Thanks tink so do I......

Heebeejeebee · 25/09/2008 18:09

Hi all

LB - sorry dd isn't well. You and NJ must be exhausted!!!

So much shopping going on as well!!!!

Just got back from my scan - she reckons I am going to ov on day 17 which is when I reckon too, despite consultant saying this isn't possible in a 26 day cycle. Good news is that no risk of multiple births so we can go for our lives (if there was a risk we would be told not to try this month).

Have been on the evening primrose oil this month to see if that helps lengthen the cycle and hopefully the clomid will help!

Hope everyone has a good evening

calsworld · 25/09/2008 20:09

Evening all. Been really busy so haven't been able to get on much, although I think the break is doing me good all round. Its probably the longest time I've spent not obsessing about cycles, babies and getting pregnant for ages because its all out of my hands until AF gets here. I can't even remember how many weeks ago the MC happened which I assume is a good and healthy thing!

We've booked a holiday - did I post that already? Me, DH, DS and my parents have booked a week away - provided DS' passport arrives it was always going to be a bit tight - but my friend who is a policewoman phoned today to say she's had a letter from the passport office asking her for details of how she knows me - not sure how anyone answers that question but we've been friends for ten years! I think maybe it looked odd because DS and her share the same birthday!

Can't wait to go - just hope the weather is kind to me.

Having a nightmare at the moment - my work laptop has broken and DH has taken the drive out to try and get my files off (as haven't backed up for a while [shitting myself] but the files are all encrypted so they won't let him in....

I'm being a bit of a drama queen as its not really a complete disaster as its the power that's given up, so I should be able to find someone at work that's got a battery on that I can put on it to take the files off and put them on the network. I only realised there was a problem when the laptop told me it needed power when it was already plugged in - I pulled out the cable to check the connection and sparks came flying off!!! Oh well.

What else have we been up to - DH has been away for a jolly last weekend but barely noticed he was gone as had so much to do.

Trip abroad this week was good as I arrived at hotel at about 5 and didn't have anything I needed to do until I met colleagues at 7.30, so was able to fully enjoy my lovely suite complete with enormous bath and glass walled shower....I soaked in the bath with my book for about 45 mins then had a shower to wash my hair! Guess that was my pamper day! Nice that I got paid for doing it!

I'm rabbiting too much and need to go cook dinner so will scoot off for now,

We've had no testing here for ages - where are all the ttc'ers and what stage is everyone at? We haven't had a BFP here for a while, surely we're due one!

Diege · 25/09/2008 21:36

Evening! Cals, that trip abroad of yours (where did you go??) sounds fantastic! Can fully appreciate the bath/shower/book thing. I make myself stay awake for as long as possible when in a hotel with work, just because I know I won't get woken up by wailing at 3 in the morning (at least not children's wailing ). You sound nice and relaxed, plus holiday will be good (though eek about sparking cables !!).
LB, poor dd (and you!)Really hope she feels better soon. Can't believe your 20 week scan is in 2 weeks - where has that gone!!!
Heeby, excellent news on up and coming ovulation Where are you in your cycle?
Well ov stick was negative again (did I post that before?)but still keeping up with the every other day goffing DH is pleased anyway, and hopefully I'll be able to get the old preseed out when I get a line on my OPKS .
Right, off to bed, so speak tomorrow x

LaTourEiffel · 25/09/2008 21:39

I've been thinking of name changing for a while and have finally done it...what do you think? Yay or Nay?

Or does it make me sound tall and elegant am wondering now if that's just plain misleading!

Don't all go guessing wildly who I am as I need to go a little bit covert as am a bit concerned about RL spies - it'll be obvious over time!

I can't believe that this thread has been running for seven days and we've only racked up 130 posts... what is everyone doing?

As cals says, where are all the ttc'ers?

LaTourEiffel · 25/09/2008 21:43

x-posted there Diege, sorry!

I've used pre-seed before with success, have you tried it yet? Make sure you remember not to let go of the 'bulb' until you've pulled the tube out of yourself, else you could end up either removing the liquid or suck yourself up the dispenser!!! Also, make sure you shake the stuff down before inserting otherwise you'll be fanjo farting all through your session! .

I think I might have mentioned before that it added a bit of light relief to TTC'ing!

Every other GOF'ing sounds good too, DH and I need to get into the swing of things, we've been a bit hands off just recently but we'll never get our BFP if we carry on like this!

Diege · 26/09/2008 08:31

Thanks for the tips LaTour Still trying to work out your alias..think I know but don't want to guess on here because of your reasons iyswim! useful tips about the avoidance of fanjo farts - will definitiely take that one on board
At home with dd3 today, and going to her first Jo Jingles class. DD2 was never keen, but hopefully dd3 will enjoy them - it's nice to have something structured to do with her anyway on my day off .
Hope everyone is well and happy on this beautiful sunny morning

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 26/09/2008 09:16

Good Morning

Tink, those sheets and stuff are lovely Perfect for a boy or girl as well!

Wilson, hope move goes OK today, I would have packed up for you, but sadly spent all day still trying to find furniture and bedding etc. no bloody closer to choosing though. I am not the most decisive person in the world at the best of times, especially when there are big ££££'s on the table, but FFS, I don't think there is a website that sells baby stuff that I haven't looked at, and I still have no definates... am even beginning to question my short lists...

Diege, It might have been B&M, was deffo B and something, it is at the side of town I don't normally go to, only went because we couldn't fit on the bus so we went for a wander while waiting for the next one. Hope the class goes well And erm... fanjo farts, no, not going to share that story, t'is too much even for me...

Cal similar thing happened to our laptop, it cost about £60 to get it fixed, and then it only stayed fixed for about 6 months, we gave in and got the desk top. Hope you get it sorted

LaTour, if you put a space between the letters of your old name, it won't show in search, so for instance if you put 'N a t a l i e J a n e' it won't show up, however if the someone you are avoiding knows about this thread, and reads it, then they'll know anyway!

I am shattered, have hit the point where everything is just happening around me, not taking anything in, not giving much out, only 14 more weeks of sodding shitty bolloxy fucking contractions to go....

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 26/09/2008 09:27

NJ.... what a nightmare- i had braxton hicks with DS every morning from 24wks, so can kinda understand a little how you feel- i know i didn't enjoy them and it was only for an hour or so each day!!... really hope they calm down for you!!

LaTour- i'm stumped... no clue who you are now!!

as for me, think i've caught a bug which is pants timing, supposted to be going to the zoo tomorrow with some friends who are coming over from doncaster... i'm sat here in my knickers and a cardigain because i feel too bad to get dressed still!! AND DH goes back to work on sunday so i'm on my own from then!!

He's just got home with some shopping so better go give a hand putting it all away!!

Heebeejeebee · 26/09/2008 09:31

Morning all!

Cals - my best bit of going on conferences is spending hours in the bath in my luxury hotel room (especially if its one of those with tv speakers in the bathroom!).

Good to read the tips about preseed - I've got some to try this month (along with drinking grapefruit juice and evening primrose oil!). I'm on day 12 today, but I reckon I'll ov on day 16 so we'll probably start GOF'ing on Sat.

Wilson hope move goes well and NJ hope you manage to make some shopping decisions!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 26/09/2008 09:35

Glask fingers crossed it is just a 24 hour thing.

Heebee, sorry, meant to say it was good news about your scan How can they tell when you will OV?

tinkcantwaittofindoutboyorgirl · 26/09/2008 10:14

hi

right dd @ nursery so have some time and peace now

hi nat

cheers - just hope sheets fit - cot mattress is 117x53 and sheets r 120x60

i am indecisive like you nat as well i can never decided with toys, bedding etc, just 2 many things to choses from
poor u with your contractions

hi glas so sorry to hear that you are ill you rest and get better soon

my dd still would like a girl i think that a girl would be nice and easier too as they will be sharing a room d has green walls and a fairy themed room, fairy canvases, ornaments etc.
she has come up with a name short list - daisy (luv), socks (hmm) abit too different and old macdonald ( hillarious)

Heebeejeebee · 26/09/2008 10:31

NJ - She did an external and internal scan and saw that the follicles had a blood supply (which meant they were new ones, rather than ones left over from last month), she measured them (they were 14mm which is how she agreed that I would ov next week - they are apparently 20mm when you ov) and she measured the lining of my uterus too... all very clever really!

She was lovely and asked me where I worked etc. When I said a law firm in the City, she was asking me whether the American banks got their bail out and I had to fluff the answer saying I had been mumsnetting all day too busy to check the news

Tink - psml at Socks and Old Macdonald!

tinkcantwaittofindoutboyorgirl · 26/09/2008 13:22

heenj - very clever

have bought dd 2 fitted sheets for her bed from vertbaudet she still has ones from when she was a baby she is in a cotbed.
bought purple flowery one and orangey/pink one with leaves and flowers on.

Diege · 26/09/2008 13:34

Hello! Good luck for moving day WILSON Was it also SES's moving day today, or was that exchange of contracts?
NAT, quite happy to share fanjo fart stories - you first though . Remember the wagon pledge that nothing is TMI? .
Hi TINKS - hope you got a good rest with dd at nursery
HEEBS, think we will be testing buddies this month . I'm on cd 12 today, but haven't got positive OPK yet (test later today). My cycles seem slightly longer after MC, so thinking I may ovulate early next week. We can compare fanjo farts pre-seed stories .
Sorry you're feeling so rubbish GLASK - you're not having a great time of it at the moment are you? .
SES if you're lurking how are things? Is it your scan next week?
Right, cup of (decaff!) tea befpre school run. DD3 had a great time at her class - nice to do things like that as I've always felt a bit out of it when going to classes etc, even standing at school gate on my 2 days, with working etc. I don't know a soul and find it all a bit 'cliquey', but hey what to do..

Heebeejeebee · 26/09/2008 17:04

Diege - will def be a testing buddies! Pmsl earlier as DH suggested a dry run with the pre-seed. I told him that dry run possibly wasn't the best choice of words

Ironically Tuesday (when I reckon I'll ov) was my dd, so it would be nice if something happened this month!

lardybump · 26/09/2008 17:16

Evening everyone. DD is still poorly I woke up this morning and she is covered in a rash from head to foot. So I called the Dr for an appointment telling them she had a temp of 39.9 and was covered in a rash the receptionist said "computer says no" . I got her dressed and went anyway (fuming by now as I was so worried) and demanded to see a Dr now, this second (all said in a loud whine while crying profusely! Everyone heard me that was there) !!!

Turns out dd has a viral infection which accounts for the temp and the rash again..

PFB anyone.....

In my defence I was so worried that all I could think of was meningitis...... and the receptionist didn't know over the phone that it wasn't..... Oh the shame......... I have to go back next week as well to see the midwife, should I take a peace offering do you think????

Diege · 26/09/2008 17:26

LB , but I think any one of us would have done the same...At least you got to see a dr. and have had a diagnosis. Those viral rashes are fierce, and look really dramatic but should clear up pretty soon .
LOL HEEBY at 'dry run' . Am feeling a bit scared about using mine actually for some odd reason Still no positive on the hpt, but no EWM either, so think it'll be later than day 14 this month. I'm not convinced with their accuracy for me, as have never seen even the faintest nline on one even the months I was pregnant . Think with every other day we've got it pretty much covered anyway

tinkcantwaittofindoutboyorgirl · 26/09/2008 17:27

hi lardybump

sorry to hear that dd still ill
glad u got an answer when my dd had a rash on her back i rang receptionist and computer also said no
the receptionist said you should have rang earlier as we had appointments then ( ye whatever but she didnt have a rash then)
managed to see a nurse was just heat rash it is horrid when they get rashes i was panacking 2.
she said next time ring earlier god dont u just hate drs receptionists
ye for friday roll on saturday.
we had a nice time @ dds friends 3rd bday party

Heebeejeebee · 26/09/2008 17:32

LB - I'm amazed they didn't give you an appointment - I'd have thought that children with rashes would have automatically got immediate appointments!!

Diege - my GP and the consultant at the hospital told me to stop wasting my money on my clearblue monitor. They told me HPTs don't work. Having said that, my monitor does seem to be accurate in line with the CM, but I'm not going to use them next month!

Right - off home now and DH tells me he's taking me out for curry

lardybump · 26/09/2008 17:43

Thank you ladies......... I was going to cook a curry tonight but have just seen an advert for mcdonnalds and am thinking a burger would be good actually........

Diege · 26/09/2008 17:58

That's reassuring HEEBS .
Party sounds good TINKS - we have a 'pizza and pamper' one for dd2 on Sunday, no adults. First time she's been left alone but hopefully we won't get a call!
LB, I am also going down unhealthy tea route I think. DH is out at some cycling meeting, so I am having thin fries and a bird's eye chicken pie . I have been ultra healthy these past few weeks, but always make sure I have one scrummy junk meal a week (otherwise I'd go crazy and eat everything in sight).
DDs 1&2 are at a craft afternoon tomorrow (they go every year - feel a bit guilty as it's a church thing, and we never go)but hey they put the leaflets in the school bags! Will have to do some work too, but hoping the weather is good for some relaxing walks etc.
Anyone else have plans?

lardybump · 26/09/2008 18:14

Working tomorrow but Sunday we are having a family day at the Leeds Castle. It is so good there you pay £15 and you can go as many times as you like in a year. DD loves it so we are going to take her there as she has been stuck in doors all week!!
