between that and MN, I'm sure we'll be fine! Just interesting to hear of others' experiences!

WhiteRoses · 18/11/2009 12:32

Ooh, and about who's testing - I want to know that too! If I'm right, AF is now a few days overdue for Hamster and due for CJ and Blueberry. I don't know what Zippy's doing, because she might or might not be due too...

I MIGHT cave and start testing over the weekend! See, if I'm on a short cycle, AF's due on Monday, meaning I could do a First Response today. If I'm on an average cycle, AF'd be due a week on Friday, meaning I could do a FR this Saturday. However, I'd like to think I'll be able to hold out until Monday, because if I'm on a long cycle, I won't even have ovulated by the weekend!

sevans · 18/11/2009 14:47

Welcome homebound! We need to add you to the list. Send over your stats and one of us will do it. I'm sorry about your MC and that you are feeling bad at the moment. I'm sending lots of babydust your way!

whiteroses, I have plenty of friends that have had no experience with babies before and are doing a wonderful job. I'm sure you learn quick! Lucky for me, I have an almost 13 month old nephew and I have had the opportunity to care for him on several occasions.

I got the results of my blood test and they confirm my BFP! That makes me feel much better because I was in somewhat disbelief about it! I haven't started feeling sick yet. I've only noticed that I am peeing a lot more and have a little fatigue and occasional stomach cramps that only last for a few minutes. Oh, and the sore boobs but I've been having that since a few days after ovulation. The doctor is supposed to call me sometime today with further instructions. I think I am about 5 weeks but I could be wrong. I hope you don't mind me hanging around this thread. I've just grown close to chatting with you girls about all of this stuff and want to see more BFPs!

Good luck to everyone testing soon!

pixiestix · 18/11/2009 18:29

Sevans - you had better stay on this thread or I will have to resort to stalking you! Its awful when people get a BFP and then abandon us poor TTC-ers! [sniff] I need to hear pregnancy news to keep me motivated!

WhiteRoses - I am going to follow your example and try to hold off testing until Monday, so it will be me, you and Kkas in a very nervous group of three come Monday morning. I don't hold out a lot of hope for me, but still have my fingers tightly crossed!

Welcome homebound!

Well, like a lot of you guys, I have had limited experience with newborns. I'm reasonably ok at putting a nappy on but I still have that "Oh my god, I'm going to break its neck" phobia when switching from arm to arm/ picking them up from their cribs etc. Looking forward to getting very, very experienced at it all just as soon as my body decides to start playing the game properly!

WhiteRoses · 18/11/2009 18:55

Sevans - great news about the bloods. That's really lovely that your baby will have a cousin so closse in age too.

Like Pixie, I love hearing from all of you who have already had your BFPs. Really glad you're planning on sticking around.

Pixie - did Kkas already say she was testing on Monday? To be honest, I don't know how nervous I'll be on Monday morning because half of me will probably be thinking I'm wasting my time anyway, not even knowing if ovulation has happened yet! I'm really fully expecting a BFN but at the same time, if I am pregnant, I'm going to want to know about it asap.
