VJaybigpants · 02/04/2009 11:23

Hi you chatty lot and welcome to you new lovely ladies, glad you feel ready to move on and this thread is the best for that.

Well I'm off to York tomorrow so will catch up with you all when I get back. Have a fab weekend everyone xxxxx

MummyLovesSadie · 02/04/2009 12:09

Blue have fun tonight .

I too often don't get a positive opk - just a faint second line which I'm led to believe is a neg result. This is why I started taking my temp every day which I've found much more reliable.

4everhopeful · 02/04/2009 13:24

Aw shucks thanks barbie & mermaid! Was last year I did 5k & another in 2006, its the best buzz! I would be doing one each year if wasnt permanently on the 2ww!

So mermaid we are cycle buddies! Shes not quite here yet but really do expect her today!

MLS you made me feel better about my bin raiding with your obsessional test collecting writing storing thing! What does this mc/ttc malarky actually do to our brains eh?!?

Blue Happy anniversary to you and DH sweetheart! Have a great night tonight & fingers crossed for some productive bd! His swimmers live for 3 days so still ok if no ov yet!

Vjaybigpants have a lovely chilled weekend in York!

Actually posted about 10.30am before I went off to a training course & for some reason never appeared?! Ho Hum? Maybe we have gremlins in the system what with barbies flip view thing, I do find it a bit tempremental sometimes! (just like us!) LOL xxxx

4everhopeful · 02/04/2009 16:02

Still no AF? Always used to be 28 days on the dot, right up to last mc. Had last erpc on 30th Jan, first AF 3rd March. That was 32 days. So I spose 32 days after 3rd March would be 4th April? My first 3 mc my AF came literally 28 days after erpc.
That meant the whole 'when am I ovulating?' thing was just count back 14 days from next due date and get busy, if my cycles going all funny might have to start temping etc?

littlebellsmum · 02/04/2009 20:50

Hello ladies and thanks for the lovely welcome.
No my jobs not intense but seems to be more and more baby related everyday! The mentoring thing is normally quite nice - obviously when I started doing it, I wsn't planning dc3, hadn't had a mc and wasn't ttc dc3, so it was lovely talking to people about to go on maternity leave about all the lovely , lovely things about having babies. Now, however, I want to punch most of them!! One of my mentees had her dc1 on Tuesday , lovely but and another has a 6 month old and is thinking about coming back to work and could I go and talk to her?

And I'm with Gracie - I'm having a couple of drinks untill I get a bfp and then it's on the wagon for me... But untill then, life can't go on hold and I'm sure the gin will go off if I leave it too long!! Enjoy your night out, Barbie!

MummyLovesSadie · 02/04/2009 21:17

4ever before having dd in Oct 07 my cycle was 28 days on the dot with af lasting 3 days.

Since af returned last year I've been between 9-14 days af, with pre-af spotting starting on day 21 - very confusing & annoying. My cycle has been between 27-33 days since then. I have come to the conclusion that pregnancy totally f*s with your body.

Honestly I can't recommend temping enough, I would have pulled out all of my hair without it. It really helps you recognise patterns in your cycle that otherwise you would not have known about. It also lets you consolidate all of your info (cervical position & mucous, temperature, opk results, whether you had sex & hpt results) all one one document. If you like a spreadsheet (like me!) you will really enjoy doing it. It certainly gives you something else to study & preoccupy your time & it actually is something that is proactive rather than just obsessive & time wasting.

Did you get the link to the charts I print out & use a few posts back?

MummyLovesSadie · 02/04/2009 21:42

littlebells & all others regarding sobriety... my story, I didn't find out I was expecting my dd (in '07) until af was a week late.

I was getting massive af pains a week before af was due so was convinced it was on its way. Was taking masses of Neurofen to relieve pain. When af was due I had the most awful shock, grief & distress of my eldest sister unexpectedly & suddenly dying. As you can imagine it was the most terrible emotional time (not the best time to be pregnant if only I had known I was). I also turned to alcohol to numb the pain as it really helped.

A week after af was due I did a hpt test, I hadn't really thought about being late as I was in the depths of grief & when I realised I was late I assumed it was because I was in such an emotional state. I was completely knocked off my feet to see a bfp. Could not believe it had happened at such a time. Was in pieces about my big sis, the one I had always looked up to my whole life & had never expected to disappear without me being able to say goodbye to, far too young. Was also overjoyed about being pregnant, what a happy/sad/upset/overjoyed mess I was. Of course I stopped drinking then, it must have been about 6 weeks into pregnancy.

Anyway I'm now Mummy to my most wonderful beautiful darling daughter who's pictures I've proudly posted on Mumsnet. We called her Sadie which is a derivative of Sara - my sister's name.

anniecam38 · 02/04/2009 21:44

Are you planning to get an early scan?

Ok, I'm off to catch up... back soon

Joolsiam · 03/04/2009 08:48

Hello Anniecam - fabulous news Fingers and toes crossed for the 12 week wait

Welcome also to LittleBellsMum Barbie - I'm sure I've read somewhere that moderate drinking is fine during the 2WW as the bean is using its own supplies rather than taking nourishment from the "host"

MLS - what a sad story ...

Am on the 2WW still - it seems to be neverending ! Now on 6DPO and spotting imagining symptoms already

4everhopeful · 03/04/2009 09:09

Congratulations Annie thats fantastic news! Your bound to be on a rollercoaster of joy & fear - we will all hold your hand on the 12 8ww! (See not that long really as you must be 4w already! )

Hugs to mls so sorry to hear about your sis, I bet your dd means the absolute world to you & must of helped with the grieving process a little... My big bro died from cancer years ago now so know what a loss losing a sibling is...

Thanks MLS for all the ov advice! (def give this woman a white coat!) Big wave to my cycle buddy mermaid!

Well SHE (AF!) is here finally! Actually had pain last night before she arrived this morning, so know its gonna be another painful one So that makes this cycle 31 days. Am def gonna have to get my head round ov testing now!

Joolsiam · 03/04/2009 10:21

Well Barbie, since you asked, and I need no encouraging

DPO = days past ovulation and, in theory, you shouldn't really see any symptoms until the second week of the two week wait.

1 - Creamy CM
2 - Insomnia where I'm wide awake from around 3am - have only had it like this before when I got the last BFP
3 - Ratty hair that just won't hang right - again something I noticed just before I got the last BFP
4 - Abdomen feels a little odd - very very mild cramping that I could easily be imagining and feels fuller / bloated ?
5 - I woke up this morning thinking I'd noticed an implantation bleed when I went to the loo in the early hours - however I'm not sure if it was a dream !! Maybe a prophesy
6 - Boobs not tender, but a bit larger and more sensitive - I just feel more aware of them ...

This is all probably nothing and I'm setting myself up to come crashing down

AF due April 11th, so another week of mental torture coming up !

mermaidspurse · 03/04/2009 10:56

jools I just love you my hair always looks ratty!! DPO that had me too, thanks barbie and hope you enjoy your party.

annie congratulations please rest lots be very gentle on yourself.x

4ever at last phew a bit of a relief in a way with your LIT tests coming back next week you can really focus on this new treatment.

mls its lovely that your dd arrived amongst so much pain. I am so sorry for your loss.x

hi littlebell hope you are ok, nearly time to escape for the weekend.

curly have a good weekend too sweetie
Well finally went to the drs and he is refering me back to the consultant.. yawn..hopefully he can fit me in between a round of golf.

mermaidspurse · 03/04/2009 10:58

ohh check out the bunnies!

GracieGirl · 03/04/2009 11:25

Morning all!

Its official I'm clumsy!! Last night I was reading this thread and needed something from downstairs, anyway I missed the top step and kind of fell/rolled/slid/crashed all the way to the bottom. Everything hurt and I felt dizzy so just picked myself up and went to bed. Slept fully dressed as couldn't lift up either arm or figure out a way of undoing my bra. (A&E is the last place I go when I'm injured as I work there!) Had I really restless night. I'm up now and everything vital seems to be working, though I do look like I've been fighting!
But it really hurts!!!!! Now for the really irritating part its day 29 and no AF, so I guess I can't take painkillers either!

Looking at Joolsiam's list I've got symptoms 1-4 on her list.

Joolsiam · 03/04/2009 11:30

Ouchie Graciegirl - sounds nasty and must have been a bit of a shock

You can take paracetamol I used to be sceptical and only ibuprofen worked, but since I stopped taking anything unless I desperately had to, Paracetamol seems to have an effect

4everhopeful · 03/04/2009 12:12

Ouch gracie! Hope your not too bruised! Arnica is great if you are! (think thats how its spelt). Paracetamol def ok if PG! Does that mean you could be? Have you done another test?

at your symptom list Jools! Fingers crossed for you, 1 week to go but oh thank god for early testing kits!

Miss mermaid so pleased you are getting back to the consultant after the f up last time. Get that militantmermaid hat dusted off & ready! So when did your AF actually arrive? Wouldnt it be great if we both get succesful PG at same time (4ever wistfully stares out the window daydreaming!) Does feel good to be on a new cycle with results coming up...

MummyLovesSadie · 03/04/2009 12:28

Ow GG that sounds awful, imagine if your dh came home from work to find you at the bottom of the stairs in a heap... not good!

Have everything crossed for both you & Jules - loving your symptom list btw! Perhaps it would be fun if we all do one when we are on 2WW?

Barbie I seem to remember you doing a list a while back with everyone's name & what stage they were at, we should do a new one.

Thanks everyone for your kind words.

I'm off to do some gardening & a sun-dance in the garden now!

Ta-raa xx

mermaidspurse · 03/04/2009 13:29

gracie ouch sending you a virtual plaster, arnica is very good, I agree.

4ever af arrived on april 1st, 2 days early, but like you I am no longer quite sure what sort of cycle I am on. We are all very close though.
At the Drs I had to stop myself saying things like 'but 4ever said' or my friend joolsthescientist* reckons' are these bunnies working yet? cool!

MummyLovesSadie · 03/04/2009 13:35

Jools bloody Oliver has had another baby girl. No doubt she will be blessed with heavenly beauty & fed on nothing but nourishing warm hearty food that has been plucked from the Oliver's organic 10 acre garden.

Lets hope she is not cursed with the fat tongue of her mockney-twat of a father, heehee!
