Congratulations on the engagement Immaterial I'll probably still be here in the new year (TTC or not, as the case may be )

Trying4Baby1 · 12/11/2009 21:33

Gosh it's all happening here now. More BFPs and weddings. So happy for everyone! Hope everyone's keeping well and hoping for some more BFPs for everyone! I'm feeling fine but still tired, just waiting on the supposed rush of energy that I'm supposed to have about now. Really need it actually as lots needing done in the house but can't be arsed!

sevans · 12/11/2009 22:38

Hi Trying! It's so nice to hear from you! How far along are you? You were our first BFP!! I hope you get your energy soon!

Ozziegirly · 12/11/2009 22:57

Immaterial that's great news about getting married, congratulations!

And LadyEmmalou I'm glad everything is now ok, that must have been really scary for you.

Well, I tested this morning - stupid I know as it's only CD25 so I'm not even late yet. And it was a BFN anyway. Silly really to test early and when I have no symptoms, but the test was just sitting there winking up at me.....

addie81 · 12/11/2009 23:26

AF arrived yesterday. Hummph. The advantage of obsessive over use of home pregnancy tests is that you already know you are not pregnant by the time your period comes so you avoid the massive disappointment which that would otherwise bring!! Oh well, maybe November will prove lucky for some of us. Many congratulations to anyone with a BFP this cycle though.
My husband's response to AF arriving was that we didn't "try hard enough" this past month! he thinks we didn't have enough sex. This makes me wonder how much sex everyone else has during the fertile phase? is once or twice during that period just not enough? should we be doing it three times a day? That would not be possible for us - we are both lawyers working very antisocial hours - barely time to eat/speak to each other, never mind have sex dozens of times!!!

Ozziegirly · 12/11/2009 23:35

Hey addie - welcome to yet another lawyer to the thread - there are 3 or 4 of us I think....

And as for the amount of sex, I think you're 'supposed" to do it every other day from about CD10 for the best chance.

I figure if we can have sex on about CD12, 14 and 16 as a minimum it should cover the bases (obviously it depends when you ovulate). Although this month I am going to start OPKs as we have been now having regular well timed sex for 6 months and nothing has happened.

It's tedious when it's drummed into you from age 14 how incredibly easy it is to fall pregnant and you can get pregnant at any time, and then you start trying and find out that it's all a big lie.

Calyx · 13/11/2009 07:29

Morning girls and happy Friday 13th (...!)

Just on before I get ready for work and wanted to say congratulations Immaterialgirl! Wedding wedding wedding! Yayyy it's great, mine was in August and although tiny and quiet it was just what we wanted, I hope you have a gorgeous time planning it and have great fun on the big day!

Well today is CD35, and I think I won't be testing this weekend as I've had a sense of humour-ectomy over the past 2 days according to DH and a headache yesterday and CM is kind of off white instead of pure white (sorry) so today is probably arrival day for AF. Oh well!

I think it's Superdrug tests for me for next time though, thanks everyone who gave advice!
Whiteroses, thanks again, I managed to hold out because I've never done a test before, didn't know what to buy, and... er.... kind of got 'the fear' in case it was a BFP (is that bad?!) LOL I was definitely going to get one on Saturday if nothing had happened though as DH has been asking every day 'what's your temperature like today?' and 'anything happening 'down there?''

Sevans, are you having aunt flo round or did you do a test yet...? Luck luck luck to you!

How are you Blueberry? Have things settled down yet?

Ladyemma... suspected ectopic pregnancy sounds AWFUL and when DH away as well. I hope everything just sails along beautifully for you from now on x

Did you test Emmsiero? How was it? Fingers are crossed as it did sound like you tried early... I'm going to check in when I get back from work and see if you have updated us!

Addie81 well I hope you don't have to do it 3 times a day; my DH likes doing it but don't think we have it in us to do it more than once a day especially if I'm going to make him do it every day for a week/every other day for a couple of weeks! I think once a day is fine but do try the old lying on your back for half an hour after each time to make it count

Ozziegirly fingers crossed for the next test. This thread is lovely, I feel it's much better than being by yourself and only having your own symptoms/ups and downs to think about.

Gosh 2 minutes to get ready and go LOL! Better rush...! Bye for now, all

Morning all. Welcome to all the new people, there seems to have been lots arrive recently! Also, massive congratulations to Immaterial on your engagement!!

I got my BFP this month and I managed to DTD 4 times. On CDs 11, 14, 17 and 18. From looking back at my EWCM observations and temperature chart, I'm still relatively sure I ovulated on CD 17. Even if that does mean I got my BFP only 6 days later.

Not sure if it helped at all but I used PreSeed for the second and fourth attempts. I also got DH into boxers (rather than briefs) and taking zinc for the month. I used OPKs daily too, but didn't get a single positive! Though evidently I must have ovulated at some point.

I hope things are going well for everyone. Who's testing this weekend? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

fulhamgirl · 13/11/2009 09:13

Omg guys havent been on here in ages just logged on to have a look.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

chalky3 · 13/11/2009 10:15

addie81 bad luck, at least the waiting is over. I got a BFN on Tuesday but still no AF so starting to convince myself that it might have been too early to test!
EmsieRo I'm in the same position as you, why no AF and why no BFP? This is torture, I just want to know one way or the other!
Congratulations to ImmaterialGirl, so happy for you!
Going to get more HPTs later, I'm all out of sticks to pee on. Will try to hold off until tomorrow morning as I've been getting signs that AF is on the way for a few days.

Good luck everyone testing this weekend!

kkas · 13/11/2009 11:32

addie sorry to hear about AF - let me know if I've updated you correctly on the list and treat yourself to something nice this weekend!

good luck to all those AF no shows and testers over the weekend! my fingers are crossed/sprinking baby dust to you all!

last night a small glass of wine set me off on one of the worst migraines i've had in years. really really bad. usually i'm fine with wine, so hopefully a sign but definitely will be staying away from it at least til i know either way. don't want to go through that pain again!

hope you guys have a great weekend, despite the weather!

emsie and chalky, I?m on the same boat as you. No AF and no BFP! What is going on?

sevans · 13/11/2009 14:33

Yesterday I had ovulation pains similar to what I had when I was ovulating. All too weird. And my temps are still up. I am going to buy a different kind of pregnancy test this weekend because maybe (hopefully) my dollar store cheapies are crap! I think I may call my doctor today.

Calyx · 13/11/2009 17:10

Oh well, don't have to worry about getting to Superdrug... AF with a vengeance today! That was my longest cycle since TTC, 10 days longer than usual. Good news is headache I had yesterday is gone, tiredness yesterday also gone, I feel human again So it's a whole new cycle again for me.

Sevans, Emmsie and Chalky, fingers crossed and for everyone else who's waiting to test too!

I'm off to clean the house (for the first time in a week LOL!), good weekend to everyone! xx

Calyx, I'm sorry AF arrived but at least you can move forward and stop playing the stupid waiting game! I'm happy to see you are feeling well.

Called the doctor and if no AF by Monday, I am going to go in to do a blood test to check for pregnancy. In the meantime, I am going to buy a better brand test this weekend and see what it says. Still hoping my dollar store cheapies are crap!

Sorry that AF came for you Calyx, I hope you're feeling OK about it and will still get to have a good weekend. At least your headache and tiredness have gone.

It seems to have settled down a little bit, but I am still experiencing some spotting when I wipe (sorry TMI!). Still no other symptoms of AF, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see. It's odd but it seems that I only ever get mid cycle bleeding, of some kind, when we TTC. Has anyone else had this?

Good luck to everyone testing this weekend!!! I hope you get your BFP!!

To everyone whose AF has arrived - the next 2 weeks will go by much quicker than the last 2 weeks have!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend

sevans · 13/11/2009 21:16

EmsieRo, the test I took this morning had a very, very, very, very faint line that appeared within the 10 minutes. It may have been an evaporation line. It is lighter than the line on my Tuesday test that appeared hours later. Maybe it will be darker when I get home today. I haven't gone crazy buying tests yet. I've just bought four dollar store cheapies last Saturday and so far have used three of them. I am going to buy First Response or some other similar brand this weekend and test again. I guess as long as AF hasn't arrived we still have some hope. If she is going to come, I just wish she did already so I can get a start on the next month! Staying in for dinner and a movie sounds like a great idea for tonight!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and good luck to the testers!

Calyx · 13/11/2009 22:30

Finished my tidying and done all my washing (last load in at the moment) so only cleaning and hoovering to do this weekend. I'm goooooood

EmsieRo what movie did you watch? I love snuggling up on the sofa with a film but this weekend I'm looking forward to finishing my Dan Simmons book ('The Terror'). I hope yours and Sevans faint lines are pre- 'big enormous solid can't miss from ten miles' lines on the next tests!

Thanks Blueberrynoo, I'm feeling fine about it, more so because I didn't manage to stop the cigs this month (nearly did though - I'll be off them before two weeks have passed I'm CERTAIN) and the guilt would have been horrible if I had turned out to be pg. Even though my mum smoked the whole way through hers with me and my twin sis with no problems or complications and we're both completely healthy (and my twin has a gorgeous nearly 4 year old girl!) I still want to be clean of the horrible filthy poisonous things when I manage to conceive (note the when and not if! positive thinking etc etc). Mum stopped smoking this year though yippeeee!

Re: mid cycle bleeding, I got it quite often when I was still on the pill but not since TCC yet.

Gosh it's nearly half past ten. Where does the time go? I'm going to settle down for a while with my book.

Thanks again everyone for the lovely messages xx

Calyx · 13/11/2009 22:35

Kkas forgot to say thanks for updating me on the list! Usual cycle is correct, think I just ov'd late this month so will leave it at that for now. I'm sorry to hear about your migrane after just one glass of wine are you feeling better now? Maybe it is a sign that there's something exciting happening xx

EmsieRo, I'm sorry you are still playing the waiting game. I tested this morning with my last dollar store cheapie and again got a very, very, very, faint line within the 10 minutes. I am going to test tomorrow morning with First Response or whatever brand I pick up from the store today. Try to hang in there even though it is impossible!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
