Sorry Imma I will leave alone next time

zippys · 24/09/2009 08:47

I am not using anything as I will just get too obsessed! Just doing the deed lots mid cycle!

Also my friend has also gone on the basis that if she is horny then she is ovulating and I can see the theory in that but need a little more hard facts for me.

I think I will be the other way to you, I will go with the flow now and if it hasnt happened in 4-5 months then start temping etc.

ImmaterialGirl · 24/09/2009 08:53

zippys not at all! Updating is for everyone
Sorry to hear about your AF though

And I think your friend is right, I certainly seem to be a lot more 'in the mood' so to say around the right time...

OP posts:
kkas · 24/09/2009 09:26

I'm not temping or using any opks yet. Just trying to do it a lot midcycle and monitoring the CM/aches and pains/other symptoms. I still have yet to see that elusive EWCM since I've been checking - I know I've seen it in the past, but since I've been off the pill... just normal run of the mill CM. I'm also keeping a diary of each day so I can look back to each cycle and see if anything matches up. Believe me, if anyone read that diary, they would probably feel sick with the amount of detail that goes in there!!!

If I don't fall pg this month, though, I think I will start temping, as I agree it does feel like you're being proactive and I would like to start properly recording cycles to see if I am actually ovulating.

Ozziegirly · 24/09/2009 10:33

I used OPKs last month and will probably again this month. I tried temping but it didn't really work for me as I am a restless sleeper and also tend to get up to go to the loo at about 4 so I didn't get a clear pattern.

Other than that just plenty of bonking around days 9-15 or so.

Oh I also take evening primrose oil which is supposed to help with EWCM and I did actually have some last month for the first time, so that may work.

zippys sorry to hear about your horrid period. Weirdly mine is heavier than normal as well,

zippys · 24/09/2009 12:29

I think I had EWCM last month but not 100% sure, I will have to pick up some evening primrose oil and give that a try.

Kkas make sure you dont loose that diary - you may not want to claim it again

Ozzie I wonder why our periods are heavier, I suffer normally but this is just hideous. TMI alert - so heavy I am worried that it will go through clothes even with changing every hour or so, I can actually feel it pouring out (really sorry TMI). Feel really really tired and cramps still really bad, just want to go home and go to bed

claireinthecommunity · 24/09/2009 12:51

Afternoon all We're getting lovely weather where we are, how about you?

Lovely to hear from you Trying glad the booking in appointment went well and really pleased that you found your midwife lovely

Sorry about the AF Ozzie and zippy hope you are both feeling ok about it, as you put Ozzie at least you aren't in limbo anymore - still for you though.

Welcome to TishTosh and Yorkshire

Immaterial I'm much the same as kkas in my approach, with checking for cm/ewcm and DTD around OV time. I'd thought about starting temping for this current month, but decided to try and be a little more laid back and relaxed... I have managed to not write anything in my diary for this month! We'll see what happens - I may end up upping my game if nothing happens

claireinthecommunity · 24/09/2009 12:57

X-post with zippy, your period sounds horrible (sorry) Mine have been getting heavier each month since I've been off the pill, only consolation being that when an egg decides to bed itself in, it will be nice and comfy in there!

fulhamgirl · 24/09/2009 13:16

ozzie - Im so sorry your having bad time with AF !! I know its not nice at all!!
Just think when its all over it will be happy bding for u again which must make u kinda a little thinking about that!! My periods were extreamly heavy comming off of the pill and I was scared of comming through as well was horrible!!
Nice hot water bottle when u get home and a nice cuppa tea !!

Claire- When are u going to test? Im keeping everything crossed for you.

Imma - I didnt not anything just went with the flow and completly relax about it I know its hard but I focused on something else like the cruise and applied for jobs and then as soon as paid depoist and got Job Interview I got my positive lol so it does help to pre occupied yourself with something else I think the more u temp the more you stress your body out and harder to concieve buts thats just my theory!! Last period I was temping bding everynight and nothing happened as soon as I stopped all that I fell preggers!! U must be bding soon again though?

Heya tishtosh and Yorkshire- good luck guys!!

Heya kkas hows things hun? Are you on your 2ww yet?

Heya zippys- Sorry to hear bout your AF its horrible !!!

Nothing to report really no sickness just sore boobs and very tired!! Im trying not to think about it to much tbh until I get my 12 weeks scan which wont be until November !!

Fingers crossed still for everyone!! I will keep checking on here!! Heres to more BFP's soon

xxxxxxxxxxx

Ladyemmalou83 · 24/09/2009 13:21

Im going for the every other day method as have no clue when OV is, although DH fell asleep again last night, and im on nights tonight, so another lost chance.

Have tryed temping but because my cycles are very irregular its not been much use, plus it doenst work to well with shifts because ur never up at the same time of day.

Now starting to notice the effects of taking daily apirin, had a small glass of wine last night and went straight to my head. Shall certainly not be having any heavy drinking sessions anymore.

TishTosh21 · 24/09/2009 13:32

Hi all, i have a question for anyone. I came off the pill nearly 3 weeks ago and have been TTC since then. My period hasnt come yet but dont know if its too early to test? can any give me advice as to when to test or should i just wait to see if my period comes. Im too impatient to do that tho lol.
Any answers?!

Ladyemmalou83 · 24/09/2009 13:40

I havent been on the pill for years but it took me 4 months to return to 'normal' (if there is such a thing). I wish I known that some women get a little fertility boost when they come off it, I'd have started trying then. I would say if you can hold off for a bit longer it would be better. A BFN can be very dishearting. Personally everytime I see the not pregnant come up I just want to cry.

Do you have many symptoms?

zippys · 24/09/2009 14:00

Thanks for you kind thoughts everyone, I never thought of it like that Claire

Tishtosh I think it also depends which pill you are on, the first bleed is often a withdrawal bleed and then your cycle settles down from there. Personally I came off the pill and from there went into a regular (except this month!) 34/5 day cylcle. I would say hang off for about 4 weeks after coming off (i know its hard.) As Ladyemm says it can be so horrible seeing a BFN (I usually do cry )

Fingers crossed that me relaxing and concentrating on other things will help me concieve like Fulham

claireinthecommunity · 24/09/2009 17:07

fulham, I'm going to wait until at least next Wednesday to test. My cycle length is between 29-30 days which will be Monday and Tuesday, so, if no AF by Weds I'll test then. (Good to hear the sickness has eased a little )

Ladyemma, I'm just the same as you with wine now, I'm only drinking around the time of my period, so my resistance to the alcohol has diminished. I must say though that I feel better for not drinking as much as I used to, don't get that fuzzy head in the mornings

TishTosh I agree with the others, wait another week at least to test or to see if you get AF. We all know how hard it is to just wait, but as Ladyemma said, a BFN can be quite disheartening. Whatever you decide to do, let us know how you are getting on - we are all here to support each other

TishTosh21 · 24/09/2009 20:46

Thanks so much everyone! I feel sick every now and again but dont know if thats poss pg or just coincedence. My nipples were sore not breasts but act my nipples not sure if thats a sign? ok will try my best to wait another week. I havent even had a withdrawal bleed, there has been no blood whatsoever which is why i cant tell if im pg or its just taking a little longer for my period to come. argh i hate waiting i just want to know so i can start looking in mothercare without feeling stupid!!

fotheringhay · 24/09/2009 20:47

Sorry no news from me for ages. I also had a limbo experience where I thought AF had arrived on Sunday (20th) then nothing more until yesterday (a bit) and today it is definitely here. Can totally sympathise with Ozzie.
I really had my fingers crossed until a few hours ago.
Now I don't know which day to count as the first of my new cycle... hmmm probably today.
Only one more chance for me this year because after that dh is away, so I've bought a Clearblue digital ovulation kit in eager anticipation!
Best of luck to everyone else on the rollercoaster!

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 24/09/2009 21:10

A bit of advice sought. What's the earliest I can test and stand a realistic chance of getting an accurate answer? Do I have to wait until AF is due, or can I test before then?

Ladyemmalou83 · 25/09/2009 01:44

you can test before your due, some tests are very sensitive and can show a positive as early as 6 days before your due, but try to hold on till when AF is due if you can. As I was saying to Tishtosh, it can be uite dishearting to see a negative result, when if you wait a few days it could be positive. Plus loads cheaper too, no spending out on loads of test till u know ur late. Good luck with the test though whenever you decide to take it x

Ozziegirly · 25/09/2009 03:37

Hey fotheringhay - I'm the same, I had vague spotting and then nothing and then came on in the evening lightly, and then properly the next morning, so I wasn't sure which to call CD1. In the end I went for the first proper day.

zippys your period sounds awful. Is it unusual that it's that heavy?

Back before I went on the pill I tended to have relatively light periods and then every now and then I would get a humdinger where I would often faint, have an upset stomach and would have very heavy bleeding - but only maybe once every 3-4 cycles.

I haven't had that yet but am dreading it happening again. The only way to stop it was to dose up on ibuprofen at the first sign and then keep taking it every 4 hours.

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 25/09/2009 07:45

Thanks Ladyemma I'll try and hang fire till due date then!

ImmaterialGirl · 25/09/2009 12:23

Another thing to think about in terms of testing early is wether or not you are mentally prepared for the fact that it might not 'stick' so to speak. Around 25% (I think?) of conceptions end in a chemical pregnancy or miscarriage, the majority so early that the woman never knows -unless she tests early...

I'm usually not able to hang in there at all though -serial early poas'er I am

bluesnowfalcon are you out there? Any news?

Anyone seen her on other threads?

OP posts:
kkas · 25/09/2009 12:40

hi fulham not sure if on TWW yet as although I have had CM this week and some twinges down there, I have no idea whether I ov'd. Will keep at it over the weekend I suppose. Although more BD issues last night. I am really starting to feel upset about this. BD seems to be the one thing that you can control in this whole TTC nightmare. And we don't seem to even be able to do that right.

just having a low day I suppose.

Don't worry - November will be here before you know it!

fulhamgirl · 25/09/2009 14:09

I hope so as it is horrible the 12 month wait.
Its like u concieve and just wanna tell everyone but know u cant cause of how unlucky it is etc. Dont get me wrong im over the moon but just like Imma said the chances of miscarriage is high. So horrible!! But touch wood im 5 weeks today and feeling fine still test now and again always positive!!

I tested easly but didnt get a positive until 2 days before I was due on!!

Expect my tummy has swollen I look more like 4 months than 5 weeks so I dunno whats going on there clothes are not fitting heared it could be alot of water there !!

Ive not seen blue anywhere or on any other thread hope she is ok never know she prob had some good news hopefully!!

It is true want imma said you do have to obe mentally prepared for everyhing testing early.

Good luck still to all!! Looking forward to hearing from the ones that are near testing there are a few more!!! Imma I think I concieved on my 9th day so get bding lol!!

Good luck guys xxxxx
