mrskate hope you feel better soon xxx
annie I do still ise my doppler, but not as much now, i tend to use it if I haven't felt a kick for a while.

cupcakefairy · 05/06/2009 11:30

Girls! Look at what DH just emailed me; it is quite fascinating-

My fellow little pants ladies- let's start making figgy pudding for our DHs!!

Also, Moon I am thinking about you loads too... I know you must be having a really horrible, dark week and I really hope you are getting some sleep, and some tiny flickers of hope for the future. Can't wait til you are ready to be onwards and upwards with us xxx

By the way, I found another teeny tiny little silver lining to my mc cloud today...we have just bought Muse tickets for November; have wanted to see them live for so long...and I wouldn't have been able to go if I had a 10 day old bubba! (obviously I'd rather have my lo than a Muse ticket...but small things...)

anniebigpants · 05/06/2009 11:34

Barbie-You should get your temp filling replaced for free, thats what they do in the Dental Practice i work at. Im thankful that i dont have to pay for dental treatment and neither does DH-perks of the job

Gracie dont know what to suggest about your trapped wind im afraid, hope some other wise ladies here will be able to suggest something.

cupcake-Aw thanks for your kind words about the loss of my parents, thankfully i have my wonderful DH who is my rock and we are a team and take everything in our stride. We have been through so much in the 8 years we have been together and i would be lost without him.

Morning Curly-i bet you are walking round with a big grin on your face, are you still on a high after your BFP?

Forget to mention earlier, i have my date through for my 20 week scan, its 3 days before my holidays, its on 8th July and i,ll be 19+2, so just over 4 weeks to go.

anniebigpants · 05/06/2009 11:37

Morning VJay-Hope you're well today, hope you have better weather up there than we have here, its tipping it down and cold, think will have to take DS to softplay as he has cabin fever being cooped up for more than a few hours!

VJaybigpants · 05/06/2009 11:46

Hi annie It was nice up here, so I put out my washing, then had a massive rain storm, but now it's nice again, I can't keep up with the weather up here! Hope your ds has fun at the soft play, and atleast you can relax with a cuppa

Curlywurlee · 05/06/2009 11:51

Morning annie yes I am still grinning though I truly do understand the concept of knickerchecking now!! I can't believe you have your 20 week scan in a months time. When did you start showing?

cupcake I loved the link. Though I loved the comments below it even more. My absolute favourite is "God u r da bomb!"

Curlywurlee · 05/06/2009 11:52

What is soft play VJ?? I'm picturing marshmallows

anniebigpants · 05/06/2009 11:56

Curly- i started showing past couple of weeks i would say, still think i look fat rather than pregnant but tummy is starting to get harder. Ive had a tummy really since having DS, its just bigger now

anniebigpants · 05/06/2009 11:59

Tis' a terrible place you must suffer when your DC is old enough to go, they can throw themselves around and leap off and on to padded surfaces. Full of hyper children shouting at the top of their voices, best part of it is i can sit and have a drink and let DS burn off some steam for an hour or two.

cupcakefairy · 05/06/2009 12:13

Haha curly I didn't see that comment, that is hilarious

Curlywurlee · 05/06/2009 12:30

Wow Annie do they have an adult version???

I'm still laughing at your figgy pudding too cupcake

iggypiggy · 05/06/2009 12:42

mermaidspurse · 05/06/2009 12:44

moon hope you are sitting in the sun with a nice cold glass of something with an umbrella, swizzle stick and some of that nice encrusted suggary stuff ound the rim of the glass. It will be ok, desn't feel like it ever will be I know but the sun will come out again I promise you.xxxx

ok I've forgotten loads of lovely ladies, but have to go cos have gov meeting at school, yukky have to be serious, cover cleavage and look lke you know what all the akcronyms are and i can't even spell that.

bluesatinsash · 05/06/2009 12:50

curly - I'm still beaming for you . Ah, knicker checking and pad patrolling, yes its a whole other world of paranoia... Hope yours remains fruitless .

Annie - great news on your scan and its only 4 weeks 'til your 20 week one! DS's party is at softplayhell tomorrow - cue lots of 3 year olds high on fruit shoots flinging themselves on each other.

Loved the link cupcake - nature's fruit indeed .

barbie - hope you and DH are enjoying the sun and your new hairdo - don't get it all sweaty now .

Jools lol at your crazy 80's perm reference - the image of Carol Decker from T'Pau popped into my head for some reason . I was the backcombing queen of High School, held in place with VO5 extra strong hold. Good luck for operation get me up the duff tonight.

Gracie - can't you get an early appointment as you're an NHS member of staff?? We get so few fringe benefits, getting a scan should be a no brainer surely ?

Vjay - you saucy mare .

Sabs - 24 weeks - wow! And great plan to move back with your Mum, it should be offered to us all! My Mum lives 5 mins away and I would often walk round to her's when DS was fretful/crying or if I just needed a hug/sleep - the early weeks are so tough.

Neeko - what happened on last week's Grey's? (the one where Derek came back to work and Izzy started her treatment). My sky+ only taped 15 mins worth - grrr.

to all x

bluesatinsash · 05/06/2009 12:54

Sorry MLS - x-post. Get that polo neck on for your school meeting and sensible shoes too.

VJaybigpants · 05/06/2009 12:57

blue I'm not saucy just hormonal
mermaid I'm going to have another minimilk in a mo, and once baby is here I'm going to try barbies minimilk diet

cupcakefairy · 05/06/2009 13:27

gracie have you tried wind-eze? I think you can take them when pregnant... I have taken them before with trapped wind, does help.

Curlywurlee · 05/06/2009 13:31

Mermaid I think you should wear popsocks with your sensible shoes

blue Does DS know yet? Hope he has a lovely birthday party tomorrow I remember him from that news report you were on aaaaaaages ago... totally adorable

iggy we didn't even bd at the right time this month, as DH was away. We BD'd the day I got the strong line, then he left... so I really didn't think it was going to happen. We have got so focussed on just doing the do when I'm ovulating, I don't think we'd have bothered on day 12 if I hadn't done the opk . Fingers toes and everything crossed for you!!

VJ any more thoughts on your birth plan?

Curlywurlee · 05/06/2009 13:33

gracie I keep forgetting to post this. I find mint tea really good for trapped wind, maybe you could get a little kettle beside your bed?

VJaybigpants · 05/06/2009 13:44

curly no not yet, I think I will just keep it very simple. I've got to tell the mw's that I might not be having a birthing partner yet. It all depends when I go into labour, DH may have to look after DS, but I don't mind. Dh is more bothered about it than me

bluesatinsash · 05/06/2009 13:55

Sorry Mermaid - got my 'M's' muddled there . lol at ackronyms...

Curly - not telling DS any time soon - my supersticious tempting fate paranoia couldn't cope with him knowing just now! He knows something's afoot tho' as I've had lots of appointments for "Mummy's sore tummy" and been throwing up around him for weeks now - wee lamb. Can't believe 3 years ago today I was timing contractions and wondering if I was going to avoid a birthdate of 6/6/6 - (we didn't ). You have it all to come .

God, today is draaaaging.

Curlywurlee · 05/06/2009 14:36

Yep it sure is blue I've got to stay away from google and get back to studying

My mum didn't tell us kids about being pregnant with my little sister till she was 7 months and someone else let it slip. We hadn't a clue and I think I was about 7 at the time!!!

MummyLovesSadie · 05/06/2009 15:33

Hello all

Well my dh came back this morning and as predicted he has not mentioned once the fact that I'm pregnant which makes me sad. I showed him my positive hpt & all he said was 'uh-huh'. It makes me feel like I'm not allowed to talk to him about it & I can't get excited about it with him.

Oh well what can I do? I'll be back tonight when I've read all of your (zillions of!) posts.

OP posts:
Joolsiam · 05/06/2009 15:37

MLS - my DP was the same recently - I am sure it is a male protection mechanism - don't talk about it and don't acknowledge it and maybe it won't hurt so much if something goes wrong ....

In fact, thinking about it, he was pretty much the same when I conceived in Sept, and I was really touched in Nov when he started talking about it more.

mermaidspurse · 05/06/2009 16:03

mls and jools mine always looks happy/sad/worried all in a big nervous nano second. They are plain scared, struggle to know what to say and worry about supporting us through good and bad - Maybe they need a mens emmsys. give him time mls big hug know its hard and you have had a shit week.xx
