Fruity Button looks gorgeous - the 4D scan pictures never fail to amaze me If you decide on a VBAC don't forget to take a photo in with you when you go into labour - gives you something to focus on
Ei Symptoms sound really promising, fingers crossed for you
Mollie Hope your hangover is better and I hope it was a good night!
Kate Hope your evening with your friends is going OK. Mollie has a very good point - what are they going to do when you have a baby?
Mibbes So pleased you are able to bf after the initial disappointment - that's great news Hope everything is going ok.
Emmsy Good to see you! How is everything going? How is gorgeous Amy? You'll have to put some more photos on your profile. Hope your DS is OK and has not had any more pains.
Hope everybody else is OK. No news from Scully for a few days which is unusual - hope she's OK. I see from MSN that Piper's wedding is very soon, today even?

scully · 14/12/2008 04:11

Hi everyone, no time to get on here last week. Still hot here, was 29deg at 9am this morning and I'm still struggling with ms. I'm 10wks tomorrow, so hopefully only another 2 or so weeks of feeling crap before I feel ok again, if it's like the dd's pregnancies. My nuchal scan is on 5/1 when I'll be 13wks and I have my first hospital/midwife appt on 31 Dec. Bit nervous about the nuchal, not just for checking viability in the 5wks since my last scan, but also given my age, if there are any other issues.
Your 4d scan pictures are great Fruity When can you test Ei, sounds promising
Good that breastfeeding is working out for you Mibbes, it's not always easy to master, I had trouble both times, but was at least prepared for the initial hassle, with dd2. And my sister is a qualified lactation consultant, so I had someone with some common sense to talk to, when necessary.
Know what you mean about changes of clothes Cricri, dd1 was nicknamed Pukiehontas, she threw up so much for the first 8mths or so , we were always having to change her and us.
Hi to everyone else, when the list is updated on Mon or later, could someone change me to 10wks - thx

MollieandtheIvy · 14/12/2008 15:39

Bella Hope your not feeling too bad
Fruity Love the new name and oh my your pictures are fantastic so clear and so amazing DS looks really cute
Sparkly How was your spa day and night out with sis yesterday?
Georgie Are you feeling better?
Mibbes So pleased for you that you are now BFing, make sure you get plenty of rest
EI Any more symptoms? I keep thinking of your dream, it has to come true like the others so everything is crossed for you
Kate How did last night go? Ditched em yet?
Scully sorry to hear your still suffering badly and the heat as well, I know we all wish we had warmer weather but when you feel crap you can't get away from it, at least we just crank up the central heating! Hope you feel better soon, not long til your nuchal, sending you some positive thoughts x

Had a very good night out with my friend on Friday, although I was dreading it all day, I haven't been out into town since the 2nd mc and I have zero confidence at the mo, so I was getting really worked up, but two bottles of wine later I was fine I did suffer yesterday though! Had a much more productive day today, decided to write my Christmas cards and I always use last years as a guide, unfortunately some of the close friends and family cards had messages saying how brill it was that we were finally pg, how our wishes had been answered etc etc, have to say I did have a blub and have now left them on the table to do later! Who would have thought last year we'd be back at square one 3 m/c's later. Oh well onwards and upwards to 2009!

ヘエエエエエエlp!!!!!&# 65281;!!

WhenFRUITYgotstuckupthechimney · 14/12/2008 17:42

There's something wrong with my log in name on the laptop. Having to use DP's log in so I can type. Just asked in the Geeky stuff thread what the hell is going on.
Bloody computers! Nowt but trouble I'll be back when I've sorted it out

WhenFRUITYgotstuckupthechimney · 14/12/2008 19:36

Sorted it out now. I think Ds has been playing about with the laptop.

Thanks for your lovely comments on DS2

Ei Still having good symptoms?
Scully If it's any consolation, my nausea and tiredness stopped at 10 weeks to the day. I hope yours ends very soon!
*Mibbes So pleased for you about the BFing. It can be incredibly difficult. I'm hoping and praying it won't be like that for me - it was last time. Had to give up after 5 weeks.
Mollie So pleased you got to let your hair down - You deserve to have the best year ever after last year!

Got PIL's here again. I'm starting to get a little fed up with it now. Was hoping for a nice relaxing quiet evening with DP. He invited them for dinner at last minute. Ah well I'm sitting here in my pj's and I don't care.
When they came to the door, MIL said "are you ready for bed then?" I said "Nope, just enjoying my relaxing evening " Hint hint.
Bloody DP. Wish he'd asked me 1st
He's off to Spain tomorrow for just one night with MIL so they can bring some of their stuff back.

I wouldn't mind them coming over but I see them almost everyday as I've been roped into picking up SIL from school almost everyday and bringing her back to mine and feeding her. She gets DS all wound up so makes my job a lot harder. I normally charge for doing school pick ups I might give MIL a hint by giving her my Ofsted reg number to give to tax credits.

I sound so mean but I think I've had my fair share of PIL's for the last few months.

It's so funny, I'm sitting here typing this while they are in the same room. In fact SIL is sitting right next to me - she's engrossed in "Elf at the moment so I'm safe

hohoholaydee · 14/12/2008 20:18

Evening ladies. Sorry Sparkly no photos yet - this weekend has gone past in a blur and have been really busy with house and christmas stuff and am now for some unexplainable reason in a bad 'Sunday night' mood. DP is doing my head in, he really hasn't done anything bad- just sat on the sofa ALL afternoon drinking wine and eating -peanuts, crisps, cheese- basically anything he can get his hands on, while I have been making truffles as presents and cooking lunch. Why do I care what he's doing? Anyway, once I've finished posting I am leaving the room so that I can't be irritated, cos I really don't think it's his fault! (Also his laptop has the fan going ALL the time and v/annoying)

Ei Sounds exciting - when can you realistically test, not that the realistically bit has ever stopped any of us before!

Fruity You sound as fed up as I am but I think you are more justified tbh. I should imagine you are sick to death of the PIL by now - I thought your DP had got the message - clearly not. But OMG your 4D pictures are amazing you can totally see what he looks like and what a cutie. Fantastic.

Mollie Glad you had a night out - each thing you do makes it easier. Also a bit of a cry never hurt anyone. You'll get there lovely and love your positive attitude for Kate so keep some of that to yourself.

Scully Great to see you. Hopefully not too much more sickness for you. 10 weeks already. Briliant.

Mibbes So pleased to here that Evan is BF. Glad you gave it another go, really hope it gets easier.

Cricri You really sound like you are getting the hang of things and starting to be able to leave Elise a little bit.

Hello to everyone else - I really am going to have to go before I hurt DP!

MollieandtheIvy · 15/12/2008 09:19

Well it looks as if this f**king crap year hasn't finished with us yet. Our family dog has been poorly, he was diagnosed a week ago with an auto-immune disease and unfortunately they had to make the decision last night to put him down. My Dad idolises him and is so upset, I'm gutted that Mum didn't call last night as my sister and I wanted to be with him as we knew my Dad couldn't do it Believe me I know it's for the best but I can't believe what shit has been thrown at us this year
Sorry for the rant, but I needed to get it off my chest

BellaHarry · 15/12/2008 13:20

Hey guys! I've been away in Suffolk at this really awkward family thing with HIS family.... I got aksed if I was pg so amny times; not drinking was a bore too, was knackered by 10:00 but in the middle of no where so wasn't allowed to drive back to guest house alone!! Grrr.

I've had a load of letters through from the hospital; one about an 1hr 15 min 'booking appointment'- what happens at this?? (12th Jan) and one for a 'nuchal scan' 21st Jan I am none the wiser as to what these involve even after reading the booklet HELP???

Been really worried about my friend last few days; she's 26 weeks pg and had violent food poisening from a dodgy chinese on sat night!!! Does anyone know much about this??

hernamewassanta I hope I am further along than 6 weeks but still don't understand how this dating thing works I have no idea when I ov'd and no idea when AF was due really as only just off pill!!

Fruity I can't believe those pictures!!!! I love them he's sooo real! (silly statement) I want one!! How did you organise that???! As for your neighbour with ADHD/Aspergers child, that IS very hard work your right, got a few at school, poor girl! We call our little suprise 'button' too! How sweet! So when can we meet up?? I have my niece on mon/tue and on my own with her tue, so could catch up together??

Sparkly I think I ov'd on tue and BD'd on sat that worked for me so fingers crossed!!
As for a private scan...I have no idea how I'd orgainise such a thing bu do feel really cheated that the GP said I'd be given a dating scan and it doesn't seem to be on the cards!!!!! Very angry!

Georgie Sorry to 'ear about your infection...hope it clears up realy soon?

Mibbes well done getting Evan to take the boob! Fab news!!

Ei I never imagined Ms would be a good thing but it is strangely reassuring that button's doing well!!

FruitynNutty · 15/12/2008 13:59

Afternoon girls

Teehee Well you and me both then, we should have spent Sunday eve together, what a pair of misery guts I think we are justified in our miserableness though having to cope with our lazy other halfs Plus we have an excuse, what with our hormones raging atm.

Mollie So so sorry about your family dog Was he old? This really has been a tough year for you hasn't it Thankfully it's nearly over and you can look forward to a fantastic 2009! {{{}}}

Bella Hey you! 1st of all, the booking in appointment won't take that long but the waiting around might You just need to go through all your medical history and boring stuff like that. If DH can be there too then he can give all his med history too. It's right dull so don't get excited.
At the nuchal scan (which is done around 12 weeks) they will take bloods from you (probably a few days before) and measure the fluid at the back of the baby's neck to see what the chances are of the baby having Down's syndrome. They will compare your bloods with the fluid measurement and give you a statistic. At your age you will probably have a very low chance.
It's not very accurate though as I have a friend who was told her baby had a 1 in 20 chance of Downs (1 in 300 is high enough!) and her boy is now 7 years old and perfectly fine.
Try not to think about it too much, just look at the appointment as a chance to meet your bubba
How funny about the name "Button", and there's me thinking I've been all original hahaha. Most people use "Peanut" and "bean". We'll have to call them The Buttons

I think we should name the next thread "Emmsy's girls and their Blardy DP's".
I now feel like poo because DP told me last night when PIL's left that I was really rude and snobby
I was only having a joke with FIL about the use of the words "lend" and "borrow" Now I am rather particular about spelling and the correct way to use the English language (although I'm far from perfect!) I said to FIL I would lend him our xmas tree stand as we don't need it. He then said
"Oh yeah thanks I think I will lend it off you "
I said, well if I lend it to you, you can borrow it from me. FGS, the man is 50 odd years old you'd think he'd be able to talk properly by now. Our little 'argument' was very tongue in cheek and we were quite happy winding eachther up about it - even though it really does bother me that they can't talk properly
Anyway, DP joined in by saying he was right and that it makes perfect sense then little SIL (10yrs old) said she agrees (oh lord, there's just no hope) Then MIL said she didn't know but that FIL sounds right Honestly I was surrounded by imbeciles.

So apparently I should have kept my mouth shut - great, I'm not allowed an opinion when I know I'm right - it makes me so mad!

Anyway, massive row last night, now DP's gone off to Spain for a couple of days so we didn't settle the argument and I'm left feeling like complete crap.

So, I'm sitting here moaning at you lot and eating chocolate and it's giving me indigestion but I don't care, I might just finish the lot too.

I honestly feel like running away and leaving DP to get on with his happy life with his 'wonderful' family.
I'm quite sick of being in the wrong all the time.
Moan moan moan moan moan moan moan moan....................................
mmmmmmm chocolate

HerNameWasSanta · 15/12/2008 15:00

Sparkly a SPA DAY!!! Yummy . Hope you had a lovely time, you deserve it! Can totally understand your reaction to your friends news, it?s so tough isn?t it? Found out on Saturday that some people we know have just had a little boy. They?ve called him Thomas Just said, ?good name? and managed to get on with it. Thankfully I haven?t seen them yet. Here?s hoping the new year brings good things to both of us, and that you need those books back before you know it

CriCri glad the trip to the hospital went well, or as well as it could do anyway. I guess it?s good that they?re keeping such a close eye on her. It sounds like she?s a very happy little thing in herself though, which has got to be a good sign You must be so glad your extension?s nearly done, but I?m at the shower people for you. Can we have some photos please? You know how nosey interested we are

Emmsy you are SO right! That?ll show me for trying to be considerate. Although as things worked out it?s just as well the nightmare people came by themselves, because they were horrendous. I would never normally allow myself to be walked over like that, but it was one of those times where what was right for me wasn?t what was right for my DH and I decided that it was more important to do the right thing by him. I?m glad I did, even though it was a crap evening! The good news is that DH has decided he doesn?t like them either (her really), and we won?t be seeing her again for the foreseeable future! Yippee! She was rude, aggressive, argumentative, loud, shall I go on?!? We told our other friends they had a very narrow escape! They came round for lunch yesterday with their LO which was lovely. Really relaxed and fun, a total contrast to the night before! So glad to hear your DS is better, how are the Christmas plans going in the Emmsy household? You must have your work cut out ? as always! Hope you?re getting the support and appreciation you deserve! Xx

Mibbes YAY FOR THE BOOB! I know how disappointed you were that it didn?t seem to be working out, so I?m really happy for you! He?s such a little cutie, can?t wait to see some more pictures when you have a spare 5 minutes

Ei SYMPTOMS!! Oooooo!! HOW exciting!! All sounds very promising! How are you feeling today? Have you decided when you will cave in test? I will probably test on Thursday night if my temp is still high as it?s DH?s works Christmas do on Thursday night. Am not holding out any much hope this month though, which is actually ok after the ridiculous amount of pressure I put myself under last month [stupid-cow emoticon]

Mollie I?m so sorry to hear about your dog. I can?t imagine how I will feel when our 2 are old? You?re right about this year, thank goodness it?s nearly over. for you. Sending big big hugs and much chocolate and wine. You made a very good point re our (ex)friends, I don't know what they will do if we have a baby next year, hopefully not want to see us too! Glad you had a good night out with your friend, sounds like just what you needed. I hate to think of your confidence being so low when you are such a lovely lady. I will try to work out how to send you those MP3s I told you about. You are absolutely right, upwards and onwards for all of us.

Fruity so glad to hear your scan went well! I just can?t believe how fast your pg seems to be going! Really good news about his size too, I know how much you?ve been worrying. You do seem to have been seeing an awful lot of your ILs lately [fhhm] ? you will be rewarded in heaven! at your DP for not asking you first. Bloody inconsiderate men. Glad you can let off steam here when you need to! I?d be exactly the same as you re the lend/borrow argument. HOW irritating!! Hope the chocolate has helped to make you feel better

Scully ROFL at pukiehontas! Hope the time goes quickly for you between now and 05/01, hopefully Christmas will provide a welcome distraction (maybe? ) And really hope you start to feel better soon

Teehee did your DP survive the weekend? I hate it when you get so angry and you know you have no real reason to be. Mind you, if my DH sat around eating all day while I was cooking, making Christmas presents () and generally being a domestic goddess I?d be pretty angry too! Sound like he doesn?t know how lucky he is to have you. At least we do!

Bella I?m glad I?m not the only one who finds it hard to enjoy nights when I?m the only one not drinking! 1 ¼ hours sounds like a VERY long time for a booking in appt, so hopefully that will include a scan and you?ll get to see your LO for the first time on 12th Jan! HOW exciting!! Very easy to book a private scan, just google it including the area you live in and you should be able to find some places nearby. Should cost around £100, maybe less but I think you are in London?

PHEW! That?ll learn me ( for Fruity) for not posting for a while!

WhenFRUITYgotstuckupthechimney · 15/12/2008 16:08

Oooh Bella Do you mean Mon/Tues next week? or this week? Be lovely to catch up

WhenFRUITYgotstuckupthechimney · 15/12/2008 16:09

Oh and a slap for Kate for that last sentence

HerNameWasSanta · 15/12/2008 18:00

...

BellaHarry · 15/12/2008 18:46

fruity thanks for that hun, I'm totally lost with all this, it seems a bit much to have to think about at 6 weeks! I wasn't going to even bother going to the GP until 12 weeks at one point! lol how wrong was I!!? I'm sorry PIL were being a pain! Sounds really frustrating about the grammar thing to it drives me mad when the kids at school say I'll lend it from you Grrr! I would have pulled out the lap top and sorted the problem once and for all; hate being told I'm wrong when I KNOW I'm right!!...Sounds like my marriage!lol Try not to worry about the row, they are always soooo protective of their families, I have to bite my toung A LOT!!! I have niece sun 21st mon 22nd and just remembered sis is collecting her tue 23rd so that ones out, Monday??

hernamewassanta I do really miss drinking, I love a good beer and alcohol makes life less boreing!! oops that sounds wrong!

SparklyPseudonym · 15/12/2008 19:19

Evening all,
Am waiting for my mum to phone me so we can go and do some Christmas shopping. I've got so much to do and will be at school until Friday - arghhhh!!
Kate It is tough but I'm starting to get more used to the idea. Am very shocked that your friends used Thomas' name...their reaction seems very odd too. As we keep saying - 2009 is going to be a MUCH better year.
Fruity I hate those grammar errors. DP is very protective of his family too. I'm not sure I'd last very long if PILs were staying. You've done so well. Did chocolate help?
Bella You'll continue to be asked if you're pg...esp with Christmas fast approaching. Are you telling people?
Mollie 2009 is going to be a much brighter year for you as well. I'm sorry to hear the bad news (as I said in my text)...was actually just about to text you back. Am so glad you had a good night out - I knew you would. Spa day was lovely thanks. Lots of love xxxxx
Teehee I sometimes feel as though you did last night and I'm not even pg so it's totally understandable. Are you feeling better today? Get a move on with those pics .
Scully Wow 10 weeks already!! Really hope the sickness dies down. Must be a killer in that heat (I'd still swap you for 0 degress most mornings here?)
Ei Haven't spoken to you for ages!!! Any more symptoms? Am keeping everything crossed for you.
Emmsy Lovely to see you. How is little Amy doing? Are the other children very excited for Christmas? It'll be such a fantastic occasion for you.
Mibbes That's lovely news. It's fab to hear from you. Has Evan been feeding well this weekend?
Cricri Am v pleased that the hospital are monitoring Elise. Don't worry about the blood test. My DD had a few (one at less than 24 hours old) and she was fine after a cuddle and a feed. Lots of love xxx

Sparkly thanks for doing the list, I'm scared to after I stuffed it up first time! I am unintentially telling some people, I'm so excited I have told a few friends..oops x

HeyThereSantasGirl · 15/12/2008 20:27

Oh blimey, I've got no chance of catching up with everything that's been going on. Eek. I go off dfor a couple of days and everything boots off. Hmmm, where to start.....

Mibbes Fantastic news about Evan becoming a boob boy. Let's hope he keeps at it for a while at least.

Mollie So so sorry to hear about your dog. Bloody hell, you've been thru it this year haven't you love. Still, when ther's rock bottom, 50 feet or crap and then you; the only way is up.

Kate Thank god DH has decided he doesn't want to see those horrible people anymore. What a crap evening for you. They don't deserve to have you as friends. So there. . And well done for gritting your teeth and getting thru other friends baby announcement. Bet you've had a gut full of this year too.

Ei Cor, those symptoms look good missus. No pressure. But when can you test? How are you feeling? Fingers very tightly crossed for you.

Sparkly How about SparklyTinsel as your log in name? Am a big fan of tinsel. Sorry you've been thru the emotional wringer lately. But the spa days sounds great. Just what you needed. How's the Chrsitmas shopping going? It's murder out there. Credit crunch mu arse!

Fruity Wow those 4d pics are amazing. How gorgeous does Button look. And I'm not suprised that you're fed up with PIL. It's not unreasonable to want your own space and a bit of family time without them. Does DP understand how you feel? Would a gentle word with him help? Or not? Hope the choc helped.

Cricri Really hope the Elise ok after her blood tests. More pics please. And very very that your extension nearly done. But at least we've got walls now!!

Emmsy Glad to see you on here a bit more. Lovely to hear what's going on Chez Emmsy.

TeeHee Have you managed to keep your handS free of DH's throat?! He's not going to be able to sit on his arse when the baby comes, so just remind him to make the most of it, cos he's not going to be sitting down for the next 20 years!!!! And check you out, Nigella - making truffles! Send me some. Pretty please.

Scully Love the name Pukahontis! As much as I'd love to see some sun, I think it'd finish me off with your high temps in OZ. Are you camped out on top of an air con unit? Good luck with the nuchal. Fingers crossed for you that everything is ok.

BellaHarry How you feeling? Any better? nearly the end of term. Am counting down the days til DD1 breaks up. No more school runs for 2 weeks. Yippppeeeee.

Just changing my stats from 11 to 10 weeks.

Have got my 12 week scan booked in with Babybond (snap Fruity!) on 22 Dec. I'll be 11+4, but they wanted to do it before Christmas as 12 weeks on Boxing Day. Ear infection is going. Blimey, it horrible not being able to take anything apart from Olbas nasal inhaler. Doesn't really touch the sides!

Right, enough from me. That'll learn me to not log on for a couple of days.

HeyThereSantasGirl · 15/12/2008 20:29

Mollie Just re-read my post. Sorry it's come across as being rather blase. Don't mean it to be. Just mean that something has got to give and you'll be reaping karmic good fortune in 2009. xxx

MerryCRICRIstmas · 15/12/2008 20:53

Evening ladies
Fruity Hope you feel better after the chocolate You are a saint with your ILs - I don't blame you for getting frustrated. Sorry you and DP had a row just before he went away, it's horrible to part on an argument Hope things are better when he gets back. And I'm with you on proper English, as a translator it's something I'm very conscious of - I'm forever picking up mistakes on menus and those rogue apostrophes drive me mad! I've started picking up DH on his English because I don't want Elise getting into bad habits. As I'm speaking only French to her he's responsible for the English so I want it to be good!
Sparkly Good to see you and glad you enjoyed the spa day. Hope you sort out some time to go Christmas shopping with your mum? What is Santa bringing for DD?
Mollie Sorry to hear about your family dog It's horrible when that happens and must be even worse if you didn't get chance to say goodbye (((Hugs))) to you. On a brighter note I'm glad you had a good night out on the town.
Teehee Hope you're feeling better today. Must have been the day for getting frustrated with OHs yesterday - bearing in mind we can't put Elise down for any length of time without her screaming I need DH to have her just so I can get showered and dressed. So yesterday morning he went off downstairs to have his breakfast, I thought. He was gone ages! Turns out he'd decided to make soup - lovely gesture but I was still in my nightie at midday as a result, plus there were lots of other more urgent jobs that needed doing
Kate Bizarre about your friends naming their baby Thomas Sounds like you've made the right decision with your other "friends" who came round on Saturday and glad you had a good time with the other couple and their LO. Good luck with the testing this week - wouldn't that just be the best Christmas present ever?! i'm just about to post two photos of the outside of our house - before and after the extension. Bear in mind the outside still needs to be painted. Will post some of the inside once it's completely finished
Ei any news?!
Bella Great news about your scan and booking-in appointment Does it seem more real yet? Is this your first DC? Scully Good to see you again I also laughed at the Pukiehontas! Good that you have your scans lined up too. Fingers crossed for the nuchal, I'm sure it will be fine.
Hope everybody else is OK.

DingDongMerrilyOnEI · 15/12/2008 21:07

hi ladies
hope you are all doing well
mollie so sorry to hear about your family dog i hope you are ok like others have said it is the nasty cherry to top off an awful year roll on 2009 and better luck and experiences for you there
sparkly nice to see you do you finish on friday for the christmas hols?
kate good to see you back grrr at your so called friends!! they sound so rude!! and at your other 'friends' calling their DS thomas!! i know you cant claim a name and all that but when something so tragic happens like that to someone close to you it is just respectful for them to let you have that name for themselves as they should have more compassion than to flaunt it in your face like that im so sorry you have got so many crappy people around you i hope you have a much better 2009 than you have 2008
hello to everyone else
nothing new from me and as far as i can work out i am due AF between today and friday so its anyones guess really

Just realised that my normal profile is not showing up under my Xmas name... You'll need to click on one of my posts under cricri to see the photos. I've added some of Elise too as requested by Georgie

Firstly can I say thanks to those of you that took the time to respond to my earlier tantrum Much appreciated girls, thanks for listening.

Kate I have made a decision- you are to move to Hereford so that I can become your new best friend as you are seriously in need of some new supportive ones! So glad that DH decided all on his own that his friends were sacked! Cannot believe that your other friends have named their baby Thomas, like EI said it's disrespectful, and to not even ask The audacity of some people!
Fruity How has little mindee been this week, things better?
TeeHee Is DP still alive?
Georgie Glad to hear ear infection is on it's way out only 7 sleeps until your scan, I'm so excited for you Don't be silly of course I didn't think you were being blase
CriCri Elise is so gorgeous, she gets cuter as time goes on, can't believe she's 5 weeks already! Time flies! Can't wait to see inside the extension now
EI I'm shaking off the pom poms for the "stay away TEW" dance
