Onwards for more BFP's!!

Hi guys - okay if I join?

I am TTC#1 cycle 1, AF due in 4 days. I have been waiting to test but broke my nerve today . It was a BFN but AF not due till Sunday so a little premature me thinks BUT had cramping like Af on Mon which stopped early evening and no appearance of AF, my boobs 'feel' different and tiny bit sore, and have had slightly nauseus feeling most of day yesterday and today.
Really hoping that they are symptoms of something good!
Now am wondering when to test again - know I should wait till Sunday but have a first response at home and know I could test earlier with that - am very tempted. It's quite addictive this poas!!

vix206 · 11/11/2009 16:53

hamsterlover I know, it is addictive. I'm not due on until 17th and I have already taken a test!!! Even though I knew it would be way too early, it is just so tempting. Its my first time around as well so I know it would be really lucky to conceive straight away but I do have a lot of symptoms. I'm driving myself (and DH) mental to be honest!

aly323 · 11/11/2009 17:45

Curly!!!! Yay!!! Congratulations! I'm so happy for you (about the bfp, not so much about the nasty rash). Please don't forget us, check in and let us know how things are from time to time.

Sevans, I hope you get to see that line again soon. Lord knows, after that wait you had to get started, you deserve it!

I'm back to cd1 it seems. very upset as me lp has steadily shortened each month. 8 days this month. My GP referred me to the fertility doc, but I have to take me other half with me, and his insurance won't kick in until late January. I'm going to call to see if I can try to get progesterone tests, and I guess I'll just start taking a B complex. I'm updating the lists, but changing my UCL, since it seems to change just as much as my lp now.

Aly, I'm really sorry for you. Still, it's only cycle four now, isn't it? Maybe just need to relax for the next week or so and try and put it out of your mind? Then get going again and hope for a December BFP... Now how good a Christmas present would THAT be?! [hugs]

Hamsterlover, welcome! I was going to add you onto the list there - you're TTC#1 (like the rest of us) and you're on cycle 1 of trying, but I don't know your UCL (usual cycle length) or which day of your cycle you're on, counting day 1 as the first day of your last period..?

Hello everyone...Can I join in? I'm at the far end of 37, he's 42 and we've been ttc for 5 cycles. Came off the pill in May and my June to Sept cycles were 25/26 days. We BD'd for a week solid this month, think I ov'd day 19 (usually day 14 but no real temp dip till 19) and was due AF day 26 but am now on day 33 with no sign.

I'm feeling completely nothing, no sore boobs, no cramps, not even spotting/pink but white creamy (sorry if TMI). Do I test yet? Am I on a long cycle (late ov)? Argghhhhhh! I've never done a test before and I'm scared! How long should I wait?

CurlyCasper · 11/11/2009 19:52

Thanks aly sevans a test I did yesterday evening had a faint line hours later when I went to bed. No other tests I have ever done did. That's why I tested again this morning, despite what felt like AF cramps. Hope you're in the same boat!

NovemberAli · 11/11/2009 20:39

Congratulations Curly! It is good to hear about people's successes.
Can't believe how this 2WW is dragging for me,I'm just so impatient! Going to start temping next month when (if ) AF arrives, anybody have any good tips? Do you always measure at same time of day?

sevans · 11/11/2009 21:06

Really, Curly? Oh my, I think I may just have to test tomorrow instead of waiting until Friday!

NovemberAli, yes you should temp at the same time everyday. This works well for me because I get up at 7AM Mon-Fri and DH is an early riser on the weekend so he comes in and wakes me up to temp at 7AM on Sat/Sun and I usually go back to sleep afterwards. I really like temping because it tells you so much. Good luck!

Welcome Calyx! I can't believe you have held out for so long without a test! Many women find out they are pregnant with no symptoms so don't worry about that part. You asked how long we think you should wait. You are 7 days late so I think you should test soon! Good luck!! I've updated the list for you. Please let me know if I did it incorrectly. Wow, I just realized we are on the same cycle day, 33! I ovulated on day 18 and you 19 so we are very close. I don't have a clue when to expect AF. I am doing a test tomorrow or Friday.

Good luck to Calyx if you're testing!

I'm a little concerned and feel the need to share, so please excuse me if this is TMI!! I detected LH surge on CD14 and felt ov cramps the same evening. We BD on days 12 & 14 (but not afterwards as DP was away on business!) Since CD17 I have had spots of blood within creamy/pinky discharge on the tissue following toilet visits. This lasted on and off for a few days; it then became dark red/brown from CD22 and has been like this on and off since. AF is not due until next Thursday.

I've not felt any symptoms of AF, which I usually would a few days before it's due.

Can anyone suggest what this may be?

Again, sorry if this was TMI!

Calyx · 11/11/2009 22:06

Thanks Sevans it's great to be on the list, yes all numbers are correct ta. I hope you test BFP tomorrow or Friday!

Congratulations Curly on yours, woooo it is exciting! Lots and lots of luck

Hi Whiteroses wave wave thanks again for pointing me here!

Novemberali, I think definitely same time daily for temps, a book I have says before getting outta bed (even for the toilet!) and you have to have slept at least 3 hours prior to waking and taking temp. I do it 6.45am (and later in the day can't even clearly remember temping/noting it down so it's autopilot!). It's brilliant to see a chart with recognisable dips and ups overthe cycle, it's my only consolation when AF comes... new chart!! (...er, sad, yes!)

Blueberry, I don't know but maybe implantation bleed? Here's hoping so anyway!

I'll have to buy a test if nothing by Saturday. Oooooh! Will let you know what happens. Any specific make of test better or just the first one I see in Boots?

Ladyemmalou83 · 11/11/2009 22:22

Hiya, thought Id pop in and say hi. Congratulations Spirael and Curly, fantastic news.

Well I said Id keep you up to date on how I was doing. After what has been a terrible 4 weeks, Ive finally made it to my booking in appointment, which is 2moro. DH went to Spain just over 3 weeks ago, and whilst he was away I was admitted to hospital with a suspected eptopic pregnancy - total nightmare. All seems to be ok now (well apart from the morning [all day] sickness).

Seveans good luck with the test, hope you get a lovely BFP.

Calyx I used Superdrugs own brand test, the measure from 10 whatever it is onwards. I got my BFP on them about 3 days before I was due, and they are so much cheaper than any of the big name brands. Boots tests are good but not so sensative. Good luck with ur testing.

Miss you all, and hope to see more of u all soon

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 11/11/2009 22:22

Hi all new arrivals.

Blueberry sounds to me like it might be an implantation bleed. I think there's certainly enough signs there to be hopeful.

Ozziegirly · 11/11/2009 22:23

Curly that is such fantastic news! I am so thrilled for you, congratulations.

And welcome new newbies since my last post as well.

Good luck to anyone coming up to test. I'm going to try to hold out until Sunday at least, but it is tempting to test now. Although, as per my normal cycles, I am symptom free.

blueberrynoo · 12/11/2009 07:44

Thanks for your posts Calyx and YorkshireTeaDrinker and for the positive vibes! I can't help thinking that I may have had too much of it for it to be implantation bleed. Although I normally have regular cycles I've had episodes of mid cycle bleeding before, which led to the discovery of 2 fibroids. I had a myomectomy to remove them in March and periods have been fine since April, but we couldn't start TTC until at least 6 months after the op.

I've missed out on a year of TTC (had to take Prostap this time last year for 3 months to reduce the size of the fibroids before the op - Prostap brings on a false menopause !!) so I'm hoping that it's not some weird mid cycle bleed again, which could turn out to be some other abnormality.

Will keep hoping though until AF comes along...

Good luck to everyone!

blueberrynoo · 12/11/2009 07:59

Sorry, probably didn't make myself clear - my episodes of mid cylce bleeding occurred last Oct and Nov when we started TTCing and then got rudely interrupted by the fibroids!

WhiteRoses · 12/11/2009 08:16

Sevans, Really hopeful that that second line was a sign of what's to come - good luck!

Emsie - I admire your self control!

And Calyx - welcome! Glad to see you found the thread. But my goodness, HOW have you restrained yourself up till now?! I'd have been testing at least ten days ago if I were you!

I'm not the best person to be giving advice but after reading up, people seemed of the opinion that either First Response or Superdrug tests were pretty sensitive, and that Clearblue Digital were pretty good at giving extra confirmation if your second line on FR or S wasn't as dark as you might have liked it to be... Anyone else can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong! (P.S. A couple of weeks ago, Boots had FR on BOGOF and Superdrug also had theirs at 2 for £x.) Good luck!

November - I'm still in the mad BDing stage but dreading next week when I'll be starting the wait! Following on from my experiences last month, I've lined up loads of overtime over those two weeks, just to try and keep my mind off it!

Blueberry - sorry I can't be any help. That's strange that the (sort of bleeding) has lasted so long... Here's hoping it's a good sign though, eh? Yet again, wishing they'd hurry up and invent that little screen that Spireal described!

Ladyemmalou - never "met" but glad to hear that everything's going okay again now. Congratulations.

Ozzie - good luck to you too, whether you're testing or trying to hold out!

All very exciting though!

I've updated the list, hope I'm not posting it right after someone else again this time!

Morning all,

AF started this morning

I'm actually not that sad about it, as it means a few things, and I have some happy news. DP and I have decided to get married!

We were going to see if this was the month, and if not, take a few cycles break, and have the wedding next summer late July/early August.

I am going to take myself off the list, as we've decided to put TTC on hold until after Christmas (which means I might end up being pg on my wedding, but I'm ok with that), but I'll definitely still be around and seeing how you're all doing.

Fingers firmly crossed for everyone!

xxxx

Hi Immat,

Congratulations! Sorry to hear about AF but good to hear that you're not too upset.

So... Have you got a ring yet?!

CurlyCasper · 12/11/2009 09:48

Congrats on the marriage plans immat and good luck!

kkas · 12/11/2009 10:49

lady sorry to hear about the drama over the past few weeks, but really glad that things are settling down. [passes the ginger bics for the morning/all day sickness] thanks for keeping us updated - we're all thinking about you!

immaterial congrats on the engagement! wonderful news. we'll miss you around here so please do pop in from time to time

curly how's the rash doing? hope the meds are helping. feeling pg yet?

welcome to all of the new newbies! starting to get tough keeping up with everyone but it's good to have an active thread and so much support

well FF confirmed today that i did ov on monday, which is what i thought. so yay! this is really the first month that i think we got the timings right with a good sesh of BD. and i am already starting to feel the progesterone changes post-ov (i.e. heavy boobs etc) so i think this is going to be a long TWW!

CurlyCasper · 12/11/2009 11:03

ozzie forgot to say thanks earlier. Hope you'll be joining us soon!

kkas Just glad to be on meds for the rash now. But my nipples are seriously itchy anyway!!!!! Cramps after going to loo keep sending me in to momentary worry, but otherwise I'm ok. Not feeling particularly pregnant, but of course, unable to think about much else!

This month was the first when i knew I had the timings right, so here's hoping for you!

pixiestix · 12/11/2009 13:10

Congrats on the wedding plans Imma - thats a pretty good silver lining to getting AF! We will miss you on here until you start TTC again

LadyEm - glad to hear that everything is going well for you after such a rough ride

To all you would-be testers - I can't believe your will-power!!! Test, test!! And then report back ASAP!

sevans · 12/11/2009 15:00

Congratulations on the engagement Imma! That is great news. Definitely keep in touch with us!

Yay kkas on getting the timing right! Hope your TWW goes by quickly!

hamsterlover · 12/11/2009 15:31

Hi Whiterose - thanks for explaining!
My UCL is 34 and i am on CD 32 - didn't know what UCL and CD meant so ignored them .
vix it is defo addictive - went home yesterday and did another test, of course it was a BFN. Why did I think it would be any different.
Anyway, have decided today that I am defo not pregnant, and am just being silly and imagining things! This seemed to have helped me not poas so far today, and hopefully I can hold out another couple of days and won't be too disapointed if it is a BFN.
