Hello.. Anyone fancy joining me?! I ovulated over New Year and hoping, hoping, hoping to get a BFP in a couple of weeks!

irishmumwannabe · 08/01/2009 08:41

bethyrose that's absolutely briliant news - so glad to have one BFP on this thread for a starter - hopefully we'll get a few more now.

Becky that's interesting what you said about indigestion and wind because I had the worst indigestion ever a few days ago. Now it may be just cos I ate something that didn't agree with me but I never get indigestion.

As for breaking wind - lets just say that I have been trumping a little more than usual (sorry if TMI) - I'm in sympton spotting hell - I've to wait until Sunday or Monday - (Irishmumwannabe steps away from the hpt)

Anyway - welcom to whatsfortea, ilovebingamummy and blondie - hope this one is eth right month for you all

Bringon hte BFPs.

irishmumwannabe · 08/01/2009 08:43

Gosh my spelling is atrocious - that's what I get for being on this in work and hoping no one looks over my shoulder - no one here knows I'm ttc.

Sorry for teh spelling. I'bve made a NY resolution to spell better on Internet forums.

turtle23 · 08/01/2009 08:58

Hope nobody notices I'm here other than you lot!! Hi, am really hoping that this will be the month for a DC2. I'm due on the 19th and trying not to get my hopes up....

aideesmum · 08/01/2009 09:07

Hi all,

I'll join you as really hoping for a BFP this month.

Can anyone tell me that when you start seeing the clear egg-white like discharge are you actually ovulating on that day? I've had it for 6 days now and not sure when I actually ovulate? Please educate me

Thanks

BeckyBendyLegs · 08/01/2009 09:17

I don't know the scientific answer aideesmum but I always feel much more up for a bit of rumpy pumpy on the days I start getting 'fairy snot' so perhaps that means ovulation. Before this time round of TTCing I didn't use tests to find out when I was oving and I just relied on my body: got pregnant three times that way!

Wind is definitely a symptom. As is (TMI alert) being a bit blocked up. Also a snotty nose is a symptom. Having strange dreams. Unsettled sleep. The list is endless. Anyone suffering from any of those? I had very bizarre dreams last night but it might have been the curry I had for tea, which also gave me indigestion!

blondie80 · 08/01/2009 10:46

congrats bethyrose!! hope all goes well for you. xx

aideesmum, if you just get at it from cd9 to cd16 that's your best chance!

this tww is driving me crazy!! and i'm heading on hol this sunday so don't know whether or not to bring a clearblue with me or not cause af will be due while i'm away!!

irishmumwannabe · 08/01/2009 11:17

Oh Becky stop tempting me to symptom spot - I've got a snotty nose, and am a bit blocked up too. God I coudl be you know - but the snotty nose is probably the flu that's going around the office.

I had a weird dream about work last night too .... (irishmum might be buying an early hpt on the way home)

On the ewcm question, I'm not sure either but do feel quite randy as well when it's around (DH doesnt' complain about that). The best thing to do is as blondie says - try frmo cd8/9 - cd/16 (if you have a fairly normal cycle) and then you should be in with a chance.

BeckyBendyLegs · 08/01/2009 11:52

I just had a weird experience at our local toddler group (to which I took DS2 this morning). I knelt really hard, accidentally, on a play dough cutter and it hurt my knee so much I literally saw stars and was on the point of fainting when I got slowly better. That is so weird. Isn't feeling faint a symptom?? Or am I totally plucking?

irishmumwannabe · 08/01/2009 12:32

Oh yeah feeling faint is definitely a symptom - I mean you hear of people fainting and not realising they're pregnant until after they have fainted.

Not sure really - at this stage everything could be a symptom but I've not really got any AF symptoms so...

(irishmum twiddles her thumbs and looks around for something to distract her)

FlorenceB · 08/01/2009 12:43

Wow Bethyrose - that's great news!!! I am only 6 dpo - I thought about having a go on Sunday which would make me 9 dpo?! Or is that crazy!? When I was pregnant last time, I tested on day 8 and it was negative and on day 11 it was a positve! So who knows!!! Maybe I will hold out til Monday?!

OP posts:
BeckyBendyLegs · 08/01/2009 12:59

Hold out for as long as you can bare it! With DS1 I tested when my AF was 2 weeks late because I knew the result anyway by then and was too scared to face the truth! DH had to force me to take the test. We had been TTCing but I was sooo nervous about being pg at that time!

LadyMetroland · 08/01/2009 16:55

BeckyBendyLegs - 'fairy snot' made me laugh aloud

Am only 4dpo here and SO bored of waiting already.

LittleMissBliss · 08/01/2009 18:59

Hi all i'd like to join i'm waiting for af at end of this month and here's hoping. I've been trying for 5 months or so but only had 3 afs. Only gave up bf 14mnth ds completely in December so fingers crossed that it will help me concieve.

RubyBuckleberry · 08/01/2009 21:00

Can I join in! I am ttc #1 since September after coming off the pill. Had been on the pill for ten years... I thought it would all be quite simple but this TTC thing is a minefield!!! And it so difficult to chill out and let nature do its thing!

Last month felt sick... and starving! and napped a lot - also had odd taste in my mouth and was salivating like a dog! Then I was really quite ill with a sore throat and nasty cough. Was feeling really odd so did a clearblue test on day 28 of 30/31 day cycle and it was BFP! We were soooo excited... The day before Christmas Eve too! Anyway, on Boxing day AF arrived bang on time!!! I've read it's called a chemical pregnancy. I was soooo confused and upset although figured if I hadn't done a test I wouldn't have known, so no early testing for me anymore.

Anyway, now on day 14 so about to start the 2ww...

RubyBuckleberry · 08/01/2009 21:03

BeckyBendyLegs - fairy snot hahahahahaha

blondie80 · 09/01/2009 09:20

just a quick question to see what you lot think.

i'm off to an all inc holiday on sunday, due af next friday, what's your opinions on drinking alcohol? i never really go over the top with drink, but it's free and everyone else will be drinking. (there are loads of us going) how much does it matter if i am pg, but won't know till near the end of the holiday?

KatB · 09/01/2009 09:39

Hi can I join?
I'm nor CD21 and on the 1ww. Not sure I'm too optimistic this month, had an early mc in Dec and havent been checking ov, just BD days 8 to 15 (missed a couple tho I'm not as shagtastic as some of you!)
Anyway I already have 3 little (big now) accidents aged 12, 10 and 5 so this will be my 4th and LAST!!

Blondie I wouldn't personally worry about drinking, with my 3 since they weren't planned I drank on the '2ww time period' and they are all big healthy kids. Obviously as I'm trying now I wouldn't get paraletic but a few bevvies won't do any harm. Enjoy your holiday, hopefully it will take your mind off the 2ww!

The 2ww is driving me mad, I'm in my final year at university and have loads to do but instead I'm symptom spotting and wanting to POAS....

Hope we all get our BFPs this month!!

blondie80 · 09/01/2009 09:50

thanks kat, trying to symptom spot too but there just ain't any at all this month

but fingers crossed for us all!

iloverosycheeks · 09/01/2009 10:18

Congrats bethyrose !! Lets hope for a few more BFP in the next week or two! I am on CD 22 AF due on the 15th - am prob not going to test unless I am late as went a bit testing crazy last two months. I havent had any symptoms since the mild cramping but will just have to wait and see I suppose. Good luck everyone!

Ilovebeingamummy · 09/01/2009 12:44

I'm out. Af arrived in earnest this morning, bang on time, CD34. I had convinced myself it was my month for a sticky one.

Am honestly more devastated than with the mc... at least I had my bfp for a while then.

Ilovebeingamummy · 09/01/2009 12:46

bfp's i should say

BeckyBendyLegs · 09/01/2009 14:04

Oh Ilovebeingamummy sorry your AF has just arrived Good luck for next month.

I'm feeling sorry for myself today as I've just had a filling done (well, at 12.15am) and can't eat until 2.15pm and I'm STARVING and I can't feel my mouth or tongue and feel like a dribbling wreck! I'm sure I'm not dribbling but feel like I am! I'm sooooo hungry.

I agree with Kat about drinking. I went skiing during my 2ww with DS1 and I was conscious that I could be pg so didn't get blotto but did drink wine with evening meal every night as it was free. He's turned out fine! I'd suggest take it easy but enjoy too!

My AF is due on 19th Jan so a while to wait yet...

Twiglettini · 09/01/2009 14:34

Hello Everyone, I'm new here and am a bit confused about all the abbreviations (showing my age??!) Have worked some out, and realise what they mean, but would love to know the actual abbreviations, e.g. AF, BFP thanks.

Ilovebeingamummy - so sorry you're not pregnant, how sad for you.

I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks in the summer and have been casually trying since then, but am feeling hopeful this month as did it at the right time with ewcm (sorry don't know all the correct abbreviations!) but didn't make a note of LMP, so don't quite know when to test.

Actually just done a test and was negative.

BeckyBendyLegs · 09/01/2009 17:28

AF = aunt fanny (I think) = period.
BFP = ? = positive result on pregnancy test.

I don't know what ewcm is but I call it fairy snot. I don't know what LMP is either.

When is your 'AF' due Twiglettini? Negative might just mean too early yet.

Twiglettini · 09/01/2009 17:37

Thanks for the info, BBL. LMP = Last menstrual Period. Weirdly for me I forgot to make a note of when my last period was, so am not sure when it is due, but could be any time from 11th - 15th, so yes, it really was too early to test. My sister has just told me she is very, very early days preg with a longed for baby and I got a bit excited about us both being pregnant together - hence the early test!!

Good luck with the waiting.
