yellow can you add me? I don't think I use FF very well... although I do have the paid version...

Broodzilla · 04/03/2009 17:41

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for all the congratulations! Got back yesterday so busy getting over jetlag now.

kyte and queenie I will keep my fingers crossed for you - just so you know, I'd had a BFN on the Monday (4 days early) and then a faint BFP on Thursday, so I guess the early testing is pretty futile. Also - I didn't feel any different at all, in fact I'm still having AF-type cramps (but apparently that's completely normal) so, don't get down because of lack of symptoms!
yellow I'm glad you're feeling positive this month!
Jools you're so active, it puts the rest of us to shame! I know someone who lost a TON of weight on the Cambridge diet, but I know it's really hard as you basically just get soups, right?

It all feels very unreal still... I guess it's me keeping a lid on the emotions as I don't want to get all happy just incase something goes wrong. It's strange though, I thought that I'd be crying happy tears and all that, but I feel strangely detached. It doesn't help that I came down with a very bad case of food poisoning on the same day as I got the BFP. I was feeling nauseous all day, but thought maybe that was the "morning" sickness starting... ended up blacking out early evening and then vomiting violently for hours. At one point (while I still thought it was because of the BFP) I was getting scared that I wouldn't be able to come back home if that was just me being pregnant as it was impossible to leave the toilet! Turns out about a third of the people at the conference came down with the same thing though...

I did another test after I started feeling better and the line was darker than the first time, so I'm hoping that means the bean didn't get hurt. Also did a proper Clearblue test today, so actually got the word "pregnant" for the first time.

Anyway, if you don't mind, I'll be hanging out in here for the foreseeable future.

All good things come in threes (as in my dream) so I reckon that means this thread should have at least another 2 more BFP this month.

yellowflowers · 04/03/2009 17:45

Hi everyone.

Iggy- you never know - fingers crossed for you. when is af due?

Broodz - baby baby. I reckon you're right, give us some of your baby dust!

Jools - hope yr not feeling too hungery. I will not tell you what i am cooking for dinner!

I have a couple of questions..

Have been using opk for a few months now just to check i am ov when i think i am. Yesterday cd13 had neg opk in the morning but positive in the afternoon (apparently quite normal).

Does that mean I had already released an egg or about to?

Also does anyone else start having sore boobs straight after ovulation like i have for the past couple of months. I swear i can feel them starting to hurt now, then closer to af very painful and 'full'. Pain disappears first day of af. Anyone else experince this or am i just the lucky one??

yellowflowers · 04/03/2009 18:39

Hi lovely I have had that boob thing before though not every month

OP posts:
LovelyMonster · 04/03/2009 19:19

It has only been for the past three months but is so annoying!!!!! Would not mind if it was pregnancy related but is not grrrrr.

flintski · 04/03/2009 19:26

evening all,

lovely - I get a similar thing as you as i get near to AF - its how i am beginning to realise I'm not pregnant each month. The one month I didn't have sore boobs was the month I had a 30 day cycle (usually 23-26) and think I may have had a CP.

Poor you broodzilla - your experience sounds awful, thank goodness it wasn't Morning Sickness!

Hi to everyone else. I am really p**ed off as it appears I have cystitis again for the second month in a row. So, if I am yet to ovulate, I'm going to miss it and even if I manage to seduce DH when not feeling too bad, will have to go to loo straight after as I'm sure that's why I keep getting it. never mind.

queenie1 · 04/03/2009 20:15

iggy - being tearful / v emotional can be PG sign as well as one of impending AF so don't write this month off just yet...

kyte - your symptoms sound vvv promising. Here's hoping for you. In terms of testing, I'd hold out for as long as you possibly can - I've learnt from bitter experience that early testing sucks: it's expensive, inconclusive; and can give you false hope (CPs etc).

broodzilla - good to hear from you. v reassuring to hear you didn't feel any different. Let's hope your dream of three comes true and that some of us manage to get BFPs this month - we're certainly owed some I think...

Flintski - how annoying for you!

No AF from me but do have AF style cramps (in abdomenen area and lower back). Don't know what to think and switch between optimism and pessimism every few minutes. If I ov'd day after I got my line of OPK then I'm 13dpo today. Figured it's probably best to try and wait until Fri or Sat morning to test (presuming AF hasn't showed up) so will try to hold out.

Joolsiam · 04/03/2009 20:37

LovelyMonster - re the boobs aching post ov - I had that in July last year (CP), August and then in Sept (BFP). I haven't had it since the mc and have been really worried that I was ovulating then but am not now cos I don't get the boob pain Think I'm being stupid as I still get EWCM and ov pains, but you know how it is

I honestly don't know why it happens - must be something to do with hormones though ?

btw - I am starving !! Weight loss so far has been minimal but inch loss is fantastic and I feel slimmer already The soups and shakes are actually quite nice, but I do have to have a proper meal if I exercise (have been spinning tonight )

Good to hear from you Broodzilla - hope you are feeling better now

wasabipeanut · 05/03/2009 09:25

Lovely - if you hd a positive OPK yesterday afternoon you couldd have ovulated yesterday, last night or possibly today. Its meant to be 24-26 hours or so but obviously there is a massive variation. Pre mc I tended to get a positive OPK on day 15 or 16 then get ov pains that evening - however, when I actually popped the egg I don't know.
Whatever the case you should be busy in the bedroom for the next several days! And the Carribean is definitely the place for the 2WW!

Queenie - huge good luck vibes your way. I guess holding out until the weekend is sensible if you can manage it. I don't want to get your hopes up but again, in my BFP month I remember feeling wetness and dashing to the loo convinced I'd come on and then it was just CM. So, thats a positive sign.

Iggy - huge good luck vibes to you too. Any news?

Yellow - don't worry my lovely I'm not going anywhere. Even if I get lucky and prove the "more fertile after mc" theory then I will still be a regular here!

Flintski - I totally agree with Kytes views on your job. Instincts are always right and also, people forget that interviews aren't just for the employers benefit - they are there for yours to see if you like the employer as well!

Jools - glad you are feeling positive about the diet. It's a pretty tough one I know. Do they offer counselling services as well? A friend of mine did Cambridge or Lighter Life or something nad has now put all the weight back on again - not that I think this will happen to you but she never bothered with the counselling bit therefore the reasons that she overate in the first place never really got explored. I think the emotional side of things is so important with these diets.

Broodzilla - oh hideous food poisoning you poor thing. Sounds utterly vile, especially when it hits so far from home. My friend went to Vegas recebtly on a work thing and got really bad food poisoning on the 2nd night. Not nice and she had to cope with it on the flight back as well. I'm sure the bean is fine - they have a way of ensuring their well being over and above yours. Get used to it! Glad you're hanging around!

Well, no news from me really - CD9 and have started our lurve fest! I am nowhere ner ov yet judging from CM but figured that getting into the habit early in the month wouldn't be a bad idea so I seduced a very willing dh Its difficult this month as I don't have ay idea whether the mc will change the cycles I got used to pre mc - I might ov earlier, later or indeed not at all. I am feeling optimistic though.

iggypiggy · 05/03/2009 09:29

ok - this is the news from me..

Did internet cheapie test today - got in shower - when I got out I looked and there was a line - quite faint but still a line...

am now worrying that I left test for more than 10 mins

Bought another one into work... might try that later - what do you think?!

wasabipeanut · 05/03/2009 09:29

Blimey that was a bit of a mega post wasn't it?

iggypiggy · 05/03/2009 09:57

yellow I can't see any pics? Am I being dense?? Is likely....

queenie1 · 05/03/2009 10:13

iggy - this is excellent news!!! A line is a line, don't they always say! I think you're PG my lovely...!! Test again but I think a cautious congratulations is due your way. xx

From my end, I've not tested and feeling v down this morning as convinced I'm not PG(still don't really feel PG at all). Have also had AF like cramps so figure it'll probably be over again for the month later today / tomorrow...

iggypiggy · 05/03/2009 10:17

Ah queenie thank you - I can't say i 'feel' PG... but as I never have been how would I know!

I have my fingers crossed for you tho - I reckon hold off as long as you can with tests... I just gave in today - but meant to wait at least until friday...

I'll test again later and probably again tomorrow... as am obviously addicted to testing...

yellowflowers · 05/03/2009 10:27

OMG iggy - that would be amazing! good luck.

Not sure why tyou can't see pics. will see if I can work out why, though sounds like you won't be needing it.

OP posts:
iggypiggy · 05/03/2009 10:54

fank yellow am quietly getting excited... but don't want to be wrong about it

still feeling nauseous - a good sign I think?

re: the pics - it says you have restricted privacy settings when I click on you?

wasabipeanut · 05/03/2009 10:59

Ooooh Iggy this is good news. A cautious congrats you way! I think you do need to do another test tomorrow am though. The nausea is most definitely a good sign!

Queenie - don't give up hope just yet honey. Lots of women don't "feel" pg for the 1st few weeks - I know I never did with either pregnancy both successful and not. The cramping could be a bean settling in x

queenie1 · 05/03/2009 11:05

thanks wasabi - lets hope you're right. I just went to loo and had lots of creamy CM so from what you said earlier I'm hoping that's a good sign. Can't bear this not knowing - so hard to concentrate on anything else!

wasabipeanut · 05/03/2009 11:09

I know, the waiting is just a bugger. I remember the run up to Xmas when I was starting to suspect, didn't dare test (like you couldn't deal with the BFN) and thought I was going to come on any second.

Luckily I had last minute xmas shopping to distract me as I would have gone round the bend otherwise.

iggypiggy · 05/03/2009 11:10

queenie I am getting absolutely NO work done here at the mo - totally know what you mean...

wasabi agree - need to do another test... DH said - why don't you wait till next week ! how could I possibly wait that long!

wasabipeanut · 05/03/2009 11:15

Iggy - men are just soooo dumb sometimes.

wasabipeanut · 05/03/2009 11:15

Iggy - men are just soooo dumb sometimes.

iggypiggy · 05/03/2009 11:30

ok - I gave in and did test again just now... faint line again - and this time not FMU.

will test again tomorrow with FMU - as am addicted.. but have used these tests before and never seen anything, so am getting quietly excited...

According to FF am 14 dpo

wasabipeanut · 05/03/2009 12:40

Iggy - you are pg CONGRATULATIONS!!

A line is a line missy

Really happy for you xx
