Happy Birthday for yesterdat wasabi sounds like you had a lovely day and evening ;)

wasabipeanut · 12/02/2009 10:34

Thank you Kitty I have just been a bad girl and got my tests out.

Having a stash of cheapies is such a bad idea for me. Results as follows:

Normal pg test - BFN
Extra sensetive pg test 10 miu - BFP
OPK - positive

So....this would indicate that my HCG level 16 days after end of mc is somewhere between 10 and 25 miu and that this trace amount is showing in my OPK test.

Don't know if anyone will find this info useful but there you go!

yellowflowers · 12/02/2009 10:37

BIG FAT HUGS FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY WASABI

Could positive opk mean you are ovulating, rather than picking up leftover hcg? Def worth a shag later just in case...

Hi All, I am just reading all of your posts and glad the bd feast is in fully flow

Wasabi Happy birthday to you. Its my sisters birthday today too. Have a lovely day (hugs)

Even though I have a bfp I still am using my ovualtion sticks (cheapy one's I have brought on the internet) to check that I am still postive... I am 6 weeks and 1 day, today!! so only have another 6 weeks to wait - to see everything is okay (long sigh)

Take care all I will pop in every now again

Cindy

Wasabi - sounds like you had a good day A belated happy birthday from me

Under the duvet - no such luck I had to cancel a trip to Wales last week because of the weather, so was up at stupid o'clock and am now sitting in the Bridgend office, struggling to keep my eyes open !! A busy couple of days coming up.

Strangely enough, bearing in mind that AF should be due tomorrow or Sat, I have no symptoms I would normally have seen brown spotting by now ...

Someone tell me to get a grip !! We only managed one BD and he didn't "finish" so the chances are slim to non-existent !

Pinkyblue123 · 12/02/2009 13:49

Thanks for the welcome ladies. Looks like everyone is going for it this month..fingers crossed.

My great plans of DP this months have not gone too well as DH has been away but day 12 yesterday and we managed it so will try and make up for it over the next few days!

Also forgotton to do my OPK last two days as had really bad sleeps as DD has a cold and snotty nose all night. So nil points for that one!! So not a great start but still in with a chance! I guess I could try one this PM as it should still work then.

Good luck everyone, try not to get too tired from the loving fest!!

funtimewincies · 12/02/2009 18:22

Well, we had our appointment at the mc clinic today and I feel like a pin-cushion. Fab lady, lots of time to talk to her and she'd been through it herself. Only 6 weeks to wait for the blood-test results .

Bless her, she said that when I next saw her she hoped that I'd be pg again . That's what I like, optimism!

whatsfortea · 12/02/2009 18:26

Hi everyone, hope you're all looking forward to the weekend.

wasabi, sorry to hear about your recent mc. A belated Happy Birthday for yesterday, sounds like you had a lovely day.

jools hope you are feeling better, although I cant imagine the early start and long day today will help.

broodzilla, I've got 2 unopened packs of Clearblue digi OPK sticks, so obviously hoping that they will turn out to be a big waste of money!!

C1ndy, belated congrats from me on your BFP!! am I right thinking you used preseed? (Seem to remember reading that). Am thinking that if this cycle proves unsuccessful then I might get some of that - each month I seem to be adding one more thing into the mix, as it were!

Hello to everyone else too!

Joolsiam · 12/02/2009 18:28

Sounds like a positive experience Funtime - finally

Well, I was getting impatient and had a rummage for signs of impending AF and found them. My tum has bloated so I'm spilling out of my skirt and I'm in need of some ibuprofen, so I'm sure the witch will be here in earnest tomorrow.

Soooo - luteal phase still spot on 13 days I think, and probably improved because I don't get spotting from day 11 any more.

am even feeling nauseous - AF was never this nasty to me before the MC I'm staying in a hotel tonight aswell, so no hiding out with a hot water bottle - am still at work !

wasabipeanut · 13/02/2009 09:01

Yellow - Thanks for the hug I'm loving your optimism but I don't think that opk was showing I was oving - I suspect if I did one now it would still be positive (will do one next time I need a wee). Seeing as dh was out last night till late that's probably just as well! Having said that I have had some pangs today which I would normally get around day 20 or so but who knows? DH and I are going out for dinner tonight for a belated birthday treat and I might get lucky afterwards!

Funtime - glad your appt was a positive experience. The pin cushion routine isn't much fun I know but at least in 6 weeks you'll have more information.

Jools - hope you are somewhere you can make lots of cups of tea and eat lots of chocolate! Not sure of AF has arrived yet but you sound like you need the tlc!

C1ndy - you have to keep popping back regularly. We will be sad if you forget us

I've noticed out thread is droppping down the league table - are you all too busy with the love fest to post?

kittycatcat · 13/02/2009 09:13

Hi everyone,

wasabi have a lovely meal tonight

funtime glad your lady was fab.

Jools i am waiting like you, AF due tomorrow according to FF but i think it might come today. My bf also didn't 'finish' Hope work is kind to you and your day flys by today!

iggypiggy · 13/02/2009 09:20

a belated Happy Birthday Wasabi

Am CD9 today - missed BD last night cos of work... but will catch up today and over weekend

funtime glad to hear you had a nice experience at the MC clinic xx

Joolsiam · 13/02/2009 09:37

Morning all

Still in sunny Bridgend - thankfully no snow here I slept like a log - very much needed. No more grumbling tum but I am sure that AF will be here soon. My morning meeting was cancelled - grrrrr. 2 more today, then a taxi to the station at 4.30. I won't be home till around 9pm but DP will be waiting with wine and food hopefully

yellowflowers · 13/02/2009 10:05

wasabi - I read a book by Anne Enright written when she became a mum and on musing on what advice to give to her newborn baby daughter she concluded the only thing of any worth was to tell her, in due course, to make sure you have sex before dinner, not after. Which I think is fab because I always expect sex after we go out for nice meal and dh is always too full up!

So, some info for us all from my acupuncturist. He is a different one to the first one I saw as the first one has gone travelling, but they are in the same practise, and this one is even better I think. He said a 'good' period starts red and starts full flow, so if any of you start with pink/brown spotting then it is not as good as it could be.Naturally he thinks acupuncture can sort this out -maybe it can as my last period while still starting with spotting, was red, unlike usual, and the pain much improved. He said the redder it is the better as that means the whole lining is coming out and doing so quickly making the new lining more compatible for implantation next time.

Now obv I am not pregnant yet so this could all be a load of bollocks. But I went yesterday on day 14 of a30-38 day cycle, so ovulation would either be tomorrow or in a week. He said he would try to get it moving and I should go home and make sure I had sex that the evening (we did - hoorah!). Well maybe it is psychological but while having dinner I am convinced I had ovulation pain. Again, maybe this is in my mind, as no ewcm yet. But as it's valentine's day tomorrow I am def getting a sat shag too so things potentially good.

Annoyingly though I completely forgot to take my temp this morning for the first time in months. But woke up dying for a loo (had held it in all night so I didn't lose any sperm) and then dh had made me a cup of tea in bed (which is why I love him so much) and before thinking I took a sip.

Hope you are all having a good day - are you doing romantic things this weekend? We are actually going to a party tomorrow night, so will be surrounded by people, but I think I prefer this to a valentine's restaurant.

Sorry for long post

Hi all - and welcome to pinkyblue and welcome back to whatsfortea

I've been manic with work and all sorts of other things over the past week so haven't really been posting and have only been able to skim read through everything.

Me and DH are off on a well needed holiday as of tomorrow. We've been rubbish so far on the BD front but hoping we'll make up for it and that we haven't missed our 'slot' this month .

Hope you all have good valentines evenings and thinking, from a far, of you all.

lots of love

xx

BeckyMcG · 13/02/2009 11:15

hello new peeps pinky , flintski, whatsfortea.

Jools - It's so difficult with the internet and all the information available? My friends tell me to step away from the computer!! Although it?s difficult. I think all the confusing symptoms you?ve had have been your body getting back into it?s cycle and rhythm ? a 12 week MC is certainly more of a shock to the body and mind than a 6 week one (I?ve had both).

whatsfortea - I was a very obsessed TTC?er (although tried not to be) and did OPK?s every day in the loo at work ? used to take a little plastic water cup in t odip the cheapie internet stick into (good grief!). Also always tested early and every 2 days till AF came ? extremely unecxessary! I am now a obsessive pg person. In fact this week I have bought myself an ?angel sounds doppler? and have listened to baby heart beat every morning and night this week! Only 25 quid and the heart beat very easy to find ? much faster than mine. Reckon I should take it to work and see how fast mine is after a budget review meeting!

Jools ? agree about the nookie after dinner. Both DH and I usually struggle when full and tired. I always tried to tempt him before dinner but of course that doesn?t work if you?re going out as you don?t want to mess up hair and make-up! I much prefer morning sex actually which I guess might change when baby arrives.

Yellow - I was an emotional wreck on the pill. Ended up on the Depo contraceptive injection for 4 years which suited me so well ? no periods, mood swings, PMT for 10 years!! Took about 8 months for my period to come back though through which we used condoms as I wasn?t ready to TTC yet ? still loved going out too much.

WanabeMum · 13/02/2009 12:56

Hey everyone,

Wow this thread is so busy!
Nice to hear from you Becky, hope all is well. I too am an obsessive pg person. Although not far enough along to buy the heartbeat monitor but have been eyeing it up in the Argos catelogue!

Glad you had a positive experience at the MC clinic funtime, always nice to speak to someone who has acutally been there and done it, rather than just reading up on it! Fingers crossed for a good month for you.

Everyone else, i see the BD fest is in full swing for a lot of you and the rest are awaiting AF. We have a very mixed bag on this thread!

I'm starting to feel very sicky when i get hungry now which is lovely, but can't complain as it's what i signed up for!

Hope everyone is well and happy. Jools i pitty you being in Bridgend, I'm quite near (well sort of) and it's not the most exciting place on earth! Hopefully you'll feel better and be spoiled by your DP when you get home though. Remember it's Friday and that's always a good thing!!

Take care ladies xxxx

Joolsiam · 13/02/2009 13:26

Wanabe - I'm up in Bridgend quite a lot these days as my firm has a big office up here (and in Cardiff) and it is where my boss works from

It is quite handy though - I have friends in Newport and Swansea, so can often organise to see them without having to pay my own travel and hotel bills !!

funtimewincies · 13/02/2009 19:04

Oh heck - the obsessive symptom spotting has begun and I'm only 4 days post ov . Lots of twingeing in the pelvic area, slap me someone !

Broodzilla · 14/02/2009 15:09

funtime, you and me both... I'm 5 days post OV, and have had strange "stichy" feelings around my belly button (which I'm sure is too high anyway...) and this morning had a temp dip.

I found myself checking the HPT to try and work out how early it might be worth testing. It says for non-pregnant women the hormone levels are about 5 (missing the strange symbol) anyway, as they double each day and the supersensitive tests give a positive for 10 I guess in theory a couple of days after implantation would give you a positive result.

I'm going away on Thursday and will be gone for 2 weeks, which means that whether it's AF or a BFP I'll be on my own on D-Day... I know it's waaaay to early, but would prefer to know before I go.

Should we succumb and POAS?

Oh, and HAPPY VALENTINE'S to everyone!

Joolsiam · 14/02/2009 15:14

Broodzilla - implantation for me was a wierd (not uncomfortable) sensation as if someone was poking me in the belly button, so keep spotting those symptoms both you and Funtime - I think we are overdue another BFP

If I thought I was in with a chance this cycle, I'd be climbing the walls right now - my usual luteal phase is 13 days and the 13 days were up last night (as I know full AF started Sat evening two weeks ago)

not sure where she is hiding, but I suppose getting back to a standard luteal phase with very little spotting has to be a good thing.

I am bloated but have no cramps whatsoever and no PMT - am actually in a really good mood for a change, despite having no Valentines card or pressie

I can't help thinking "what if" though

Broodzilla · 14/02/2009 18:30

Thanks Jools, fingers crossed that's what my bellybutton's up to!
For what it's worth, a girl I used to work with used to say her DD was "immaculate conception" as her DH had such problems performing that she swears she has no idea how she managed to get pregnant. Given what we know about TTC and the odds, we may all be a bit too pessimistic. Don't forget that there's a reason teenagers are reminded that the withdrawal method is not reliable!

Despite the fact that it seems like a mountain to climb when TTC, people really DO get preggers by accident. Or even from the first time they ever have sex, so it's not as impossible as it seems sometimes.

(Also, it's good to cling to any straw we can!)

Broodzilla · 14/02/2009 18:33

Oh, and HAPPY BELATED B-DAY to Wasabi! (Suddenly, B-Day takes on a whole new meaning doesn't it?)

funtimewincies · 14/02/2009 19:14

Broodzilla - step away from the pregnancy tests ! Implantation for most people is 6-10 days post ovulation.

(Will I take my own advice though )

Try and stay sane Jools (passes a glass of something nice)

Joolsiam · 14/02/2009 20:15

Still no AF

I like that story Broodzilla

I really can't believe it would happen to me though - no symptoms whatsoever !
