Neeko · 29/05/2009 09:06

Morning all. Thought I'd update as yesterday turned out just to be spotting so today is really day 1 for me. The race is still on though. Going for more modest tracksuit trousers than shorts - the world is NOT ready for me in shorts!

Neeko - ditto on the shorts front

How long is your cycle normally ? (am trying to work out if I can win this race

I am waiting for a charity to come round this morning to pick up some old stuff we no longer need - a duvet / a TV / an old stereo etc etc - it is all going to a womens refuge and I kinda like the idea of it all going off to help people with young kids / babies.

I feel strangely OK so far about the EDD - perhaps the build-up was worse than the event ? I'm even managing to concentrate on work better this morning than I have all week

Looking forward to getting my work done, then going for a walk in the sunshine later

iggypiggy · 29/05/2009 10:05

Will catch up with all these posts later - very chatty everyone!

Just v. quick post to say:

Yay for you annie - excellent news!

Jools we all here for you today - hope it is not too awful xx

waves waves waves at everyone xxx

cupofteaplease · 29/05/2009 10:08

Hi-haven't had a chance to read all posts yet- so I'll just say a big hello and hugs all round to those who need them...

Just wanted to spread the news...

AF arrived last night

So the world of TTC is my oyster now! Can anyone tell me if their cycle returned to normal length after first AF post MC? I'm not sure when I will be ovulating this month after all the upset?

Have a great day and enjoy the sunshine!

VJaybigpants · 29/05/2009 10:15

Wow it's hot up here today, I'm staying in the shade trying to keep cool
jools thinking of you today xxxxxxxx
Welcome becks you're in the right place for heaps of support

Right off to strip the beds now seeing as it's so nice!

Joolsiam · 29/05/2009 10:19

Good news Cupoftea

Both times for me, the first cycle has been slightly longer as ovulation happened on day 18 the first time rather than 14 - the time after ovulation (luteal phase) remained the same as before though ...

Are you going to temp / use OPK's ? I just go by CM and can feel ovulation, which has proven to be quite a handy thing in the TTC stakes

bluesatinsash · 29/05/2009 10:24

Vjay - can you send some sun down to me please!

Annie - fantastic news, utterly over the moon for you - let the good times roll .

Jools will be thinking about you all day.

Mermaid and *4ever - I was so upset reading your posts yeterday. You are two of the strongest women I've ever 'met' and if there is any justice in this world, you will both get your over due and longed for little ones. You have to believe, as MLS says without hope we have nothing.

to all x

mermaidspurse · 29/05/2009 11:13

blue dear of you you always make me feel better. I am so sorry you have been feeling so sick. Is it easing up a wee bit yet? Was also worried to hear that mm had been in hospital with sickness, hope she is feeling better too.xx

annie that is brill after all these weeks of worry for you. I hope you manage to ease into enjoying it all a bit now.x

jools dearest fantastically toned and mellow lady. An especial hello for you today. No matter how we approach such anniversaries it is always bitter and you have been unbelievably strong. A bottle of that nice wine tonight don't you reckon?

4ever Think we need to stomp on some sand castles Thinking of you heaps.xx

sabs blimey your poor bean you must remember you are not on a dodgem ride young lady. Ace about the maternity leave though.

barbie reading of your sad journey through Dubai all upset made me so sad for your whole situation at the minute. I hope you managed to have a nice celebration for your first anniversary though. just keep pulling those duvet days

cupoftea hooray for your af, its nice to get back to a bit of 'normality'

neeko hopefully you are finishing up your marking in the garden

gracie glad your poor overworked dh is coming home, have a lovely weekend.

welcomes becky mls hope you are going nice and easy with lots of relaxing.

It is beautiful here today ds is going to the beach with aunties. I am sunbathing working.

cupcakefairy · 29/05/2009 11:18

blue you are absolutely right- hope is the absolute key in all of this, and 4ever, we know you have plenty of that from your name! hope you girls are feeling a little better today.

cupoftea YAY for af finally showing her face!! I know it is a huge relief so v pleased for you. This is my first cycle post-af but so far it's looking quite normal..my temp started to rise this morning which is about the right time.

Neeko and Gracie yay for DHs coming home! Hope you both have a lovely weekend. Gracie hope you're not going too mad, the wait is nearly over!!

I'm still all smiley cos of annie's news ...and hopefully in 3 weeks we'll have even more big-pants ladies with moon and scorpio coming up to graduation

Neeko · 29/05/2009 11:27

Jools and Cupoftea My cycle used to be 28 days on the button but now seems to be 30. Looks like you have a head start Jools Glad that you are coping today.

mermaid actually finished marking on Sunday I'm that good! At work though, so no garden for me!

Big waves to the rest of you.

barbie1 · 29/05/2009 14:06

I will be back to finish my post later, off to the dubai mall for ideas for dh 30th birthday in a few weeks....

ps gracie how much was the postage???

4ever im sending you a massive hug, just cos you are fab and i want too xxx

GracieGirl · 29/05/2009 14:06

CupofTea My cycle used to average 32 days. Since my miscarriage I've had 27, 29 and 30 day cycles. I've been using Ovulation kits and can tell from cervical mucus whether I've ovulated.

Cupcake Still going slightly mad but feeling more cheerful that yesterday. Trying not to symptom spot but can't help it! My abdomen feels odd and I've been carrying boxes this morning on one side cos didn't want them leaning against my abdomen. Is that a symptom?? Being over protective of my abdomen? When I was pregnant before I couldn't sleep unless I had a pillow over my tummy, even at 4 weeks. Maybe I'm just a freak!

cupcakefairy · 29/05/2009 16:17

Love it gracie...that's def a new symptom... 'abdomen protectiveness'. I'll look out for it in a couple of weeks fingers crossed for you!!

GracieGirl · 29/05/2009 16:25

Barbie I really wasn't as embarrassed as the men in the post office! I thought it was funny! Postage was only £2 (the tests are pretty tiny).

SabsBigPants · 29/05/2009 20:56

hellooooo, anyone in?

jools hope today went ok for you....

Neeko · 29/05/2009 21:07

Hi Sabs how are you today?

cupcakefairy · 29/05/2009 21:08

Wow it is quiet tonight... Hi sabs

I am waiting for my DH to get home from a work do...maybe I should call the bar they're at and tell them to send him home, I'm ovulating!!
Or maybe I'll just go watch more West Wing...

SabsBigPants · 29/05/2009 21:12

hey neeko and cupcakefairy

feeling quite tired today and wondering if I should just go to sleep, but its still light outside was at work till quite late, and then without any warning, all the power went, so lost what i was working on, so just decided it was a sign i should not be there! Just had to walk down 11 flights of stairs as the lifts werent working either

How has your day been ladies? enjoying the sunshine?

cupcake your DH needs to get home!!! Sending you some babydust....

Neeko · 29/05/2009 21:13

Oh Cupcake how exciting!

I'm hoping for a more productive cyle this time. As you know I temped last month and there was a rise but very slight. Now my period is very light, really just heavy spotting IYKWIM, so now I'm wondering if I had an anovulatory cycle and if that would make my period so light? You're the expert. What do you think? (It'll keep your mind off clockwatching for 5 mins )

Neeko · 29/05/2009 21:14

Sabs pg ladies do not need to wait for nightfall. Won't be long til you will be willing to sleep at noon if only the baby will let you

cupcakefairy · 29/05/2009 21:17

Neeko that does sound likely; to be honest I was surprised you weren't pg this month with all the bding! I don't know if anovulatory cycles make for lighter periods though...let me go get my NFP bible

Neeko · 29/05/2009 21:22

There's an NFP bible?

cupcakefairy · 29/05/2009 21:38

It's not really called that! I just refer to it as that...it is a huge text book! DH and I have only read 1st few chapters cos the rest is for complicated issues like this one!

Ok, I will attempt to explain.
Basically, light bleeding or bloody discharge around your time of cycle could either be an anovulatory cycle, or breakthrough bleeding. Breakthrough bleeding can happen mid-cycle and when af is supposed to come after miscarriage (by the way MLS, that's prob what your day 21 bleeds were as well, quite normal apparently.)

The way you can tell it's an anovulatory cycle is if there isn't a noticeable thermal shift before it (which is what you thought...but without other charts to compare it to I guess it is hard to say.) and if you get 'dry days' (ie no mucus) after it (which is what should happen on a normal cycle straight after af)

If it's breakthrough bleeding, you will get more mucus straight after it, and that actually means you could still be fertile right now...so you might want to have another go just incase

Hope that made some kind of sense...and thanks,it did distract me!
