Here's a shiny new thread named especially for 4ever, let this be the one where we get lots and lots of new BFPs and everyone's pants get bigger

Ever onwards and upwards for all of you lovely ladies

OP posts:
Neeko · 22/07/2009 14:12

Afternoon all.
Nice to have such an upbeat thread today.

YAY 4ever's back! So pleased to hear you sounding so grounded and centred. I hope the appt goes well on Tues and the in-laws back off a bit. Had a snort of laughter at idea of you asking when you MIL has sex! Know what you mean about being too obsessed and losing yourself. I was soo going that way and think the school hols came at just the right time. Convinced that Sabs holiday theory is what worked for me.

MLS so pleased to hear your AF is here and your cycle has reset itself again. That can't have been ovulation last week then so it's a relief to know you didn't miss it. Are you all stocked up on opks?

hoping Lovely pics. You all look so glam. I think I might have to send round some doctored pics

Vjay Love both Ben and Ewan. What's your son's name? My daughter's called Melissa and we love the name Matthew for a boy. Thought she was a boy so the name was all picked out. Hope I get the chance to use Matthew this time (or I'd be just as happy to name a girl)

Iggy Glad you're feeling better today too. Sounds like you're making a plan

Kate Have fingers crossed for those symptoms. I had cramps 3 days before my BFP and also a sore back - but that could have been the soft bed on holiday!

Gracie Hope your meeting's going well and they've told you just to take the rest of the time off on full pay!

Blue We have such similar tastes in TV viewing it's scary! Grease, Sound of Music, Friends, Grey's... Do you like Dirty Dancing and Who will love my children too?

Cupcake Are you awake yet? Can't believe you'll be a full time writer in 5.5 weeks. So proud of you for following your dreams

Barbie an afternoon by the pool with a book sounds fab. I'm Great news about your scan. How far on are you? I'm only 4+1 and am sort of wishing I'd waited before testing as the days are dragging...

Speaking of testing, I was in Poundland today and two packs of their pg tests fell into my otherwise empty basket Since they were in there I decided to keep them and can confirm that I appear to still be pg today

The brief summary of yesterday's bad day is that I borrowed a Vax machine from my brother to clean the living room carpet. After much effort and some swearing I got it to pump out the water but not suck up. Cue callling him and he came to rescue me (in a patrol car so now the neighbours are talking ) He couldn't fix it either so I had a wet and just as dirty carpet. Had to try to dry it with towels and then turn the radiator up full blast. Yesterday was the 1st time I've been away from DD for a month and didn't even get 2 mins to relax. To finish it off I clunked my head with the hose when tring to pull the damn thing apart to put it away and now have a bruise. Domestic goddess I aint!

Curly Hope you're still smiling. Big hugs to everyone else, escpecially those who really need them and sorry for such a long post.

Neeko · 22/07/2009 14:14

Hi Ginger Hope it happens for you. My aunt was 43 when she had her 1st so there's still hope.

gingermumi · 22/07/2009 14:17

well that lasted 5 mins! bored with work so back again!

Neeko sorry it was a bad day wih the carpet, if your machine is like ours you have to press a button to change it from hoover to washer. Hate the blardy thing so I always get dh to do it!

hoping- how can i see your pics?

Neeko · 22/07/2009 14:20

Did the button thing, checked the tubes...blah blah blah. Would have been easier sooking the water out of the carpet myself!

4everhopeful · 22/07/2009 14:21

I was born at Kingston hospital Barbie! Soz for making you teary!

Yea made myself manic already Cupcake with a load of 'distractions' (inc work anxieties!) decorating, socially crazy, think what I need is to just r e l a x - really really forgotten how, just realised theres a difference between relaxed & shattered!

Ginger sorry you feel like that but hopefully if you decide to give up a BFP will come along & surprise you a'la sods law!

Iggy and I are in a very small world, it was my work where she had her 1st interview!

Well, I was doing so well, albeit more & more manic as day proceeded. PG mate called talking about her scan this morning & seeing her freinds newborn twins & pushed my bravery to the limit, but still ok, then spoke to my mum who I told plan & situ in total confidence, only her & emmsys know our plan to lie to all to stop questions, also had weeny moan about MIL, mum just told me she told her friend all about it FFS!!!!!! What is the point eh? I feel like emigrating. Why does everyone think they have a right to know all our business - its gotta be one of the most private issues in anyones life - whys everyone got a f'ing licence to gossip about it.

gingermumi · 22/07/2009 14:22

Like i said Vax are the devil's work! Thanks Neeko, I know there are lots of older mums out there but every professional I have seen goes on about the risks etc and I at the point now where I'm questioning if we're still doing the right thing. Did your aunt have any more?

4everhopeful · 22/07/2009 14:24

Oops sorry Neeko not so 'upbeat'! Just needed to vent! Must arrange the relaxation hypno asap!

gingermumi · 22/07/2009 14:24

Thanks 4ver

4everhopeful · 22/07/2009 14:25

Oh & Ginger my mum was 41 when she had me (at Kingston). Now v guilty for moaning & off to call her back [guilty emoticon] oh yea will do!

Neeko · 22/07/2009 14:28

4ever They think they're being helpful, but she's your mum and you should tell her it upset you so she soesn't do it again. I'm sending you a vat of strawberry daquiri (even though I can't spell it) and some sensation crisps to chill you out.

Ginger No she didn't. They also went 10 years believing the other one didn't want children and felt they were blessed with DD. She's almost 7 now though and my aunt now says she wishes she'd tried again straight away. At least if you try you won't have that regret.

gingermumi · 22/07/2009 14:32

we have been trying since ds was about 7 months, had mc in Dec and have been trying again since Jan (even though my gp said wait three months- it seemed like wasting time). Nothing has happened since and my cycles have been all over the place- not sure if thats stress or just my age.

iggypiggy · 22/07/2009 14:39

4ever Am guessing your mum saying that was final straw after doing well with talking about babies. Can understand why you were

Is v. small world isn't it

neeko glad you checked you were still PG today - I got through loads of tests in feb

cupcake my DH wouldn't do dancing either - you should move nearer me

Neeko · 22/07/2009 14:41

Are you temping? I had a 7 week cycle before this one (bit of a running joke on here as everyone kept asking me when I was testing) I didn't ovulate until about day 36 and would have completely given up if i hadn't temped and had Cupcake's advice re late ovulation. It made me much more confident this cycle and meant i didn't worry (quite so much ) about not ovulation until cd21 and voila! Since my MMC I've temped, used opks, drunk grapefruit juice etc as I didn't want to miss out on any chances.

Neeko · 22/07/2009 14:42

Hi Iggy that makes me feel better, thanks. I've ONLY done one a day since Sunday

MrsKate · 22/07/2009 15:01

hi all

still got cramps and boobs hurt even more. im trying not to get excited about it tho as i get to upset when im not pg.

gracie you have to tell me what matron says ???

i dont know when to test im desprate to now but its too soon ????

4everhopeful · 22/07/2009 15:10

Phew spoke to mum, she swore she just told her that we want some space & that she will tell her news when there is some, exactly as my cunning plan intends. Now feel guilty for going off on one.

Mrskate test test!

Im off to down the strawberry daquiris & sensations crisps that Neeko kindly provided! xxx

GracieGirl · 22/07/2009 15:30

Hello all. Just a quick post as heading back out. Didn't get far with my meeting, lots of sensible and ridiculous ideas passed backwards and forwards and no conclusion reached. The hospital bigwigs are holding a meeting tomorrow afternoon to make a decision on the fate of all pregnant healthcare staff so I'll get a call tomorrow hopefully with more of a plan. I imagine they'll come up with 2 plans one for most areas and one for frontline swineflu treatment areas (which is where I'm supposed to be). I think the general plan is that i go to work next week for two 8 hour shifts (instead of 12 hour) and do paperwork whilst they finish coming up with a plan. 2 of the other pregnant people are off sick anyway and not likely to be back in the next couple of weeks and the other they've already moved out of A&E, so they've only got me to be worried about at the min.

barbie1 · 22/07/2009 16:01

the pool was lovely...i sat in the shade like a good girl and even feel asleep until a nasty ant bit my elbow

4ever i lived in kingston for 2 years before moving to newcastle, i loved it there...least not because we had a half mil pound pent house apartment on the river, kindly provided by dh work....right next to the pub aswell. Happy days!

vjay love the name ben....oh and dh wanted another dog just to call it 0 prime! strange things men....

Oh and my boobies are called jebs not jubs are i originally wrote, dh kindly asked me to correct myself on here, while peaking over my shoulder!

gg i hope they sort your work out soon!

neeko ill be 10 weeks and 3 days by tues...i agree with you about testing...i wish i was one of the lucky ones who didnt realise until they are about to give birth are about 3 months!

cupcakefairy · 22/07/2009 16:40

Haha barbie that made me laugh about your dh demanding you used the correct term

gracie hope they sort out your situation soon and that going back to work isn't too much of a 'mare for you!

kate- you've heard neeko and barbie! Try to resist testing as long as you possibly can! Day after af would be due I would say...(so 15 or 16DPO) but sounds promising for you

neeko love it that the tests just happened to 'fall into' your basket Also love your dd's name, I had a colleague called Lissa for short which I think is so pretty. But to you calling me a full time writer... that sounds way too scary, let's just call it 'attempting to write' or something...

4ever I'm TOTALLY with you on the anger towards people wanting to know your business. I have one 'friend' at work and he constantly goes behind my back asking my girl friends from work whether me and dh are ttc again...apparently one of them didn't answer his question but changed the subject (good girl!cos she does happen to know we are trying!) and he said 'oh she's obviously pregnant then!' why are people so annoying??
(rant over)

ginger you must send your email to [email protected] too then you can join our network (that sounds so cliquey doesn't it!)

Neeko · 22/07/2009 18:37

Hi. I've just tried to email round a couple of pics. Can someone let me know if it's worked? Thanks.
Off to catch up now.

Neeko · 22/07/2009 18:44

Barbie Good girl for staying out the sun I can't believe you're so far on already. I hope mine flies past like that (I know, I know, it's dragged for you)

Cupcake Lissa is my pet name for her though I use it less now than I did when she was a baby

MrsKate · 22/07/2009 18:54

me too neeko !!!!!! did you get lower back ache near you bum lol

my cycle is 32 and im on 25 today i think

i cant test till saturday now as at work for 2 days

hopingalways · 22/07/2009 19:01

4ever is it weird that I get on your behalf about people in RL not giving you the support you need? really glad to see you're being more positive, sending you hugs

gracie look forward to shorter shifts and paperwork! welcome to my world

vjay ben's hat's on the needles

cupcake on your behalf as well. some people just don't have a clue do they? I had a really good freind (who knew all about the mcs) honestly ask "why is this whole baby thing such a big deal with you?" think we just got to accept some people are not on the same planet as us anymore...

moon hope you're feeling a bit better today

ginger come join our network ! my god mother had her ds at 41, gave me her heirloom pearls as she'd never have another at her age etc etc, dd born 5 years later!

thanks for being so nice about the piccies naturally I didn't pick the mingy ones I like the one with the bow in my hair - I look demented and glamorous in equal measures, just the face I want to present to the world

Neeko · 22/07/2009 19:01

Hiya. Yes just above my bum to the right hand side. Still have it now but more of a niggle than a pain.

Neeko · 22/07/2009 19:02
