Hi all,

Really sympathising with you at the mo kkas. I'm in the middle of what should have been peak BD time, but our bedroom has been a hive of inactivity! I was expecting to ovualte about nowish, but according to fertility friend, I ovulated on CD10. we'd done nothing since CD6 cos I was saving myself for the big push during my expected peak (i.e. this week). Not that there is any chance of that as DH has man flu and distinctly unamourous at the moment! So I think we've missed the suspected early fertile window owing to me misreading the signs and and are now missing the expected fertile window cos DH is out of action. So no chance of a BFP this month. Grrr. It was a lot easier when I didn't know and we just shagged when we felt like it!!

Anyway, I hope you guys have better luck with the BDing and testing. At least knowing I've no chance this month should make this 2ww less of a rollercoaster. [resigned emoticon]

spookypixiebroomstix · 21/10/2009 15:59

Ohhhhhhhhh, I want a baby, why is this so hard???!!!!!!!!!!

Trying4Baby1 · 21/10/2009 20:48

Hi to everyone TTC. Glad to see there's more BFPs! I'm sure there'll be some more before long. Yorkshire I know loads of people use various methods to work out when they ovulate but I found that having sex every few days can sometimes have less pressure. I must have ovulated early going by my dates.

Spooky I know it's easier said than done but try not to get too stressed about it as it really doesn't help! I know quite a few people who had to wait a while for it to happen, but it DID happen!

Hiya blue turns out I'm nearly a week further on than we first though so I'm now 13+3. Had my scan again last night and went a lot better. Baby was a lot calmer and got proper measurments and pics taken this time. It was really strange we could actually see it flexing it's legs and holding it's hands up to it's face. Got bloods in a couple of weeks as they don't do nuccal fold at my hospital and we can't afford to pay for it to get done. Still doesn't feel real at times but now we're telling people so we can allow ourselves to get excited as we couldn't really before anyone knew.

fulhamgirl · 22/10/2009 10:32

Morning girls.

Oh I love these halloween smiles .

kkas · 22/10/2009 13:55

yorkshire thanks for your understanding. I totally know how you feel too. Just had some pinkish brown spotting this morning, which I take to mean I prob did OV yesterday (FF has now gone into dotted lines which I think means the signs are contradicting). So last Friday's BD seems very far off now. But I did promise not to initiate a BD this month, so will leave it up to DH whether we do it tonight. When I saw those spots, it was almost like seeing AF because I knew I was missing a chance this week. So hard not to get disappointed, and also really hard not to blame DH. But I am really trying to keep perspective about it - more important for our relationship to be strong going into this, for him to feel safe and get his confidence back. I am sure it will eventually happen. Just want it to happen now!

trying great to hear how your scan went and that you can finally tell your friends and family. so pleased for you. you were the first person i met on MN who got a bfp, so am anxiously following your updates as they really help to keep me thinking positive . keep em coming!

fotheringhay · 22/10/2009 20:17

Hi again from your sporadically-posting friend.

Not good news from me - I'm in exactly the same boat as Ozziegirly. AF arrived on Sunday, so I'm on cycle day 4 now.

It came earlier than usual for me, which I really wasn't expecting as I've been feeling stressed and that would normally delay it. So I thought it was an implantation bleed to start with.

DH is now away for the rest of the year, so that's it for a while. I'm getting a bit worried because I'm 34 this month... I wouldn't mind waiting if I knew for sure it will happen one day.

I just wish we'd felt brave enough to have a baby sooner.

And whatsmore, I've been looking forward to a glass of wine all day only to find DH has polished it off! (don't mind that much emoticon)

rollerbaby · 22/10/2009 20:45

Hi guys... As I'm only on month 1 and therefore fairly clueless I am wondering why on days 18/19 I am getting what felt like mittelschmerz, followed today by fairly persistent low down cramps/stitch like pains.

I've been trying to keep track of my CM and it has definitely been more wet over the last 5 days but not noticeably more one day over the other.

Isn't it a bit late to be ovulating now (esp if cycle's between 28-30 days usually)? Could this be a sign or is it a bit early?

Answers on a postcard please!!

fotheringhay · 22/10/2009 20:56

Sorry honeymoo I can't help you there.

It just occurred to me, I guess I need to be taken off the list now. Really good luck to everyone.

x

sevans · 22/10/2009 23:19

Hi ladies! I have been keeping up with all of posts in this thread but haven't posted anything lately because I really haven't had much to say. I'm sorry Ozzie, Zippys, and fotheringhay that AF came. She is such a witch, isn't she! And I'm really sorry fotheringhay that you aren't able to try for the rest of the year. I really hope you have great luck at the beginning of next year! I hope you have found some more wine and maybe some chocolate to maybe help you feel better today.

OK--lots of babydust to you all!!!

bluesnowfalcon · 23/10/2009 07:02

I had my first doctors appointment last night - it was all very low key just told me to take a FMU sample in this morning and a midwife would contact me soon. Anyone elses experience like this?

Kinda thought they'd make sure there and then that I really am pregnant but then did ask about LMP and did dates said i'm 6 weeks and asked about symptoms - tired, faint sickness and reallllllly sore boobs!

Guess I'll just have to wait for midwife to ring me but he said that'll be anytime between next week and 10 weeks so I guess I just try hard to put my feet up now and then and hope all stays good

Finding it really hard to stay positive on here so might not post for a while but I'll check in next week

fulhamgirl · 23/10/2009 09:02

blue - Hey hun yea I experienced the same to be honest with you. Still am really until you hit 13 weeks its quite quiet.
My doctor didnt give me a preggers test either he checked my hcg levels with a stick that was it no questions asked. It was me who called the midwife last week as my doctor forgot to inform her as well. So it is normal I think they just want you to chill out and relax for the first trimester as you get sick and so tired.
As hard as it is in the begining with the sickness (im really suffering) just enjoy it hun.
I had to have an emergency scan done on Monday as I was getting such bad pains and I see my baby on Monday it came up I was 8 weeks 1 day preggers so I will be 8 weeks 5 days today and still not heared from the midwife etc.
U have to stay positive tho and we are all here to help eachother out.

fother - im so sorry AF hit. I cant believe DH took the wine as well lol. What does he work as? 34 is so young still yo have plenty of time. My OH friends wife is 38.

hon - Heya im not really any good at that kind of stuff lol. I noticed around that time as well 18/19 of my cycle I was getting alot of MC very water like and then 7 days later I found out I was pregnant so im not to sure if youve ovualted later or its just a symptom if you see what I mean sorry !!

kks - sorry hun ive just read your posts. It happens to my OH as well normally if he is really tired or nervous or drunk .
Have you tried to build up to it like a few glasses of wine nice dinner bath together? I always find massage oils work well.
Has he been stressed out with work at all? That can play a big part in it as well. There are so many reason's it can happen at first when it happened to me I was so so upset but I got used to it now if he has had a stressful day at work on been out with the lads. Sorry for TMI here but when he comes back from the pub he is the most agravating person ever to have sex when I give in at 2 in the morning {hangry] he loses it all the time which makes me every more {hangry] lol.
Friday night tonight maybe get a nice take a way, film and you never know it might not be to late u might still be in your peak time.
Good luck huni and your not the only one in that boat trust me. It happens to all of us at some point.

On a more positive not guys I have some good news to try and lighten the mood a little last Friday my BF became my Fiance !!
He proposed on my birthday. So we have set the date for 27th August 2011. Hopefully it will keep away its tradition of raining in August.

Anybody got any plans for the weekend? Happy friday guys !!

kkas · 23/10/2009 09:24

morning all

fotheringhay so sorry to hear about your news. I have removed you from the list as per your request. But please feel free to stop buy and check in. we'll be thinking about you!

fulham sorry to hear you are so sick. but at least it's good news as i hear MS may correspond to the intelligence of the baby so just keep your chin up and think how much it will be worth it in the end!

and congrats on your engagement!!!! so so happy for you. we got married in august too and it was nice and sunny, so i bet it will be a lovely day.

also - thanks for all your kind words. it's good to know that we're not the only ones. yes, i think it is mostly down to the stress of DH's job (at least that is what he tells me). so we are kinda taking a break and i'm really trying not to pressure him.

huge brown spot in my knickers this morning. think it must have something to do with OV as it should have been wed/thurs. but it was almost enough for me to think it was the start of AF, which is really confusing as i thought i had AF 2 weeks ago (although it was really light). will wait and see if it goes away tomorrow and then might POAS tomorrow morning just to check if the bleed 2 weeks ago maybe was an IB? probably not, but any excuse eh? although, i must admit i don't think i feel pg and it probably does just have to do with ov i suppose. will keep you guys posted!

Hello all - would be great to be added to your list.

I'm still getting persistent low down cramps and today had lots of EWCM I think. But it's CD20 so it does seem really late to be ovulating! We haven't done much BDing this week as a result of thinking it was last week.

All very confusing when you've been on the pill for years. Does anyone else have several days of ovulation cramps?

Can't believe what a wet and miserable day it is today. And to make it even worse, I've got to go to the hygenist later today. Ouch.

Happy Saturday to you all!

kkas · 24/10/2009 15:05

Welcome honeymoo! I've added you to the list with CD only (and assume you're TTC#1 but you're still welcome if not!) Let us know your cycle # and usual cycle length and I will add those too

It is miserable, isn't it? At least not too cold though. Very halloweenish though, I must admit

Not sure the answer to your ov questions. Are you temping? If so, have you noticed the shift yet? If not, I would give it a go this weekend so you've covered your bases!

I've been having ov pains for the past few days too, along with some brownish spotting. My temps have been a bit erratic and today FF said I could have ov between Days 4 and 11 (so maybe what i thought was ov spotting could have been an IB?!) Yesterday I said I would poas this morning, but when it came down to it, I chickened out. Just hate the disappointment. But then I've had more spotting today so I really don't know what is going on. Will give it a few more days I suppose.

Hello everyone! Just checking in. I was hoping there would be some BFP's but it seems that some people are showing amazing self-control in waiting to test. I don't know how you do it!

I've been very excited about this month. We got to BDing right on time and were looking good, the I didn't Ov on time again. I was all set to go (my pimple appeared, opk's started changing) then nothing. On the day before my usual ov, I did have a stressful day- buying a car, signing loan docs, dealing with an attempted murder case that has gone crazy, drama in the courthouse- and I'm sick. I'm guessing my body just changed its mind. I can't believe that this would happen two months in a row! Last month was my dog. It took another 20 days before I Ov'd. Needless to say, I'm a little bummed. It's bad enough to only have a 15% chance every cycle, it really sucks when you also get cycles that disappear.

Now, I'm just trying to figure out if there is any chance that I could still ov soon, or if it will be another 20 days. I'm also a little concerned that this might be an ongoing issue for me. Next month I have a murder trial lined up and many, many other smaller difficult cases and clients in between. No chance of my stress going away anytime soon. Funny thing is, once I get p, they'll put me in a cushier, less stressful position.

I guess I'm going to make my appointment with the specialist sooner rather than later.

rollerbaby · 25/10/2009 12:36

Hi Aly, that does sound like quite a month. Do you mind me asking how you know you haven't ov'd? Are you doing temperature taking? I've been using CM as a guide and it would seem that Saturday was the day - but that's really late surely? I think my UCL is about 32 days but as it's only first month off the pill that remains to be seen.

What kind of specialist are you off to see? Surely 3 months is still early days?

I've got a week of shooting (work in advertising) which basically means sitting in a studio on my bum and eating non stop (they tend to feed you well). I think I'm putting on weight in anticipation of becoming pg, which isn't exactly right methinks.

Hope everyone has had an extra long lie in today...

princesscatherine · 25/10/2009 12:43

Hi this is my first time TTC only started 2 weeks ago so would be great to be added to the list!

I just got my implant out of my arm 2 weeks ago and still haven't had my first bleed yet so I'm not sure of my cycle day or normal cycle duration - hopefully this will change and I will hopefully get AF anyday!! Don't know if this is a stupid queston but could I still ovualte even though I havent bled this month?

All I can think about is getting PG its taking over my life, I wake up in the middle of the night and its all I can think about!!

Sorry for the ramblings x

spookypixiebroomstix · 25/10/2009 13:13

Fulham - thats lovely, congratulations! A wedding and a baby to plan for - wow, your life is going to be mad!

No good news from me guys - my cycles have been really reliable at 28 days so this month when day 28 came and went I was getting really excited, kept knicker checking like mad. Managed to hold off yesterday (day 29) but getting really really hopeful, only to test this morning and BFN
So am on day 30, just waiting for AF to hit and totally miserable. Have ordered a CB Monitor online though as a "treat" so next month I will have more of an idea what my stupid body is up tp.
Better luck to all you lovely ladies,
Pixiestix

aly323 · 25/10/2009 17:10

First off, Congratulations Fulham!!! So much change all at once, it's going to be an amazing, wonderful whirlwind!

Spooky keep us updated. Until af shows, there is hope. Any symptoms?

PrincessC Welcome to the insanity!I'm not all that fimiliar with coming off the implant since I went straight to the pill when I had mine removed years ago. If you wanted something to do to keep yourself occupied, you could start temping or use cheap opk's to see if anything happens. Maybe someone else has more info.

honeymoo, yes I've been temping. I 'm actually a HUGE fan of temping. I was religious about it the first month, but now find that in my case it's really most important to just follow around ov and af time. I know where my temps usually are so can just check to see if they're up (around 98.6 after ov) or regular (97.7). If I didn't chart, I would have really, really thought I was pregnant last month and would have missed my chance when I actually did ov on cd40 (not to mention how sad I would have been after getting my hopes up). I also use opk's from the internet which work well for me. This way, since I know I didn't Ov on time, I'll keep poas until the lines come. I use very cheap opk's!!

We've only been officially trying for three cycles, but I came off the pill in May. My first three cycles were 30 days and I ov'd perfectly. I felt so lucky and positive. Now, I'm on 50 day cycles. I'm still positive, especially since I know I Ov and that my hormones are fine, but it's frustrating and disappointing to now have things out of whack. Hopefully it's just been bad luck with the stress and stupid cold and I'll get back on track next month. I also know that 3 cycles isn't long but, I'm very Veruca Salt - I want it NOW!!!

I'm in the US and go to an HMO, so they consider anything outside of your main doctor a "specialist." I'm just going to see an ob/gyn who specializes in fertility. Since I'm 35 almost 36, and now officially "irregular," I can get sent quicker. My regular gyn gave me blood tests (all good) last month and gave me the referral. For me, I would rather go and hear that everything is good and that I visited the specialist too early, than to find out that I could have spotted something and fixed it earlier. But, I'm also able to do this since I have decent insurance- I figure that I may as well use it since I have it!!

Wow. My posts have gotten very long lately. Guess that's because I have a humongous pile of actual work that needs to be done for my trial. What do you want to bet my house gets cleaned today, too. I'm such a good procrastinator...

zippys · 26/10/2009 08:41

Good morning everyone,

Firstly thank you all for your kind words when AF hit me this month, I took it pretty hard, hence not been on here for a few days, however she is now gone and I am back to being happier

Hello to everyone new, I hope thsi board can help you though those tough days.

Congratulations fulham you must feel on top of the moon right now, pregant and now engaged, I am so happy for you. Hope your pains have got better. I bet it was amazing to see your little one on your scan

aly I hope your specialist can shed some light on your cycles, stress can have such an impact yet it is so hard to change anything until you are actually pregnant!!

Pixie as has been said many times before its not over until the witch arrives, I am keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Anyone else coming up to testing, good luck.

Morning -

Well, AF got me last night, despite being only on what I thought was Day 18! Came with the horrid cramps that I remembered from pre-pill days too . Either the bleed I had a couple weeks ago was not AF, or this was like the shortest cycle known to woman! I did think about taking a pg test to see whether maybe it was a CP, but really can't stand the disappointment. Don't want to put myself through the sadness of losing something I never knew I had (and tbh I'm pretty sure I was not pg as did not feel any symptoms). More likely that since it's only been a few months since I've come off the pill, so my cycle has not settled down yet.
