Hi all, after a fantastic weekend with my lovely godson and niece, DP and I have decided to TTC. We are going to wait until xmas as I just started a new job a few months ago and DP can't transfer to same city until end of year. So a few months to go until we even start TTC but I am already very very excited - I have wanted to TTC for a while but DP was unsure at first. I hope this isn't too soon to join this thread. BTW this will be our first.

Have got my ipod cable, finally, after a bit of traipsing around and found a cute little shop selling material next to the electrical shop so picked up some material to make a couple of pillowcases for DS' little cot pillow. £3 for the material and matching cotton - bargain!

I'm happy to be called xmas or CWFX as long as I don't have to wear a santa suit ! I'm 29, no DC yet, and waiting ttc january(ish).

ok well i think i may let myself get a little excited, i just did another test 3rd today and yep still BFP. Do another in the morning then MIGHT do my new CB digi with conception thingymebob on Thursday or Friday. Not sure what strength they test at!!!
Its all sooooo exciting. Sorry that i have not responded to anyone elses messages today i am just walking round in a me only daze! Plus i have a terrible headache.

Diege sorry to trouble you but can you explain something to me. MW was slightly worried about my blood sugar count saying that it was quiet high at 6.6 and is sending me for another test in 3 weeks time where I can not eat for set time before hand. Should i be cutting down the sweet things I am eating just incase???? I have been eating lots of fruit and lots of cakes as well so could this be the problem... Bit worried as my brother is diabetic and my dad has high sugar levels. I have never had any problems before however and my tests have always been low.

There was no protein or sugar in my urine so that is a good sign isn't it??

cal details my AF was due on the 28th august so think my EDD will be may sometime im 24 and PG with DC3! think i will do my CBD trial test tomoro so i can see how far after conceptio is. im at doctors in friday morning so think will know more then.

Hi Lardy. I am by no means an expert of this, but yes 6.6 is slightly high (normal between 4.5 and 5.5 I think). It could be higher if you'd had something sweet a few hours before being tested, or could simply be a 'blip'. To get a proper reading you really need to do serial readings throughout then day. I think the fasting blood sugar test is something they do to rule out gestational diabetes, and may also doa glucose intoleranec test - don't panic! If by any chance you were to develop this, it almost always disappears after baby is born.
Diet-wise, if I were you between now and the next test I'd try and eat lots of slow release complex carbs - wholemeal bread, sweet potatoes, sunflower seeds, lentils, pluses, porridge!! - try to keep away from simple sugars (even things like white bread).
You will be fine I'm sure - it's commonplace in USA to have glucose monitored and 6.6 isn't so bad.
