Thought I'd start another thread as the last one was SO successful but is starting to take a while to load and I keep losing my place in it!

A quick update on my stats - on CD39 of third cycle since getting AF back after DS was born in April 2004 (10.5 months old).

Have endometriosis and PCOS so have decided to let nature take its course over the next few months and if I fall pg naturally, then so be it. If I don't, then we'll try clomid again (worked first time for us with DS).

Am still breastfeeding, so have erratic cycles - they were always long (so far have had AF visit twice and had 50 and 42-day cycles).

No idea when I ov - may try OPK's next month if no success this month (and don't think I am pg atm).

Think that's it!

Lots and lots of babydust to all the ttcers and lots and lots of babyglue to those who've just had BFPs (and more congrats!). xxx

Fresco this was our second month of trying which I know is nothing in this. But it took me more than 6 years to conceive my DD and I had no idea what to expect this time around. I came home today and saw the test I did this morning and it's very definitely positive That said, I'm still retesting in the morning just to be sure!

If I am due, I reckon I must be due very end October or 1st November. Think I o'd between 5th to 8th of Feb. Test I've done earlier this month have all been negative.

cp3 · 24/02/2005 18:44

Oh Sparkly 6 years. How heartbreaking that must have been for you. The fact that it only took 2 months this time gives hope to us all.

sparkly · 24/02/2005 19:41

cp3, it was the worst time of my life to be honest. I don't think you can appreciate it until you've been through it. I was diagnosed with pco and we did clomid, injectable hormones and finally ivf. Nothing worked. When I got pregnant with dd it happened naturally. I do feel incredibly lucky that it's happened so quickly this time though as I've said many times today, I'm not sure I believe it's real yet. I can't wait to test in the morning just to know with more certainty.

Elf1981 · 25/02/2005 07:22

Hi all, been lurking for a few days. Just like to see how you are all getting on!

Congratulations Sparkly on your BFP!

Love Elf.

katierocket · 25/02/2005 07:38

lots of congrats sparly
and cp3 it's bound to be your turn, especially if it's your birthday! happy birthday BTW

katierocket · 25/02/2005 07:39

or sparkly even!

sparkly · 25/02/2005 08:33

Well I did another test this morning and it was faint but definitely there so I'm more convinced. Not that convinced though as have bought a digital test to do later today. Yes or no in a window would be definitive enough for me! I know you're all probably sick of me not believing it but I just don't - don't feel pregnant, not feeling sick though have been incredibly tired. When pg with dd I was sick for the first 20 weeks so keep using that as the benchmark which may not be useful.

Good luck to everyone who is testing soon! I will report back today after doing my FINAL test!

Toothache · 25/02/2005 08:42

Sparkly - Why are you waiting until later to do the digital test???? Have you told DP? What did he say??

fresco · 25/02/2005 08:58

katie, how long did it take u to get your results? will fone surgery at 11 again and hopefully they will be there today.feeling incredibly tired today but always do when af is around the corner

munnzieb · 25/02/2005 09:05

still no O I think perhaps one month I OV on CD12/13 and the next it's 13/14 weird!

Fresco - good luck hon.

SP - it's a positive! lol, good luck!

fresco · 25/02/2005 09:10

glad to see your name again munn.its nice to see some 'old' names are still here so you not alone, but at tne same time hope this month is yours too lass!! was you feeling v v low hen?

Diege · 25/02/2005 09:11

Munnzieb - have you been using OPKs to test for O? I'm also still waiting for O (now on day 20). I did have a 35 day cycle last month, though OPK said I'd O on day 14 then. EWM has disappeared, too, so maybe the sticks have been wrong, or I didn't ovulate this month. No idea when AF is due now, or if it appears at all if you havn't ovulated?

munnzieb · 25/02/2005 09:22

Dieg - I use persona, I couldn't get on with those little sticks, (kept having to get DH to check the lines were the same!) I got mine form Ebay and thoughtly recommend them. It was only after using persona for one month I got a def smiley face on the Clear blue tests, (althou this was done at about 11am so perhaps early morning is no good for the tests?) no idea.

I would have though u do have AF if u don't OV cos no egg has latched on to the wlls, then again thou my friend doens't OV and doesn't have AF either so no idea on that front, however I don't think u can OV and not have AF IYCWIM.

get persona, take all the stress out of checking!

Fresco - how u gettin on with ur persona?

fresco · 25/02/2005 09:29

well the leaflet says cant use it if you b/f.so its sitting in my draw, munnzieb.i think i have been so desperate for baby that i have been stressed far too much and mayb it goes against getting pg.dont know.but i feel ready again. we will make it sooner or later wont we?

Hi ladies

Went to the doctors last night not about getting
pregnant but about something else and he was a really
nice doctor, one I hadnt seen before, there is 9 in the
surgery. He looked through all my records and said I
am glad to see you are not pre-menapausal which is what
I thought as I had had long cycles, then short cycles,
periods very irregular. He said there was plenty of
oestrogen there still from what the blood tests showed.
Then he said, oh I see you are trying to get pregnant.
I told him yes and what our concerns were after DH's
reversal of vasectomy about 8 years ago in case the
sperm had decreased. He said "why should it", it
shouldnt. Anyway he said even if it went down to 5
million he could do something about it, no problems at
all. He said see what the results say then he will
refer us to a specialist. He is a really nice doctor
and I am going to stick with him now. He seems keen to
get things going for us and has a lot of optimism which
has been good for me to hear. He said not to worry and
he was sure the result would be fine.

Although I have been unaware of cervical mucus before,
or not taken much notice of it, I was aware this
morning of a lot of discharge, only on day 10 of
cycle. If it is the first discharge I have noticed
this month what does it mean. Dont know whether it is
the fertile egg white kind or not, how do I know. I
have got some ovulation predictor testers which Claire
on her kindly let me have and dont know when to start
using them, being a bit irregular I dont want to waste
them, although she was kind enough to send me about 20
of them. Thanks Claire if you see this message.

Help please where do I go from here to improve my
chances this month.

Diege · 25/02/2005 10:43

Worried Bev,
How nice to have such a positive doctor. I would say that the discharge is definitely a good sign, and that it would show (from reading Zita West's fertility book) that you should expect EWM is about 3-4 days time? Re: OPK I would say start using on day 12/13, though I've gone through 8 already this month!. A really good sign though, so keep positive!

Worriedbev · 25/02/2005 10:58

Diege

Thanks for the advice. What does EWM mean? Sorry but havent got used to all the abbreviations on here yet.

I will start using tester kit on day 12 then. What do you actually do with them, sorry to sound nieve but havent used them before.

OMG! I now believe it given that the word "pregnant" flashed up within a matter of seconds rather than the 3 minutes the test said it would take! I'm pregnant!

Not told DP yet, saving that for tonight ... god, when do I go to the doctor? How far pregnant am I? Pretty sure I didn't O until 5-8 February when we were away. A baby conceived in Barcelona where we had the best time. I'm soooo happy! Thanks for all your support!

Worriedbev · 25/02/2005 11:07

sparkly

Oh you lucky thing. How long did it take you to conceive? Did you feel any pregnancy symptoms after your period was late up until now or did you feel the same, just so I know what to look out for if god is kind and it happens to us. You must be on cloud 9 now. Think you are living a dream but you are not. I know the feeling when I was pregnant 11 years ago with my daughter, you feel you are dreaming. I wish it was me again, but sending lots of wishes your way.

worriedbev, thats some good news from your gp.and relief for you aswell now you know you can count on him.

still no results from my blood test.dont know if its because i moved surgery that its taking too long.

BellaLasagne · 25/02/2005 11:44

Hi girls (I didn't last long, did I!!!!)

Big Congratulations Sparkly

WorriedBev, my DH had his count done a couple of weeks ago and is down to 1m after having mumps orchitis 4 years ago. We're gutted, but the GP told us that things can be done to improve this (loose clothing (which was the main problem) and there is some medication apparently.) I've started feeding him zinc supplements and he's now wearing baggier boxers and trews. The main thing is he told us to stop ttc as this is apparently the biggest inhibitor of all (stress), which is why I'm not supposed to be on here! I've stopped using OPKs and tracking dates in my diary.

He has to repeat the test soon to check it wasn't a one-off bad sample, then we go to the docs together for further advice and, hopefully, help.

We used an NHS hospital but deal directly with the path lab. We get the pot and form from the GP and then ring the lab for an appointment. We have 1 hour to get the sample there which is stressfull because it's a 40 min drive (work it out for yourself!!!!) I don't think we have a private clinic near us, but as we're facing sveral tests the cost would be prohibitive.

HTH - just to let you know you're not alone

BL xx

RudyDudy · 25/02/2005 11:54

Just dropped in to check up on you all and found some lovely good news - big congratulations sparkly

conceived in barcelona, eh? does this mean we can expect another little Cruz in 9 months?

Hope everyone else is doing well. Thinking of you all and hoping to see some more BFPs soon

Worriedbev · 25/02/2005 11:56

BellaLasagne

Hi there.

Thank you for your message. I am pleased to know that there is someone out there in the same boat as me, although I am not sure what his sperm count will be until we get the results in 8 to 10 days time. It may be fine, we never know. It was 22 million after reversal of vasectomy 8 years ago so as doctor says, why should it change. But I dont know I always think after reversal you are playing with nature and it could drop right down to nothing. I suppose if it is nothing, there is nothing that can be done, but even 1 million it is good to know there is hope. Thanks for that. The only reason he had no more kids after reversal was that his wife at the time wasnt producing any eggs. Stupid doctor putting him through all that and then her not producing any eggs. He did have a partner after that who was 50 and they had unprotected sex for 6 months until she went on the pill but surely she was too old to conceive anyway. What are my chances, I suppose time will tell.

BabyBop · 25/02/2005 12:11

Hello. Can I join in? I am a regular under a different name. As of today me and DH are trying for another baby. Took 6 months to get pregnant last time. Will have to see what happens. Not sure what to do with the stats with regard to cd as I am not on a period yet. Not sure when it is likely to occur either. Can someone enlighten me a bit? I was due to have my hormone injection today but we have decided to give it a miss Baby dust to you all

Diege · 25/02/2005 12:14

Worried Bev: EWM = 'egg white mucous' (eeww!). I tend to wee into a pot and then use stick to test. When you get this EWM it might be the time to start testing, although Zita West (my God)says sometimes OPK read postive just after you've ovulated? (arrgh - what are you supposed to do, test everday?)
Sparkly, you must be on cloud nine! I've forgotten from my pregnancies, but one question I never found an answer to is what your 'discharge' looks like after ovulation if you ARE pregnant. This might still be fresh in your mind!
