Hello everyone

I haven't posted properly for a long time, things have been rather hectic for us of late and I've been doing some serious thinking. There have been a couple of incidents this month that have knocked me emotionally and I've been contemplating my readiness for motherhood because of it. I've decided to put the TTC plans on hold until at least the New Year and take stock of things then.

My DH is ok about this, although I did read a little disappointment from him. He does understand that with my history (health wise) it is important for me to be in the best possible place while we are TTC.

That's it really, I'm ok, just a little shaken by recent events.

I'd like to remain on the list, if ok. I haven't decided whether to go back on the pill or not yet, think I'll keep off of it through to the New Year, then see how things are generally.

Congratulations fulham on the engagement

Good luck everyone over the next few months, I'll pop back to check up on you and to keep track of my cycle day!

zippys · 26/10/2009 13:45

Firstly so sorry to hear the witch has got you kkas and pixie, I just hope it is not a bad one

claire I am sorry to hear that you are having a hard time at the moment, I hope things improve. I have to admit I have been surprised at how stressful I have fouhd TTC and I knew from the beginning I may struggle! I for one would love you to stay on the list and pop your head in every now and again. If you want a chat (non TTC and TTC related) you know where we are. If I were you I would stay off the pill (even if you decided to use other methods) then when you are ready again in the New Year then at least your body wont have to get rid of all the crap from the pill.

sevans · 26/10/2009 16:26

Claire I am sorry to hear what you are going through. I also think it may be a good idea in the meantime to stay off the pill. I hope the best for you and that everything turns out just fine. I would also love for you to stay on the list and pop in from time to time.

Sorry kkas and pixie about AF. That really was a short cycle kkas!

I don't know what is going on with me. Hopefully I will ovulate soon! My temps haven't risen, in fact, they fell way down yesterday and today.

CurlyCasper · 26/10/2009 17:28

Hey claire Sorry things have been tough - but it is good to hear from you . Looking to a positive note, I think it's good that you are able to stand back and see what's best for you rather than get carried off downstream in this TTC torrent. I really hope you feel "in the right place" soon. Please remember that we're always here to listen - baby talk or not. Take care hun - glad you'll be popping in. x

Ozziegirly · 26/10/2009 22:58

Claire sorry to hear that you've been having a tough time of things. I second popping on now and then, but also it seems very sensible not to press ahead with TTC unless you truly feel ready.

No news from me. Just drinking grapefruit juice, taking evening primrose oil and getting ready for the bonkathon which starts in a couple of days.

claireinthecommunity · 27/10/2009 00:08

Thank you everyone for the messages of support

AF should be with me in the next few days, there's no chance of a PG as we haven't had any action this month. It's been interesting going through a whole cycle knowing I can't possibly be PG, but experiencing all of those symptoms anyway!! When we do eventually start TTC again I shall probably forget what a normal cycle is like and completely obsess all over again!!

lay82 · 27/10/2009 10:49

Hi all,

I am getting myself all confused (it does not take a lot TBH)

My husband works abroad lots sometimes two weeks a month. We are currently TTC #1 we use an ovulation calculator as my AF as gone back into a 26 day cycle after coming off the pill. Is this the right thing to do; we do 'the deed' on or as close to the days it says? I know this is not an exact sicence.

I am reading so much from differnt sources that I am confusing myself!

xx

kkas · 27/10/2009 11:41

Hi pixie sorry to hear about AF - I have updated you on the list and am glad to have a cycle buddy! Hope you're enjoying the brie and red wine as much as I am!

claire we are so glad you are still popping in to say hi! hope you start feeling better soon.

sevans i know! really weird. but am now over the shock and am actually looking at it positively as i totally skipped the TWW and can soon start BDing again (although of course that brings drama of its own). if anything, it has made me realise there is really no exact science to timings, so we should not be pressuring ourselves to DTD at any certain time. it obviously does not work like that for us, so i'll just really try to take it easy, have a few good BDs each weekend (which seems to be best for us), and eventually one should stick! but please remind me of these words of wisdom in a few weeks when TWW comes round again

welcome lay let us know your stats and i'll add you to our list! as for your questions, i am no expert. temping and opks may help in pinpointing ov (along with timing and checking CM). but i have found that the more stress i put on us to get the timing of BD right, the more likely it pressures DH to perform, which puts him off. for this cycle, i am promising to subscribe to the non-neurotic let's just enjoy sex attitude and will wait to see what happens (although i am still temping as i am still not sure what is going on with my wacky cycle!) we are glad to have you along for this rollercoaster of a ride though and feel free to ask any more questions!

Been a bit quiet on here...

How are you all? I'm seeing the doctor for a "do my ovaries work?" whinge today.

fulhamgirl · 28/10/2009 14:01

Hi guys.

I think its been a funny kinda end of the month really no one seems to be very sociable at the minute. I think with winter kicking in nobody can be bothered to do anything (esp me ).

I know the nights getting darker now is horrible I hate it.

Thanks for all the messages of congrates guys we have set the date for 27th August 2011 to let the baby settle in. Even though I would love to get married asap now really.

claire - Im so sorry to hear about whats been going on I think its so sensible though what youve said and are doing. Sometimes people carry in TTC when they know they are not ready and the relationship ends up breaking down in some way so its good youve noticed this and took some time out for you!! But at least at xmas u can enjoy the lovely chesse boared and get jolly !! If our concieve then in Jan or feb u get next xmas as well to be jolly youve timed it right.

curly I didnt relise hun u had problems with your ovaries ive not been on here in a while im really sorry to hear that!! When did you notice? It cant be easy I cant really imagine what your going through but on the plus side at least you can get professional help with it now and on the road to TTC again like sevens.

Haha ozzie good luck on your bonkathon I love that sayin lol!!!

kks - Sorry to hear bout AF with pixie at least you can enjoy tbe brie and wine!! I know sounds silly but u miss all the things u take for granted when u are preggers like prawn cocktails and fish food really miss it and the wine!!
How are u feeling other than that hun? Hows the work going?

Sooooo not looking forward to winter!! !! Bring on the broomsticks .

xxxxxxxx

zippys · 28/10/2009 14:43

Hello, I am still here, just had a busy day yesterday. Not too much to report at the moment, AF gone but dont think I will be fertile yet. DP wanted sex last night but I had lost my sex drive totally last night. Will really make an effort tonight, dont want him to think I only want him for his sperm
The we will be in bonkathon time like ozzie Curly I hope everything goes ok at the doctors, at least you can start getting things moving if any tests are needed.

kkas I am glad you are feeling more positive, you hear of so many people that conceive when they relax so I think you are doing the right thing - although so much easier said than done

So exciting to have set a date fulham I hope to be like you soon, we have talked in detail about getting married but he hasnt popped the question yet. Would love to think in a month or so I could be pregnant and engaged!!

Well I am still trying to get on with other things in my life - I weighed myself the other day and have put on 2 1/2 stones in 12 months but now doing something about it- I have lost half a stone so far but this is when things get hard. But maybe if I concentrate on losing weight I could get pregant without obsessing (remind me of this in my next tww!!)

lay hello - I would use the ovulation calculator as a guide but try to go by CM and for me personally how horny I am feeling. I think the general advie is to have sex every other day from around day 9 to day 16 of your cycle then you should hit ovulation- good luck, and remember to have fun trying

sevans · 28/10/2009 16:43

Wow, it has been pretty quiet here. Thanks kkas for updating the list these two days and I will try to remind you of your words of wisdom if you happen to be flipping out during your 2ww!

Good luck at the doctor curly, I hope everything goes OK.

Congrats on setting a date fulham--that is so exciting! Baby and a wedding, so fun!

Zippy, I know what you mean about not wanting DH to think you only want him for his sperm. My poor DH has made that comment quite a few times. How selfish of me!

Sooo...I think I may have ovulated yesterday. I really, really don't want to get my hopes up and I really shouldn't be typing this but I am excited. I had a big rise in temp today and I had weird pressure/cramping where my ovaries are all day Monday. I hope my temp stays up tomorrow and the days after. I got to the doctor on Monday to do my blood work to see if I ovulated. Please, please, please let me ovulate! The only bad thing is DH and I didn't BD last night. I'm kicking myself now because what if it really was ovulation day and we missed it! We did BD Friday, Sunday, and Monday so hopefully that will be enough.

xoxo

CurlyCasper · 28/10/2009 17:20

wooo hooo sevans. I'm actually jealous of your temp rise! Glad to hear it looks like things are getting on track for you. Think BD on Sunday and Monday would have been just fine

ful Congats on setting a date!
I don;t know yet if there are any problems - but in five months I have failed to detect ovulation through any means, have had v irregular cycles, v light, short periods, gained weight quickly, got worse acne and so on and so forth. That's plenty to make docs do blood tests for PCOS - which is what she's ordered. then we'll take it from there.

zips they love being used really

Thanks for being a positive stats bunny kkas Rolling a nice bottle of vino your way.

Ozziegirly · 28/10/2009 23:44

Morning all,

Nothing to report really - have entered the bonkathon days which is nice...

Would be good if it happens this month as next month I am on holiday with my parents - so unlikely that it will happen then!

The weather has turned lovely here as well (sorry), which is good after weeks of rain and cloud.

zippys · 29/10/2009 08:16

Morning all,

Sevans congrats on the ovulations - never thought I would be saying that to someone before these boards I am so pleased for you. Fingers crossed it is ovulation. I am sure that days you have had sex should still catch it.

Curly let us know how you get on with your tests, will you get the results quickly?

Ozzie glad you are enjoying your bonkathon days - I am just about to enter mine soon , lets hope this is the month for you. The weather is actually not to bad here, really warm for this time of the year, but it is really dark early on am evening which is not good for gym motivation!

God luck for anyone coming up to testing x

CurlyCasper · 29/10/2009 08:29

Morning zips and the rest of you

I will go for the tests tomorrow and should get results early next week. But in the meantime I've had positive progress - plenty of CM and then my first noticeable temp spike this morning (I feel like a big girl now)! And we did have sex last night so you never know....

Hope you're enjoying your fun in the sun ozzie

Ozziegirly · 29/10/2009 09:00

oo, Curly well that certainly sounds like you timed it right!

I haven't really noticed any ov symptoms apart from raunchy dreams again...no complaints there.

sevans · 29/10/2009 14:00

Oh Curly, you got your temp rise too! See, nothing to be jealous about! My temp was up again this morning, woohoo!!!

CurlyCasper · 29/10/2009 15:52

sevans, lets hope it stays up!

ozzie wish my dreams were rauncy - they are plain freaky at the mo!

Ozziegirly · 30/10/2009 06:23

Well I noticed EWCM this morning, so I may try to have sex again tonight, although we only did it yesterday.

I don't want to wear DH out, but equally I want to make the most of the EWCM.

Do you happen to know the time frame from having EWCM to ovulating?

CurlyCasper · 30/10/2009 07:02

oz different women have ewcm for different lengths of time, however your last day of EWCM is deemed your most fertile day. EWCM ceases when you have ovulated. (all in theory of course!)

Only one day of temp spike here . plummeted again this morning...

ImmaterialGirl · 30/10/2009 08:06

Moring all,

I've been away for ages! Guess it's good to have a MN break now and then.
Been busy with the mid-month shagathon, think I may have ov'd yesterday but will get one more in today just to be sure

fulham Congratulations! That's so exciting!! I'm really happy for you, hope you start feeling a bit better soon too! They say the first three months are the worst.

Claire sorry to hear you've been pondering and having a tough time, hope you get everything sorted out soon. We'll be here!

And to those who were caught by AF. It's really hard sometimes. Hope you're all doing ok!

sevans how exciting about the temp rise! It must be so great that everything is coming together and starting to work...

curly they say one random temp is not enough to know what's going on so could still go either way I guess...

ozzie think it can be anything up to 48 hours from EWCM to ov? Get bonking!

OP posts:
zippys · 30/10/2009 08:37

Hi everyone,

I have woken up feeling full of cold so not the the greatest start to my bonkathon, but will have to battle on!

Curly not too sure about temping I am afraid so cant add much - sorry

Ozzie I do hope you have been putting the EWCM to good use

Glad to hear you have been having fun while not on here imma Its amazing how you feel pulled back as you get towards the 2ww

Looks like there are quite a few people coming up to the end of the 2ww - good luck xx
