hey sevans it finished on Friday thank goodness lol, how are you?
popsy I was the opposite way about with the clomid, 50mg had loads of side effects but 100mg wasnt too bad. I was also advised to take it at night to lessen the side effects which did seem to work.
How you feeling littlemissmischief? xx

Littlemissmischief · 27/09/2009 19:14

Hey Stac, thanks for asking, im feeling....pants to be honest! Not sure if its just the Clomid making me feel down but just feeling fed up lately and at the end of my tether with it all, I hate all the waiting around the worst because im not the most patient person at the best of times! Ive not felt 'right' since I started taking the tablets but am hoping the abundance of side affects means they are doing their job! Was so sure that Clomid was the answer and the doc seemed very positive too but have heard such conflicting evidence on here im trying not to get my hopes up!Anyway enough moaning... glad your AF has finished now

Popsy-i feel for you hun, we have all done symptom spotting so dont worry, when is AF due?

Sevens- good luck at the docs.

LiLew · 28/09/2009 08:34

Hey girls! How are you all doing? Glad to hear your AF has stopped now stac14!

Littlemissmischief - I had a few side affects on my first round of 50mg (headaches, hot flushes, nausea, cramps), and had them pretty much throughout my whole cycle. My 2nd round of 50mg I only had slight headaches when I was taking the Clomid, and then nothing after that. I've finished taking the 100mg on my 3rd round and I've had a few side affects as I did the first round but not as bad. I think everyone is different though. I actually didn't mind having them too much as at least I knew they were doing something!! (although it turns out the 50mg still didn't make me ovulate!).

Try and keep your chin up hun - I'm the same as you - not very patient at all!! The waiting is just the worst. I'm starting to just not care any more (which is maybe a good thing because stressing about it doesn't help). I'm fed up with it all too - it's just so draining isn't it? I went out on Saturday night with a couple of girls - one of them is pregnant with her 2nd and the other has a 1 year old, so it was baby talk pretty much all night . I just wanted to cry!

xxx

Littlemissmischief · 28/09/2009 11:04

Hey Lilew. Thanks so much, although i wish you werent going through this, it is nice to have people who understand. The waiting is the worst and like you I had pretty much given up hope until i saw the consultant and got the Clomid and now it feels like I'm starting all over again with the excitment of hoping and being nervous. I really feel for you with going out with pregnant friends, it is so difficult isnt it? You want to be happy for them and listen to all the little details but all the while its upsetting you inside. Ive decided WHEN i do get pg i wont go on about it to others and I will defo not ever ask anyone 'so when you having another then?' which is everyones favourite question for me, I have run out of false answers and next time may just have to tell the truth!

Can anyone tell me is it normal to have sore boobs and really bad period type pains with the Clomid?

Hows everyone else doing?

Babydust *

LiLew · 28/09/2009 14:56

Hehe yeah! I always get asked 'so when are we going to hear the pitter-pattering of tiny feet?'! We've been married for 18 months now and as soon as we got married we got asked that! You really just feel like telling them to mind their own business haha! You're right - we should just tell them the truth which would shut them up!!

The only advice I can give with the clomid is to not get your hopes up too much. I don't want to put a downer on your nervous excitement at all, and I've got all my fingers and toes crossed that it works first time for you, but I have to say that I was quite excited when I started it as I thought it would be the answer to all our problems and I'd fall pregnant straight away. That didn't happen, and my first AF on the clomid was just awful - I felt so low and cried for about 2 weeks, and had a terrible AF.

It's likely that if it is going to work that it will take a couple of cycles - your body needs to get used to it and everything. As I say, I don't want to put a downer on it at all, and I do believe you should stay positive, but just take care not to set yourself up for a big fall like I did!

In answer to your question, I've not had sore boobs, but on my first round I had period type cramps for a week or so before AF.

Sorry - I've waffled on for way too long!

Littlemissmischief · 28/09/2009 15:54

Oh could you imagine.....
Person: so when are you giving DS a little brother or sister then?

Me: Well as a matter of fact we have been trying for over 2years, we have tried every pill, potion and position going and every month it breaks our hearts that we are not pregnant, so in answer to your question...not too sure!

Dont think they would be asking again! lol

I appreciate you being honest about the Clomid cos sometimes I do need a little perspective. Dont get me wrong, I know im the luckiest person in the world to have my DS and if he is the only one I ever have I will always be gratedul for him but it has made it harder not only for the fact he wants a little baby brother or sister but because I fell pg with him without even meaning too in the 1st month of me and DP being together which is why the doc said she is pretty sure I can get pg easily but because my periods are so long apart and irregular we are likey to only have a couple of windows a year where im actually ovulating and so its much easier to miss the right time, so by giving me a regular cycle we should have a better window of opportunity.

I will defo take your advice though and I wont get my hopes up too high but will just keep my fingers tightly crossed for luck!

Sorry I've just waffled on now too x

eveywoo77 · 28/09/2009 15:58

stac14 · 28/09/2009 20:54

Hey ladies
how are you all? I'm good feeling a lot less tired since af stopped.
littlemissmischief there are lots of side effects from clomid that make you feel sh**ty, it really isnt the kindest of drugs thats why this time I am giving myself a couple of cycles just on metformin then I will go back to clomid as I have been offered the combo for 6 months, my cons said to stop putting so much pressure on ourselves and I think everyone should try this (easier said than done lol)

Hows things with you lilew and popsy?
Welcome to the thread eveywoo hope af doesnt show.

baby dust for us all

KayEve · 29/09/2009 02:37

Hello So, I'm not sure if this thread is still active but I thought I would try! This is my first time posting on a forum - although, I've read a lot of other peoples stories. I'm reaching out for support and to find others who are going through the same things as me.
I've been diagnosed with PCOS and stage IV endometriosis. I'm 24 years old and the past year has been a whirl wind. Married in May '09 and TTC since July '09. Only 3 months/4 cycles but it feels more like 3 years. I just finished my second go at clomid (50mg) and no success...again.
I'm feeling very discouraged and afraid that I'll never be able to have a baby.
I can't keep doing this -- how do you guys cope?
Thanks for listening

eveywoo77 · 29/09/2009 08:38

Just POAS and think I saw a very faint line I know i should have waited but it got the better of me, When I got PRG with DD the clinic told me to go back a week later as the line was to faint to give a 100% POS so think Im slow to produce HCG as it was 3 days after Af was due. Dont have to many SYMP this month just sore boobs and a little sicky feeling and oh that huge blob of jelly looking CM (sorry TMI). Im going to wait and test again on fri Im not telling DP or DD (shes 13) as I dont want to build their hopes up. Will keep you all posted. Mybe this month we got to the front of the queue??? XXXX

LiLew · 29/09/2009 09:26

Hey ladies!

Littlemissmischief - stac14 is definitely right that the more pressure you put on yourself, the less likely you are to fall pregnant. I keep trying to tell myself this and just chill out about it all. I think I'm the same as you where I only have a couple of windows a year where I ovulate (I had one blood test done last december which showed that I'd ovulated, and that's the only cycle I've had that's been perfect - 28 days, and a good AF - if that's possible!!). I think that since then I haven't ovulated (although I have a 'feeling' that I did yesterday - probably me just getting my hopes up again though!!). CD15 today so I've got AGES to wait till I find out! BUT, I'm going to keep calm and not worry about it !

I'm sure it will happen for you soon hun - you know that you CAN fall pregnant and it's just a matter of time. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you xxx

Welcome eveywoo77! Ooooh how exciting you got a faint line!!! Do keep us posted - wishing you loads of luck! xxx

Welcome to you too KayEve! I don't have any experience with PCOS or endometriosis, so I couldn't possibly comment. It sounds like you're going through it though you poor thing. I suppose a couple of positives are that you are still young, and you have only been trying for 4 cycles so try and keep your chin up as there's loads that can be done to help you. They might increase your clomid to 100mg - that's what they did for me after 2 cycles on 50mg and not ovulating. This is my 3rd cycle on Clomid, and 1st on the 100mg so I'm hoping it works! xxx

Hey stac14! Glad you're feeling a lot better now. A new cycle, a new start! Try and keep up that good feeling xxx

LiLew · 29/09/2009 09:28

My god - I just realised that my last post was HUGE! Sorry about that - I have a tendancy to waffle xxx

Littlemissmischief · 29/09/2009 10:08

eveywoo - Wow a faint line sounds v.v.v. promising! Cant wait for an update

Kayeve - welcome I have stage 2 endometriosis and it the consultant said its more than likely I have PCOS too. I know it is so hard thinking you will never get pregnant but like Lilew said you are still young and have only been trying for a few months, I dont know if it will make you feel any better but one of my best friends was ttc for over 2 years and she had no fertility problems and neither did her DH it just didnt happen and there was no reason for it, she is now 6 months pg! Obviously having problems such as endo and PCOS makes it far more difficult to concieve but it can just take a while regardless. Please dont give up hope, there are so many options to try yet - good luck hun x

Stac - glad your feeling better

Lilew - are we having a contest on who can do the longest post lol

popsy1 · 29/09/2009 12:35

Hi Ladies how are you all?
Sounds like some may have good news , ill keep my fingers crossed for you everywoo77. Keep us updated.

Its so so hard. The emotional roller coaster and the endless disappointments. Anyway i'll move on.

I'm on CD 24 and how cramps, nausea, sore boobs etc etc for about 2 weeks. Still hving cramps so im convinced im not pg and my body is getting ready for AF.

stac14 · 29/09/2009 15:39

{{hugs}} for you popsy sorry your feeling crap hun, hopefully its a good sign that you feels crappy. your dp is right tho

congrats eveywoo keep us posted on your progress, you have good will power being able to keep it to yourself, my dp starts bugging me the 2nd af is late even though most months its the pcos stopping mine arriving lol

welcome to the thread kayeve I have pcos but as of yet no sign of endometriosis although my sister in law is convinced I have it as I have the exact same symptoms as her lol. you will find wonderful support on here, I like you had never posted on a forum either but have found the help and advice invaluable. Are you being monitored on the clomid?

How are you lilew and littlemissmischief?? Nothing much changed my end lol xx

sevans · 29/09/2009 16:57

My appointment was today! I think it went well. We first talked and I told her how we've been trying for three months, I haven?t had a period since being off the pill, and I have had spotting spread throughout and everyday the last two weeks. She did an exam down there and noticed I did have a lot of old blood (hence the brown spotting) and she wanted to do an internal ultrasound. I got to see my ovaries and stuff on the screen and she said everything was fine. We then went to her office and talked. She said the spotting was because I haven?t been ovulating so there is a lot of old blood. She gave me a prescription for Provera which forces a period and a prescription for 50 mg Clomid. I take the Clomid days 5-9 of my cycle and hopefully ovulate! I am supposed to call when I start my period so we can set up an appointment for me to go back some time later in the month so she can run tests to see if I actually ovulated. She also wants DH to do a semen analysis before I go back to see her. I understand why. No point on just concentrating on me if he has an issue too.

I feel good because now I actually have a chance at ovulating!

stac14 · 29/09/2009 22:56

sounds like your on the clomd train now sevans good for you, is the docs scanning you or doing cd21 bloods? either are fine. Has she said anything about why your not ovulating? glad you had a good app hun x

Littlemissmischief · 30/09/2009 10:14

Hey ladies.

Popsy - sorry your feeling down hun, it is so hard but if AF hasnt arrived there is still a chance you could be pg, I will keep my fingers doubly crossed for you

Stac - same here, nothing much changed here on CD12 so getting there! Although being DTD since CD8 just incase, Ive had some wicked stomachache for the last few days, if i didnt know better I would say a really bad AF was coming

Sevans - that is great news! Really glad you got a decent doctor that is keen to help. Really hope it works for you!

Babydust **

sevans · 30/09/2009 14:54

Thanks for all of the well wishes stac and Littlemiss. I am really excited!

stac I'm not sure if the doc will be scanning me or I will be doing day 21 bloods. What is the difference between the two? She just told me to call once I start my period so we know when to set up the next appointment. And the reason why I'm not ovulating is because I have PCOS. Maybe I forgot to mention that in my first post. I was diagnosed with it at age 22 when I went to an endocrinologist to see why I was getting irregular periods. I've been seeing this doctor yearly since then just as a check-up so I feel really comfortable with her. I'm 28 now.

Anyway, good luck to you all!

popsy1 · 30/09/2009 16:46

Hi Ladies
Thank you for the words of encouragement littlemissmischief and stac14, much appreciated.
I'm feeling a little brighter today but still very tired and have sore boobs and nips!! The men have such an easy ride! Actually, second thoughts maybe not with mood swings etc.
sevans, i also have PCOS and i had both the scans and blood test but only until they found the right dose for me. The scans are to check your follicles are growing and that there isnt too many, so you dont have multiple births. The blood test is to check you have ovulated. My CRM unit said progesterone over 30 means you've ovulated but i've heard different from other PCT.

Love to all
xx

sevans · 30/09/2009 17:39

Thanks popsy for the information. Glad to hear that you are feeling a little better. Around what day does the doctor check the follicles? Multiple births--wow! I wouldn't mind twins at all but anything more than that would be crazy!

I take my temperature every morning so maybe that will also help check if I ovulate on Clomid. I actually had a rise in temperature this morning which I think I has to do with the Provera that I started taking last night. That means that my period is on the way!

popsy1 · 30/09/2009 18:19

sevans; AF on its way means you can get started. I called the hospital on day 1 or 2 of my cycle, took clomid CD2-6, first scan on CD7, 2nd on day 13 or 14, then depending on what they saw at 2nd scan (if a follicle is starting to grow) will depend on the next scan date. I hope this is making sense! When i took 50mg nothing happened at 2nd scan so i had 3rd scan at CD19. With 100mg i had one follicle grow from 10mm to 20mm so they scanned me two days later and it had collapsed, then i had a blood test on CD22 to see if i had ovulated. I had but failed at the last hurdle .
As 100mg worked they know longer scan or do a blood test. My hubby and i aren't sure if we like this (i took clomid 9yrs ago with no support and no pregnancy)but apparently its the norm!
Anyway i hope that all helps and doesn't confuse you sevans
Good luck hun. Keep posting
xx

stac14 · 30/09/2009 19:39

popsy & sevans I didnt get scanned at all while taking clomid but they did cd 21 bloods every month to see if I had ov'd even after it worked with 100mg. Since starting the metformin I will start clomid again on my next af and get cd 21 bloods again. I think it depends on where you live as to whether or not you get bloods, scans or nothing at all, typical post code lottery.

How is everyone today?? xxx
