what the hell is all this stuff about 6 times in 48 hours please tell me this is not true - PLEASE!

who has the time/energy or inclination to do that, bloody hell! (ok, some of you 24 yr olds in the flush of honeymoon periods maybe?)

OP posts:
Cadmum · 11/04/2005 22:15

Wow Nemo! Now I feel that two congrats are in order: 6 times in 24 hours?!?! There is clearly no hope for me if this is the requirement. How have I ever fallen before? We have never even tried before...

DQ: Did you also happen to read that the yam is thought to be responsible for the conception of identical twins? How would you feel about the yam then?

Romilly: What has got you too busy to post here?

I "bottled out" today when faced with all of the options in the family planning section. There were so many OPKs and they are so VERY expensive that I just couldn't bring myself to part with the money. Am I boring or what? I hope that you can all forgive me as I watch you all POAT. You can all consider me a convert to the BFN because I actually tested this month and I never used to do that even!

Cadmum · 11/04/2005 22:16

Romilly: As you are swamped with Christmas orders, please know that you can hold off until January to process mine. Twins would be great (especially if full term)!

Bella23 · 11/04/2005 22:19

Rom- I am with you on the thought of 6 times in 48 hours.....yikes!! May try for an extra am session but apart from that DH may not be up to the task.............actually or me for that matter!! Hats of to you nemo.....that is serious dedication!!
Of course Rom is busy - she's in the head office processing all the orders!!

dramaqueen72 · 11/04/2005 23:17

oh god if its 6 times in 48hrs i may need new dh. we'll never do that. he keeps reminding me is only the ONE time thats needed as it is!
cadmum youve never forgiven me my silly twins comment have you? twins would be fine. i'd definately be gobsmacked and shellshocked tho, but still v happy. yams it is then. so who knows how to cook them nicely?!
cadmum, on a lighter note. ebay has great savings and I mean assive savings on opks, should you decide to ever be tempted. i have gotta say, the cm method is alot more vague than the opk method, i used to think it was spot on, but now i dont know........
rom, any chance of my order coming soon too? only i have a crampy tummyache and think its not looking good now.
hey bella can tell your computers working your on here after hours!

george32 · 12/04/2005 08:51

Morning everyone.
I feel like I've aged dramatically with all this talk of 6 times!! Might tell DP just to scare him!! Nemo, good going. You deserve to be p/g for managing that!

Cadmum, no! How could you back out. Did you not see the ClearBlue smiley digitals just waving at you from the shelf?
At least buy some cheapies off the internet (1 month of studying the lines & you'll be running off to the shop desperate for the smileys!!) There is still time for them to arrive if you order today.

So whats with the yams then? Found a recipe for them yet DQ? When are you supposed to eat them?

DQ, please give me a clue as to what I'm looking out for in my 2ww. Feel like I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms from not POAT!! Must be something else I can obsess about instead

Are we going to have a sudden flood of order delivery Rom? You are certainly very busy. Think Wendy must take priority for the next order so that no nasal sprays & injections are needed.

Another day in the garden for me. Don't think I mentioned but went to work & HR made me come home yesterday as their doctor recommended I take another 2 weeks off. I have to get another note from my doctor to tell them that, should I want to go in, that she is OK with it - barmy!! All new to me this taking time off. Have a tendancy to put a happy face on to hide my misery so think they are a bit worried I might end up with chronic depression. I miss my Dad more than I ever imagined I could and have days when I cry about losing both him & the baby but good days are definitely outweighing the bad now. Anyway, going to enjoy another day pottering about killing ants!!

Sending some babydust across to all

Moring all ladies.......
Extra Hugs to George as it must be hard to have lost your Dad, stay away from work girlie, honestly its the best thing
Well tomorrow I can start POAS so will feel like I am on the way to some serious bding. Still dreaming of a bloody glass of wine but determined to give it a go this month to see if it makes any difference.
Cadmum - seriously impressed that you managed to not buy the digital ov tests. I think I have got to the point now that if they were on sale for a £100 for 10 I would be there queueing up with my cash card....sucker that I am !!!
Kiera - every 3 days for a month....good luck girl, if no joy I guarantee that you will be joining us in the ov testing!
Well another day at work.....best get my mitts of here and do what I am paid for...
Have a good day ladies, enjoy the sunshine xxx

munz · 12/04/2005 09:05

nemo - u loiter away hon! just keep spreading that dust!

rom - hey my DH is only 22 and I think he's gonna have a heart attck at the idea of 6 times! lol, the honey moon period went for us about 18 months ago! OMG i've been married 2 yrs this month! I feel like an old woman! i'll let u catch up on dec's orders as well, but wuill place an order for twins to be born mid-end of jan, boys at that please!

CD 6 here, and nothing happening- till next week!

george32 · 12/04/2005 09:41

Thanks Bella. Hooray POAT starts tomorrow for you!
Has Persona asked you for any tests yet? Not sure what happens about mine as my cycle is too long for it to work properly now. Might have to get in touch with them to see if I can still use it.

Munz your DH is 22!!!!! Oh I don't feel so bad about not achieving 6 times now but please, unless you have a considerably younger toy boy for a DH, no talk of being an old woman

Bella23 · 12/04/2005 09:50

George - persona always asks for a test on cd6 so it will ask me tomorrow and then not sure when the everyday testing will start, I reckon from CD 9 again as my cycle seems to be 28 days. Shame your cycles seem to be buggering you about, just have to stick to the smiley faces as they seem to be working for you

dramaqueen72 · 12/04/2005 10:07

morning ladies.
george, I'm so sorry, i was reading your post and imagining my dad not being about, and ended up almost crying. a m/c is incrediabley hard as it is, without losing a parent too. take it easy on yourself, if you feel like work tho, i guess its sometimes easier when youre abit busy. theres no time limit on grieving you know. I lost my first dh, when my 'big' kids were only 4 and 2, and it floored me in many different ways for so so long. so I'm sending you a huge cyber (((hug))) and wishing you well.

ladies i have a confession to make.. i tested today. i have no idea on what day to expect AF, except i think thursday-sunday is a good guide. so today is abit early to test. I actually got a BF? because i think there might be the worlds faintest line, but i dont want to get sidetracked by evaporation lines so i'm not peering at it anymore. I guess testing 48hrs from now will confirm it one way or another. its a very odd feeling being in 'limbo'!(and testing again in 48hrs! do you know how long 48hrs is?!!) its prob not a line at all, but i took a photo of it() and wish i could figure out how to show you guys that!!!! anyone?????
George, okay well if you want something to look for, hm, hard as every pg is different and of course different for different people too. this month i feel (and i'm going to look so silly if i'm not pg now!)
hot, normally i need the heating on in july, this last week i am opening windows and grumbling about feeling hot.
my 'boobies' are heavy and seem to be bigger. this could all be in my head!
I'm happy/weepy, as opposed to hormonal me usually being cross and fed up this time of the month.
your eating habits and drinking habits tend to change....
of course you can think all these things so they dont really help much. it helps to write them down so you can compare month to month...

Diddle · 12/04/2005 11:00

DQ, my hopes would be up too, amything that could be a line would get me very excited. I don't know how you will survive the next 48 hrs. stay calm. be prepared for whatever the answer is. have no idea how you can show us all your pic.

wendy11 · 12/04/2005 11:10

Oh DQ - getting exicited for you. Keeping everything crossed for you that the line appears clear as day when you test again. Maybe Rom has got your delivery all packed up and ready to go!!

George - really feel for you at the moment. My dad will be dead 6 years on Monday and I am finding it tough going at the moment. Although I still have my Mum I was always very close to my Dad and missed him terribly when we lost ds. I believe that they are together somewhere and that Dad will take care of Adam until we see him again some day in the future. Take as much time off work as you can. I was off almost 4 months but I was quite ill due to complications at and after the birth. I also had a phased return to work which was really good. Maybe something to think about. I always find gardening very therapeutic (sp) so stick at it and kill off all those wee ants.

Bella - with you on the spending silly amounts of money on OPK's. I think if it was the choice between eating and OPK's then DH would just have to chew on the leg of the chair while I get my fix of POAT.

Broke the news to DH last night that according to you ladies the only way to overcome this problem of lack of conception was to BD 6 times in 48 hours. Well needless to say his face was a picture - talk about turning a whiter shade of pale. Don't think we are going to achieve the target - maybe half of it if lucky.

Working at home today and really not a good thing as I tend to sit at the computer and look at everything to do with conception and pg. Going to make a cup of green tea. Bella another thing to add to your list of conception tactics. Apparently green tea is very good for increasing the amount of egg white CM - not the most pleasant taste but all in a good cause

Bella23 · 12/04/2005 11:12

DQ - Have EVERYTHING crossed for you.....another 48 hours.......keep busy busy busy!
We need to keep the BFPs coming........

Nemo1977 · 12/04/2005 11:12

ooooooooooo DQ it is possible cos i said i was i just felt it and da dahhhh please be joing me hun...all of u be joinging..lol

wendy11 · 12/04/2005 11:15

DQ

48 hours
2880 mins
172800 seconds

Probably a bit less by now!!

Bella23 · 12/04/2005 11:19

Wendy - right guess what I am buying today then..........Green tea! It better be cheap young lady and I have a sneaking feeling that it tastes gross!!!
Just done a quick internet search and it seems you are correct.

wendy11 · 12/04/2005 11:35

Bella - Twinings Pure Green Tea - about 99p. You can get green teas with various other flavours but afraid I have this thing that the pure one is bound to be better. It does taste a bit odd but I find a little bit of chocolate helps - a bit like a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down

Bella23 · 12/04/2005 11:44

Wendy - have just found some green tea in the kitchen at work so am sat here drinking it......yep it tastes a bit grim, not as bad as I was expecting, not as bad as that red bush tea if you've ever had it. The back of the packet goes on about anti-oxidants so sounds all very healthy. I tell you what ladies, this time last year I was happily boozing away with a few fags ........who would have thought I would be a teetotal non smoking hippie drinking green tea in a desperate bid to be bare foot and pregnant!!!!!!!!

george32 · 12/04/2005 11:53

Thanks for your kind words guys. Makes me feel better about having time off. DQ I'm so sorry. Your loss must have been dreadful.

I so hope it is a BFP for you DQ. Can you have another test tomorrow? How about putting the picture into member profiles or for sale? I know it doesn't fit there but they are the only places you can put images I think. You are sneaky with your tests!!

Bella stop drinking!! I had a look on-line & a few articles came up connecting it with increased risk of birth defects
