wohooooooooo!

Worriedbev · 21/04/2005 12:20

George
Congratulations. Well done.
Did you mean this time when you got pg you didnt bed on ov day. If I bedded on Sunday is there still chance that I could be pg if I ovulated Wednesday. I am on oxford conception study and with that I got high fertility between days 7 and 11, so maybe the opks I have looked at are wrong. What do you think? Should I go with the oxford conception study fertility monitor instead, which would mean that I bedded on the three days it said high?

Bev

dramaqueen72 · 21/04/2005 12:27

bev, what did your body tell you? any o pain? any EWCM? my midwife firmly believes every opk will give you a different result and that they are unreliable, so that could explain different days showing on different things? go with your body, look of the slippery cm and time bding with that. it dries up STRAIGHT after o, literally in hours, so its a good sign. I have fingers crossed you caught the egg this month. i only bded before O (by at least 24hrs) and managed to get pg so its not over til af shows up.

Worriedbev · 21/04/2005 12:47

Hi Dramaqueen
I didnt really get any definite signs of ov. No cm and my temperature was and still is fluctuating, are you any good at reading ttc as I could email you mine across from fertility friend?
Why do you think the opks are unreliable. Are they all looking for different hormones. I am so confused now about them I dont know whether to use them or not or just go with the ocs.

Did you get any pg symptoms before your missed af?

Bev

Diddle · 21/04/2005 12:47

Sorry so many of you are feeling so low, i cant imagine how frustrated you all feel. i hope you you feel happier soon.
congratulations george, its really true, you can believe it now. Well done.

Lottielou - here i am!!!! i've been to school and playgroup and shopping. busy morning, Thursday always seems to be busy.
Feeling quite cheery, the sun is trying to push the clouds out the way here so its quite bright. i always like it when its sunny.
No sign of AF either. although back ache and a few cramps are getting my hopes up.

Lottielou · 21/04/2005 12:54

Diddle - you have been busy haven't you!
Yep the cramps are comming n lower back pain so these are the signs we are waiting for!!!
Dont want to get my hopes up tho but usually i get this a week before AF arrives. fingers crossed.
Am feeling better than i did earlier, felt really crap this morning but feeling much better now! Will be even better when i've ate, i'm starving!
What you got planned for this afternoon then?

Diddle · 21/04/2005 12:57

lottielou - Did you have a bad night? is everything alright now?
Well i have 3 toddlers with me this afternoon, one will be sleeping soon hopefully and other two will be racing cars along my carpet i would imagine. Then i will be going to school again to and coming home with 6 kids. very busy today. how about you? what have you got planned?

HandbagAddiction · 21/04/2005 13:11

Ok ladies - sorry to interrupt your flow and thread....posted this on the TTC 21 thread...but it's a lot quieter and I'm keen for some adivce/opinions....

AF was supposed to arrive yesterday and didn't...still no sign this morning so decided to do a ClearBlue test, one of those digital ones. Only I got the thing mixed up and didn't use the digital reader thing. Looked at just the pee stick...and low and behold the faintest of lines....(in addition to the control line). However, not wanting to get too excited...bought a First Response test on my way in to work as I thought they are supposed to be more sensitive....have just done it and it's negative .

So.....still unsure - still feel a bit wierd, still no sign of AF. Question is......on the ClearBlue digital tests - if you take the stick out of the digital reader thingy - and you were pregnant, would you still expect to see two lines like the normal pregnancy tests??

Confused of Surrey....... xx

Hope everyone else is OK though....and by the way...I'm not getting my hopes up - surely at one day ovedue I would expect more evident HCG levels by now??

Bella23 · 21/04/2005 13:25

Did you do the clearblue first thing in the morning and then the first response later on in the morning ?
Theory - first wee on clearblue could have picked up enough hormone to give a line and then when you did first response your wee wasn't concentrated enough to have the hormone.
Perhaps you ov'd later than thought.

I would test tomorrow morning first thing. I would say a line is a line though so things are looking hopeful

Diddle · 21/04/2005 13:25

Handbag addiction - have never tried to use the clearblue without the reader part, but when i have used it with it and checked the stick after it has shown two lines (when i was pregnant). Did one last week which was negative and it only had the control line.
When i found out i was pregnant the first time i did a first response and a clearblue and the 1st repsonse showed negative and the clearblue showed positive. I have always found them very accurate.
I would have to rush out and ge another digital one if i were you. i'm so impatient, would just love to see that "pregnant" on the screen.
Get to the shops quick. sound quite promising, even a faint line means something.

HandbagAddiction · 21/04/2005 13:33

Thanks Diddle and Bella. I did the ClearBlue in a very sleepy state at 7am, and then the First Response was at 10:00am...so you could be right...maybe there wasn't enough hormone to register on the First Response. Will buy another Digital one on the way home this evening and use it tomorrow morning...so watch this space!!

Guess I'm just confused since last time I was pregnant with dd, I had a good line 2 days before AF was due......so stupid I know but I sort of assumed that this time would be the same....

Lottielou · 21/04/2005 14:17

Diddle - Yeah had a bad night, felt really emotional, cried lots and lots. Woke up this morning not feeling too bad but then looked in mirror and my eyes were really puffy so felt upset again as brought back my feeling from last night. Still feeling a little weepy but trying to throw myself into my work.
I have quite a relaxed (ish) afternoon at work so can have lots more time to be on here i'm sooooo addicted!
DP said last night that i should say thankyou to you ladies from him, he v.pleased that i can chat to you about things as somethings he tries to understand but you know men, they dont have a clue! So Thankyou from my DP! x

dramaqueen72 · 21/04/2005 14:17

handbag, i think on that great site, peeonastick.com, there is something about two lines in a digi test NOT being two lines as we know it... see if you can find that bit i mean or i will try and link later. i hope it IS for you tho obviously!
bev, i'm crap at reading charts, sorry, didnt temp at all. i have used 3 brands of opks in three months, and o'ed on a different day each, tiem, so could be i DID o on a different day each time, or that my opks picked up different strengths? anyhow, alot of people say that midwives etc find opks mislead people. I used to swera by them however, so i'm nto saying dont use them, i just think you need EWCM and any other signs your body gives you to comfirm them. if that makes sense!
as for pre BFP signs.well we all have had some weird ones!LOL I was very hot, pg and hcg increases blood flow around your body and that was certianly the case for me, i was boiling! also my boobs grew, and felt heavy but not esp painful, i had no angry cross PMT like usual, infact i was overemotional and weepy instead. but everyones different. have you/can you asked oxford conception study for any input? fingers crossed for you and handbag.

Diddle · 21/04/2005 14:27

If you want to weep lottielou you get on with it, it always makes me feel better. do your work know what has happened? did you have any time off?
You tell your DP that he is more than welcome and thats what we are here for.

Nemo1977 · 21/04/2005 14:29

handbag DQ is right with the clearblue digi everyone gets 2 lines as the test reads in a different way...i know as i fell into that trap too....

Lottielou · 21/04/2005 14:32

Nope, they dont know! I had a little time off but said it was for family/personal reasons. Didn't want to tell them as they would fussed over me (i know thay would've meant well) and would of made me worse. So the toilets have been my best friend today! Thank god for Waterproof mascara!
Plus there are 2 girls that are PG (only a matter of weeks b4 they go on Maternity leave) i would hate to of put a downer on them!

Diddle · 21/04/2005 14:33

i didn't get two lines. honest. it was negative and i checked to see if it looked different to when it was positive and my dh wondered about the lines and for pos there were two and for neg i only had one. really. i would just get another and try again.

Diddle · 21/04/2005 14:34

lottie - very thoughtful of you, i didn't have any time off ths time but with the first i had a week and cried a lot. you're doing well.

Lottielou · 21/04/2005 14:38

My usual heavy workload helps me loads with keeping my thoughts away from it all but i'm feeling better about it, just have my moments!
I'm cant wait to get trying again!
Come on AF pay us a visit!

romilly · 21/04/2005 14:39

bella - waiting time for you i guess - hows the teeth?

dramaqueen and george - its so great to have you helping along our new ttc'ers, i am well impressed you haven't just gone "great, BFP! Bye then." which is not to judge anyone who does do that - fair play! just think its very good of you to drop back in. And nemo, you too!

george - fab about latest test. i think we'd all decided you were pg. anyway hon!

lottielou - glad your dp appreciates this site too. mr.rom thinks its hysterical when i'm on here - get a few sarcy jokes from him, but i tell him its my therapy, LOL

worriedbev - i cant wait til we can change your name to pregnantbev or mummybev - or something happier!

handbagaddict - agree with dqueen - look for EWCM, it really is the most important signal

HandbagAddiction · 21/04/2005 14:45

Dramaqueen - that's a really useful site and provides loads of good information. Good point about the 2 lines on a digital not meaning that you are pregnant....so as I thought, I can't afford to get my hopes up yet. Will definitely be buying another set of tests on the way home tonight, will test again tomorrow morning and will post up the results...!!
