Ever onwards and upwards for all of you lovely ladies

VJaybigpants · 23/07/2009 11:50

Morning, just!!!

neeko my ds's name is Conor, so should go nicely with Ben.

hoping you do make me smile, bless you

blue what a relief with the blood tests

Right I'm going to email our emmsys email now....

gingermumi · 23/07/2009 12:00

Morning ladies! Have snet an email to the address I was given, now what? Havn't done this before so don't know what I should do next...can someone explain to the technophobic ginger!? thanks

Hoping, thanks for the story about your godmother, so reassuring to know i'm not the oldest mummy in the world (feels like it some times!).

blue, fab news about bloods, excellent. When I has DS they said my risk factor was the same as if i was in my twenties, it was an amazing relief!

Bakingquenn, pants having to do 8 nights- poor you.

Annie- would be same anout swine flu, I'm dreading going back to work in Spetembet - I work in a college with 4000+ students and staff on top of that- it's going to be a great breeding ground got groblies!

4ever sorry you're having a crappy time with work. You have us, so rant away!

cupcakefairy · 23/07/2009 12:02

ginger you should get a lovely email from gracie with all our details in it, and you get to find out everyone's real name then she'll also send your details round to us so you don't need to do a thing!
Once you've got everyone's address you can choose to send round a pic if you like though.

gingermumi · 23/07/2009 12:06

thanks cupcake fairy, wil wait to hear from gracie

4everhopeful · 23/07/2009 12:27

Thanks girls once again for saying the exact right things & letting me vent! It is hard.. Thing is I really really love my job! Just as thinking sod em all, I was healthily distracted by request from another dept to chase claims worth £140k for an album by an artist I really like, this is the part I love, lose myself in & get really stuck in, so therapy in itself when I can just concentrate on the job instead of the politics! I shall see what docs say tho & maybe see about time off still

barbie1 · 23/07/2009 12:46

hello girls...couldnt post at work today cos i actually did some work
I do love finishing at 3..its still sunny and it means i can have a nap on the sofa while the birds sing away outside...bliss!

4ever poor you, someone is really testing you at the moment arent they? Dont you just hate it when everything happens at once and no matter how positive you try to be you just cant reach the end of the bloody tunnel...last year was like that for me so i understand the joy and then the crashing back to earth thing straight after. Wish i could help you someway...im trying to send you some sun from this side of the world at least it will light the end of the tunnel for you and you should get to finally see the end!

Im going to a dodgy part of dubai in a minute, we have been invited to brunch (great fun when you cant drink...not ) tomorrow and the theme is 70's tennis....so there is an aread in dubai called the karama which sells cheap tat and designer fake stuff...its horrible, it smells and everyone stares and try to get you into there pokey little store, luckily there are four of us going so i have back up...who know might even pick up a fake handbag

Ill be back soon xxx

gingermumi · 23/07/2009 12:54

Barbie - had to smile, sounds deligthful. My ex bought some fake Lacoste perfume for dd2 when he was on his hols and it had bits floting in it! She said they were water fleas! it probably wasn't but try not to catch anything itchy!. sounds like it might be fun anyway!

gingermumi · 23/07/2009 12:55

floating in it

bluesatinsash · 23/07/2009 14:03

Afternoon y'all,

When I think of '70's tennis' the poster of the girl playing tennis with the bare bum peeking out her dress springs to mind - Think it was the best selling poster of the 70's, or was that Farah Fawcett . I of course was much too young to remember such things .

Neeko - I class 'Scottish' looking as 1. pale skin 2. high cheekbones 3. dark hair 4. twinkle in eye . The wedding's on the 4th September and have seen gorgous dress in isabella oliver - long, black and grecian empire line but its mega bucks so will see. Going to try and do an e-bay purge soon - got lots of 'stuff' to try and flog.

Vjay - Ben would go lovely with Conor! My DS is Isaac and I really want a name starting with a vowel this time too as it will flow nicely on the xmas cards . Really love Olivia but friend's wee one is called that so no go for me... Oliver on the other hand is still up for grabs .

Gracie and Annie - only one sleep left, will be thinking about you both x

Gracie - well done on the Emmsy's table - see you could do an office job no bother at all . I will email my mobile, couldn't remember it when I sent original email.

Ginger - good to see some regular posts from you!

cupcakefairy · 23/07/2009 14:20

gracie the table is amazing! I am well impressed

barbie did you survive the trip??

iggypiggy · 23/07/2009 16:16

Afternoon all! Am just back from conference today.

Gracie am well impressed with the table in all its neatness and glory! How are you doing? Will be thinking of you muchly tomorrow.

4ever have been through a restructure in previous job and we going through one now as well - I know is v. stressful time. The uncertainty is the worst. Always vent to us - am sue it will make you feel better

Neeko lovely pics of you and your family - how cute is your DD! I also agree no need for picture doctoring you look lovely.

barbie 3pm finishes sound excellent! Enjoy your brunch!

bakingqueen nice to hear from you - good luck with the clomid!

cupcake I am also worried about jools and mermaid hope they both ok.

vjay love the name conor too

curley how are you? How is sickness?

hoping hello!

blue get the dress - go on!

mls how are you?

Big hello to everyone else!

Neeko · 23/07/2009 16:30

Afternoon
4ever Hope I haven't missed you. sorry your life is such a big dipper right now. Hope you're feeling better now. Did you try my gran's pee/cry theory since you were in the toilet anyway? Bet you forgot! Hpefully impending AF is making you more hormonal and you're one step closer to the BFP that brings your gorgeous baby. I'm sending you a Kinder happy hippo - yummy!

Barbie what tat did you buy? Loving the nap idea. so glad you've finally sorted your work/life balance. You sound much more content and grounded

Gracie Impressive admin skills with the table. A paperclip drawer would be a waste of your talents! Still find it strange to hear everyone's RL names. Still testing and still have 5 tests left (3 types) so prob won't be stopping soon. I still get nervous waiting for it to work and then have a huge smile/sigh of relief when I get a BFP. Any tips for dealing with the constant fear though?

Blue Ooh fancy dresses sound lovely. Sell, sell, sell stuff on ebay and treat yourself!

Vjay Love your DS1's name Have a wee flutter of excitement everytime I think of your impending graduation.

Ginger Hope you're feeling more positive today.

Big waves to everyone else. MLS's new battle plan is obviously fool proof and all consuming as she clearly has no time to post!

Neeko · 23/07/2009 16:34

Only 2 left - bid quickly!

Sorry Gracie Keep forgetting to offer you my hand for tomorrow although I'm sure all will be fine. Telling everyone will be quite a relief in the end up, I'm sure, and just think of all the RL support you'll have

Annie Here's my other hand. Hope your news is reassuring tomorrow and allows you to enjoy this lo's impending arrival at last.

bluesatinsash · 23/07/2009 19:11

Neeko - I'm afraid the constant fear doesn't leave you. It gets easier as the weeks progress tho'. Just keep busy and have your EPU on short dial in case reassurance required!

I'm also conscious that mermaid hasn't been around. I think its the start of the school hols so she'll be busy with her DS but this thread is tricky to be around sometimes. We're very unique in that we're an amalgamation of three threads normally found in completely different sections of talk; support after mc (bereavement), ttc (conception) and ante-natal(pregnancy).

When I first joined last October we were all recovering from mc, and slowly but surely we started to fall pg again and sadly some of us mc again. Rather than bow out though, we stayed on sharing good news and holding hands. It has been hard at times, I remember announcing my 2nd MMC one hour after Vjay announced her BFP. Sometimes I couldn't post as I was so down but
I kept on here as inspiration to keep trying.

We are all conscious of providing support to those of us still recovering from mc and ttc but at the same time rooting for those getting scans and bigger and bigger bumps. Its a fine balancing act between feeling free to update on all the good news whilst being mindful of the sensitivites of those a few steps back.

What I'm trying to say , is we're unique and strong but sometimes its just a bit too much.

Love to all x

MummyLovesSadie · 23/07/2009 19:55

Blue what a fantastic post I have a tear in my eye. You have totally brought into perspective what we've all been through and are going through & how we feel. Thank God we all have each other through the good times, the worrying times & the truly awful times.

Yes Neeko I am still here! No bd action just yet but it won't be long.

I'm in the middle of cooking a thai green curry (again) after having had Mermaids watercress soup for lunch (again), yes I know I know I'm a creature of habit & I like what I like. I'll be back later.

hopingalways · 23/07/2009 19:55

nice table gracie - just can't square people's RL names with their mumsnet names!

just had to worm 4 kittens and a mummy cat...covered in cat hair, worming solution and traumatised from the anguished cries of tiny kittens and terrified mummy cat

and I have to do it again for the next 2 days...

Neeko · 23/07/2009 20:13

Blue You summarise this thread perfectly. Clever girl

MLS Glad you're ok. Dinner sounds lovely.

Hoping Poor you. Hope they have recovered from their trauma.

I'm shattered and in my jammies already. Going to veg out and watch the programme on Chanel 4 at 9 about The World's Oldest Mums - if I can stay awake.
Have a nice night everyone. Catch up with you tommorrow. Annie and Gracie I'm thinking of you both and hope you manage to sleep.

Neeko · 23/07/2009 20:14

Channel I am not watching a new perfume

Neeko · 23/07/2009 20:31

I know I said I was going but have just spoken to my friend who is due same day i was and she has been bleeding yesterday and today. She's been scanned and told all fine and to carry on as normal. She's fairly chilled about it all but I'm a nervous wreck. Came off the phone and burst into tears Can't believe how much it has shaken me.

MrsKate · 23/07/2009 20:38

hi all

just finished work and ate a big fat takaway.

neeko still had cramps and back ache it hhas not gone all day .!!!!!!!

gracie did work phone you up about what to ddo just to let you know a certain manager told a crowded staff room that she had a sister pregnant off sick so more people will know you news . advertising a sister post

MummyLovesSadie · 23/07/2009 21:34

Right, back now & my belly is full to busting but I still have a tub of pralines & cream ice cream warming up in the kitchen. Oink oink.

I've been lurking all day yesterday & I kept meaning to post but you lot were bloomin' talking too much! I felt like I couldn't keep up!

Neeko how many weeks is your friend? She must be 20-odd weeks & it is very unusual to have bleeding then unless you have something like placenta previa. Also it is very unusual to lose a baby then, I hope she is ok. I hope you are ok too, it must have really shaken you.

MrsKate you have nerves of steel, I applaud you for having the reserve to not have tested already.

Hoping you just wait until you have your newborn baby & the nurse is sticking a needle in it's little pink heel & one it it's chubby little arm, then you really will be traumatised!

Blue the poster of the tennis player with her bum hanging out came to my mind as well, here it is. Barbie I can see you doing this pose! How did your shopping trip go?

4ever glad you & back & sorry for your work stresses. I'm sure the restructure won't go ahead before January (they are hardly going to do it for your bosses benefit) & I wouldn't be surprised it it was changed again to later next year. Things like that are always happening at dh's company. When do you have your appointment to check if you are still covered with your treatment?

Baking bring on the twins! If you have any spare clomid then send it my way. I'd love to have a multiple birth next time & then I could safely hang up my bd boots forever.

Jools & Mermaid I hope you are having a short break to a lovely tropical island somewhere drinking pina colada's out of coconuts. Come back soon.

Gracie good luck for tomorrow, although I'm sure you won't need it. Yikes to the dodgy emails - I'd still like to read them though! Curly do you have a scan tomorrow too? Sorry if I'm getting confused but you have all blethered so much over the last couple of days.

Thanks Cupcake yes you did get my cd correct on the list.

Well today my gorgeous, sweet, angelic, 21 month old little dd decided she would start saying "Bollocks, bollocks, bollocks" - my blood curdled. I tried to deflect her by saying "No darling you mean horlicks, horlicks, horlicks" but she wasn't buying that, instead we settled for "boil it"!

anniebigpants · 23/07/2009 21:51

MLS-Bless your DD, that is so funny!

Blue-What a lovely way of summing up this thread.
Re names, my DS is called Oliver, he gets Ollie for short, now he is a small boy, but i wouldnt have people shorten it when he was a baby, my nephew is an Isaac, lovely name too.
VJay,s DS name Conor is one of my favourite names if this babba is a boy.

Thanks for all the well wishes re my upcoming scan tomorrow, i wish Gracie well too. Im just hoping they dont find any more soft markers (please God). My scan is at 11.00am tomorrow.

MummyLovesSadie · 23/07/2009 21:58

Oh Annie I knew someone else had a scan tomorrow. I will definitely be thinking of you. I'm sure everything will be ok & you will have a huge smile on your face when you come out of the scan room. Remember to let us know as we will all be waiting to hear your news.

GracieGirl · 23/07/2009 21:58

Evening! I'm pleased you all liked my table.

MLS well done for thinking on your feet with your DD, where did Horlicks come from?! Its Annie who has a scan at 11am tomorrow, mine is 9am. Barbie's is tuesday next week and Curly's had one this week already!
I'm really nervous about tomorrow's scan, Neeko I have no tips about staying calm and escaping the constant fear, as you can see I'm rubbish at it!! But time does go by if you sit tight.

Blue you describe our lovely thread so well. Its strange how well it all seems to work considering the differences in situation, number of children already, age, etc. I certainly wouldn't have held on to the tiny bit of sanity I have left without you lot.

Hoping your poor little kittens!

Kate the confidentiality for staff isn't that good at work is it! Though when I do go back I'll tell everyone anyway so I don't put myself at any unnecessary risk. I didn't get a phonecall from matron today about my job so I'll ring her tomorrow after my scan. The sister post being advertised isn't mine, its someone else's who hasn't been around for a while longer than me.

GracieGirl · 23/07/2009 22:00

X posted Annie - I'm thinking of you for your scan tomorrow (its taking my mind off the fact that I have one too! )
