Afternoon ladies,
How is everyone? You've all been very quiet over the weekend.
I've been keeping busy as usual. Have a tonne of work to do but still can't face it - I might as well enjoy myself before the shit hits the fan . My mates' dad is still in hospital but should be moving to residential care tomorrow - at least there will be someone else to wash his clothes and clean his dentures - lovely!!
Did a test on the weekend and it was a BFN although I'm pretty sure I could see a line if I really, really, really, really squinted. Noone else could though so I'm sure it was wishful thinking. Still waiting for AF to show her ugly face.....
HTGG I can't drink either. I'm still suffering from a few too many drinks on Saturday night. It was great to let my hair down though. Hope your DD is better soon.
Fruity Hello!! I'm here. Not feeling great myself. My sister has a bug and I'm sure it's coming to get me.
Scully Sorry AF got you. Am thinking of you and sending you lots of love.
Ei How are you since we both seem to have found our lives . How are the OPKs going?
Mibbes Are you enjoying your itouch? Can't wait to see those pics.
Cricri How are you feeling? Anymore twinges? Did you test-drive the pool?
Mollie How aru lovely lady? Thinking of you. Please let me know how doc goes tomorrow.
Kate Hope you're not working too hard.
Teehee Well done to your DP on the purchases!! This is my 3rd week back to uni and final placement starts mid-Nov. Am slightly nervous but I'll get through it. As far as TTC goes - I think we're just going to 'see what happens' until after christmas. I need to focus on work for now and it would be hellish suffering through the first 12 weeks whilst in school.
Emmsy Have been thinking of you lots. Hope you're getting help during these first weeks. Lots and lots of love xxx

kate2179 · 13/10/2008 23:11

Evening!

Sorry for being awol, we had a ridiculous weekend and I've had a heap of work to do... haven't really achieved much though!

It's been all change here, and a horribly expensive time but I'm trying not to think about that... We picked up DH's 'new' car on sunday, an x reg golf, and.... chose a puppy!

Will have to download some photos from my phone onto my profile, she's the cutest little thing EVER! (apart from Nemo!)She's a gorgeous little Westie who will be 8 weeks old tomorrow She's SO TINY! We're picking her up on sunday - and [scared]! She doesn't have a name yet so any suggestions are welcome! We thought she might be called Daisy but she doesn't look like a Daisy. She might be a Mabel (bit random!) or possibly Lola, although some friends of ours have a spaniel called Lola so not sure if we could do that...

We had our first scan for our first mc a year ago today. First scan of many as it turned out.... Not easy, but I'm glad it's now 'now' not 'then' - don't know if that makes sense! Next anniversary is 3rd Nov which was the erpc. The worst time was the period between 13th oct and 3rd nov tbh, which was spent alternatively hoping, crying, not knowing whether to hope... etc etc... The worst.

But now we have little Lola/Mabel/whatever-her-name-is!

Thinking of you Scully & ei - most of here know what you're going through

Fruity you're never 17 weeks already, surely?? Why do everyone else's pg's fly by while you're own pass like time's standing still ... fact of life I think.

Sorry for the me me me post, will be back on, hopefully being less selfish, as soon as I have time. But for now, sweet dreams to you all

scully · 14/10/2008 03:01

Thx ladies, knew you would all understand. Not being pregnant this last time was hard as I need to have a June baby for all 3 children to have one year at primary school together, silly I know, but I really wanted that to happen, and it would have easily if either of the m/c hadn't happened
& I seem to know a truckload of people who are pregnant currently, some days I cope with it better than others.
dh's lack of interest isn't helping eitherbut thinking back, the other 4 pregnancies were conceived without us being like rabbits so maybe we can be lucky one more time
Ei, sorry to hear about your dh. We have a shortage of tradies out here, he would get a visa and a choice of jobs down here
I was in Ikea yesterday, it is identical to the Croydon store, dh and I felt right at home when we went to this store for the first time Bought a Billy bookcase for dd1's room, finally after 2yrs here, she has somewhere to put her library of books. & bought her a pink Jules swivel chair, so her room is just about done now.
Can't believe it's 2yrs on 16/10 since we flew out of the UK, time has gone so quickly.
Hi to everyone, hope you're all having a good week

scully · 14/10/2008 03:05

Sorry, that should read 'needed' to have a June baby.
Reading that back, I sound like a moany cow for wanting no.3 to arrive by a certain time, am very appreciative of the dd's I already have, just always loved the idea of all 3 together at school.
Anyway, guess it will happen when it's meant to.

MollieMooma · 14/10/2008 10:07

Just a quickie from me, will catch up properly later.
Scully Kate & EI Sending you all huge hugs and some positive thoughts, anniversary's are very painful and we can't escape them unfortunately. I really hope that they all pass as well as they can and without too much heartache

I went to GP this morning to discuss why AF hasn't arrived 8 wks after ERPC and nearly 2 wks since HCG levels showed negative. She's recorded the chemical pg on my notes which is a good start, she wasn't too happy about the crap advice I'd had from the hosp and the treatment at the consultants appt. She has asked me to wait 2 wks to see if AF appears, once it does I'm to book a 21 day test to ensure cycle is back on track and that I'm OVing. Also she's told me that next time i get a BFP I should book a HCG test straight away at the surgery and they will monitor it for me. She's been so helpful and supportive, I might just have to write a letter about her

cricri · 14/10/2008 10:25

Still here and no further twinges Sorry to hear about painful EDDs coming up for several of you. (((Hugs))) to you.
Mollie Sounds like you've got a great GP there - it's heartening to hear that there are some around. Fingers crossed AF arrives soon and you know where you are. It's good that you're going to be monitored closely next time around too.
Ei Sorry to hear about your husband being made redundant Times are tough for tradesmen at the moment aren't they? Hopefully things will pick up again very soon. Is he thinking about taking the job which means working away during the week in the meantime or is that just not feasible?
Kate Can't wait to see pictures of your Westie! I like Lola. I went round to a friend's for coffee yesterday and she's got a 12 week old dachshund called Milly. So sweet
Sparkly Glad your friend's dad is better. Good luck with all your studying too.
Fruity Hope you're feeling a bit better. DH had a really bad cold last week which was really unpleasant so I sympathise.
Georgie Hope you don't get the bug Mollie's got - yuck! Hope your concrete was poured and manages to dry before the rain later today. Builders are just tidying up here and finishing off the outside. Work starts inside on Thursday.
Had the trial run with the birthing pool at the weekend as planned and after a slight hiccup on Saturday when we realised we didn't have much hot water (it was only on for 1h a day - it's now on constant!) everything went smoothly on Sunday and I was able to enjoy a relaxing 90 minutes floating around in my pool Emptying it took a while, as did drying the liner, cover etc but it's all done now. Feel confident that it should go smoothly on the day!

HeyThereGhoulyGirl · 14/10/2008 12:13

AAAARRRGGGHHHHHHH this frickin' building work is driving me INSANE .

More delays. More bollocks from the builders.

No wonder I'm not friggin pg. It's all their bloody fault for stressing me out so much.

Anyone know any voodoo?!

kate2179 · 14/10/2008 18:29

Poor Ghouly! I can totally sympathise. Our building works were a total nightmare. Although you know it'll be worth it in the end that isn't much comfort when you're mid disater which seems to be going on forever is it? Really hope they get their act together soon for you xx

Ei so sorry I forgot to mention your DH yesterday, I said it was a very self-centred post What a rubbish thing to happen. Really hope he manages to find something else quickly. It just never rains but it pours doesn't it...

Mollie glad to hear your GP was supportive. However..... you must do whatever is right for you but I'd strongly suggest that you DON'T go for repeat HCG tests next time round. I promised Nauseous over on Avengers I'd explain about that, so I'll go and do it in a minute. Do you have Lesley Regan's book? She says exactly the same thing, doesn't even offer the tests to her ladies. And with good reason imo. I'm sorry to go on about this, but after our experience it's somehting I really feel quite strongly about.

Cricri very of your pool!! Not long to go now!

Emmsy [waitingpatientlyfor-photos-emoticon] Hope you're not doing too much (bet you are though!) Can't wait for the birth story!

Scully I can totally understand what you mean about your DDs. I always hoped for a baby born between April and August, but now I'd settle for one on Boxing Day as long as it was healthy Glad you had fun in ikea. I went to the croydon one a week or so ago, picked up some great tables to use as bedside tables in our future nursery spare room, only £15 each, bargain!

Hope you're feeling better fruity - a cold with no drugs sounds rubbish!

I called my consultant today to chase my test results... Apparently the thrombophilia results are back but they're with the haematology consultant... and we have to wait for him to contact us to let us know what they are once he's looked at them... Great huh?!? The nice lady told me to call back in a week if I haven't heard anything. Because of where I am in my cycle I don't mind too much (OV'd the weekend just gone)but it's still pretty irritating... No point getting too stressed about it cos we're still waiting for the blardy smear results. God my life is great!

On a more exciting note, bought a crate, bed, collar, toys, lead for little Mabel/Lola last night I CANNOT WAIT til sunday, this week is going SO slowly!

Hello to everyone I haven't mentioned, hope you're all ok

SparklyPseudonym · 15/10/2008 11:23

Morning ladies,
Feeling crap today so decided to stay at home. Have been lying in bed most of the morning and now I've moved to watch some tv. Wonder if it's PMT?
Had a text from Emmsy last night. She's doing well and trying to establish some sort of routine but has been so busy as you can imagine,
Ei As I said in my text, I'm so sorry . What a crap situation to be in - especially with Friday to face. If there's anything I can do then please let me know. xxx
Kate Awww how exciting. I'm very . I'm so puppy broody. Both my sister and brother have puppies (well they're 8 months now) and I'd love one. As DD says, "Daddy says we're not allowed a dog, he said we can get a baby instead!" I love the name Lola. Can't wait to see some pics.
Scully Wanting your children in school at the same time isn't silly at all...I really want a 3.5 year age gap and am still finding it hard to accept that it isn't going to happen. [HUGS] to you. xx
Mollie I'm so glad your GP is being so supportive. Do you think she'd take me on . Thinking of you xxx
Cricri How are you feeling today? Glad the hot water problem has been solved.
HTGG Tell them you're sending Emmsy's girls round to sort them out!! I don't envy you. Our building work was so stressful. Hopefully it will be worth it in the end.

Hello to everyone else.

OP posts:
scully · 15/10/2008 12:53

Hope you're feeling better Sparkly
Have bought some preseed tonight, hopefully it will arrive in time for this cycle, don't know why I hadn't done it earlier, but hopefully cycle 4 (of being allowed to try), is lucky.

SparklyPseudonym · 15/10/2008 12:55

Scully Well done on the pre-seed purchase. It worked for me last time round so fingers crossed for you.

OP posts:
teeheelaydee · 15/10/2008 13:26

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been around much. I seem to be getting some energy back so have been doing a bit more rather than spending really too much time on MN and the internet in general. It's been pretty quiet in here anyway and you all seem to be busy. Also back to working full time days now and that has been a bit of a shock.

Ei So sorry about your DH. Just one thing after another hey? Hope he finds something soon. How far away from home would he be if he took the job?

Sparkly Sorry you feel rubbish today, you have been incredibly busy so I guess it's just caught up with you. A duvet day will no doubt help

Ei, Scully & Kate Seems to be lots of anniversaries at the moment which are always hard, but the day will come and go and you will keep going. I hope they are not as bad as you expect.

Scully Totally understand about the June thing. I think we can put extra pressure on ourselves and I'm sure when it does happen for you you won't even give it another thought and it will happen.

Cricri Love the visual of emptying and drying the pool - don't worry if there is one thing you will have with a new born it's bags of time to do things like that!!! Me thinks a job for DH & other helpers.

Mollie So glad you have a sympathetic ear with your GP after your recent experiences but agree that maybe the HCG tests could do with a bit more investigation and if you don't have it the Lelsey Regan book is excellent. I really recommend it.

Georgie Hope you now have the poo and the sick and the builders under control. It is awful and so unsettling having work done. I used to dread coming home at night to the mess and mayhem. Now I am sitting in my gorgeous kitchen and love it so it will end and be worth.

Hi to everyone else. I will try to keep up so that you don't have to put up with such a long essay next timexx

HeyThereGhoulyGirl · 15/10/2008 20:48

Evening. I am here. Just knackered. Wanted to say to hi to everyone. Am missing you ladies. But all energy's going into trying to keep calm with the builders. Am not sure whether to laugh or cry at them. Just can't see this ever being finished. Will post more tomorrow. If you hear a big bang from the Wimbledon area you know that I've shot the bastards . xx

cricri · 15/10/2008 20:58

Evening ladies!
Kate Hope you don't have to wait too long for the consultant to call you - how frustrating on top of everything else. Hopefully getting everything ready for the puppy's arrival is keeping your mind off things to a certain extent - can't wait to see pictures!
Sparkly Hope you're feeling better this evening. Sounds as though everything has caught up with you but hope it doesn't last too long. Thanks for the update from Emmsy. Do pass on my love next time you text her
Scully Fingers crossed that the pre-seed works!
TeeHee Good to "see" you again. Know what you mean about spending too much time on the Internet Have just discovered Scrabble on FB and I think the whole of the AN thread is playing one another. Great fun but what a time-waster! Fortunately I'm not very busy atm and I'm officially on maternity leave from Friday so don't feel too guilty!
Nothing else to report here - AN check today, measuring spot on for dates, got my paperwork for hb and head is 3/5 engaged so all good

cricri · 15/10/2008 20:59

Georgie Sorry to hear about builders If you decide to sack them and need some decent ones then let me know...

HeyThereGhoulyGirl · 16/10/2008 09:29

It would have been my EDD today. .

scully · 16/10/2008 11:28

Hope your day is ok HTGG Hope the builders get their s**t together very soon, frustrating isn't it, when people can't do what they are being paid to
2yrs today since we arrived in Australia, managed to fit a bit into those two yrs - 2 m/c, bought a house, dd1 started school, dd2 had eye surgery & I started working again after a 18mth break. Sort of feels like it's gone by quickly
Hi to everyone

cricri · 16/10/2008 12:01

Georgie

kate2179 · 16/10/2008 15:46

Georgie

teeheelaydee · 16/10/2008 19:11

Ahhh Georgie hope today wasn't too bad and you took all your frustration out on the builders whether they deserved it or not.

Kate Meant to say yesterday that I think Mabel is the coolest name for a dog - particularly a little cute one!

Cricri I take it when you say 'officially' that means you've been winding down a bit, can't believe how close it is now.

Going to search the library website now to see if I can find some books on making blinds. I painted our yucky sink unit last weekend. I don't think I'm nesting just relieved to have some energy at last.

MollieMooma · 16/10/2008 21:29

EI How is your DH doing? So sorry to hear the news of his redundancy I hope tomorrow isn't too hard on you hun, sending you huge hugs x x
CriCri LOL at visions of you on hands and knees trying to dry out the pool! Hope you can relax now you've had a practice and bring on the maternity leave, bet you can't wait x
Kate I've been looking out for your post on avengers to explain why I shouldn't have HCG levels checked when next pg, I'm not patient am I Fantastic news on the puppy, glad she's distracting you, DH and I like Mabel. I think you should ring and chase consultant tomorrow and not wait til Tuesday, what harm can it do I'm gonna shout puppy pics, puppy pics all day Sunday til they are on your profile
Fruity How are you feeling?
Sparkly Hope you are feeling better today? I'm sure my GP would have you on her books, you could converse by webcam
Scully Fingers crossed the pre-seed works for you, how are you feeling?
TeeHee I've got the Lesley Regan book just haven't got far with it I will make a more concerted effort to read it now things are levelling out for me. Very impressed at your DIY skills, I'd like some blinds too!!
Georgie You have so much going on at the moment lovely, please try and relax a little and take some time out for yourself, all this stress is not good for you as I'm sure you know already, (and if you're like me you will stress about being stressed! ) I hope today went by without too much pain and heartache for you, sending you a hug too x x
Mibbes You OK?
Think that is everyone (apart from busy Emmsy of course)
Still no AF for me, but been a bit snappy slightly sore (.)(.) so I am really hoping she is on her way (never thought I'd say that!) Ijust want to get on with it now!

kate2179 · 16/10/2008 22:24

Sorry mollie , will go and do the post now... Hope it's worth waiting for! But do look up hcg in the Lesley Regan book, she basically says the same thing.

EisGotASeveredHeadinherHandbag · 16/10/2008 22:45
