Morning,
thanks annie neeko and kate I am looking forward to the scan, bit nervous too but that's just normal.

jools don't worry too much about the spotting, I had it from weeks 5 to 9, easier said than done not to worry, but mention it to the gp, oh you should me there now.

barbie good luck with this next interview, it's good to have the choice then as you say you can pick the best one for you.

mls sorry your body is messing you around a bit, speak to your gp again if you can.

Well I'm off to see the midwife later for my 22 week check up, taking ds with me as it's after school so that should be nice

anniecam38 · 21/04/2009 10:18

HI everyone
MLS Sorry AF got you, i would def go and see your GP and see if they can do anything/refer you on re short cycles.

Im feeling quite as rang EPU this morning to book myself in for a scan at 8 weeks for next week, nurse i spoke too says 'why do you want a scan, are you bleeding?' i replied no, i wasnt, so she says 'well im sorry, you cant have scan, only if either a, you are bleeding or b,you have had 3 consecutive mc,s'. I told her that the mw i saw when i had my loss in January (who is a senior mw by the way) said i could ring up and book a scan for when i was 8 weeks as reassurance. She replied ' well i dont know why she told you that' !!. I am a mixture of furious and very upset.
Ive rang my GP but she is busy in surgery till gone 12 and EPU will be closed then for today. Ive left a message via the receptionist to plead with her to get me my scan for next week.

Im sorry for the me me me post but i havent gone anyone else to whinge to at the minute.

Joolsiam · 21/04/2009 10:21

*Scorpio - my boobs have only just got a little tender in the last couple of days. They grew quite noticeably yesterday and I am rather proud of my cleavage this morning

As for the boxing - I went through with my GP exactly what exercise I do and she basically said that as long as I listen to my body - stop if I am overheating, too breathless or my abdomen feels uncomfortable, then I should carry on to the level I did before as long as I feel able - I slowed down last time and still MC'ed, then hated my fat, unfit body so I'm going to keep going this time for as long as I feel comfortable. I don't know what your Thai Boxing entails, but I'm sure if you speak to your instructor, he or she could discreetly let you know about any moves you shouldn't do. I have an info sheet one of my instructors gave me last time round that gives you alternative moves and pointers on what to avoid, so it was easy enough just to absorb that info and adjust my workout accordingly without relying on the instructor to remember to tell me

GP appt was OK - I burst into tears when talking about the last MC, which did encourage her to request a 7 - 8 wk scan for me. She did say the request might be refused, but we'll see ... She basically said that the chances of things going wrong again are quite low and there is nothing I can do, so there is little to be gained by worrying myself into a frenzy - easier said than done though !!

Thanks for the info on spotting Vjay I keep reminding myself I didn't spot at all last time - the MC was very sudden, so I can't really take spotting as a sign either way Looking forward to hearing the colour after your scan

SabsBigPants · 21/04/2009 10:23

morning all, hope everyones making the most of the sun!

scorpio ive added you on FB...any1 else feel free to add me on (after adding barbie on and going through her list of friends) About the boxing, i started aerobics classes a month before i conceived, but stopped when i got the BFP. I think the rule is if youve been exercising for a while before conceiving, then its fine to carry on. I didnt think the month was long enough, plus DH wrapped lots of cotton wool, plus bubble wrap all around me to "protect" me!...bless him....maybe jools might have better advice as she's the exercise queen on here! Hope GP grants you the scan at 7 weeks as its so reassuring to have it then.I was able to self-refer to my EPAU but i understand that isnt the case everywhere. BTW my boobs didnt get that sore either

jools i also had spotting from week 5 for a few weeks...its freaked me out too, but it turned out to be fine....sending lots of positive thoughts your way.

vjay good luck at the midwife and im so excited about your scan too, though i can understand your nervousness too. My 20 week scan is on 12th may, so exactly 3 weeks time!

MLS sorry to hear TEW got you....sending you baby dust to store for next month

neeko work hey, damn them! i have to go back to work on friday and not looking forward to it at all. I have contacted HR and my senior manager to find out if any changes will be made for when i go back or not. Havent heard back from them....

barbie how did it go at the nail spa interview today?? its like waiting for the buses hey! good luck whatever you decide hun

kate good to hear your hen night went well...how long now till the big day?

grace what did you decide about driving over today to see DH? nothing wrong with practising

sabs waves to LBM anniecam mm, scamper wherever you are and any1 else ive missed

Well i made the most of the sun yesterday and spent lots of time in the garden...even managed to get net access from there...will be going out again today, but only to do food shopping and maternity clothes shopping

Joolsiam · 21/04/2009 10:24

x posts Annie - I'd be furious aswell If my request gets refused, I think I'll go privately - can't bear to wait till 12 weeks again, thinking I'm PG and making plans

Any chance you could speak to the MW who said you could have a scan ?

SabsBigPants · 21/04/2009 10:34

sorry for x-post

annie to hear that! we're here to listen...hope you get through to the GP and they can arrange the scan

jools hope you're able to get the scan too...

anniecam38 · 21/04/2009 10:57

My lovely GP has just rang me and was very sympathetic and says she will ring the EPU today for me and tell them she strongly recommends i have a 8 wk scan, then ring me back with the time and date, i could have cried with relief. Just got to wait for her to ring me back now.

Jools-Hope you have less trouble than this sorting your early scan out!!

SabsBigPants · 21/04/2009 10:58

sounds like you have a good GP anniecam makes a world of difference...hope you hear pretty soon...

4everhopeful · 21/04/2009 11:44

Hey Annie at your EPU! Why the postcode lottery huh? Its just not fair, I'm thankfully blessed with my EPU & have the same nurse whos become a real friend, let me in for weekly scans pushed the extra mile for erpc's/referral to fetal meds etc & has been a sweetheart with my last 4.. So glad you have a good GP that will push for you!

Anyway - sneaky post whilst working - just checked the weather on BBC site & been wondering about the TV prog on BBC2, Thurs at 9pm 'Proffesor Regan... ' (forget the title!) shes investigated the beauty business last week & the pharmacy business this week, but it is our one and the same Lesley Regan MC specialist extraordinaire! Thurs is 2 of 4 so dont know if MC is even mentioned but thought Id share that with you all!

at all of you enjoying the sun while Im at work!!!! Roll on 4pm!!!

Will pop back at lunch & try & catch up with you all! xxxxxxxxxxxxx

bluesatinsash · 21/04/2009 12:39

oh Annie - at your EPU, that's simply outrageous. Do they not know how fragile and terrified you are post mc and that you could lie and say you had been bleeding (unless they demand proof of that too ). I hope your GP gives them what for. God this makes me so angry....

Our EPU is self referral and totally understand the anxieties of pg post mc, getting an early scan is a given as it should be EVERYWHERE .

Jools - good to hear your hopefully getting one after your visit to the GP.

MLS - you need to get yourself off to the docs.

Hi sabs - good to hear from you!

Check you barbie - with the numerous job offers - head hunted indeed .

I'm feeling floored today. Don't know if its the pg hormones or come down from last week but I'm terrified and anxious and having thoughts like "if I'm going to mc, can it be sooner rather than later this time". Its such a bloody rollarcoaster and today I just don't have the energy for it.

mermaidspurse · 21/04/2009 12:45

blue big hug - sodding hormones, they get you when you are, they get you when you're not and they get you in between

scorpiobig gold star for you.x

waves and stomps back to RL. yep it must be pmt

MummyLovesSadie · 21/04/2009 13:07

Thanks for the advice everyone. It's not af exactly, it's heavy spotting - blood on toilet paper but not on a pad & it happens EVERY month. Incidentally it has stopped now but will probably be back tomorrow. Will definitely call the docs. There is still a chance for bfp for me this month but think I will go on to mc like I did in Jan. I'm so frustrated as I know my doctor will say it's just my body getting back to normal but it has been happening for 15 months now.

VJaybigpants · 21/04/2009 13:17

annie can you ring the midwife you spoke to in January and see if she can sort it out for you?
sabs what sun????It's teemimg down up here!
jools I do hope you get your reassurance san xx
blue where's all your zen like feelings gone??? You are the calm one on here

VJaybigpants · 21/04/2009 13:18

scan not san jools

Joolsiam · 21/04/2009 13:26

Blue - you've seen how many mini meltdowns I've had so far, and I'm only just in front of you I think - it shows these things must go in a pattern - you'll have a good day tomorrow

My boobs are starting to really hurt now (5+2) - DP has noticed the cleavage

bluesatinsash · 21/04/2009 14:04

Thanks guys. My Mum has just popped round so I told her my news - cue me fretting and crying and Mum giving me a big hug . Keeping it a secret is stressful in itself - arrgh! Not telling anyone else tho' but glad I told her.

I'm off to adopt the lotus position and do some chanting .

Joolsiam · 21/04/2009 14:30

I really really want to tell my mum too - but she refused to be cautious last time - told some of our relatives in NZ and was so excited - the day of the MC was the day of my 12 week scan and I phoned when it all started - couldn't get hold of her and didn't want to leave a message, so the first she heard of it was when my DP phoned that night - she thought I was phoning to tell her about the scan That must have been so horrible, I want to spare her this time, but I want to tell her aswell

Beautiful sunshine in Hertfordshire - I am working from home and just tidying up the last of the Easter choc that was in the house

MummyLovesSadie · 21/04/2009 15:15

Jools by 'tidying up' do you mean scoffing it?

It's beautiful down here in Surrey too. Managed to get 20 mins on the hammock in-between planting some veg & getting dd down for her nap.

Joolsiam · 21/04/2009 15:35

Feel sick now - choccie overdose !!

Well, now it has gone, healthy eating can resume tomorrow

barbie1 · 21/04/2009 16:26

Im back
what an epic few hours! think i will be offered the job but im all confuzzled at which one to take if i do!

jools i wish i had chocolate in the house, im craving it....just finished the gym so its typical that i should want something so bad!

blue aw bless you telling your mum and getting upset, big hug from me, the wobbles are normal. God help you all when i get a bfp

vjay how was your check up, roll on sat......

mls have you booked a doc appointment yet?

scorpio listen to your body! be careful nobody aims for your belly cant you take up body combat ie the non contact sport for a while?

mollie and mm where did you disappear to girlies?

mermaid how is your pmt love? still stomping around?

So today is day 12 for me or is it 13? any how i have very thick creamy white discharge (tmi, sorry) and sensitive boobies....a sign of ovulation right? i have no idea about all the cm stuff so need the brains of this thread to enlighten me!

OP posts:
barbie1 · 21/04/2009 16:27

anniecam did you get it all sorted for you, cant you say you have been having cramps or something?

OP posts:
GracieGirl · 21/04/2009 16:32

Annie - its rubbish isn't it! How some gat get extra scans and others can't. Liek Barbie said - it just encourages us to lie and say we had cramps!

barbie you are in demand with all these jobs!! The creamy stuff is usually just before ovulation, it goes stringy like egg white during ovulation. you could alway BD anyway just in case!

Joolsiam · 21/04/2009 16:33

Creamy CM post ov was the first sign to me that I might be PG - on 2DPO !!!

I'm doing things the other way round Barbie - am off to the gym soon to work off the choc I feel massive today - well and truly bloated.

First PG brain moment - I filled in my maternity exemption form at the GP's this morning and forgot to sign it, so they left me a message and I've got to trek back there !! Can't they just sign for me

GracieGirl · 21/04/2009 16:33

I really need to start proof reading my posts again! That made no sense!

anniecam38 · 21/04/2009 17:05

Gah!!! I ve got myself worked into such a state, im going to end up having a breakdown.
My GP called me back at lunchtime and said basically she had spoke to the EPU and told them she thinks i would benefit from having reassurance scan, also that i had been told by a seniot member of their staff that i could have the scan and they still said NO!!.
She told me she would book me in if i could go to the GP surgery for 3.15 today and see the midwife and she would get me a scan. I duly trotted down to see the midwife, who was very confused as to why i was there, and after i explained my sorry tale said "i dont know why Dr X told you we would be able to refer you for an early scan, we can only send you if you have been bleeding"
The midwife did my booking in while i was there, and said hopefulli i should get my dating scan through for 11 weeks, but that is still too long to wait.

I feel like ringing up next week and say ive now got bleeding, but feel guilty as that may deprive some lady who is bleeding/mc,ing of a slot.

Im probably going to book a private scan , ive got no other choice. Ive been in tears all afternoon
