babyinacorner · 16/04/2009 11:46

Hi all - thanks for all your lovely words. I'm going to write a detailed post tonight when I have time. I'm dashing out now i'm afraid!

mermaidspurse · 16/04/2009 11:47

kate I had dreadful morning sickness on my honeymoon and did no dancing at all. Think we had better stop now sabs

monkeybumsmum · 16/04/2009 11:53

Oooh yes blue how did you guess? It's a wonder I get anything done

Kate Sorry to hear about the BFN, but as the others say you can have lots of fun - AND you're getting married? Congratulations (Bit slow me...)
Where are you going on honeymoon? We went away in Feb, and I thought I was pg, and so abstained from doing wonderful things like hammams. massages. riding on camels etc, and now am gutted that I missed out!
Easter egg sounds yummy

kate030284 · 16/04/2009 11:54

oh really not a great honeymoon in that respect

4everhopeful · 16/04/2009 14:10

Hello again my chattering lovelys!

Sorry to hear your BFN Kate but roll on the skydiving, crazy antics on honeymoon, lotsa gourmet BD, drunkeness, soft cheese, pate & coffee! AF got me the day after our wedding so went off on honeymoon with a bag full of tampax! Luckily we were away for 2 weeks and she only lasted a few days! Thank god we were ok for our wedding night tho!

Big waves to monkey mermaid sabs & baby

I spoke to the Portland secretary & have booked our apt for treatment on the 1st May! I also asked what if I was accidentally already PG & apparently you can still have the treatment up to 6weeks! YEA! I will still avoid BD for next few days but at least I wont be panicing about it now!

Monkey Course you can ask! If this helps someone else have a chance of happiness I'd be overjoyed!! I'm having LIT (Lymphocyte Immunotherapy Treatment) see www.sharedjourney.com/define/lad.htmlBasically my immune not creating antibodys to protect the fetus so DH cells seen as foreign object & my leukocyte cells attack fetus . I had 4 recurrent mc now & no NHS test found a cause, this was a last ditch attempt & turns out I have it.. Its only the Portland that does it & will cost about £1300 but worth every penny if it works!

kate030284 · 16/04/2009 14:16

thanks 4ever

mermaidspurse · 16/04/2009 14:17

but have you been to the loo yet with hetty and henry?

well at least you being naughty is ok. will still be sending you a virtual needlepoint kit though. Have a good afternoon.x

4everhopeful · 16/04/2009 14:17

Ooh my link didnt work - this article sums it up more Monkey! ARTICLE

monkeybumsmum · 16/04/2009 14:20

Wow 4ever That's amazing that you've managed to find out what caused your losses, but for you to have to go through 4 mc's along the way is so sad. I really hope the treatment works for you. With it being so specific is it usually effective?
I'd never even heard of this, is definately worth mentioning next time I go to see someone over here. Do you know if it can develop after having a baby, or would having had a successful pregnancy in the past exclude me from this being a possibility? Have had 4 mc's now since ds was born (although were 2 cp's). Am willing to explore every avenue!

4everhopeful · 16/04/2009 14:22

No Hetty & Henry are under my desk hiding, & Barbies list is printed out & in my pocket! But, I couldnt get out at lunch so still dont have a test! Will get one after work!

Looking forward to needlepoint then!!! 4ever the naughty schoolgirl skulks back to work!

monkeybumsmum · 16/04/2009 14:22

Amazing article, am close to tears
Thanks x

4everhopeful · 16/04/2009 14:29

Check it out monkey! I thought you'd had 4 too, its awful to go through isnt it? I'll give you any info you need... Its apparently 75% success rate tho the doc was quite firm that 'its not a definate, its a maybe'.. I think you actually have to of been PG for these antibodys to develop(?) I'm still researching myself & most of what I know Iv just googled, check LAD or LIT, and as said only Portland do it in the UK... I really would love if that was your answer to all this - mermaid too... I'm sorry but 4mc in a row is not bloody bad luck, there must be a reason, I pray for all of us we may have found it!

4everhopeful · 16/04/2009 14:33

x post - Ahh monkey sweetie, I had that reaction too, it was like a lightbulb going on reading it.. My MIL gave me that article just after losing no 3 & couldnt bear to read it, that was nearly a year ago now... Look up Dr Paul Armstrong at The Portland.. The test/consultaion is £440, treatment is £850.. I'm excited for you too - would be so happy if you get an answer too (& mermaid?!?)

kate030284 · 16/04/2009 14:49

just had a bit of a crying sesion dont know why im just really annoyed lots of pople have cancelled 4 my hen nite with 2 days to go and ive paid for them to go so im out of pocket and realise my friends arent as great as i thought they were. i think i am a bit upset on my bfn this mornig aswell .

monkeybumsmum · 16/04/2009 14:55

Ah 4ever you are lovely, and you really deserve a happy ending after all you've been through. I do feel very excited now, am clinging onto anything that gives me hope
Have found a guy over here who specialises in recurrent mc's and after doing some research I shall mention it when I go to see him. DH thinks we should wait a few more months before going to see anyone else - the last guy gave me baby aspirin and progesterone supplements, and I then went on to have the two cp's. Needless to say, I have stopped taking anything!
Right, am off to do some googling... See ya later x

mermaidspurse · 16/04/2009 14:59

that is just bloody nasty. ahh kate you poor thing that is the biggest kick in the teeth. Have you told them you have paid already?
I am sending you such a big hug.xx

monkeybumsmum · 16/04/2009 15:00

Kate x posts, you poor thing. Some people are just crap. However many people go, you will still have a wonderful time, and will be surrounded by those that love you most. It's bound to be emotional at the moment with so much going on. Have a good cry, let it all out, and then go and have a fab time with the girls that do come along. Don't let the others ruin what will be a special and probably very memorable occasion

mermaidspurse · 16/04/2009 15:23

monkey BANG no I dont think you are
am I right in thinking you are not in the uk?
I get confused easily.
kate honey I hope you are ok, your blinking hormones are going to be everywhere at the minute and I think getting married apart from very exiting is also a bit stressful, so just be really kind and gentle on yourself. Your time will so come

Joolsiam · 16/04/2009 15:27

Off to get my train home from sunny Wales a whole hour earlier than planned

be good girls (Kate - watch out for that Mermaid - she is a bad influence )

Should be home by 8 - ish so will look in on you later

Need to stop off at the station cafe - am famished again !!!

monkeybumsmum · 16/04/2009 15:39

mermaid am giggling now... You did actually give me a shock, just as well am not up the duff
Am not in UK so is as you thought- am in Belgium...

Safe journey Jools

OP posts:
mermaidspurse · 16/04/2009 16:50

yes I know but she could sky dive if she wants to now without worrying. In fact maybe thats the next thing we should all try girls? The emmsy's sky diving team... going to have to get those big pants on quickly so I don't have to do it though!
