Ok, we did the deed on day 18 of my cycle. Dh withdrew before "you know what" and day 18 was after my egg-whitey mucus stuff.

But our children have been concieved very easily (first month of trying) so I'm well aware that I could be and as "It only take one" and we seem to be Mr&Mrs fertile the odds seem to swing towards a +ve rather than a -ve.

Did you concieve with the withdrawal method but after your usual time for ovulation (our 3 children were concieved between days 12-15 of my cycle).

I'll be going to the chemist after the school run so I will know for sure later today but wanted to do a quick poll to see how many have on here.

BTW I'm am a regular poster but don't want to bradcast my potential news just yet as a few RL people who know me use this site.

OP posts:
Hmmmmmmm · 12/04/2005 14:40

Hmmmmmmm · 12/04/2005 20:21

Does anyone know the answer, posted earlier today.

could they(the hcg levels) be too low for the test to read even with my AF being late though?

Sorry to keep going on, you're probably all bored silly with this.

Are you defo late?

Hmmmmmmm · 12/04/2005 20:29

Yep, was due on sunday.

Even if I was due in a few days I'd be getting sign now (like when i wipe down there) as it normally starts a couple of days before the real AF starts which is always on day 28.

AAAAAAAAAAArrrrgggghhhhhhhhhh!!!

OP posts:
Hmmmmmmm · 12/04/2005 20:29

not sure if that makes any sense at all

With my ds2 I had a false negative. I first tested three days late, but it didnt prove positive until a week late. Like you I have a very consistent cycle 28/29 days max. Anyhow the message behind all this is - I have a little man here to prove that false negatives do occur, even with first response!

Hmmmmmmm · 12/04/2005 20:43

I am sooooo confused

i have only ever been late when pregnant, but, i was almost two weeks late when ds2 was barely six months old and was still breastfeeding. it was supposed to be my second period after he was born. had a faint positiive. scan didnt show anything. bloodtest showed hcg level of 19. not pregnant is less than 1. pregnant is in the region of 1000. dont know what the units are.
basically was told it was probly a fertilised egg that didnt implant properly.
if you were only due on sunday, then best to wait till at least thursday before you test again.
hth

nailpolish · 12/04/2005 20:51

you need to forget about it til the weekend (hark at me AS IF)

then do another test

do what you are told!

Hmmmmmmm · 12/04/2005 20:59

Np, Ok ma'am

Isn't it a nightmare being a ridiculously impatient person in this situation.

Nemo1977 · 12/04/2005 21:20

hmmm it can be that the hcg levels are low
but is could also be stress etc. Last year i had 4mths with no af for no reason at all...dr said come back when it was 6...lol

wordsmith · 14/04/2005 11:48

Surely the answer to this is 'is the pope a Catholic?'

The withdrawal method is NOT a method of contraception!

Lottielou · 15/04/2005 16:03

I concieved using the withdrawal method. DP and I agreed to start TTC but were a little nervous about it. The first time we said we were going to stop using Condoms, he was nervous and pulled out. on that i became PG. unfortunately i lost the baby 2 weeks ago. But yes it is very very possible
Back to BD again tho!

Blu · 15/04/2005 16:15

Sorry, haven't read whole thread, so apols if this is a repeat:
Q.What do you call people who use the withdrawal method?
A. Parents!

Peckarollover · 15/04/2005 16:27

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I know you are - come on MSN will you?

Flossam · 16/04/2005 20:22

Any news??

happymerryberries · 16/04/2005 20:34

Yes you can, and no it isn't a form of contraception!!!

Sperm are released before the man ejaculates and it only takes one sperm.

In part it falis because before the man ejaculates the system is flushed out with a chemical that helps to nutralise his urine, and sperm could get carried along in this.

emmatmg · 16/04/2005 20:59

Sorry girls forgot to update this one....it's me, incase you hadn't already guessed. I'm very bad at being incognito.

Af arrived on thursday so the mystery is over, well some of it at least, would love to know why it was late in the first place.

DH was relieved but also talking loft conversions and baby names before AF arrived so it was nice while it lasted.

(sorry I missed you on MSN pecka)

emmatmg · 16/04/2005 21:01

Lottielou, just reda you post properly. Sorry about the little one, hope you have some good news again soon.
