pepperonipizza · 26/09/2009 03:59

Hi all, just popping in and saying hello. Sorry not to see more BFPs, I hope this month is lucky for everyone. I'm keeping a close watch on you all!

Not much to report here, except for a quick doctor's appointment and some blood tests, all fine. I have my 12 week scan booked in too, have to wait until Nov like Fulham..... apart from the sore boobs and tiredness, only other symptom has been constipation, followed by the opposite All part and parcel of early pg apparently!

Anyway, just chipping in and agreeing that if you can hold off on the early testing, it's much better. Even if you do get an early BFP, if you're anything like me you won't quite trust the faint line and you'll just end up having to wait another few days until you get a stronger one and start to believe it!

CurlyCasper · 26/09/2009 08:47

Hello all,

Had a great week off work, with few MN hourse - which is probably healthy.

Glad to hear good reports from the graduates, and sorry to those struggling with heavy, painful periods.

Weirdly, I have been the opposite last couple of cycles - quite light and pain free (though still lasting six/seven days). I always had pretty horrific periods, which were better, but still heavy and very sore, when I was on the pill. These easy, breezy periods make me wonder if I am even ovulating.

Charting wise - I'm all over the place with temps. Probably because I am a restless sleeper. I think I'll pay more attention to CM and cervix position this month and see if that gives away any clues. And we'll be doing it up to and beyond day 20 this month, seeing as I've now had two 35/36-day cycles.

As for testing, having seen two Chemical MCs on here in the last week I really want to just wait next month. I don't think I could handle a BFP followed by a bleed. I cried enough when I came on last Saturday.

Can I echo the call for news from blue please?

claireinthecommunity · 26/09/2009 10:53

Morning everyone

No news from me yet, just waiting to test really and trying to keep myself occupied with other things... Thinking of all the other soon to be testers - fingers x

Morning all,

CJ sorry to hear about af, hope you enjoyed the rugby though!

pepper good to hear from you! Glad you sound well.

claire when are you planning on testing? Fingers crossed!

and curly my periods have been the same, strangely. The first one after coming off pill was agony, actually thought I was going to pass out/throw up, but have gotten better since, the last one I didn't even need a paracetamol According to FF, the clearblue monitor and CM-checking I did ovulate though, so maybe these are just flukes...?

Hello Immaterial, I'm trying to hold out with testing. AF is due either tomorrow or Tuesday and if she is a no show I will test on Wednesday. I really have no idea one way or the other this month.

How are you doing? I see you are CD11, are you getting much action?

CJ sorry to hear AF came for you, hope next month is your month

I wonder how pixie is doing, any news?

zippy and Ozzie I hope your heavy periods have started to ease off a bit now.

I can hear the build up for the Grand Prix (DH is a big fan - I'm not). Think I'll go and get some breakfast and hang out in bed online for a while longer

Ladyemmalou83 · 27/09/2009 13:16

Blimey its only day 16, only half way through my average cycle. I havent even started to 2ww yet, my gosh it already feels like a long month.

I have to admit, I agree, a little break from MN is good for the soul. I've been on here less this month, and I think I havent been as obssessive as normal. On the april and may bus I had been messaging all the time, this month with the june bus I have hardly written. I just havent had the need to, although knowing me, when I know Im in thw 2ww I'll be back to normal....

CJ sorry AF came, fingers crossed its the last one for a long time, as next month you get ur lovely BFP

Good Luck with holding on the testing Claire, fab will power!

fulhamgirl · 27/09/2009 17:00

Heya Girls.

Good luck to everyone bding right now!!

I know how u feel about it being a long month and the 2ww takes forever it feels like a month in itself!!

Well done for not testing early claire. I know it must be so hard well done u for your willpower though!!
Good luck for tuesday or wednesday though im keeping everything crossed for you.

pepper good to hear from you hun!! When is your due date? Im not looking forward to having my blood taken got an appointment on tuesday with the doctor he will prob go through alot more with me then.

Hope youve all had a good weekend and those who have suffered nasty AF are all better now!!

Positive thoughts guys

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 27/09/2009 21:08

Evening all,

I have a small confession to make. Despite knowing it was a pointless exercise, I tested early today (I have a load of cheap tests off ebay - I figured it would be shame not to use them ). Unsurprisingly is was negative. Unsurprisingly I feel like a barren old hag.

I will heed advice and wait until AF is due next time.

Muser · 27/09/2009 22:13

Thought I would say hello here as well. We will be TTC our first in the next month, just getting ready now. Very excited and a bit nervous. It's that thing of not knowing if it will be easy or not. My mum was excessively fertile so I'm hoping it runs in the family!

claireinthecommunity · 27/09/2009 23:20

Hi everyone

Warm welcome to Muser, hope it does run in the family too!!

Oh Yorkshire, it's so tempting isn't it! Lol at "...barren old hag" - I'm sure you're not. I don't have any cheap tests in, in fact, I'm not sure what make the two pack I have in the bathroom is (it might be a clear blue)

I think my resolve to not test early fulham and Ladyemma is part of my defence mechanism this month. Each time I start to imagine I could be PG I quickly tell myself that I'm not - therefore no need to test!. Last month I'd convinced myself I was PG then got AF and was really quite miserable about it, I don't want to feel like that again. We'll soon see...

Ozziegirly · 28/09/2009 02:21

Welcome muser.

Along with some of you, I have decided to lay off the obsessiveness a bit this month (so far). It was quite hard being late last month and then no PG, so I have decided to try to focus on other things.

So no temping or OPKs this month, just lots of bonking.

We're going away this coming weekend as we have a public holiday here, so we're driving along the Great Ocean Road and staying in a nice hotel, which does coincide with CD10-12 for me.....

zippys · 28/09/2009 08:49

Morning everyone,

Welcome muser

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. I have been a bit quiet as trying not to obsess as much this month, but I have been checking up on you all on my phone

Well the horrible AF is now coming to an end, it was only really Thursday and Friday that was really bad. But they were this bad before I went on the pill so it isnt a huge surprise that this one was horrible.

Good luck to all those coming up to testing time, I have my fingers and everything else crossed for you. To those of you like me just coming up to BDing time - enjoy

Ozziegirly · 28/09/2009 08:55

I actually really like this time of the month - early CDs - no pressure to bonk, can drink gallons of tea, eat brie without fear etc.

Not that I feel bonking pressure, but you know what I mean.

You can give a BJ without thinking "what a waste"

kkas · 28/09/2009 11:52

Hi guys

Just checking in to say hi. Nothing to report here - just seem to be on the TWW. If we want to discuss symptoms - I could smell my DH's new coconut-y hair gel when we were walking to the train station today. He said he couldn't even smell it and it was on his head! Boobs are normal though - so no jiggling here....

Hope everyone is keeping well.

Ladyemmalou83 · 28/09/2009 12:57

DH got drunk again last night....grrrrrr! So to make up for it he is taking me to dinner and shopping trip around Exeter. Wohhoooooo! I swear his sperm are going to be swimming backwards!

Day17 means another shag tonight (sorry i come from the school of may bus, where a shag is a shag and not BD). Wondering how long I need to go on with the every other day thing. Might have to give it another week and then have a rest, im pretty sure I will have OV by day 24, well I hope so!

pixiestix · 28/09/2009 13:53

Hi all,
Sorry I have been so quiet - I don't have internet at home so can only MN when sneaking on to the computer at work!
No good news from me I'm afraid. AF arrived one day early on the 26th but not before I had cracked and done two cheapy pregnancy tests on Thur and Fri. So at least I was prepared I supposed, but it was still gutting to know that we are no closer to our baby.
I think this month is going to be the one where I start with the ovulation tests - I need to know that things are at least working the right way down there to keep my hopes up! (I have seen people writing OPK's on here but am not sure what that means - I assume its ovulation sticks?)
So far we have just been using the "shag and hope" approach and its clearly not working at all!!!
Sorry there has been no more BFP's on here for a while.
Claire - I am crossing my fingers that our luck will change with you, and you will have some good news for us all!!

pixiestix · 28/09/2009 13:59

Oops, clicked post too soon!

Ladyemma - keep jumping on that DH, only a week to go and then you can have a (restful) lie down!!!!

Fulham - its so nice to hear about your little bump even if you do think its all water, am hoping that will be the rest of us before too long. Wouldn't it be amazing if what you said was true - about all of us getting pg before Xmas? The best present ever!!

pixiestix · 28/09/2009 14:30

ARRRGGHHHH! Just been reading on the Conception board "Editor's picks" that most ovulation sticks don't work efficiently at all! Loads of people saying that they didn't get a positive on the month when they conceived their LO.
Now I don't know what to do at all!

claireinthecommunity · 28/09/2009 14:33

No news as yet from me, only that I've realized I got my predicted AF dates slightly wrong. I'm CD 29 today so would expect AF either tomorrow or Wednesday, not today or Tuesday as previously thought... Not a great problem, just another days wait! (And I thought I'd done well not testing this morning, when in fact it would have been too early anyway!)

Ozzie your weekend away sounds lovely. I really hope this is the month for you - how wonderful it would be to know that you conceived during a weekend away with your DH

Pixie so sorry to hear about AF getting you, good to hear from you though

Hello to everyone else whether you be dealing with AF, shagging, approaching the 2WW or giving BJs like Ozzie

Muser · 28/09/2009 20:43

Well I went to the family planning clinic today and had my coil taken out. The doctor was very excited when I told her we were planning a baby. Was a bit shocked when she told me if we'd been doing anything over the weekend I could get pregnant straight away! Should have realised that. Now why didn't I make the most of our anniversary weekend? That'll be the booze :0

We're not officially trying until November so it's condoms here. Time for me to take some more folic acid and settle into my cycle. It's all I can do not to go jump on the poor dh now though!

Ladyemmalou83 · 28/09/2009 23:12

So having spent the last hour with my legs in the air, now I have pins and needles in my feet. I feel slightly more happier after todays trip into town. Took DH into Mothercare and he was actually interested, plus he brought me a Pregnancy Journal for when the time does come.

He must really know I wasnt too impressed at him being far too merry. The only down side to my shopping trip was I didnt buy what I expected to: no clothes, just loads of cheapo HPT from poundland, although might have to drag him back on his next day off to do the clothes bit of my shopping trip...

Im pretty convinced I OV'ed today. Lower back ache and temp feels high, so bloody warm. But as I cant guarantee it, I shall have to keep at it for a little while longer.

And who said Wedding cake was the best contraceptive???

Ozziegirly · 29/09/2009 03:09

Good luck ladyemma and at the legs in the air!
