Thought I'd start a new thread for those of us who are out for May. Love to see some of my old friends here as well as maybe some new ones

Hey Yellowflowers,

I always thought that EWCM was the onset of Ovulation as opposed to post-ovulation... I hope so anyway!!

yellowflowers · 15/09/2008 13:53

Hi DawnAs - I hope so. I've read different things. Fingers crossed...

VillageMum · 15/09/2008 14:00

Hi DawnAS, EWCM is definitely the onset of ovulation - I've been reading up over the weekend! Supposed to signal that optimal time to conceive is in next 2-3 days from onset. Not that I'm nearly at that stage yet myself. Good luck!

DawnAS · 15/09/2008 14:14

Thanks "VM". Just been to the loo and LOADS of EWCM!! No temp rise though (is that supposed to happen up to or after?!). BDd last night so will go again tonight just in case. Thought EWCM might have been something to do with that, but not the amount I've just had!! Way TMI - sorry!!

JLo2 · 15/09/2008 14:56

Sorry to hear about your bleeding Sans04, I had something similar about 6 months ago and my cycles now seem to have sorted themselves out.

I've adjusted my dates on the list, hope that's okay.

Oh dear, getting myself in a right tizz this afternoon, needed to come on here and get some prospective I think, Did my Ov test and it had a line but very faint was so sure it was going to be a positive because of the period type pains I had earlier so now very disapointed! Im on CD23 and still not even ovulated that seems so abnormal too me! But Ive read alot of people say that the Ov tests dont work and you blink and you miss your window of positive on the test etc... but now thinking I could of missed it? I also hae really sore boobs today can that be a sign of ovulation? They have been a bit tender all month tho which is unusual and then I read a thread about people who had 'proper' periods but were pg so now thinking that too! ARRRGGGHHHH just want to be pg all this worry and stressing and overthinking surely cant be healthy.....Ok rant over!

Sans - so sorry to hear that x

Yellowflowers/Dawn - sorry I cant contribute with the ECWM as I dont have a clue!

DawnAS · 15/09/2008 17:48

Littlemissmischief, I wouldn't use the tests as a sure answer anyway...

Just to put them into perspective. During my first cycle of TTC I used them for 2 weeks because I wasn't aware of EWCM or anything like that. I got very faint lines for 2 weeks in a row - so none of them were positive. But then I found out that I was PG 2 weeks after the second lot of faint lines. So they don't work really because I don't think I could have become PG without OVing - ha ha!!

I've got loads of EWCM at the moment but the OPK tests don't have any lines at all. My advice is just to BD every other day once AF has completely gone and then you can't go wrong! That's what I did and it worked for me. Unfortunately I think had an MC a couple of weeks later but we're trying again now.

Keeping things crossed for you!!

xx

DawnAS · 15/09/2008 17:50

Oooops - I didn't mean "I think I had an MC two weeks later", I meant I DID have an MC two weeks later (at 5 weeks PG ).

xx

wzmo · 15/09/2008 17:55

is it possible to be pregnant and still have eggwhitie disscharge??????

littlemissmischief · 15/09/2008 20:14

Thankyou Dawn, that has made me feel alot better, I didnt have a 2nd line for a while and then the last few days ive had a 2nd line, none strong enough to be a positive but yesterday was the darkest so far and we have been BD loads over the last 2 weeks and will continue to do so so hopefully I havent missed the boat - Thanks again x x

twoplease · 15/09/2008 21:53

Evening all,

Littlemiss - I've had the same issues as you with the OV tests - i didn't get strong positives at all and have just got AF so have no idea if i actually OV or not.

am going to see if finances stretch to some 'posh' ones this month (last ones were ebay cheapies) to see if that makes a difference - but i think the BD every other day is probably best approach all round really - not sure I have the willpower or time to chart or temp although I think it would be useful.

have got to have a smear on friday which I have been putting off in the hope I would be pregnant and not able to have it but as that isn't happening, I've forced myself to make the appt. I have a small pelvis (TMI - sorry!) and smear tests are a really horrendous experience for me as no nurse believes me when i ask for a small speculum (sorry - TMI again!) i am already thinking about it too much!

anyway - any news from those of you at the top of the list?

littlemissmischief · 15/09/2008 22:08

Forgot to add - Sorry to hear about your m/c Dawn x

Twoplease - yeah mine were Ebay cheapies too so maybe that was the problem, dont think I can stretch to posh ones tho.I know what you mean about smears, I have a tilted womb and it always takes at 3 goes with the large speculum to get it right - Why cant they make a new better way to do this sort of thing! x

VillageMum · 16/09/2008 09:22

Don't worry about TMI, DawnAS! Answering your question about temperature rise a couple of posts back: as far as I know, temp rise only happens once ovulation has taken place - once you see the rise, it's already happened! So plenty of EWCM plus no temp rise yet probably means that you're on the point of ovulating and this is the absolute best time to ttc. Good luck!!

VickyJane77 · 16/09/2008 09:48

Hi ladies,
I feel like crap today, I'm full of a stinking cold, so DH won't to any BDing with me...I can't think why . Ovulation was a few days ago so heres hoping the little bit of BDing we did do worked! It only takes the once. So now I'm on the long 2 week wait. Hope no one else gets my crappy cold xx

littlemissmischief · 16/09/2008 10:42

Morning Ladies
Sorry you got a cold VickyJane, my littleman has one too poor little thing! Hope you feel better soon hun x

Not really sure where I am at the moment, not sure if ive ovulated yet or am on my 2ww/4ww wait- I was saying to DP last night, why cant mother nature just let something really obvious happen when your pg like your feet turn blue or something and then we would all find this so much easier
Will do my Ovulation test this afternoon, although ive lost a bit of faith in them! Just hope I know what is going on I go on holiday in October!

Hows everyone else doing? x
Gonna update the list now x

With you on the 'wishing there was an obvious sign of pregnancy' lmm.

Reminds me of 'V' tho'- does anyone remember that prog from years ago? - when the lass was pg with alien babies and she got a dark ring on the skin round her neck, and when it was all the way round and joined up it was time to give birth!!!

Not saying I would want that like! But a sign/symptom that was unmistakeable and common to everyone would be good.

Thanks for new list btw.

JLo2 · 16/09/2008 13:19

I like the idea of your feet turning blue At least you could put socks on until you were ready to tell everyone
I'm not holding out much hope for this month as my DH has been stressed out with work and away quite a bit so not a lot of action But as VJ77 says it only takes once so you never know
I'm going to make sure I stay very busy to keep myself away from the tests. If AF hasn't arrived by 27th/28th I'll probably test then. Might even try and hang on until 1st Oct (who am I kidding, I haven't got a hope )
There are a lot of people on the list who must be very close to the end of their cycle. Good luck everyone I have my fingers crossed for you all

littlemissmischief - I think you need to do some relaxing deep breathing, you're wearing me out with the worrying! Hope you're okay. I know it's hard, but I really do think that more relaxed you are about it the more likely it will happen

lillypie · 16/09/2008 13:50

Hi everyone, got back from a lovely holiday in France last night.

The list says that I'm CD25 but I'm actually CD27

According to Fertility Friend I should test tomorrow.

Wish me luck, and the same to all of you who are due to test

wzmo · 16/09/2008 14:02

oh sometimes this is just soo frustrating i wish i could just get a BFP!!!!!! i know everyone here feels that way so sorry for venting. i am just feeling a bit upset by it all.

littlemissmischief · 16/09/2008 14:22

Sorry JLo2 didnt mean to wear you out with my stressing, Im a normally worried, sressy person and once I get something in my head i cant get it out of my head until its sorted so as a combination when ttc is not great, I dont mean to go on but I havent told anyone we are trying ttc and although DP is really good he doesnt understand it all so I rely on you lot really! Would love someone to teach me some relaxing breathing techniques or anything really that might chill me out!

Wzmo - dont worry about venting thats what we are all here for and I know exactly how you feel, whats happening with you?

Lillypie - everything crossed for you hun x

MamaMia - Havent seen that film but sounds like a good idea, no probs for the new list, sorry if everyones stats arent right

LovelyMonster · 16/09/2008 14:26

Hi all! Horrific left sided AF pains last night. Painkillers did nothing. Ended up snuggling close to DH using his buttocks as a heatpack!!! He he. Anyone else do this??

MAMA - I remember V!!!!! I loved it!

WZMO - I know! I see PG women everywhere. it bites!

Not may BFP's so far this month. Come on ladies its time to get up the duff! Im counting on you all to bring on a lucky streak to the group!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good vibes, good vibes!!!

lillypie · 16/09/2008 14:28

Oh wzmo I'm so sorry that you are feeling upset. It's very hard not to let this TTC stuff take over your life.

Feel free to rant on this thread any time,we all understand
