Good luck and positive vibes to us all!

I will be 39 before I can try again. I want to give up. I can't do this anymore. and I wish I wasn't in work.

beanieb · 23/02/2009 15:20

Congratulations sparkly I am so happy for you and missed the news when I was here earlier.

Congrats comma am sending out good wishes that your line gets darker x

glastochick · 23/02/2009 15:58

waves to beanieb. Seems like an age since I've had a cycle buddy. In the nicest of possible ways, I wish I wasn't still seeing you here though.

SparklyPseudonym · 23/02/2009 17:41

glasto and beanie - am gutted to see you both back at the top.
beanie It's so %$%&% stupid!! I'll be keeping everything crossed for a birthday BFP for you.

Comma2 · 23/02/2009 18:53

Thanks ya all! How sweet of you. The line was still there this morning, but no darker yet.

Beanie, so sorry this is not working out smoothly. I suppose you couldn't have the test done somewhere else? Might be worth to give the office a ring and ask?
I know it prob doesn't help, but I have a bunch of girl friends over 40 and pregnant/with new babes. Hang in there.

I read of a study where they gave baby aspiring to unexplained infertile women, and significantly more got pregnant. Was just something I foudn on the web, but I took some this cycle. Did it help? Mibbe.

SparklyPseudonym · 23/02/2009 19:53

Comma A very good friend of mine did the baby asprin thing and texted me today to tell me to take it! I haven't looked into it yet but she was TTC for 4 years and then had a few m/cs. The baby asprin did the trick and she now has 1YO DD.....I've been told not to test or temp anymore by some of the girls here and I'm determined not to as I know I'll only worry. Sending you lots of sticky vibes.

beanieb · 23/02/2009 20:36

thank you Comma. I will call and see because I don't think I am being pushy enough, the place I am having it is not the same as the place I go for the consultation so maybe they could do it ?

How much baby asprin do people take?

Molliemooma · 24/02/2009 10:36

Comma Congratulations
Dawni Hello and welcome, gosh 14 years is one heck of a long time! Fingers crossed we can bring you some luck
Zen Now you are back on the list that's one more hurdle you have crossed, well done
Beanie Bloody NHS are so crap, it seems to be a common theme everywhere, although that isn't going to make you feel any better. You can't give up, we won't let you, just keep venting on here, if all we can do is offer a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen then that's we'll do. I really feel for you and understand the frustration ] I can't imagine you not being pushy enough, take all your frustration out on the person that answers the phone and get something sorted, tell them it's just not good enough and if necessary write and complain, if it only speeds things up for the next person it will make you feel a little better. The baby aspirin is 75mg daily up to 34wks btw.
Sparkly I am definately going to take the baby aspirin when I get my bfp, the registrar I saw recently couldn't tell me to do it officially but said it wouldn't hurt and if it made me feel better and more positive then it could only do good, but she stated there was no research to show a definate link between successful pg/s, but they always cover their arses don't they?!
Glasto Long time no hear, hope you are OK?

beanieb · 24/02/2009 12:57

Thanks Mollie

I have been to the gp and they are going to refer me for some counselling so I feel a bit more positive and in control today.

SparklyPseudonym · 24/02/2009 13:12

Beanie Am pleased to read that your GP is being supportive. Could you take some time off work until you feel better?

beanieb · 24/02/2009 13:50

Am off work now, and planning in going back Thursday

Jaamy · 24/02/2009 13:58

Oh Beanie. Big hugs to you. GLad your GP is being bhelpful, if somewhat delayed. Sorry you've had to shout a bit to get some attention and hopefully making a bit of a fuss will kick them into action.Did your GP say whether he could do anything about getting your HSG elsewhere?
Can you stay off work any longer and get a really good rest? I'm not sure whether you enjoy your job. Perhaps the stress of that won't help. On the other hand if it is something that you enjoy it might prove a welcome distraction. x

blackrock · 24/02/2009 14:19

Have a hug Beanie, put you feet up and have a good rest. Agree with Jaamy on asking about HSG.

Molliemooma · 24/02/2009 15:31

Beanie I second the suggestions to take more time off work if you can (or will that stress you more?) I had counselling last year and found it invaluable, I really hope you get something out of it like I did

glastochick · 24/02/2009 16:29

Hi Mollie. I'm ok, thanks . Hanging in there. Just waiting now for our referral to be processed to the IVF clinic. Every day passes so slowly. DH has had a barrage of tests but the Urology department haven't been able to locate a blockage or anything obvious which is causing his azoospermia. They have recommended a biopsy which, I believe, is carried out by the IVF clinic. It's frustrating because I have known this is what he would need all along but we have been playing the NHS game. We can't afford to not take advantage of our one free NHS cycle.

I chased up our referral today and our consultant's secretary told me the letter to the IVF clinic has been dictated but can't be signed until Monday when our consultant is back. I guess we should get a letter from them within a couple of weeks.

Sorry I haven't been able to post much on the boards. It has just been a little too much for me but I do pop back from time to time to see what's happening.

Beanie, I second the suggestion for time off work, but I am talking from the perspective of someone who doesn't like her job

Comma2 · 25/02/2009 15:19

I will try and find the aspirin study.

Baby aspirin is I think 81 mg, on the Bayer pack it says baby in the fine print on the side. I took 1 a day (plus or minus, not too good on doing anything regular). If nothing else, I don't think it hurts.

Just called the doc, they did a blood test yesterday, and she said it's a definite positive! I don't think the chemical one was definite at any point, so excellent!

Right. I give you all a big fat hug and babydust to all!

(btw, it is a known fact that in a forum one person never gets pregnant alone, but everybody together....)

Comma2 · 25/02/2009 15:32

Ok, of course couldn't find article again (isn't it strange how you can never find anythign twice?) but erad around a bit.

Google aspirin infertility, and there is lots of info. Seems the general tenor is that nobody really knows if it helps, but it can improve uterus lining (which I think might have been a problem for me).

On the other hand, some say it might mess with ovulation, so if that's under investigation I'd def ask the doctor.
