Thanks Romilly - it is a good job I didn't have many pressing things to do today!

Am quite jealous about Bella's gardener - mine's not especially easy on the eye - maybe she'll lend me hers when she's done with him.

lilsmum · 08/05/2005 21:10

guess i best do my stats lol
age - me - 24, dp - 30
ttc no.2
dd is 15 mths, ttc dd for 6 mth before it happened.
cycle 2
CD 28
not using opk's, or temps, just seeing if it happens....but may have done already as no sign or symptom of AF! (due today and normally comes in morn), keep thinking AF has arrived and when i go check, lots of CM (sorry!!)sore boobs, and achy lower back, lots of weeing too, so fingers crossed!

MaddyD · 08/05/2005 21:31

Thats a good sign of pg if your af is def due and you think you have cm as you normally get dry before af. Good Luck

Tabs · 08/05/2005 21:48

Oh Lilsmum you're so patient. I'd have a test out ready for FMU tomorrow if I were in your position!

Hey Maddy - sorry to hear of v recent m/c. How long are your cycles normally? I found that my post D&C cycle was about 10 days longer than normal, so you may still have a bit of a wait on your hands . Hope the result turns out to be worth the wait though

romilly · 08/05/2005 21:50

lilsmum thanks for stats - 24! you are one of the babies of the thread with lottielou, diddle and munz

another big warm welcome to maddy - so so sorry to hear of your recent m/c - nearly everyone on this thread has been there, we used to be the ttc cautiously thread - so you and tabs will get massive support and understanding here

how are all our preggie ladies? george, nemo, dqueen, ybear, hereshoping, bonkerz and dyzzidi, hope you're all getting nice and round girls

george thinking of you this week for your scan - sticky babydust for you hon.

Hi everyone, have been reading this thread for hours - its looks like a lucky thread so heres hoping.

my stats:

age 32
dh 34
ds 03
mc01 oct 03 8 weeks
mc02 Dec 04 14 weeks missed

Been desperatly trying for five mints this is ov week.

wishing you all the very best.

romilly · 08/05/2005 21:56

tabs - it takes about 48 hours for your hcg levels to increase so lilsmum should wait if she had a BFN today - unless she gets ultra-sensitive tests. we've had girls who tested at 9dpo but that was with tests that picked up 10miu/ml - and even then it is very hard to see a line

OP posts:
lilsmum · 08/05/2005 21:58

think we neeeedddd another thread girls lol, this takes soo long to get to add a msg!

@ maddy..is that true? i never heard that before (very naive lol) ooh things looking good then, i did a predictor test this aft(shoulda bought a different brand not heard very good things about predictor), but forced a wee out after i only just had one and was - neg, my own fault impatience! thinking about it, i did have a few weird cramps this morn, but no AF and didnt feel like them sort of cramps, >> i did buy a twin pack of predictors but i dropped one down the loo with the lid off, nerves i guess pmsl

lilsmum · 08/05/2005 21:59

i cant test till weds anyway, as i have no test and no way of getting a test till then, so i guess its the waiting game lol

romilly · 08/05/2005 21:59

welcome trix nice to have you with us. cant believe you all diligently read thru the whole thread - its sooooo long, LOL

Thanks Romily, had tests done in Feb to see if there was a reason for miscarriages got results this week and they found nothing wrong. Consultant said he would try me with clomid in a couple of months if still not pregnant, does anyone know anything about clomid are there any side affects - does it work? I am so desperate - I am as regular as clockwork every 28 days what are the best days to conceive???????wink

romilly · 08/05/2005 22:04

lilsmum - there will be a new thread v. soon - we are just hanging in there until wendy and i have tested - cause we love this thread so much we dont want to leave it yet!

OP posts:
Tabs · 08/05/2005 22:13

Sorry Romilly - missed the bit where Lilsmum said she'd already tested today .

Lilsmum - it is true that increased CM is a sign of pregnancy, but it's also reasonably common to get CM just before AF, which can either be due to second (smaller) oestrogen surge later in cycle, or start of broken down corpus luteum coming away, so not conclusive on its own I'm afraid.

Trix - have heard mixed things about clomid. It apparently dries up CM which can be a bit counter productive, and can cause mood swings, but it does work for lots of people, so hopefully you'll be one of them.

Trix1 · 08/05/2005 22:17

Excuse my ignorance but what is Cm its not on the acronym list!!!!!

Tabs · 08/05/2005 22:18

Cervical Mucus

lilsmum · 08/05/2005 22:28

what about temp? can you not tell pg by that? sorry i am abit dim when it comes to ttc

Tabs · 08/05/2005 22:37

Sometimes I wish I was a bit dimmer about it, as it might mean I hadn't been trying for so flippin long

If you're charting, then you can be pretty confident from temps by the time you're a day or two past AF due date, but it does take at least a couple of months to build up a picture of how your temps normally behave first.

You can't use temps as a cheap pg test if you're not charting though, more's the pity!

Trix1 · 08/05/2005 22:40

What is dpo? its probably something really obvious like the CM - that was emabarassing.

Just talking to a friend on the phone and told her about this site she told me to stop obsessing and then it will happen. I feel like I am constantly thinking about what day of my cycle it is. And the days seem to drag but each month when AF comes its another month gone and the age gap is getting wider and wider and the desperation is unbearable.

Tabs · 08/05/2005 22:45

DPO = days past ovulation.

Don't you just hate it when people tell you to stop thinking about it and relax and it will just happen? We spent the first 2 years of ttc doing this and it didn't happen FFS!!!! Grrrrrr

Trix1 · 08/05/2005 22:48

Hi Tabs, it is frustrating but they are tryig ot be helpful -if only they knew. Do you count ovulation as day 14 or do you know a way of being more presice?

Tabs · 08/05/2005 22:57

Yeah I know they mean well really - I've just heard it so many times now that I've a well practised grin that probably makes me look like I've just escaped from a loony bin .

I use charting and OPKs to pinpoint my ovulation precisely, but if you don't want to go down those routes then monitoring your CM is probably the best and simplest method that you can use. When you have watery or EWCM you are fertile, as sperm can live in this for a few days, and once your CM has dried up, you have already ov'ed.

A 'normal' luteal phase length (time between ov and AF) is anything from 10-16 days, so if you have a 28 day cycle, then you could ov anywhere from day 12 to day 18. If in doubt, then make sure you BD at least every other day from about day 10 through to day 20, or until your CM has dried up completely.

Trix1 · 08/05/2005 22:59

Thanks for that, todays day ten so better get started. Its like an endless race.

Tabs · 08/05/2005 23:01

Have a good evening then

Debbsy · 09/05/2005 08:21

morning all well had one brown bleed yesterday then nothing else through last nite or this morn boobs and nipples still v sore though not holding out much hope though.

Hulababy · 09/05/2005 08:36

Morning CD11 here - so next weekend is the time to get thinking about it for me again. I got a new bed on Saturday, so hoping it is a lucky one

Bal;l was great. DD is so NOT poorly with these chicken pox, I am amazed. Other than some spots she has no other symptoms. I expected her to be a bit poorly at least, but no. She is sailing through it. Which is fab

Also bought a new house yesterday, like \link{http://www.barratthomes.co.uk/more_site.cfm?intDevID=468&morePage=5\this one} here. Very excited - will be ready in 4-6 weeks! Fingers crossed we can fill another one of those bedrooms by next year.

about BFNs for lilsmum, debbsey and chuffed; but hang on in there - it is over yet, maybe just too early. have my fingers crossed for you.

And good luck to those on the 2WW - hope it goes fast enough!

Welcome to Maddy D, Tabs and Trix1 too.

Gosh, I have a couple of days away and it takes ages to catch up!
