ewcm is egg white cervial mucus... much better - fairy snot lol

littlemiss26 · 09/01/2009 20:24

hi gir;s

AF is 'Aunt Flo' which is period and BFP is 'big fat positive' as in positive preg test. Also, BFN is big fat negative

loads of jargon

spats · 09/01/2009 21:02

I have to join as i just lol at AF= auntie fanny I am due AF anyday and not sure if that makes me mid sept as feel i will jinx if i check dates too early. Lost where i am with my cycle as it keeps changing (was dead 28 before ttc now ttc it keeps tricking me, how does it know??)x

turtle23 · 10/01/2009 07:12

Symptom spotting will be the death of me. Only 6 DPO so waaay too early but my coffee tasted so bad this morning I tipped it down the sink....

Twiglettini · 10/01/2009 08:39

It's so easily done, isn't it... slept really badly, had about 1 minute of feeling very slightly nauseous at 5 this morning, and had indigestion last week (which i never get unless preg)- so mind running away with possibilities.

So glad it is not just me.

BeckyBendyLegs · 10/01/2009 10:01

I was wrong then with Aunt Fanny! I thought it came from the Famous Five, didn't they have an Aunt Fanny? Also surely Fanny is more relevant than Flo? Aunt Flo is in Bod I think. She was the little old lady with the bun.

I've always wondered what the BF meant in BFP and BFN. I wonder who first thought up these things.

I still like coffee and I really wanted a glass of wine last night but DH put his sensible hat on and made me a glass of grapefruit juice instead. I slept badly too, Twiglettini and had bizarre dreams again. A sign! I don't feel sick though. Hungry, not sick.

I'm cleaning the house today as if I didn't we'd live in a pit. I always feel down put upon when I am cleaning and DH is sat at the computer and has been for ages now. At least if I get pg he'll have to pull his weight more!!

BestLaidPlans · 10/01/2009 10:28

Hello, can I join too, please? AF due on the 20th, madly symptom spotting and trying not to get too excited! Nice to know there's so many others in the same boat.

Right, cleaning house, marking books, planning lessons and absolutely no more thinking about babies for at least a couple of hours...

bethyrose · 10/01/2009 12:31

Sorry to hear that your AF arrived Ilovebeingamummy, I really hope it happens for you soon. xx

Aunt Fanny! Made me laugh! If your looking for what all the abbreviations mean, look at the acronym list at the top of this page (under the heading 'useful stuff')

Bendylegs, my husband is exactly the same.....he'll happily sit at the computer while I do all the housework, cooking etc . It makes me mad. And he knows it. I'm hoping he will pull his weight a bit more now I'm pregnant. I'm definately going to be a lot more vocal about needing help, especially as we've got a 2 year old dd this time.

No symptoms yet. I tested again this morning just to make sure, and was very relieved to get the BFP. I should really move over to the September antenatal thread, but am a bit reluctant. Perhaps I'll just lurk here for a while? xx

Twiglettini · 10/01/2009 13:26

I've never looked on line at things like this before, so thought it was just me symptom spotting and doing early preg tests - very nice to meet you all (in cyberspace!) and realise I'm not the only obsessed person about it all.

I've a question: I think I ovulated on about day 8 or 9 ish using ewcm as a guide (which has always worked before), but think this is very early for me as always have had 28 day cycles before (which would mean ov on day 14). Is it possible to ovulate this early???

Can't believe I didn't make a note of last period and can't remember from what I was doing - too much going on with preparations for Christmas!

Very pleased for you Bethyrose and Very good luck for the rest of us.

BeckyBendyLegs · 10/01/2009 13:32

I ovulate early too. I tend to get fairy snot around day 8-10 and I thought I was strange. But I seem quite consistently early. My cycles are normally dead on 28 days too.

I know when my AF came last month because I was 12 days late last month and you can imagine I was hopping off the walls by then! It was coming up to Christmas and the tests were negative but no AF!!! I was just so happy when it finally arrived last month (on my dad's birthday 22 December).

I'm off to watch last night's celebrity big brother as DS1 is learning how to type with DH and DS2 is asleep having his nap.

My only symptoms so far are being blocked up and feeling a bit not quite normal. We'll see

Twiglettini · 10/01/2009 13:55

You must have been frantic - I can't imagine 12 days late but no BFP - poor you.

Thanks for the info BeckyBendyLegs - sounds hopeful that I did ovulate that early as that was the time that we had sex (am I allowed to say that out loud?!!!) and sadly didn't for ages after as I was ill for over a week, so really hope it was the right time.

How exciting, post has just come as I write this and my cheapy strip preg tests have turned up - might have to test one out...

Then, good idea, will also watch recorded CBB while DD2 sleep and DH is out with the others.

(makes self nice cup of tea, stretches out on sofa for an hour of mindless viewing)

BeckyBendyLegs · 10/01/2009 14:49

I've just watched CBB with a cup of tea and some quality street. Lovely. House is quiet as DS1 is still with DH playing on the computer and DS2 is asleep. Don't know what to do now!

Twiglettini · 10/01/2009 15:01

Talk to me, though DD2 is about to wake up!

Twiglettini · 10/01/2009 15:05

Did try out the teeny weeny strip preg test and got a BFN. I know it is prob still too early, but am now thinking I'm not preg as having no symptoms and would be too too lucky and lovely as sis is newly preg... wait and see

BeckyBendyLegs · 10/01/2009 17:46

I took DS1 into town in the end and we browsed the bookshops and had a nice latte (tasted lovely) in his favourite cafe.

It might still be too early to test - if your AF is still not due yet until at least tomorrow but possibly end next week.

Do you have any 'AF coming' symptoms?

I just feel a bit weird but could be coming down with something (has fooled me in the past!).

Twiglettini · 10/01/2009 18:14

Don't normally get pre AF symptoms apart from occasional bl*y bad grumpy mood, but I get that throughout the month anyway, so not a good indicator.
hope you are not coming down with anything and that it is weirdy early pregnancy feeling - fingers crossed.

BeckyBendyLegs · 11/01/2009 09:51

Got really bad indigestion again. This has always been an early sign of pg in the past for me but it could be just wishful thinking. Going to the in-laws to have 'granny food' (what we call Sunday dinner) today.

Twiglettini · 11/01/2009 19:43

Hope your granny food was delicious and gave you pregnancy related indigestion!

irishmumwannabe · 12/01/2009 08:11

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately I had a visitor in the night - oh well roll on next month.

turtle23 · 12/01/2009 08:56

My temp is higher than usual for this time of month same as first pg...oooooooh I have to stop this!

BeckyBendyLegs · 12/01/2009 09:19

I have 7 days to go until AF is due. Seems like forever. Feel really normal today! I go from convincing myself I must be pg to convincing myself that as again, this month, not pg. It's just too stressful!

iloverosycheeks · 12/01/2009 09:53

got five days to go - feeling very unpregnant sorry to hear about AF irishmum

Twiglettini · 12/01/2009 10:36

Morning all, Sorry you're not preg, Irishmumwannabe. I do exactly the same BeckyBL, one minute I feel all excited at thought that I might be preg, then desperately try to convince myself that I'm not.

Fingers crossed for those still waiting.

Twiglettini · 12/01/2009 10:42

(had a few moments of slight nausea this morning...hmm, what could that mean???!!!)

BeckyBendyLegs · 12/01/2009 18:04

I felt a bit sick this afternoon after eating a pear drop! What are we like?? Who in their right mind wants to feel sick!
