Here's a shiny new thread named especially for 4ever, let this be the one where we get lots and lots of new BFPs and everyone's pants get bigger

Ever onwards and upwards for all of you lovely ladies

GracieGirl · 20/07/2009 11:41

I keep getting interupted so not got far with reading this thread yet.

Though my news for the morning is that I'm not allowed to go to work! The Department of Health says so. Amongst all those bits of advice flying about over the weekend about pregnancy and swine flu and avoiding crowded places/public transport is the statement that says pregnant healthcare workers shouldn't go near any patients until after the pandemic! So work get to either suspend me (on full pay) on medical grounds or redeploy me to an office job. Whilst they get round to thinking of a plan I get to sit at home.

Edinburgh was lovely, a nice relaxing weekend with DH. Duran Duran was great too!

cupcakefairy · 20/07/2009 11:50

NEEKO!! I just knew it...so sooo pleased for you Holiday babies aren't so much of a myth after all then! Congratulations (let's at least have one day of being super excited before the worries kick in!)

Gracie great news about work! Looks like you will get to just put your feet up and stroke your tummy for the next few months after all then

Jools know exactly what you mean about peoples' care-free attitude towards their pregnancies...grr on your behalf! Have you had the wine on your cereal? (love that neeko!) iggy I'll race you to that April baby

Loads more people at work now know I'm going... my manager and my closest work friend both cried and set me off... all very weird.

iggypiggy · 20/07/2009 11:53

gracie that is fab news

cupcake you're on

barbie1 · 20/07/2009 12:03

cupcake have i missed something? are you leaving work???

fecking hell gg i knew i should of listened to my mum and became a nurse, i could so do with the next 18 months off work...and it will be that long cos now they are saying its going to take a year too clear and then you will be on mat leave!

jools are you breathing yet hun??? silly twit of a friend

cupcakefairy · 20/07/2009 12:22

barbie yeah I'm leaving in 6 weeks I am going to be supported by my lovely hubby while I attempt to follow my dream and write we'll see if it works out! (I work in accounts atm which is fine, but it's not the dream!)
All this mc/ttc business has just made me realise I needed a big change...I keep getting waves of fear thinking I'm going crazy...but I know it's right really

Neeko has it sunk in yet? I keep smiling thinking of your news, so glad you are pg again before your edd.

hopingalways · 20/07/2009 12:46

yay neeko! that is fab!

sorry I've been MIA ladies - been playing at a concert for one of my old teachers. Havent picked up the clarinet in years, so sightreading my way through first clarinet was terrifying! The band leader praised my enthusiasm was brilliant to see so many old freinds and teachers!

now on holiday myself at my parents, kitten sitting while they're away! tons of books, knitting, digital telly, all mods cons, nothing to do but relax...which I'm doing too well eating rubbish and drinking way too much. Just have a feeling it wont be our month...not sure why, oved and bded on cd 10 (I think, not so great at tracking cm and temping with insomnia is just giving a picture of the Alps) just too chilled to mind this month!

sorry for mad rambly post, just feeling happier and more relaxed than I have since we started ttc back in November so surprised I had to share!

jools console yourself, you have worked hard to give your dc to be a loving stable home with adoring parents. At the end of the day, you will be a fabulous mother

first emmsys hat is off the needles ready to be sewn up! vjay as our first bigpanter I reckon it could be yours, unless you want a bigger one for your lo to wear once it's colder?

hopingalways · 20/07/2009 13:34

it's v quiet for a lunchtime... did I scare everyone away?

barbie1 · 20/07/2009 13:35

im here just home from work and its still light normally i leave in the dark (its dark by 7pm) i love working shorter hours

bluesatinsash · 20/07/2009 13:36

Hoping - you're sounding very chipper . Glad you're having a nice relaxing time. I love the clarinet, such a lovely sound. I'm in awe of anyone who can play an instrument (although I can do Grand Old Duke of York on the recorder ).

Gracie - glad you enjoyed our capital city and DD. Yay! to staying off work .

Buddha - how exciting feeling flutters and being 19 weeks!!!

Neeko - still for you. at you watching Gray's with bump.

MrsKate · 20/07/2009 13:47

hi all

neeko i am so so happy for you XXXXXXX congrats

gracie im glad your back . dh is better so dolly walks may be resumed thats if you want to.i want to be pg now so i can be off lol

sorry for short post very tired from nights xxx

iggypiggy · 20/07/2009 13:52

a question - has anyone read 'taking charge of your fertility'? is it worth reading?

I am having that early cycle panic where I try to work out what I can do to make sure this month is my month

also - what about the clearblue fertility monitor? Looks expensive tho...

cupcakefairy · 20/07/2009 14:35

Haven't read it myself ig but have heard nothing but good things about it here on MN. From what I can gather it explains all about temping and the 'other' things you have to do to monitor your fertility (polite way of saying mucus-watching )

It's so weird but when af arrived this time I actually stopped taking the folic acid and eating the brazil nuts... I'll probably start again soon but for the moment I'm cupcakethechilled

Hi hoping no you didn't scare anyone away! Was just off eating my sarnies... so fab you have finished the first emmsy hat, well done you!

SabsBigPants · 20/07/2009 16:50

hello ladies, hope everyones having a good Monday..

first of all CONGRATULATIONS NEEKO! I'm so happy for you! A holiday lo like mine! Now make sure you look after yourself..

hoping good to hear you're feeling happy and relaxed...happy knitting! Havent received a parcel from you in case youve sent it already

cupcake good luck with the career change! I'm sure you'll be a success. Remember us when youre rich and famous! Makes me remember our other famous writer vm hope you're well if you happen to be lurking

gracie make the most of your time off, lucky you! Good to hear you had a good weekend

budda love the name name. Wow, 19 weeks already! Though im sure it feels like forever to you. I'm 30 weeks now and still got SO much to do before bubba comes along!

iggy sorry to hear TEW got you

annie good to hear you had a brilliant holiday

vjay bag packed yet??

Had the day off today so took my brother and cousins to watch harry potter...i'm a mad harry potter fan. Went to the 3d imax show so the first 20 minutes were in 3d...Absolutely amazing! I must sounds really sad lol but I love HP! Yesterday went ikea to look for some furniture for the house but couldnt find anything. Also went to mothercare and saw a quinny for sale...This pushchair buying is driving me mad, im even thinking about pushchairs in my sleep! I really want a quinny buzz but all the reviews say its quite heavy, not good storage-wise and difficult on buses, but it looks so nice AND faces forward and backwards, which is what i want and in my price range as its on sale.

sabs waves to vjay mls blue moon jools mrskate curly sophable bakingqueen and anyone else ive missed

iggypiggy · 20/07/2009 16:54

Neeko · 20/07/2009 17:11

Hi ladies. Just popping in while the tea is cooking. Thanks for all your lovely messages. They mean so much and have made me quite misty eyed (hormones?) Cupcake is right it's nice to have one excited day before I ignore it for months weeks.

Cupcake Can't wait to read your first bestseller. make sure it has a cupcake on the cover

Sabs Buy the one you fancy - you're the one who'll be pushing it and you can always invest in a cheap bus-friendly buggy when your lo is older.

4ever If you're lurking. Don't stay away too long. We miss you already. Take care.

Have to go now, apparently food that's cooking burns if you don't keep an eye on it. Damned inconvenient!

gingermumi · 20/07/2009 17:18

Heya ladies sorry I have been away so long, i see we have another BFP (neeko- congrats). Could we have an updated list so I can catch up a bit? Been busy with end of term but hopefully should be able to post more pften now. cycle before last ended up 9 days late, was totally weird didn't know what the hell my body was doing! last month was a day early? Am now. Am now cd 19 (and have jst come back from a few days in devon so who knows ). Big waves to all

VJaybigpants · 20/07/2009 17:38

Hiya, and a huge congrats to neeko that is fab news

mls I love your tattoo, I got a ring to remember my lost angels, and dh recently got a tat done, its a cross surrounded with tribal swirls, then ds's name underneath, and he'll get babas name put on it as and when.

buddha 19 weeks, where has the time gone , love the name too

barbie I remember having heart palpatations early on, the doc says it's nothing to worry about.

hoping I think sabs wants that first hat, but I'll definatly have a bigger one to cope with the Highland winter

sabs no the bag is not done yet, I've now added some knickers to it, so that's slippers and knickers . I love Harry Potter too, dh and ds went to see Transformers on saturday, for the 2nd time (ds is a huge fan), so I went to see Harry Potter on my own, I felt very brave and thoroughly enjoyed it

Well coming up to the last 5 weeks, still haven't started the raspberry leaf tea which I was going to start last week. I'm normally super organised I don't know what's happening to me. Dh and ds have decided on a name now, which I like but it's not my first choice!
Waves to everyone

mm1509 · 20/07/2009 17:41

Hi ladies,

Been away way to long, need to have a good read to catch up with all the news.

Just had to say a big congrats to neeko fantastic news and look forward to a meet up with blue in Glasgow, oh I just love it when we have another BFP. gracie glad to hear of your time off work, enjoy some time for yourself put those feet up.

buddha love the new name, had a double take when I seen it, could be the perfect name for me atm.

barbie lovely to see you back, glad you had a good trip home.

curly sorry about the carry on with your scan, how are you getting on with the ms. Still puking away here I'm afraid I hoped it would have passed by now, no such luck.

Not much to report here, being kept busy with DD now the school holidays are upon us, loving being off with her though, it's the first time I have been off right through with her. Got another scan booked on 11th Aug, apparently they want to check my cervic. No 20 week scan here though so hope they will have a look at the baby too while they are there.

Sorry I don't have time to post to everyone in person but big waves to jools, MLS, sabs, 4ever, mermaid, kate, cupcake, iggy, vjay, annie, hoping, sophable, moon, baking and anyone I've missed. Won't stay away too long this time.

BlueMoon1981 · 20/07/2009 19:19

neeko i am soooo happy

i liked your medium pants update, it took me a few seconds before i realised, as i was busy looking to see what cycle day you were and i couldnt find you!

Heathcliffscathy · 20/07/2009 19:56

neeko!!!! fantastic!

jools come back to my thread i need you...

still no AF here. 2 days late now. BFN this morning. but as someone suggested on the other thread, if i ovulated late CD17 then i wouldn't be due for another 2 or 3 days...it is absolutely torture waiting...

MummyLovesSadie · 20/07/2009 20:14

Just a quickie for now to make you all laugh, my dd was jumping up & down in the kitchen this morning & when I asked her what she was doing she said "Jumping in muddy cuddles"!!

Neeko · 20/07/2009 20:27

Hi (Again - can't stay away today cos you all know and no one other than DH in RL does )

MLS Love the idea of a muddy cuddle although it sounds vaguely rude!

MM nice to see you. We really should do a meet up. It'd be nice to put proper voices and faces to the names. Since neither of us have posted a pic we'd have to wear an Emmsy's sticker or something

Curly Thanks for the extra long yay. Seems you were right! How's things with you?

Moon Glad you liked my update. I was too nervous to type the words. Hope you're well today.

Vjay Just pack the bloody bag How are we going to have an Emmsy's hospital bag list if you don't write it? I'm fewer weeks pg than you have left to go

gingermumi Nice to see you back. hope all your marking's done and this is your month.

Sophable hand in there - though I even feel like you've been on the 2ww forever

How's everyone feeling tonight?
