Sorry to hog the board today but I just wanted to share that I got an appointment with the doctor for next Tuesday! It isn't quite October but close enough! I'm very anxious to see what she says!

confuseddoiordonti · 22/09/2009 18:43

Hello! Am butting in this thread a bit late but have been reading it and sharing the same sense of trepidation / excitement.

After doing 'all the right things' this month I am now madly symptom spotting and it's driving me mad. The earliest I will test will be Friday (AF will be due about the 27th or 28th - I think) with a First Response. (I am fighting the urge to do it the whole 6 days before!)

Not sure if reading this thread is making me more or less nervous but at least I know I'm not alone!

claireinthecommunity · 22/09/2009 20:09

A very warm welcome to confuseddoiordonti

If you put down your stats someone will update the list with you on it. There are a few of us testing around the same time as you - good luck!

Really pleased to hear you have an appointment to see your doctor sevans, let us all know how it goes

confuseddoiordonti · 22/09/2009 20:20

Thanks Claireinthecommunity - erm, as I am a new TTCer, I am not quite sure what my stats are (or how to write them.)
This is our first 'go' and the first day of my cycle, a normally 27-28 day cycle, was the 1st Dec. Does that help or do I need to swot up and come back with something more technical!

Good to know there are others testing about the same time. I think Friday is the easliest but have been reading threads and thinking that leaving it for at least another week would be more sensible - BUT THAT WOULD DRIVE ME MAD!!

Ladyemmalou83 · 22/09/2009 21:07

Confused it sounds like these would ur stats

Confuseddoiordonti TTC#1 Cycle 1 UCL 27-28 CD ? (sorry couldnt figure out what day ur on of ur cycle)

If you can leave it another week it could wise, but I myself have been hopeless in the past with trying to wait. the joy of POAS

confuseddoiordonti · 22/09/2009 22:32

Thanks for that!

Ozziegirly · 23/09/2009 00:10

sevens sorry no idea from me either - good idea to see the Dr. It's frustrating when we just want things to be normal isn't it?

Well, I'm now on CD30 and still no sign at all of AF. I keep expecting it to have started when I go to the loo, but there is no sign at all.

Going from my last cycles and AF length, I have now actually missed a period as AF normally only lasts 3 days.

I dunno. I still don't feel pregnant in the slightest apart from my "full" feeling boobs, but no nausea, funny tastes, anything. I am fully assuming that something threw of ovulation this month causing a longer cycle, but I can't think what it could be as I haven't been stressed. The only thing is that I had a cold - I guess maybe that could have affected it?

I had EWCM at CD13/14 though so I assumed I had ovulated then.

Will let you know! It's frustrating isn't it zippys ? I assumed it would be a case of - late period, take test, pregnant.

aly323 · 23/09/2009 04:59

Hello ladies! I haven't been on lately since I've been a little blue about my skipped ovulation, missed period. It's been really frustrating- at least when you get af, you can get depressed, then start moving forward. The not knowing is really bad.

I tried charting this month, so I know there wasn't any temp rise. If it wasn't for that, I would agree with all my friends who are certain that af hasn't come because I'm pregnant. I'm pretty sure the temps are correct because I've taken a few tests and all were BFN. However, I've continued using okps, and just got a very, very strong +. I really didn't expect it since it is only 8 days past when af would come, but it is +. I also did an HPT, but it was neg. So, it looks like it's time to BD like crazy. I even had a cocktail for luck!! My poor guy is not expecting this tonight...

I just thought I would share for those of you in the same long cycle limbo. It might just be worth it to continue (or start) using the opk's. Luckily, I also kept temping, so it'll hopefully show O this time.

Crossed fingers for all of you and congrats to those of you who just got your BFPs. And. for Spirael, I'm so very sorry. I'm wishing you quadruple crossed fingers and sending you a big hug.

zippys · 23/09/2009 08:33

Morning everyone,

Hi confused, I know it is so hard waiting but you symptom obsess with us, we will soon have you boob jiggling

Thanks for your advice aly I think I have just missed a period as I have done another test this morning (CB digital) and it was negative so I think as I have been having a little blood when I wipe for the last 4 days (TMI sorry) that I am having AF and work my dates from there. I see your point re opk's and temping but I think i actually need to chill more and not get too obsessed (easier said than done). At least you are back to the fun part of your cycle

Ozzie I know what you mean why does mother nature have to make it so hard for us, either I have my AF and then we start BDing again or I am pregnant, but no we have to be in a limbo! I actually did a superdrug test last night and thought I had missed when I was peeing (dont ask, only I could think I have missed!!) so after 4 mins nothing showed up so I thought I would use it this morning. Got it out the pack again this morning and there was a stong control and the faintest line on the test therefore got excited and broke open the £10 CB digital only to read 'Not Pregnant'! Think it was just an evap line - shows me not to read it 12 hours later and get excited! Deep down I know I am not pregnant no symptoms at all.

So I think I am going to have a new focus, I am going to concentrate on losing weight and getting fit, will still keep trying but just move my focus (if I can!!)

Sorry for the long ramble this morning and I hope anyone near testing is having better news than me

Ozziegirly · 23/09/2009 08:49

I do sympathise zippys - it's annoying as everything has been running like clockwork for the last few months since coming off the pill, so why does it suddenly have to go haywire!?!

Like you, I am symptom free, so I can only assume that it's a late period for some unspecified reason. I would like to just get on with AF so that I can then get on with trying to conceive this coming month instead.

I am starting to get AF vague pains again, but I only seem to get them when I sit at my desk - however, in a way I hope AF arrives overnight so I can just shake off this cycle and get on with the next one.

Good idea to have another focus. I need to get back into the gym really as well. Just haven't felt like it with a cold and then the wondering over the late/missed period.

ImmaterialGirl · 23/09/2009 08:59

Morning all,

I seem to have done a post-and-run yesterday, sorry ozzie I only saw your first post, will move you back up again. And I'm sorry you're having a hard time being in limbo

aly nice to have you back, sounds like you may have just missed a period, definitely get some action in there over the next few days!

zippys it's too hard focusing on anything else! Let me know how you manage it...

sevans exciting about your doctors appointment! fingers crossed you get some answers and a plan!

confused welcome to the madhouse!

Hope everyone have a lovely day!

Hi im prob being v stupid but what does UCL and CD mean? Im TTC#1 atm too.

kkas · 23/09/2009 10:27

Hi TishTosh and welcome!

UCL means usual cycle length, which is the time from the first day of your period to when it starts again. I've only had one normal cycle after coming off the pill and it was a pretty normal 28 days.

CD means the day that you're on that day. So today I'm CD14 (which hopefully means I'll ovulate soon!)

Let us know your stats and we'll add you to our list

TishTosh21 · 23/09/2009 10:52

ahh i see! well i came off the pill 2 weeks ago and havent had a normal period yet so i have no idea what my stats are! But as i have been TTC ever since coming off the pill i might be pg anyway.

Ladyemmalou83 · 23/09/2009 13:51

Afternoon all, have been lazy today and only just woken up, DH let me lay in a little bit too long. Plan to have every other day S**g isnt going too well as we have a friend of mine staying, who has just split up with her fella and is a state. Is it right to have sex with her like this? I dont feel tom comfty about it, but a plan is a plan and the long term plan seems greater....ohh confused.com!

TishTosh21 · 23/09/2009 15:16

as long as she doesnt know what your doing Lady then go for it! you only live once and you need to get this ball rolling.

confuseddoiordonti · 23/09/2009 20:33

Thanks for adding me to the list, and also for the translations! It's obvious when someone explains it for you!

Looks like there are a few testers to be this weekend then. I have ordered a First Response as cannot trust myself to wait to do a cheapier but keep reading about them not being as good as I'd hope, or the different levels of pregnancy hormome your body makes being different from person to person (and therefore might not be detectable early.) While it isn't wholly likely I'll get a BFP I know I'll be wondering until I either get AF or don't so can do another test in about ten days (yawn - as if I'll last that long!) So, whose testing very soon - keep us informed please!

The prospect of doing this waiting thing month after month is driving me mad already and we've only been trying a month! Argh!

Trying4Baby1 · 23/09/2009 21:32

Hiya all, claireinthecommunity asked about my booking appointment so I thought I'd just update. Not a lot to tell actually was just asked about medical history and about my partners and our immediate families. Was given loads of stuff to take home and read and told to ask any questions I wanted. I had my height and weight taken and was told to phone the unit if I was worried about anything. I know every hospitals different so my scan is in just over 3 weeks and I'll get blood and stuff taken then. The midwife was lovely.

Really struggling with a heavy cold just now as I don't really want to take anything 'just in case'. Midwife told me it's safe to take paracetamol but I'd rather not take anything for the first 12 weeks if possible. Can't believe how much I relied on Flu plus for every cold before this! Also can't believe how many things you have to be careful of when pregnent, I mean strepsils!!?? Well hopefully I'll be over it soon enough.

sky27 · 23/09/2009 23:36

Hi all sorry for being quiet. Ov'ed late about day 21 and now have swine flu so this months out Hope you are all well glad to see the BFPs

Ozziegirly · 24/09/2009 00:11

Morning everyone.

Well after all that over the past 3 days - I am now CD1.

Actually feel quite relieved that I am out of limbo and can get on with this month now.

Tryiung4 that's really interesting - pleased the first appointment went well. keep us up to date, it's nice to know how it's all going, and also the various stages that you go through.

sky sorry to hear about the swine flu, hope you feel better soon.

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 24/09/2009 08:07

May I join in please? We're TTC #1. I've been off the pill for a year, but only started monitoring in ernest this month when I figured that letting nature take its course clearly wasn't working and I might need to take a more scientific approach!

Now the acronyms have been explained I think I can have a bash at my stats.

sevans good luck at the doc

pixie and claire I hope to see you both boob jiggling

Welcome to Tishtosh and Yorkshireteadrinker you will find everyone on here a friendly bunch but you may well get addicted to poas!

sky sorry to hear you have been hit by swince flu, but on the bright side it is better to get it now as opposed to when you are pregnant.

Lady hope you have been managing to BD quietly.

Ozzie I am like you, AF started in yesterday, and boy is it a bad one. Having horrible cramps, couldnt sleep last night and really really heavy (sorry TMI). But as you said I am also relieved to be out of limbo so I get back to the trying. Now just got the nightmare of trying to work out how long my cylce should actually be!

Fulham all of us pregnant by Christmas would be brilliant. Lets keep our fingers crossed. How are you getting on with your morning (or afternoon) sickness?

So I've been wondering, how many of you are monitoring/temping etc. and which ones of you are just doing the deed a lot around mid-cycle?

I think I know wrt some of you, just curious...

Myself I'm using a Clearblue Monitor and also temping -I think it works for me at the moment as it makes me feel proactive, pluss I'm learning about my cycle, but if it goes on for a long time I might go back to just 'seeing what happens' as it does seem to make you a bit obsessed....
