hi!

no dates for wedding yet. have a question - does every one do this temping thing? sounds v complicated & what about these sticks that you pee on???

GYo · 23/09/2008 10:19

Hi everyone
Just a very quick one to say hi. Am at airport waiting to get on my plane to Chicago.

Will catch up when i get there!

Have a good day everyone
Bye for now

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 23/09/2008 10:47

Back from town, (record time?!) Have finished the xmas/bday shopping except DS1's guinea pigs and cage, and DS2's big bday pressie (have no idea what it is yet!)

Tink, I am getting very excited for sorting the babies room out, kind of makes it all real once you start doesn't it?!

Sandy, temping can be helpful to help you work out exactly what happens with your own cycle, books will tell you you get your period every 28 days and you ovulate on day 14, this may well be true, but there are so many varients that if you only had sex on day 14 you could be TTC'ing for a long time! The stick to wee on (Ovulation Prediction Kits - or OPK's) are again to help determine when you OV. I think generally people tend to start off TTC'ing and if nothing is happening in a few months then they start exploring different methods that can help, but they can also really stress you out and take a lot of the fun away. For a lot of reasons they are a god send to some people, and they are well worth a go if it is taking a while, or if you have no idea of your cycles to begin with. We have a few temping queens on here that should be able to shed more light on the practical side of things if you decide you want to give it a go.

GYo, hope the flight goes well, I am thinking of you in your business class luxery!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 23/09/2008 10:48

Bloody hell, luxury...

2beautifulgalsandabean · 23/09/2008 11:08

Morning everyone, just popping in trying to keep up.
Sorry about the house delays ses and Wilson?

Welcome Sandy. I didn't temp, thought it sounded like too much hard work! Maybe if i had been trying for longer may have considered it.

Nat- you sound very organised. how many weeks are you now?

GYO- have a good trip.

Well i have persuaded DH that we should take the DD's to Eurodisney for xmas. I am sooo excited they are going to love it. We will go xmas eve and come back day after boxing day.... Just been pricing it all up, probably going to book it next week.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 23/09/2008 11:15

Wow, Eurodisney sounds fantastic at xmas 2BG Will you tell the girls before hand or surprise them with it?

I am 25+3 now, time is going so quickly, I'm so glad xmas shopping, in the main, is done! Just one thing off the to-do list.

I am of your 'next years holidays' just one holiday would be good for us!

Re. your dinner, I think if she is banging on about being pregnant/babies etc. a little hint of how your feeling might be enough to get her to curb it a bit, if she isn't really saying much about it, I'd take the cue from her.

I think mostly, people who are pregnant talking to people who haven't had kids yet (whether they are TTC'ing or not) don't tend to talk about it much. It would be a bit boring if you happened to be someone who wasn't interested in kids at all!

tinkcantwaitfor3dscan · 23/09/2008 14:02

Hi all,

spent a lovely weekend with my brother and SIL and their gorgeous 3 week old daughter . They are both exhausted which is a reminder of how tough the first few weeks can be but soooo happy . Baby doesn't sleep much but least I could take her for a long walk so they got an afternoon nap. As I thought it has made me feel really and I want to push DP into agreeing 100% we can start ttc after xmas (he is about 80% there he says but just needs a bit more time to get used to the idea). I know I shouldn't nag but find it hard to stop myself .

TINK - hope the appointment goes well (and you end up in the right place)

Ses/Wilson - hope the moves get sorted soon. Maybe you can ask NJ to help with the packing/unpacking. She sounds like a pro!

2BG - any space in your suitcase to smuggle me across - sounds like a great way to spend xmas

Hi to everyone else (waves)

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 23/09/2008 15:48

Good luck at appointment Tink, hope they tell you what you want to hear! I have a similar thread running about induction at 38/40 weeks! Cot and car seat sound very exciting

GJ, there are defo upsides to being childfree, sometimes it is hard to see them though when all you want is a baby!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 23/09/2008 17:24

OMG, have linked to this on another thread, but had to show you lot.... am still at the 0-3 months part!

lardybump · 23/09/2008 17:26

Evening all. I have an abscess [sp?} and am on antibiotics. If they don?t clear it all up then I am going to lose the tooth (which will be a pain as it is my main molar on the bottom. Still at least the pain should be gone by tomorrow (cant start antibiotics till tonight as have to be taken on an empty stomach)!!!

I cried when I left the dentist because I thought that there would be a risk to baby with the antibiotics but chemist said no they are safe with no known dangers (still not 100% reassured or relieved...)

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 23/09/2008 17:30

Awww LB, it's not much fun is it? I think I'd rather go through childbirth 4 times in a row than have a bad tooth ache! Fingers crossed the AB's get working soon enough.

How are you other than that? I keep missing you recently, feel like it's been ages since we caught up properly.

lardybump · 23/09/2008 17:36

I know you have been a very busy mummy havent you. I am ok feeling a bit down at the moment but no reason for it (except hormoans).. DD is a bit poorly with a high temp and cold symptoms so I am also tired as she is up a lot during the night.

How about you? Cant believe you are over 25 weeks now..... wow it really is going quick. I am 18 weeks and I thought that mine was going fast!!

lardybump · 23/09/2008 17:37

hormones is what I meant to type but have dd on my lap crying at the moment...

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 23/09/2008 17:42

Yes, those hormones are playing up a bit here as well... DH said to me on Sunday all very concerned "You're getting a bit upset very easily recently, is it all the hormones or is something wrong?" me "me? upset? Oh no, I'm fine, I don't mind my house being upside down, my hips not working without clicking, my uterus feeling like it has a lead weight in it, my back feeling like a wrecking ball is hitting it...." yada yada yada... LOL Bless him, I went on for so long I even ended up laughing at myself

DH is home, we are off to Tesco - again

Have a nice night everyone xxx

lardybump · 23/09/2008 17:46

night NJ have a nice evening...

SesHasapinkline · 23/09/2008 17:50

Hi! Nice to see it's been quite busy on here today

LB - at abcess but don't worry about antibiotics. Should be no problems after 1st trimester. Would be more of a risk not taking them.

Sorry only short post but still no laptop.

OP posts:
lardybump · 23/09/2008 17:55

Thanks ses hope you get your laptop sorted soon........

tinkcantwaitfor3dscan · 23/09/2008 18:21

hi consultant went well

has given me the go ahead for giving birth in our local birthing centre will try this time for a water birth which is what i was going to have with dd.
nurse took blood pressure all fine, analyzed wee sample - fine, listened to baby and measured which we werent expecting all great!!.
have put dds car seat in the car is much better
and cot is in dds bedroom ready for the baby

Heebeejeebee · 23/09/2008 19:36

Evening all

LB - ouch re the abscess!!! I hope it clears up soon and I agree would be more of a risk not taking the antibiotics than taking them..

Tink - glad to hear the appointment went well and great to hear about the water birth!!!

NJ - never mind the hormones, just having had your weekend would have reduced me to tears - I hate the house being turned upside down/cleared out.

Finished taking the clomid for this month. DH has reported I have definitely been grumpy/pmt'ish, but other than that (so far) I seem to not have too many side effects. Off to the hospital on Thurs so will report back how I get on then!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 23/09/2008 20:16

So sorry for scarpering so quickly LB, and especially after settling down for a proper catch up, DH was earlier than expected and I was trying to rush round doing my 'making it look like I've actually done something today' thing!

Tink glad the apt. went so well

Heebee, Good luck for Thursday, I will be thinking of you

Anyway, am now going to eat some dinner and relax for a while before bed! G'night everyone xxx

SesHasapinkline · 24/09/2008 07:34

Morning!

Tink - glad appointment went so well

Heebee - Good luck with the Clomid and let us know how you get on!

LB - meant to say that I thought "hormoans" is quite appropriate really!

Well I seem to be back to worrying. Scan is now Monday morning (instead of day before planned move!) told DH I was worrying as my sickness seems to have got so much better. His suggestion was to "just stop thinking about it!" Then last night I dreamt that I had a big bleed. Woke up and told myself not to be so silly and went back to sleep. Then dreamt that my dream came true and I really did have a big bleed. Woke up v fed up and didn't go back to sleep again!
